His Lady was the best thing that had ever happened to him.
So beautiful, he loved when those blue gems saw only him, when there was no one else in the world but them. She was stunning, gorgeous, a goddess, so much cuter than those models he had seen over the years. The way she held herself left him breathless, her kind, strong personality leaving no doubts in his mind that she was the one. And when she spoke, with such a sweet voice, it was enough to make him forget everything else. She was perfect, with her confident smile that could easily bring him on his knees.
His Lady had his heart in her hands, and for once, he didn´t feel afraid of giving it away, because he knew, that in the end, she would treasure it, even if she never returned his feelings. He knew that she loved him like a friend, and for him, it was enough for now. After all, friendship was the start of everything.
His Lady, Ladybug, held the heart of Cat Noir. The black unlucky cat belonged to her, to his lady. All he had was hers; his heart, his mind, his soul.
Adrien, on other hand, was not Cat Noir.
Even though they were supposed to be the same person, they were not, they could not.
Cat Noir loved his Lady, Adrien admired her. Cat Noir could fight to protect his Lady; Adrien could do nothing but watch as she fought. Cat Noir loved his Lady; Adrien had feelings for a certain princess.
Adrien´s princess was beautiful too, and caring, and warm. Her eyes sparkled as she worked on her designs, imagination going wild. His princess adored the normal Adrien, the one that struggled with his father´s coldness, the one that hid his insecurities under a mask. Marinette, such a lovely name, was a beautiful person, with twinkling blue eyes, and an equally iridescent personally.
Princess, as he called her, was so much more than what everyone thought. She was brave, she was kind, she was perfect in her own way. A princess that owned a prince´s heart, she held in her hands the fragile heart of Adrien, and she treasured it, much more than he thought he deserved. For her, Adrien was ready to do anything.
A Lady and a Princess.
There were two of them, so perfect, so beautiful. Two kind souls that accepted them with ease, never asking for anything in return.
Adrien and Cat Noir.
They were supposed to be the same person, to love the same person. And yet, their heart yearned for different people. Cat liked Marinette, she was a wonderful person, but his heart only had space for his lady. Adrien adored Ladybug, she was his idol, but there was no one who accepted him the way Marinette did.
His heart was slowly tearing itself apart. But it was fine. For now, everything was alright. Because they still were children, because the love still was easy. Because they were still playing heroes. Because his lady still hid from him; because his princess still asked nothing in return.
And once that day came, when they stopped hiding behind masks, he would show them neither Adrien nor Cat Noir, but the little insecure child that lost everyone he loved, the one who desired to be loved more than anything. And the one that remained, the one who accepted that little stray cat, would become his Queen.
