Notes: I just like the dynamic between Onoda and Manami so I had to write about it. Also I head-canon that Makishima is a lot more protective of Onoda than people think. I don't really write a lot of shounen-ai so it may not be super amazing but I thought this drabble would be fun to write. Disclaimer: I do NOT own Yowamushi Pedal or the characters, this is purely a work of fiction.

Title: More Than A Rival

Pairing(s): Manami Sangaku X Onoda Sakamichi, Toudou Jinpachi X Makishima Yuusuke

At first glance, no one would think that something was up. However, if you took another glance, then you would see it and you'd back off if you knew what was best for you.

Onoda Sakamichi, Sohoku's little otaku climber, was taken.

It was kind of a strange thing to witness, that such a sweet-natured otaku was sought out by a handsome prince-like looking climber from another team. But Manami was absolutely infatuated and no one could stop him.

"Someone's got a crush on glasses-kun~" Toudou said quietly as he put an arm around Makishima.

The green haired climber turned his head to his rival, "Sho?"

Toudou smirked, "Look over to the left."

Makishima did and saw Onoda chatting happily under a tree with Hakone's first-year climber. The blue haired boy wore a happy smile on his face and was leaning in close to Onoda, one hand braced against the trunk of the tree while the other one clutched the handlebar of his bike.

The green haired climber frowned, "I blame your influence for this."

"I'm hurt Maki-chan, it's as if you're implying I'm responsible for all this! I only suggested Manami that he should foster his relationship with his new rival since glasses-kun's the only one who ever beat him in a race." Toudou said, "But it looks like he wants more than just that."

"Sho." Makishima huffed and then tensed as he saw Manami removed Onoda's glasses and start wiping them off with the towel that Onoda held. "He's a bold kid."

Toudou laughed at this remark.

"Tell him not to get too bold with Sakamichi." Makishima said seriously, "If he tries to hurt him in any way…"

"Don't worry Maki-chan! He knows he needs to behave in front of you!" Toudou said as he leaned his head against Makishima's shoulder, "And believe me, if he did anything to hurt glasses-kun I would step in."

Makishima let out a relaxed sigh and shifted his weight, "Good to know, because I'd excecute him."

"Hahaha! Who knew you had such an overprotective side Maki-chan." Toudou said as he pulled Makishima closer towards him while the green haired climber rolled his eyes.
