Playtime

Toys rejoice, no school today,

For it is a Saturday.

The weekend's come, fun's on its way,

Andy's home, it's time to play.

Time to get out all the toys,

As befitting first grade boys.

The toy chest's opened, ever coy,

Woody's on top, and works his ploy,

The cowboy's out, then Slinky too,

Bo Peep and sheep, oh what to do?

A stomping T-Rex come to chew?

Woody saves them with lasso.

So the cowboy rides the 'saur,

Out comes Rocky and toys more.

A pig, potato, messy's the floor,

The rex is tamed, let's out a roar.

But then a robot with a snake,

The toys assembled, they all shake.

Aliens shall exterminate!

(I hear daleks, quite irate.)

Can aliens beat a lizard large?

Rode by Woody, who does charge?

As army men let out barrage,

RC bursts out from garage.

So the war for toydom is all waged,

Makes a mess, makes mum enraged.

But that's a small price to be paid,

For, at last, the sheep are saved.

So thus ends this time of play,

Next time shall wait for other day.

What shall come, but come what may?

And hey, next week is a birthday.
