"…Let me get this straight?" Sadie Kane stared incredulously at Eve and Jenkins, (since Flynn was currently busy elsewhere, as he often was). "Apophis – well, his shadow - took over another body and caused an explosion here, in order to bring forth Anubis?"

"Not so much Anubis, as his ghost," Eve corrected politely, seeing that the girl was noticeably upset and angry at this epiphany. "Me and Jenkins didn't get a good look at it, before the collider got reactivated and sucked them all back from where they initially came-"

"The Duat," Walt Stone corrected as he emerged from behind the now-defunct collider. "Sadie, this is an artefact, all right. It is connected to the Duat; the Duat accumulates here and generates, or produces manifestations of the Duat."

"The Duat?" Eve asked Jenkins; the latter nodded and listened to Walt very attentively, clearly having a better idea of what the younger man was talking about than Eve did (obviously).

"Yes," Walt nodded again. "The Duat. The Duat is…malleable; this…machine, or artefact, or whatever you can call it, forces and moulds the Duat into whatever it wants, including demons of lycanthropy and the like."

"Demons of lycanthropy?" Eve raised an eyebrow; Walt blushed:

"Never mind. Um, Sadie?"

"Yeah," Sadie Kane nodded to her boyfriend in reply. "Since it involves the Duat, we'll be taking over this thingamajig, okay?"

"Yes," Eve nodded, "but you're certain that Anubis wasn't involved?"

"Yes," Walt replied, half-reluctantly and half-unhappily. "I've descended from Anubis, so to speak; I would feel if something was wrong with him…"

"So, you can turn into a jackal?" Eve raised the previously lowered eyebrow.

"…No, I actually didn't get that bit," Walt twitched. "Sadie, help me out?"

"You're on your own on this one," Sadie told her boyfriend. "Carter and Zia told me that the Librarians were good people, and so did uncle – I mean, the chief lector, Amos."

Walt just groaned.
