"Wow! I can't believe I manage to update this chapter!" said Amaya

"This could be a new record for you" said her friend Natsuki

"I know!" said Amaya cheerfully "Now then, everyone to your positions!"

"Okay everyone get everything read" ordered Natsuki "Candles over here, extra characters over there and Toothless..." Natsuki hold up fairy godmothers wand and points it at the dragon "Bibbidi Bobbidi Bo!"

"Hiccup where's Gobber?" asked Amaya

"I'll go get him" said Hiccup as he went to find him

"And Merida are your brothers-"

"They are ready" said Merida as she had them all dress up "But it was nae easy"

"Oh trust me, I believe you" said Amaya "Now I'm sure that everyone knows that this will be the scene where the song God Help the Outcast appere, well Esmerald won't be the only one singing the song, Merida will sing too"

"What?!" exclaimed Merida

"So when you get to read that part imagine in your head that you are watching a music video, and the scenes changes when someone else will start to sing" explain Amaya "Hope that helps you all"

"What do ye mean Aam goin' tae sing?!"

"No time!" said Natsuki "Let's begin!"

This mean "Sing" someone is siging alone. This means "Sing" that a group of people is singing. And this means "Sing" singing in duet

"Enjoy the Show!"

Chapter 6: God help the Outcast

Phoebus and the guards were searching for the gypsy girl and her two followers all over the place, all the Parisian were leaving because of the rain and also the guards kept rushing them away. Esmeralda was still in her old man disguise and was trying to leave the area but no matter where she turns there were guards all over the place, if she doesn't find a place to hide quickly they'll catch her for sure. Esmeralda continued walking and notices the cathedral up ahead, having no other choice she made her way to Notre Dame to hide until it was safe for her to escape. The Captain of the guards notice the old man pass by and look with suspicious eyes, Phoebus sees that the old man was heading towards the church, a smirk formed on his face having a pretty good idea who the old man really was.

When Esmeralda entered the church she immediately close the door, took off her disguise knowing that she was safe and Djali got off her, but the moment her eyes gaze at the inside of Notre Dame she was awestruck by what she saw. The gypsy girl was completely entrance by the structure of the church, from the columns, to the candles lights, the wide halls and the soft light that spread all over the place. Esmeralda has lived her whole life in Paris and has seen Notre Dame practically every day but she has never entered it. And she never imagine it to be this big and beautiful and you can feel the church resonate an aura of peace and safety.

Unbeknownst to the gypsy girl the Captain of the guards managed to enter the church alone without being notice and was slowly walking up to her. Esmeralda feels someone approaching from behind her so in a swift movement she turns around, one hand grabs on to the Captains front cape, the other grabs his sword and then she pulls him down to the floor and points the end of the sword at him.

"You!" sneered Esmeralda.

Phoebus kept his eyes on the sharp blade as he crawled backwards "Easy, easy-I-I just shaved this morning"

"Oh, really? You missed a spot" said Esmeralda pointing the sword closer to the Captain's neck.

Phoebus was back tracked until his back touch a column and he raised his hands up "All right, all right, just c-calm down. Just give me a chance to apologies"

Esmeralda eyed him suspiciously "For what?"

She regretted letting her guard down for a split second, cause in that moment the Captain quickly grabs the sword from her hands and used his right foot to kick her feet which cause her to slip and fall.

"That, for example" said Phoebus.

Esmeralda glares at him "You sneaky son of a-"

"Ah, ah, ah! Watch it" warned Phoebus looking around with cautious "You're in a church"

Esmeralda stands up from the floor and her lips formed a sly smile as she grabs a metal candle holder "Are you always this charming, or am I just lucky?" She swings the staff like metal at the Captain, who blocks it with his sword and they began to fight each other.

Phoebus made a pleasant laugh for this fun match he's having with the gypsy girl as the cling sounds of the sword and metal staff collided "Candlelight...privacy... music. Can't think of a better place for hand-to-hand combat! Oh!"

The Captain blocks a swing from below and then from above and looked at the gypsy girl with impressed eyes "You fight almost as well as a man!"

"Funny. I was going to say the same thing about you" remarked Esmeralda as she used the metal staff to push the Captain back.

"That's hitting a little below the belt, don't you think?" voiced Phoebus.

Esmeralda smirked "No. This is" she swings the head of the staff at the Captains' crotch. Phoebus blocks it with his sword but then she quickly hits him in the face with the end of the staff.

Phoebus shakes it off and exclaimed "Touche!" And before he knew it the gypsy girl's goat companion head butts him in the chest and was glad he had his armor "I didn't know you had a kid"

"Well, he doesn't take kindly to soldiers" said Esmeralda as she and Djali kept their defenses up.

"Eh, I noticed" said Phoebus still feeling a bit of the pain on his abdomen "Permit me. I'm Phoebus. It means sun god" He gave a flashy smile.

Both Esmeralda and Djali had the same expression that they weren't impressed by his smile and made eye contact as if saying 'is he serious'.

Phoebus sees that his friendly greeting wasn't working and starts to feel a bit foolish "And you are?" He asked trying to break the awkward silence.

"Is this an interrogation?" Esmeralda questioned him.

"It's called an introduction" said Phoebus as he puts away his sword to show that he doesn't want to fight and won't harm her.

Esmeralda looked confuse by his action "You're not arresting me?"

"Not as long as you're in here. I can't" replied Phoebus.

Esmeralda was really surprise by the Captain words and couldn't help but feel that he was being sincere "Huh. You're not at all like the other soldiers" she said as she puts down the candle holder.

"Thank you" He says.

Esmeralda crosses her arms and had a serious look "So, if you're not going to arrest me, what do you want?"

Phoebus gave a simple smile "I'd settle for your name"

Esmeralda didn't quite expect that but that didn't stop the smile on her lips "Esmeralda"

"Beautiful" voiced Phoebus "Much better than Phoebus anyway"

Esmeralda still smile at him and couldn't stop looking at the blonde soldiers, Djali look baffled that his human female companion was actually liking the stupid human male.

Phoebus knew that his orders were to capture the gypsy girl but was ignoring it; he knew that she wasn't bad but simply a smart-headstrong woman who knows how to handle herself, and he wouldn't mind wanting to just stay near her and looked at her beautiful eyes for hours.

Esmeralda never liked guards, she basically grew up hating them but knew that this particular soldier was indeed different especially when he help her out earlier, and she couldn't help look at his smile and sky blue eyes.

"Good work, Captain!"

Phoebus and Esmeralda looked towards the entrance of the church and were surprise that they were so lost in their gaze towards each other that neither of them notices Frollo nor his guards entering the church.

"Now, arrest her" ordered Frollo.

Phoebus turns to Esmeralda and whispers to her "Claim sanctuary"

But Esmeralda only glares at him mentally hitting herself for trusting the soldier for even a second, Phoebus was confuse to why she won't say it but didn't really have time to wonder about it and looks at her with urgent "Say it!"

"You tricked me!" said Esmeralda with anger radiating in her voice.

Phoebus new that if she didn't say 'Sanctuary' he will have no choice but to arrest her and a part of him really didn't want to do it.

"I'm waiting, Captain" said Frollo as he and the guards approached the two of them.

Phoebus knew that she won't say it so he turns around and spoke "I'm sorry, sir. She claims sanctuary. There's nothing I can do" he reported knowing very well that she will hate him more than she already has but knew that it was the only way to protect her.

"Then drag her outside at—"

"Frollo! You will not touch her!"

The Archdeacon approaches the gathered party and wouldn't you know it, it was the same man that stopped the Judge 20 years ago from drowning the Hunchback. The Archdeacon walks towards the gypsy girl and places a hand on her shoulder "Don't worry" he spoke sounding calm to let her know that she was safe and looks back threatening at the judge "Minister Frollo learned years ago to respect the sanctity of the church".

Frollo glares at the Archdeacon who stopped him years ago and he constantly keeps reminding him for his sins and he was once again interfering with his matters. But having no other choice he wave his hands to the guards to turn and leave but Frollo ducks around a pillar and sneaks back without anyone noticing.

Phoebus was glad that they were leaving but hoped that he could stay and fix the small misunderstanding with the gypsy girl but knew that he couldn't stay as the Archdeacon grabbed his arm and began dragging him out. Esmeralda sees the blonde soldier turn his head to look at her one last time and let himself be hollered out, and now a part of her didn't know if he could be trusted or not. Djali however never trust or liked him, so the goat runs over to the soldier and began head butting him to make him get out quickly in which cause Esmeralda to smile.

"Alright, alright, I'm going!" said Phoebus as he already got the idea that the goat hates him.

Esmeralda was so distracted by the silly display that she failed to notice Frollo jump out from behind her and grabbed her left arm and twists it behind her back.

Frollo twisted the gypsy girl's arm more tightly with one hand which made her hiss with pain, while the other hand held her shoulder and then he whispers into her ear "You think you've outwitted me, but I am a patient man, and gypsies don't do well inside stone walls" He pauses then breathes deeply into her raven hair.

"What are you doing?" Esmeralda asked suspiciously.

Frollo caresses her neck and spoke "I was just imagining a rope around that beautiful neck"

Esmeralda took that moment to hit the Judge and then pulled away from him "I know what you were imagining" she said staring angrily at Frollo for his disgusting action.

"Such a clever witch, so typical of your kind to twist the truth to cloud the mind with unholy thoughts" quoted Frollo glaring at gypsy girl with hate and disgust. He then turns around and starts leaving "Well, no matter. You've chosen a magnificent prison, but it is a prison nonetheless. Set one foot outside and you're mine!" He lastly said as he walk out of the church doors.

After hearing those words Esmeralda eyes widen with worry, she spotted another door and rushed towards it. When she opened it to her disbelief she finds guards outside waiting for her.

"Frollo's orders!" Said one Guard on a horse "Post a guard at every door!"

Esmeralda slams the door shut with frustration and then lays her back on the hard wooden door not believing that she was really trapped in the cathedral. She slides down until her rear end touches the floor and just sits there with her knees close to her chest and her arms crossed.

It was still raining outside and the guards were posted around the Church to capture the gypsy girl, meanwhile some of the other guards were also going around the area looking for the gypsy girl's followers. Two guards notice a dirty old woman pass by them but didn't care for her as they kept searching.

The old woman kept walking in the rain until she arrives at a blacksmith shop and sees a big man with blond hair and mustache who was fixing a bent sword with a hammer that was attached to his wrist where his hand should be; she could hear him whistling a nice tune and kept working despite the weather. As soon as she got close the blacksmith notice her approach, his blue eyes inspects her appearance and went back to his work.

"Ye better go home mam" spoke the Blacksmith "This rain will make ye sick if ye donrt take care"

"Ah have nae place tae go back tae" said the old lady with a raspy voice "Is thaur any chance Ah coods take shelter in yer warm home?"

The Blacksmith stopped hammering the bent sword that was now straight and then he set the sword inside a barrel filled with water, steamed came out and he pulls the sword out and observes it "I suppose ye could stay haur until it clears up. There's a back door over thaur that leads up to the house. So go aheid and make yerself comfortable".

The old woman walks into the forge and feels warmth on her body thanks to the fire that was still burning. She makes her way to the door and opens it, but before she enters she turns her head to the blacksmith "Merci Gobber" she says with a faint smile as she enters and closed the door.

The blacksmith now known as Gobber continues working with a smile on his face.

The old woman was walking up the stairs until she reach the floor that was above the smithy, the stairs keep going on to another floor but she stop on the first. She gave three hard knocks on the wooden door and waited a few seconds until it opened and a young man with auburn hair appeared and stood there with a kind smile "Can I help you mam?"

The old woman stood up straight and then pulls down her hood, then she took off her bonnet which released her massive curly red hair "Weel Hiccup, ye can help by gettin' me a buckit of water tae get this paint off mah face" said the old woman who was none other than Merida in disguise.

Hiccup laughs and lets her in "I'll be right back" he went up the stairs that lead to the attic.

Merida entered and closed the door as she made herself comfortable at Hiccup and Gobber's home. There was a kitchen with cabinets and shelves up on the wall, a living room with only one couch and a chair by the windows, on the left wall was a chimney with a fire already on, and on the right wall were two doors. It was a small place but it was comfy and a bit homey.

Merida dropped her stuff on the wooden couch and walk towards the windows. She leans on the wall before giving a sigh and watched as each drop of water from the rain hit the glass and slide down. The fire gypsy's mind was overflown with the events that transpire at the Festival of Fools. Of all the craziest things that had ever happen at the festival this might be the craziest of them all, from their performance, to the mysterious bell ringer and going against Judge Claude Frollo, it was truly unbelievable. This will be one festival of fools that no one will never forget.

Through the window Merida notices a few soldiers near the smithy and could see them scouting the area, she grabs the blue curtain that was hanging above and slides it to block the view from inside the house. Obviously they were looking for Esmeralda, Jack, and herself, which made the fire gypsy to worry for them. But she hopes that they are doing alright and will see them again when they meet up at the usual hide out. She hears the door open and turns to see the auburn hair boy walk in with a towel and a bundled of clothes on his arms "I have two pots of water down at the forge for the tub, and here are some spare clothes that you can wear"

"Ah only need a buckit tae wash mah face Hiccup, not a bath" stated Merida.

"Well unless you want to wake up tomorrow with a cold, you should take a nice warm bath" replied Hiccup placing the clothes and towel on the coach.

"Ah dornt get sick e-eas-Achoo!" sneezed Merida.

Hiccup smirks "I rest my case".

Merida narrowed her eyes at him but then took of her cloak and handed it to Hiccup "Have ye seen or heard anythin' from mah brothers?"

Hiccup nodded and placed the cloak near the fireplace to let it dry "They're upstairs eating Gobber's famous stew"

Merida scoffed at that "They really loove that stuff"

"I'll say. They can't get enough of it" laugh Hiccup as he grab the bucket and made his way to one of the two doors on the left wall, and behind the door that was next to the other door that was close to the window was the bathroom.

There was just a big wooden tub and a barrel full of water, Hiccup filled the bucket up and dip a white cloth in it. He then walks out and gave the bucket to Merida who gladly took it, and made her way to the fireplace. She sat down near it and placed the bucket next to her, she grab the white cloth and rinsed it then began wiping the paint off her face. Hiccup went to the kitchen and grab a metal pot, filled it with water and placed it on the fire place to prepare tea "By the way, your performance today was really surprising"

"Really?"

Hiccup crossing his arms and leaned on the wall "Well I didn't expect to see you on stage"

Merida gave a sly smile "That was th' plan"

"Then congratulation you surprise both me and Emma"

"So Ah take it that ye liked th' performance?"

"It was pretty good, considering Jack was in it" replied Hiccup in which cause both of them to laugh for his little joke.

"Speaking ay Frost, he sends his regards"

"Good to know" said Hiccup "By the way nice flip you did there with the guard"

"It was naethin' " Merida wave it off as she finished wiping her face clean "Ye shoold've seen what happened with th' guards that chase efter Jack"

Hiccup gave a know it all smile "Should I even ask?"

"Let's jist say they're havin' a nice horse ride" said Merida giving a chortle.

After a few minutes past Hiccup grabbed the pot out of the fireplace and began pouring tea on two cups. He offered one to Merida in which she gladly accept it and took a sip, the gypsy girl wasn't that much of a fan of tea but she doesn't mind if it's Hiccup who makes it. He may be a blacksmith's apprentice but the lad really knows how to make good tea "So did ye an' Emma had fun walkin' aroond the festival?" She asked.

"It was fun, but if I had to be honest Emma and Rapunzel were the ones having the time of their life" said Hiccup as took a sip from his tea "Every time they saw something new their eyes light up like fire"

"Ah see" said Merida looking at her cup "An' uh who's this Rapunzel person, yer girlfriend?"

After hearing that Hiccup chokes on his tea and starts coughing up, when he was able to catch his breath by pounding on his chest he looked at the red hair gypsy girl with a panic expression "G-G-G-Girlfriend?!"

"Naethin' tae be ashamed of Hiccup" said Merida in a neutral tone as she took another sip from the cup "Yoo're a yoong growin' boy, it's natural for ye tae be attracted tae her"

"W-W-Wait! I'm not a-attracted to her" stammered Hiccup "N-Not that she isn't attracted, I-I mean sh-she is pretty but-"

"Oooh she's pretty" voiced Merida looking at him with judging eyes "That why ye fancy her?"

"No that's, that's not what I meant! I don't fancy Rapunzel. I mean I do like her but not-"

"Hiccup!"

Both Hiccup and Merida recognize that accent voice and turn their heads to where it came from, the voice came from a metal pipe that was connected to a wall and there were other pipes as well around the room. The voice belong to Gobber, who was calling Hiccup through the pipes from the smithy below them, it was something that the young auburn boy apprentice invented, and he connected the pipes on the building so that they be able to communicate from whichever floor and room they were.

"Hiccup are ye thaur?! Can ye hear me?!"

Hiccup was thankful that his mentor called out to him at the right moment because he didn't know how much long he was going to survive Merida's interrogation. He walked towards the wall and lean close towards the pipe "I hear you Gobber!" he answered loudly "Need my help with something?"

"No. Just to let ye know that both pots are boilin' "

"I'll be down then" replied Hiccup and made a sigh. He looked back at the red hair gypsy whose eyes were looking at nothing but her cup, he made his way to the door but turn hiss his head to her "I'll be right back"

Merida gave a nod towards him and Hiccup heads down to the forge, the red hair gypsy lets out a huff of air and muttered something low that went along lines with 'Stupid Hiccup'. She placed her cup on the kitchen sink and decides to check on her brothers. Merida made her way out the door and walk up the extra set of stairs, she arrives to see a door on a ceiling and opens it. She walks up and stood on the floor of the attic but was turn into a room. The place was filled with papers, weapons, and inventions that were all made from the auburn boy, which is pretty impressive, especially when he invents things to help her and the others gypsies with their performance and to escape.

Her eyes turn to where the bed is and there laid three little boys sound asleep near a window. As she got close the fire gypsy couldn't help but smile at her brothers, and wouldn't you know it they were triplets. The three were completely identical, from their messy red hair, to the freckles across their faces and the tip of their noses. Their names are Hamish, Hubert, and Harris they're ten of age and were wearing identical clothes; a long sleeve blue shirt, gray trousers and a black sarong around their waist and the three of them were barefoot, something that she blames a certain white hair gypsy for that. Something soft grazes Merida's hand and looks down to see a black German shepherd looking at her with the sweetest puppy dog eyes and his tail wagging with happiness. Merida smiles at the big dog and scratches him behind his ear "Hi Toothless" Toothless replied by barking at her but she quickly silence the dog "Shhh… Yoo'll wake th' wee devils" she said indicating her brothers.

Merida sat down by the edge of the bed and couldn't help looking at them with worry, as a big sister and as their guardian. Merida knew that her brothers despite their age were very clever and big tricksters, thanks to the help of their gypsy friends. Part of her wonders what they'll be like when they grow up, eventually she won't have to look out for them and they'll want to do something with their lives. But Merida knew very well that it won't be easy, since their gypsies and no matter where they go no one would welcome them or accept them.

Toothless could feel the red hair gypsy's sadness and place his head on her lap to show his concern, which made Merida smile a little and caress the dog's head.

Esmeralda was still on the floor thinking a way to escape, but nothing came to mind, unless she wants to get capture by the guards, her only option was to stay in the church until she figures something out. A part of her was also thinking of Jack and Merida, she hopes that the two of them hadn't got caught and were doing better than she is.

The gypsy girl suddenly felt something graze her arms and sees that it was her friend goat Djali "Don't worry Djali, if Frollo thinks he can keep us here, he's wrong" she stated.

"Don't act rashly, child" spoke the Archdeacon as he was lighting up some candles "You created quite a stir at the festival. It would be unwise to arouse Frollo's anger further"

"You saw what he did out there" said Esmeralda as she stood up from the floor, still feeling anger for what happened "Letting the crowd torture that poor boy. I thought if just one person could stand up to him, then..." She makes a big sigh and look towards the church man for answers "What do they have against people who are different, anyway?"

The Archdeacon understands the gypsy girl's frustration, there are indeed people out there who mistreat anyone who is different no matter how they look or speak. And even he himself may know many things but he doesn't have all the answers to the world's problem.

He place a hand on the gypsy girl's back and walks her along with him "You can't right all the wrongs in this world by yourself"

Esmeralda didn't like hearing that because it's true but still doesn't feel right "Well no one out there's going to help, that's for sure"

The Archdeacon gave a soft laugh and motions towards the inside of the church around them "Well, perhaps there's someone in here who can" he then exits and leaves the gypsy girl's alone.

Esmeralda watched him leave and then moves towards a wall and leaned on it, as she lets the words of the Archdeacon sink in. The gypsy girl looks to her left and sees a few adults and children on their knees, with their eyes closed and hands together as they prayed to their Lord. Esmeralda never judges anyone for their religion or belief, and she's never been a religious person herself, she merely believes in the ways of her people and always lived that way. But a part of her sometimes feels that perhaps there could be a God that watches over them, and it may seem meaningless but a little prayer can help even the smallest of people, even an outcast like her.

Esmeralda turn her gaze forward and her eyes looked upon the statue of a woman holding a child. She couldn't help walk closer to it and then began to sing

I don't know if you can hear me

Or if you're even there

I don't know if you would listen

To a gypsy's prayer

Yes I know I'm just an outcast, I shouldn't speak to you

Still I see your face and wonder

Were you once an outcast too?

Merida is stroking one of her brothers head gently, she then looks out the window and sees that the rain has stop and could almost see the sky through the clouds

God help th' outcasts, hungry from birth

Show them th' mercy they donrt find on Earth

The lost an' forgotten they look to ye still

God help th' outcasts

Or nobody will

Esmeralda walks through the halls of Notre Dame slowly, unbeknownst by her that Quasimodo was watching her from a distant and sees as the shadows of those walking by float over her and sang.

I ask for wealth, I ask for fame

I ask for glory to shine on my name

I ask for love, I can possess

I ask for God and His angels to bless me

Esmeralda continues singing with sadness and pain

I ask for nothing, I can get by

But I know so many less lucky than I

Please help my people

The poor and down trod

I thought we all were the children of God

Esmeralda slowly walks towards a bright light streaming down through a giant beautiful stained glass window and stands in the center. And Quasimodo watches her from a behind a column.

Esmeralda bask in the warmth of the light and feels calmness all over her, something caresses her and looks down to see her friend goat Djali. The gypsy girl smiles and gets down on her knees and hugs Djali, feeling a bit hopeful that perhaps everything will be fine for them.

Quasi smiles glad to see that the gypsy girl was feeling alright, and he wouldn't have mind staring at her in silence but the moment was ruined.

"You! Bell ringer! What are you doing down here!?" shouted a Parisian man who spotted the hunchback "Haven't you caused enough trouble already?!"

Quasimodo was so startled that he accidentally knocks over a candle staff down that produced much noise all over the church which also caught Esmeralda's attention when she turn around and saw him.

Quasi took that moment to leave and run off towards the stair case.

"Wait!" exclaimed Esmeralda as she began chasing after the hunchback "I-I like to talk to you!"

"That was A-MAZING!" exclaimed Amaya "I'm SOO HAPPY I got to post this chapter!" Then she hugs her friend Natsuki "Thanks Natsuki for helping me with this chapter!"

"Your welcome" said Natsuki

"Ah cannae belive Ah sang" said Merida covering her face with her hair from embarassement

"I think you sounded great Merida" said Rapunzel comferting her.

"She's right Mer" said Amaya "I knew you be fine singing this song cause I knew it fit you well"

"Really?" said Merida showing her face

"Yes and you did a great, especially that last part" praised Amaya

"I thought you sounded nice Merida" said Hiccup

Merida narrowed her eyes at him "Jist nice?"

Hiccup srtated to feel nervous "Well y-y-you know you didn't uh-"

"Ooh ye thooght Ah was gonnae tae sound bad coz Aam th' only Disney princess who doesnae sing?" inquired Merida

"Yes!" Hiccup's face changed to panic when he realize what he said. Merida doesn't say anything and walks away "Merida wait! I didn't mean that!" yelled Hiccup as he goes after her.

"Moving on! The next chapter will take a while, cause what I'm going to be focusing on writing about Jack, Merida, Rapunzel and Hiccup. So it'll be a while until this fanfic gets updated" said Amaya "So please be patient"

"And most importantly leave a review" said Natsuki

"SEE YOU SOON!"

Jack flies into the room "Does anyone know why Merida is mad at Hiccup?"

"Let's just say, he didn't use the words she wanted to hear" replied Rapunzel with a nervous laugh
