Artemis...

The Archangel docks to the more civilized area of Artemis...

"I find it strange to find an area for civilians to live inside a military base.", Neumann said as he finishes with the docking.

"Space is like the ocean of Earth a long time ago.", Murrue said. "Pirates or criminal organizations attack on civilians becomes far more frequent due to the war between the two powers. Artemis serves as a shelter for them, thus the reason why it's in an unimportant location."

"Anyway, what do we do for the time being?", Neumann asks the captain.

"I doubt ZAFT will try anything for the time being, so we'll use the time to get some rest and resupply.", Murrue said. "Remember to lock-up the Archangel after we load off the civilians."

"So this is the famous Archangel.", Ghost said staring at the said ship docking. "Such a magnificent name."

"What do you plan to do?", a Blue Cosmo agent asks.

"For now we must observe and gather more information.", Ghost said. "While we may have all the data of the ship to make our own, stealing one would be beneficial for us. Besides these it more to Artemis than being just a refugee center and a useless base."

Behind the two are several B.A.T.s covering up a large silhouette with a sheet before closing the warehouse doors.

Several shuttles depart from the Archangel towards the civil section of Artemis. Natarle looks out the window and sees several Strike Daggers patrolling the area along with some Moebius armed with an improved linear gun. She notices that several Strike Daggers are equipped with parts from the Moebius, presumingly the Alliance attempt of a Striker Pack System.

David and his team enter the hangar bay where they pass by hundreds of workers working on new projects, repairing damaged vehicles, or scavenging ZAFT mobile suits.

"Oh, wow! They already have Striker Packs of the Strike Dagger ready.", Dian said. "But none of them looks like the ones used by the Strike."

"That's because they use too much power for the Strike Dagger much simpler battery.", Stan said. "Which is why Artemis is developing different Striker Packs and new weapons for our mobile suits."

"So these are the command type.", David said staring at his new mobile suit. It appears to be a combination of the Strike Dagger and limited Dagger units. David then notices that the beam sabers are on the back rather than on the hip. "Impressive."

"That's not all.", Tanya said reading the specs. "This unit can mount the Striker Packs of both the Strike and the Assault Shrouds for the Strike Daggers."

David then notices a peculiar mobile suit being worked on by the mechanics.

"Isn't this the EA's own mobile suit before the contract with Orb where we got the blueprints for the Daggers?", David asks.

"Yes, about one hundred were made by the time, but production came to a halt when they proved too expensive compared to the cheaper Dagger series especially the with rare metals found in the Jupiter sector.", Tanya explains. "This unit is the 101st and the last one."

"Why aren't they scrapped?", David asks.

"They have an advantage that any mobile suits currently lack and that is to launch itself into space and handle atmospheric entry without issue thanks to the metal used for the armor.", Tanya said.

"So it can intercept ZAFT drop pods before they can open.", David said.

"Why do I get the feeling that you're going to take that as your mobile suit?", Dian mutters.

"What's this unit called?", David asks.

"The EAI-01 Pincer."

In a cafe, Murrue and Natarle are looking over the files given to them by Jonathan on new crew members for the Archangel.

"Not bad none of them are high ranking officers, but then again it wouldn't help since they don't know anything about the Archangel.", Murrue sighs. "Looks like I'm still stuck as captain."

"Still we do need a security force since the ones stationed in Heliopolis were killed.", Natarle said taking a sip of her tea. "And some extra engineers will help out with repairs."

"Yes, ZAFT will try to destroy the ship, but Blue Cosmo will do anything to take it for themselves.", Murrus said closing the folder. "We'll have to be extra careful should we encounter them."

"True, you may never know where they may be.", Natarle said as her eyes stare at a pair of men sitting closeby staring at them. Murrue turns her head causes the two men to look away to avoid suspicion.

"Indeed.", Murrue said finishing her coffee, pay her bill and leave with Natarle. The two men quietly follow them.

"We should see Murdoch and see how the resupplying is going."

Nicole hides his Blitz in an abandoned warehouse located in the civil area of Artemis, before getting out wearing civilian clothes in order to blend in with the crowd.

"Well, time for work.", Nicole said walking to the city.

Cagalli, Kira, and Mu, wearing their spacesuits, are among the few to wander the hanger area of Artemis. There they can see many new modifications on mobile suits, ships and surprisingly mobile armors.

"I'm surprised that they are still working on Mobile Armor despite having mobile suits now.", Cagalli said.

"Well some pilots have strong pride with their Mobile Armors, plus Blue Cosmos and LOGOS are funding most of their money on the B.A.T.s and only give us just enough.", David said. "So we have to make do with what we have. Fortunately, we still believe in the 3 Rs."

"This isn't right! The B.A.T.s were meant to help humanity, but instead are being used as weapons of war.", Cagalli said in disgust. "They weren't even called B.A.T.s in the first place as well."

"In this world greed never fails to motivate.", David said. "That's reality."

"It's amazing how much technology has advanced.", Mu said upon seeing some Construction B.A.T.s refitting a Drake-Class. "And all because of a war."

"There's always good and bad things to gain on everything.", David said. "You just have to know how to handle it."

CLOSING HANGER DOORS! ANTI-GRAVITY ONLINE! OXYGEN STABLE!

The group removes their helmets before proceeding with the tour, but Kira bumps into someone causing him to drop an object to the floor.

"I'm so sorry! I broke your spy camera.", Kira said picking up the pieces before realizing what he just said. "Spy camera?"

David notices a blue B tattoo on the man's neck.

"Blue Cosmos!", David shouts grabbing his pistol, but the spy backhands him to the ground.

"We've been compromised go!", the spy calls out to the others among the group signaling them to escape and report back to the commander.

David gets back up, grabs the spy's arm and swings him to a metal crate.

One of the spies jumps onto a motorbike and rides off, but Mu grabs a machine gun from the rack and fires. The bullets hit the bike causing it to explode propelling the corpse to the air.

David throws two punches to the face and a kick to the chest at the spy knocking him out to the ground.

Cagalli then sees two more jumps onto their bikes and heading off.

"Look there! Two more of them!", Cagalli shouts chasing after them.

"Wait! Cagalli!", Kira shouts chasing after Cagalli. The two boards the last bike and gives chase.

"Hey, wait!", Mu shouts seeing them leave, but the last spy grabs onto him. Mu responds by flipping him to the ground hard.

"We've got to take them out before the warned the others!", Cagalli said as she increases speed as Kira struggles to hold on.

"Where did you learn how to ride a bike?!", Kira exclaims hanging onto his dear life.

"I didn't!"

"Wait, what?!"

"Look out!"

Kira sees one of the spies slowing down to get next to them and swings his baton. Kira catches is, but receives an electrical shock forcing him to let go. The spy makes another swing, but Kira kicks the bike to gain so distance. The spy decides to ram them to the side, but the moment he does Kira jumps onto his bike and throws him off.

"Damn it! In that case!", the other spy curse before punching some buttons on a remote.

"Now what?!", David mutters upon hearing banging inside one of the metal crates and then engine noise. "Take cover!"

Everyone hits the ground as two automated bikes, Pursuits, burst out of the metal crate and heads to the direction where Kira and Cagalli went.

The two Pursuits quickly catch up to the chase and fires a missile. The missile misses and alerted Kira and Cagalli.

"Keep on that one! I'll take these two!", Kira said as he hit the brakes allowing the two Pursuits to go past him before restarting the engine. Kira then fires the bike machine guns at one of the Pursuits. Though the Pursuits are armored against machine guns, the tires are not. The back tire was shot causing it to lose control and then crash.

The Pursuit takes the right side of the split-path with Kira following, while Cagalli and the spy take the left path.

The spy quickly increases speed to escape, but Cagalli continues to be persistent and continues to give chase eventually catching up to the spy. Fed up with this, the spy grabs his pistol and fires on her, but have difficulty aiming due to using one hand to maintain stability and looking back and forth, thus he fires randomly. He fires three shots; one missing completely, the second grazing Cagalli's cheek and the third hitting the bike causing her to fall off.

The spy momentarily looks back to see an explosion from the bike and smile in satisfaction, but as he looks to the front he screams and crashes to the feet of a Strike Dagger on guard. The pilot of the mobile suit looks down in confusion.

Back with Kira, he was having trouble with the final Pursuit as he was able to destroy the first one with the element of surprise. The other is fully prepared as it stands on its back wheel to do a 180-degree turn and fire its heavy machine guns. Kira swerves to the right to avoid the bullets. The Pursuit then changes tactics by charging straight towards him.

Unable to avoid it in time, Kira quickly grabs the pistol on the bike before jumping off as the Pursuit rams through.

"Kira with a pistol that he doesn't know how to use, heavily armed robot bike coming after him…not good, not good.", Kira mutters as the Pursuit makes a sharp turn to finish him off.

Kira fires his pistol only to get a click. Kira pulls the trigger again and receives another click.

"What's wrong with this thing?!"

Kira quickly hides behind some debris before the Pursuit fire its machine guns. Knowing that the debris can't hold up the barrage, Kira quickly and failing to get the pistol working as the Pursuit closes in.

"There it is!", Kira said removing the safety on his gun and then fires on the Pursuit aiming for headlights that serve as the eyes. The bullets pierce through the glass damaging the internal circuits causing the Pursuit to spiral out of control and then crash.

Kira sighs in relief before walking back on foot.

Elsewhere Cagalli lies unconscious as a shadow slowly approaches her and places a hand onto her shoulder.
