Summary-A/N: The obligatory Adams Family X-Over since I saw a part of an Addams Family movie while I was out and about and this popped into my head. This really should be the prolog for something longer but I don't know if I will ever write it. If anyone should want to adopt it, let me know as I would be interested in reading it.

The Call of Family

Severus Snape Frowned at the odd behavior displayed by the students. Shifting, scurrying, and screaming were not normal on a Thursday morning two days before Halloween. Unless… no the Weasley twins looked as truly puzzled as he felt.

There were also envelopes flying, seemingly up from the floor to be caught by specific people. These students, Potter, Lovegood, Zabini, Frump and several others of various ages, seemed to be the only pockets of calm in the otherwise chaotic Great Hall.

The unusual activity was suddenly explained when a disembodied hand jumped on to the center of the head table and skittered down to present an envelope to Severus.

The Potions Master's only comment was a polite, "Thank you, Thing." It only took a moment for the contents of the letter to cause him to react.

When Severus stood and the hand had leapt to his shoulder all those that had received letters followed. They unconsciously formed a flying wedge as they headed for the entrance hall, halting only briefly at the Umbrage's little cough, "He-hem! And just where, do you think you are you going?"

Severus snorted as he held up the envelope with the crest and motto, 'Sic Gorgiamus Allos Subjectatos Nunc!' clearly visible to all. "When the Head of the Family calls, all in the Family answer."

Umbrage was left standing in the middle of the Great Hall, knowing that he was right and furious that there was truly nothing she could do. There was simply no way she would or could to go against that family. She abruptly turned to the Headmaster, "Well Albus, aren't you going to do something?"

Dumbledore simply looked at her, "About what, Deloris? Or would you prefer I ask Severus to have his Head of Family to come here? Probably with a hoard of other family members?"

There was a large swell of babble around the Hall as the those of pure blood explained just why that would be a bad idea to those that had not understood just who was being spoken of and what the Latin phrase meant.

Umbrage's eyes had gone very round and bulged out of the sockets enhancing her toad like appearance as Dumbledore continued, "I am sorry Deloris, but I am neither insane, nor foolish, enough to invite that amount of trouble to Hogwarts."
