Death and Rebirth

A friend of mine died today
I did not know his name
He pulled the trigger without warning
He has himself to blame.

A man I saw died today
Whom I had never met
That gun he had was menacing,
And we've learnt nothing yet.

The boy I saw who died today
Left without a trace
That is a lie, a pool of blood
Gathered by his face.

A guy downtown died today
His bones gave sickening crack
His neck was broken and hit the ground
So was his broken back.

The male I never knew died today
And he will never return
And as I saw the life leave him
I felt my insides churn.

I saw my father die today
My heart broke into shards
The men who surrounded him
Were the opposite of guards.

I watched my brother die today
He called out to me, so sad
My eyes they welled up with tears because
I felt so very bad.

My teacher was murdered today
A gun held to his face
A student driven way too far
Time and moment out of place.

A long-time friend died today
Her eyes a glassy cold
And as I watched this bastard fly
I wept out so and bold...

I saw my best friend die today,
The trigger to her head,
And at that moment I truly knew
That all of them were dead.

I saw myself die today,
I knew not the reason why,
But I felt reassured somehow,
That it was my turn to die.

Everyone died today
No one stands alone
If everyone could please just learn
To bring some peace to home.

I saw the images disappear today
As I went back to earth
And for once I saw the best thing to give
A peaceful, earthly mirth.

The doves are flying high today
They sing their songs so true
And we will never part again
If we have faith in you...

*Wow, I've posted tons of fun stuff on here today!! This poem
can go out to Jenny T, Umio (O.W.), shi-shi (S.E.), and my
(un)faithful reviewers!! ^_^ Hehe, just kidding folks! Hope you
like it, after all, it's just a tiny bit sadistic. ^_^*
*Whoops, I need a disclaimer. OK, I don't own Gundam Wing,
for the last time!! SO STOP SUEING!*
*Hehe. Well as I was saying, have fun!*
*P.S. As a serious note, ladies & gents, I'd like to also dedicate
this to those who lost their loved ones in the space ship incident,
and also in the avalanche incident. Both of those inspired this,
and I hope you find it acceptable. Thank you, and please, don't be
angry at me for my opinions. I believe those men, women, and children
were all important, and should all have lived. They will live on in our
hearts, and our memories.*
