Leo didn't know what his life was.

He was on an island, he was a teacher. He was altered, stronger than an average human due to injuries. Injuries no human could ever recover from.

He had felt his body adjusting to the bionics, he could feel them expand slowly in his body. The bionics trying to complete the link in his body.

Not that he had said anything. Eddy didn't say anything either, enjoying watching Leo squirm in pain and try and make excuses for his recent sporadic behavior. He also took a sick satisfaction from his other mark of maturity. He had assumed that, like his mother, he would be practically human.

He was wrong. Horribly wrong.

It did seem true, that girls did mature faster than boys, and even then, he was an apparent late bloomer on top of that.

And... He had no one to teach him.

So far, he was just trying to keep quiet and keep control. Though, it helped that Bree and Chase were gone doing, whatever, and that he was left with a busy Douglas and Adam. So far, he only had to cover up his smoke scented clothes, and a few singed items. Well, and his now routine ten minute meditation.

As it was, he was in the middle of one of his meditations. Taking deep breaths and attempting to calm his inner fire. He could feel the flames licking the inside of his throat, begging to be let out.

"Hey Shorty!"

Leo's eyes flew open and he choked a bit, flames just barely escaping past his lips. He gave a slight cough, smoldering the flame, turning it into smoke.

"Adam. What brings you here?"

"Um... I sleep here? I do sleep here right?"

"Yeah Adam, I just thought you'd still be walking around."

"Naw. I got a new video game and I'm going to play it."

"Right okay," Leo said trying to cover another smoky cough.

"You smell smoke?"

"Erm. Sorry, I uh, had a little mishap in the lab."

"Oh, okay then."

"Erm. I think I left something in the lab. I'll be back," Leo said quickly, getting to his feet.

"Kay," Adam said focusing on his game. Leo ran out of the room and out into the open. He took a deep breath released a flame into the sky as his brother shot virtual people in his game.

He could feel his stress melt away with every second the flame escaped his mouth. He took in a deep breath and felt his back muscles stretch. Warmth bloomed as he felt appendages stretch from his shoulder blades. He rolled his shoulders and felt the appendages reach towards the sky. He glanced over his shoulder to see deep and dark red wings. They were thin and scaly, but he knew their strength all too well.

He had taken to the sky before, along with dragging his mother. He had been more than a little surprised at his own strength at the time.

Then again, he had been just discovering that he actually had inherited the family line from his grandfather. The same one that had skipped his father. The fact that he was one of many dragons hiding around the world. Not one responsible for a country or territory given the elder dragon born just mere days before him. And even then, Leo hadn't received his fire or wings until just under a year ago.

He took a few deep breaths and spread his wings. His pupils began to turn to slits as he focused on the sky. He wanted nothing more than to take off into the sky and follow the clouds. His fingers felt ready to rip into his talons, and his body was ready to rip out of the soft flesh and grow his own fierce scales. Instead, he lowered his head and felt his wings dissipate inside his body with a flare of fire. He closed his eyes and focused on his human like senses. He felt tightly wound, but not ready to snap.

It was his curse.

It was his burden.

And this is bad idea number... I don't even know.

So, dragon Leo. Like American Dragon style.
