ThePsychoPath96: If you mean is the Dark Metal series gonna appear in this story, then yes it will, but there will be no Spider-man/Batman hybrid villain, at the moment, Spider-man is the only Marvel character in the entirety of the DC multiverse, Dark Multiverse included, well baring Mephisto obviously. Still the Crawler isn't a bad name.

Jestalnaker94000: He won't get the chance, he gonna be dead by the end of this arc anyhow, but Bats will begin to catch on soon enough.

gunman: I'll be showing the downfall of Stark in the next major arc after this one when I head back over to the Marvel side of things with Blackheart's invasion of Earth. The next lemon will be after this arc ends and will be between Spider-man and one of the Birds of Prey.

Spawn Hades: Yeah, Slott's stuff has really gone down the drain once the whole Superior Spider-man thing started and it just kept going. Don't get me wrong, Spider-verse was great and so was Peter having a international company along with a whole armory of equipment to use to fight bad guys with but there was also a lot of things that I wasn't particularly interested in, like the whole Zodiac Key thing, kinda dull throughout most of it. Except when Spider-man jumped from a satellite in orbit and landed in France, that was pretty epic.

key blademaster cole: Yeah Tim is still gonna get snatched away by Oz and all that. I'm more disappointed in how the Bat family is responding to Batwoman's actions with Clayface, I mean there was literally nothing they could do at the time to stop him and by the time they did, a crap ton of people would have been dead and for what? I sincerely doubt Clayface would ever recover from that. But if you mean the whole apparently Kate joining the Colony at the very end, then yeah, that is pretty disappointing.

chimera629: How's it funny she called her dad a liar? Uh Bruce has met his uncle, and his cousin, plenty of times when they were kids. But if Thomas and Martha left Bruce in Alfred's care, ain't much Kane can do, plus he was in the army, guy got moved around a lot. If you read the Detective comics, you would know what the Colony has done besides take down Batman.

Spartan Chaos: No it'll end roughly the same in that Tim is taken by Oz and everything.

CRUDEN: Maybe but more often than not, it's Spider-man that always creates unnecessary drama between Peter and MJ. Yeah I'm still gonna do that when I get to it, it's gonna be part of what will drag Spider-man into his eventual conflict with Batman.

cabrera1234: Yeah, because by this point it's clear that Peter cannot have a relationship with a regular woman like MJ with his kind of Rouges gallery, he just can't.

Erofox: I think their saving Captain HYDRA for some sort of epic showdown with the OG Captain America. Like he forms a new Dark Avengers and starts a sort of Avengers war with captain America's team of Avengers. Peter will cross paths with the League soon enough.

Spiderman rules: Eh he kinda already has enough women already, anymore and he'll end up dead from exhaustion. Still I have two other stories where he hooks up with Power Girl, one of which he already slept with her. But I'll think it over, lot of people seem to want to see her with him in this.

darthwolf: No, after this arc I'll be focused more on his own arcs that just happen to take place in Gotham.

Powerninja: He's not particularly close to any of them so I'm not sure why would they care too much other than a friend and teammate died.

Ben10fan: No, it'll be more towards Gotham Girl he'll fill that role for.

Antihero1610: In a sense, but they'll be more busy grieving then being pissed at everyone.

DxD-Supreme: You make fair points. As for the original idea of having her with Superman, eh made sense at the time.

Mr unknow: We'll see as the story goes on, but the Pits are on Peter's radar.

Marvel Master: I suppose I could do that. Though I do have an arc planned for Peter and Cruz to team up and develop their relationship.

Zeckromizder: She may end up being in it.

Gon: I'm keeping Batwoman out of the harem.

werewolf36: I think the Justice Society would better remind Peter of the X-men, in that it's a closer knitted group that sees itself as a family. I wouldn't say that Iron man in this story is evil, so much as he believes he's the only one that seems to knows what's best for the world and is the logical choice to run it, sorta like a combination of Doctor Doom, Magneto and the Injustice Superman. Sure his end goal is a good one, peace and all that, but the method of getting there is very, very questionable. Granted many of the heroes back in Marvel won't see it that way since half of them got screwed over because of Stark's plans.

Peter wasn't sure what to expect when he and the rest of the team had finally reached the Colony's main base of operations, a lave cavern on the edges of the city's limits under Fort Richards, via Clayface and a conveniently placed waterfall that led right into the heart of said base. A small army of crazed bat loving mercenaries, some cool advance looking stuff that he may or may not try to take for a spin later when this was all said and done and maybe some crazy super doomsday weapon for some reason.

What he wasn't expecting to see was Batman, on his knees, with his uncle Jake and a squad of his bat themed soldiers aiming their weapons at said Dark Knight.

Though what he was expecting was the leader of this group of over zealous Batman fanboys to be completely shocked by the sudden arrival of the team.

Jake's eyes widened at the sight of his daughter as a mass of clay began to rise behind her "Kate, how'd you get-"

"You'll be surprised how far one can get when they have two super geniuses who've either barely hit puberty or never hit it at all" Kate said with narrowed eyes "You hit us at home, now we hit you. Sucks doesn't it?"

"Yeah" Peter said with a nod before he realized what Kate said and turned towards her "Heeeeey... just because Robin here seems a tad bit immature doesn't mean he hasn't hut puberty yet!"

"I think she was referring to you for that one" Tim snickered while spoiler rolled her eyes.

"Or both..." she muttered.

"Hey I'm plenty mature!" Peter said as he rounded on the third boy wonder "I'm so mature that I make mature people look immature"

"Shoot them!" Jake said as he backed away behind several lines of his troops while the ones closest to Peter and the rest opened fired.

"Attack!" Batwoman yelled as she flung several batarangs towards the farthest soldiers and the rest of the team sped towards the Colony while Batman began his own attack from within their lines.

"You shouldn't have brought them here!" Bruce snapped as he and Kate found themselves back to back briefly as Colony Soldiers began to drop left and right under the assault of their team.

"Bruce, with all due respect..." Kate said as she slammed a fist into one soldier before ducking under the kick of another and sending the base of her palm up and into his chin, snapping his head back as his visor cracked "Shut the hell up and be grateful we bothered to come at all!"

"Yeah, what the lady said!" Peter said as he picked a soldier up and threw him towards another group that had just emerged from a nearby hallway "Also, your welcome for saving you!"

"I had everything under control!" Batman snapped in annoyance as he blocked several strikes from three different Colony Soldiers before delivering a series of kicks and elbow strikes to their bodies that cracked and damaged their armor and dropped them like bags of lead.

"Told you he'd say it!" Tim chuckled as he used his bo-staff to knock weapons out of Soldiers hands or used it to strike them with.

"Talk about ungrateful" Spoiler said with obvious sarcasm as she drew a pair of bolas and threw them at an advancing Colony Solider.

"Children, focus!" Batwoman said as she jumped up and sent a two pronged kick into a Colony Soldier's chest before she landed on her hands and spring boarded back up to send another palm strike into a soldier that decided to try his luck with her "Team, we're moving to escape, not just to win-"

"Which we totally are!" Peter said before one of his arms was suddenly seized by a grappling like device fried from one of the Colony Soldiers.

Peter made to pull back before another was shot at his other arm and another around his leg. Seeing their lines connect, the soldiers began to pull in attempt to tear Peter off his feet, but he remained standing, with albeit some difficulty.

"Genesis, are these lines mixed with metal?" Peter asked as he began to slowly pull back against the soldiers in a game of tug of war.

Genesis's response to Peter was a negative, causing him to sigh.

"Aww, I wanted you to try and send a static discharge through the lines and shock them... oh well" Peter said the last part with a shrug before he yanked back with a grunt, pulling the soldiers off their feet and dragged across the floor before Peter ripped the lines off "Before this is over I'm gonna do that. Mostly so I can say I did it"

"Spider-man!" Batwoman's voice boomed through Genesis's commlink, causing Peter to wince.

"Uh, yes?" Peter asked while he had the volume turned down a little.

"Help Clayface carve a path to the upper levels so we can link up with Beta team!" the red head ordered.

"Ma-am yes ma'am!" Peter said as he threw Batwoman a quick salute before he gave the area a quick scan to see if he could find Clayface.

Turns out he didn't have to look too hard, the mountain of living clay was just a few meters ahead, his arms formed into pointed ends and slapping Colony Soldiers aside as he made his way towards the first set of stairs that'll lead them all up to the next level. Peter had Genesis create two small thrusters on his shins and used them to blast off through the air before he landed on Calyface's back. The force of the landing caused the team's largest member to stumble before he formed a pair of eyes in the back of his head to see who hit him.

"W-What the hell are you doing?" he asked as he had his arms turn into large mallets.

"Just watching your back and makin sure the guys you knock down stay down" Peyer answered as he formed several spider like limbs, each one fitted with a web shooter and began to cover the downed soldiers in thick coatings of webs "Just keep doing what your doing"

Clayface grunted at this as he proceeded up towards the next level with the team following a few meters back, dealing with any Colony soldiers that the two had missed or were coming up from behind.

"Their gonna cut us off at this rate!" Batman warned as he sent several quick but powerful strikes into several Colony Soldiers, dropping them all within seconds before he drew several batarangs and threw them towards several soldiers that were bringing up their weapons to shoot at him with.

"Well than it's a good thing we brought backup" Peter said as he hopped off Clayface's back and shot several web bullets towards a group of advancing Colony Soldiers and activated Genesis's commlink "Beta Team, if you'd be so kind as to help speed the process along it'd be much appreciated!"

"Way ahead of you handsome!"

Peter didn't need x-ray vision to know that Batman was looking at him with a slightly confused look, or as confused as he could make with that grim expression of his before a loud sonic scream dragged his attention away from the wall crawler.

A squad that was moving to cut the team off was suddenly falling to their knees, clutching their heads in pain as the blonde beauty Black Canary herself stepped out from the shadows with her 'Canary Cry' going on full power. As the martial artist kept the soldiers down, Huntress dropped in beside her and fired off several crossbow bolts that struck the ground around them before exploding into a shower of quick hardening foam that quickly covered them.

"The Birds..." Bruce said in a unreadable tone before he turned to his side just as Batgirl landed without a sound "Why are you three here?"

"You can thank Spidey there" Batgirl nodded towards Peter who simply waved in response when Bruce rounded on him with a less than pleased expression on his face.

"In my defense, Batwoman said it was fine... plus I think she knew it'd piss you off and by this point, that's the only thing that keeps us going anymore" Peter said with a sheepish chuckle "Also I may have told them that you'd be possibly looking to recruit them and that this may be a trial run of sorts-"

"That's not your call to make!" Batman snapped.

"Well Batwoman said it was fine" Peter whined as he pointed towards said red head as she snapped a man's arm before she silenced his pained scream with a painful heel kick to his head.

"I did not!" she yelled.

"In my mind you did" Peter grumbled as he saw that Batman was still glaring at him "Oh wipe that look off your face before I cover it in webs. Sides, it's not like I brought Catwoman along-"

"He almost did" Huntress said as she landed beside the two and shot Peter a scowl of annoyance "The only reason she isn't here is because she was 'busy'"

"Doing what?" Batman demanded.

"Window shopping for a new scratching post only so she can play with the box rather than the post itself like all cats seem to do maybe?" Peter said with a shrug "I ain't her dad... even though she's called me that, or at least a version of it, a few times already-"

"Finish that statement and I'll shoot you in the head" Huntress threatened with a dark glare as she poked Peter in the chest "And it wont be the one on your shoulders bug boy!"

Without another word, Huntress turned and rejoined the fray, shooting Colony soldiers left and right with her crossbow that were to far out of reach for most of the team's combatants. Peter watched her go for a second before he glanced at Bruce and shrugged.

"I'm sure she was kidding. She wouldn't actually mutilate me and you wouldn't let her do that to me... right?" Peter asked the last part with uncertainty.

"Hrr" Batman grunted as he looked up towards the next level and noticed a large amount of Colony Soldiers were gathering at the elevators, the only way up from their current position "The Colony is moving people to cut off our escape route and pin us down. We need to take them out now!"

"Then let's send the muscle" Kate said with a smirk as she drop kicked another Colony soldier.

"Good idea red... so who's that?" Peter asked as he shot blasts of web fluid at a squad of Colony soldiers as they raced by on a nearby catwalk, pinning them in place "Spoiler? Red Robin? Clayface? Huntress? I know for a fact a tongue lashing from her in Italian would demoralize anyone"

Batwoman paused in kicking a Colony soldier's teeth in to glare annoyingly at Peter, one that Huntress herself was sharing in as she reloaded her crossbow and strongly considered shooting Peter for his last comment "Who the hell do you think?"

"I don't know, it's why I'm asking you!" Peter said before he grabbed a knife that was aimed for his throat "Also why is everyone in this universe trying to stab me in the throat? That's like the sixth time this week!"

"Is it wrong to hope that one of these ass clowns actually pulls that off?" Kate said as she spared a glance at Bruce.

The Dark Knight was silent for a moment before he answered.

"...Depends on your definition of wrong"

Above the chaos the Birds of Prey and Batman's team were unleashing upon the Colony, a squad of soldiers were preparing to open fire on the vigilantes when one of the soldiers noticed the elevator had switched back on.

"Sir, the elevator just came back online..." one of the Colony soldier's said towards his squad's leader "Somebody's coming up from the lower levels"

"Stand your ground" the man said as he signaled for the rest to take up flanking positions on the door "They're attempting to escape!"

The squad waited patiently for the elevator cart to reach their level while below, more and more of their men were falling to batman and his allies. They needed to deal with whoever this was quick and rejoin the fight before all was lost. Seconds ticked by as the Colony Soldiers rechecked their weapons and flipped their safeties off as the cart came to a stop and the doors slid open to reveal three figures that their intel identified as Spider-man, Black Canary and Orphan.

One of the soldiers couldn't help but snort as he took in Black Canary's attire, enjoying how nice her legs looked "They sent you three to fight us?"

"Well, who were you expecting, Robin?" Peter cracked his knuckles as he had Genesis scan the various Colony troopers "To those of you who don't know, I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-man, and this here are my lovely assistants, Orphan and the Black Canary. We're here to kick ass and take names, any volunteers?"

"We've got them out numbered" one of the Colony gun men said as he aimed his rifle at the trio before Peter raised his arm, the limb had a large cannon form around it before he blasted a powerful stream of web fluid at the floor before the various Batman inspired soldiers.

The web fluid quickly spread and engulfed many of the Colony Soldiers up to their waists and solidified, trapping them. Several tried to shoot the webbing off but found it was liking shooting snow with paintballs, the material the webbing was made of had absorbed a majority of the kinetic force from the bullets.

Orphan used this opportunity to rush towards their group while Black Canary took a deep breath and unleashed a powerful sonic scream towards the soldiers that weren't caught in Peter's web fluid. The force of the scream sent several men flying backwards and off the platform while others fell to their knees before falling completely when Orphan reached them and delivered powerful strikes to their heads.

"Look ou-" one man shouted before he received a powerful kick to the chest followed by several painful strikes to his sides and chest before he collapsed while Orphan moved on to the next man all in the span of three seconds.

Peter blinked at the speed that Orphan was tearing through the Colony soldiers "Whoa... I think I just found Laura's long lost twin"

"Who?" Dinah asked with a raised brow.

"Oh just this sweet little girl that was genetically grown in a lab to be the ultimate assassin and kicks ass in ways that make me cry myself to sleep in fear at the thought she'll come for me next" Peter said with a mental shiver.

Wolverine could be scary enough on his own, but a female clone slash daughter of Wolverine that wasn't really a clone but kind of was at the same time?

Nightmare fuel.

"What kind of a universe do you come from again?" the blonde said with a raised brow.

"Honestly, not too bad of one when I compare it to others I know about and been to" Peter said with a shrug before another Colony soldier suddenly dropped in front of him and Black Canary.

Though this one, Peter noted, was vastly different in terms of appearance compared to the rest he's been fighting all night. While his armor was largely similar it lacked the small pointed ears that many of the Colony Soldiers sported, instead the helmet was more round with three small glowing lights arranged in a triangular formation while a long red cape hung from his back along with a red loincloth like skirt on his front.

"Guy in charge?" Dinah asked as she slipped into a advance fighting form.

"Nah, more like a second in charge kind of guy from the looks of it" Peter said as he eyed the man up and down "So, what do they call you? Captain Bat? The Cave Solider? Bat Lite?"

The last one caused Dinah to snort in amusement while the unknown Colony Soldier remained standing.

"Yeesh, tough cave" Peter said as he felt his spider-sense begin to tingle while he had Genesis prepare to form a repulser for him to blast this guy with.

Low power, of course... maybe medium given how advance his armor looked.

"You wanna take him or should I?" Dinah asked as she stepped forward and cracked her knuckles.

"I'll take him" Peter said as he placed a hand on Dinah's shoulder "Sides, I don't think Batwoman sent us up here for this guy to get completely torn apart. Least with me he has a chance"

"Well aren't you modest" Dinah said with a snort as she stepped back "Fine, but when he starts kicking your ass, I'm not jumping in to save you"

"That's fine, I prefer you to let him put me out of my misery anyhow" Peter chuckled as he suddenly shot several web bullets towards the unknown Colony Soldier.

The man didn't make a sound as he leaped back and brought up both arms and shot out a barrage of small shuriken that looked similar to Batman's Batarangs, only thinner and with serrated tips on the wings. The sheer speed of the shuriken sliced through Peter's impact webbing and forced the wall crawler to dodge the projectiles while Dinah stepped back and went to join Orphan in dealing with the re-enforcements called in.

"Okay, the scary blonde girl is gone, you can talk to me now" Peter said as he dodged several more of the shuriken shot at him and responded with several more web bullets before he followed those up with a small blast from a repulser "I mean, I can't blame you for being all shy and stuff around her. I mean, what guy wouldn't be? She's hot, can drop kick guys twice her size and knows how to accessorize. And she's a blonde, can't forget that!"

Again the soldier made no response as he expertly dodged all of Peter's shots while slowly closing the distance between the two. This started to set off alarms in Peter's head because no non-enhanced human would willfully charge a guy like him unless he had something up his sleeve to even the playing fields.

"Okay your starting to creep me out with the whole silence thing and the fact your getting closer to me!" Peter said as he jumped back and kept shooting more and more web bullets, lines, nets and even a solid stream of web fluid to try and pin the man down.

Peter finally caught a lucky break when the Colony Soldier landed wrong and Peter immediately hit him with a stream of web fluid, covering his entire body in seconds until only the top of his head remained visible. The wall crawler quirked his head in puzzlement and was just about to turn away from the now cocooned man when he felt his spider-sense go off.

"That can't be good..." Peter whispered to himself as he turned back to see steam rising up from the cocoon before the Colony Soldier's fist punched through and began to tear chunks of the now burning webbing off.

Parts of the man's armor were glowing and giving off high temperature readings and in the other Colony Soldier's hand was some sort of grenade launcher like weapon that he brought up and aimed at Peter with. The Queen's born hero let out a surprised yelp as a molten projectile shout out of the launcher and nearly struck Peter before it flew past him and impacted against the wall, creating a massive explosion of fire and molten metal. Peter blinked at the damage before he turned to see the Colony Soldier ripping the last of the webbing off himself before he aimed at Peter again with his launcher.

"Whelp... I'm in danger" Peter said as Genesis opened a small box with the words 'Don't' let energy projectile hit you' written inside of it.

The Colony Soldier fired off another round and Peter quickly leaped out of the way, shooting two web lines out and used them to yank himself farther away as the energy round impacted against the ground and created another powerful explosion.

"Need some help back there?" Black Canary said over his suit's commlink.

"Nah, I'm good" Peter said as he landed in a roll and sprung back up just in time to dodge another round that would've taken his head clean off had he not bent his neck at a painful angle "Though I wouldn't mind a little help with something else"

"Oh, like what?" Dinah asked with amusement and curiosity.

"How well does your scream work through liquids?" Peter inquired as he landed in a crouch and had four spider like legs form out of his back, each one spotting a small repulser and fired off several blasts towards the Colony Soldier, forcing him to raise the arm not holding his energy launcher and shoot out a grappling hook to pull him out of the line of fire.

"Pretty well, why?" Dinah answered.

"I think this silent but deadly type needs to lighten up a little and what better way than to hear your siren song" Peter teased as he checked to see just how much web fluid he actually had left.

It wasn't nearly as much as he hoped, but more than enough for him to do what he needed to do... hopefully.

"Or you can try sweet talking him" Dinah replied with a chuckle "It's doing wonders for me handsome. You might actually be the first guy that's ever been able to talk me into a bed with him"

"Let's call that plan never gonna happen even if I go through the whole alphabet" Peter snorted before his spider sense went off just as several drone like craft suddenly flew down from a higher level and aimed their weapons at Peter while the unknown Colony solder he's been fighting aimed his energy launcher at him while several squads worth of regular Colony Soldiers appeared behind him "Uh Canary? I may have to call you back... the guy I'm fighting just started cheating"

"What-" Dinah began before her voice was drowned out by the barrage of bullets fired from the drones and Colony Soldiers while their leader refrained from firing.

Due to the sheer amount of bullets flying everywhere, Peter couldn't didge them all and was thus forced to have Genesis absorb the impacts as best she could. Turns out dozens of high powered rounds with small explosive tips on them can strain even a artificial symbiote as durable as Genesis to her breaking point. One of the rounds struck Peter in the side of the head, causing him to stumble before a sudden round from the unknown Colony Soldier's energy launcher struck him clear in the chest. Peter wasn't sure to expect when he and Genesis were hit, pain obviously, and a lot of heat and perhaps shrapnel to some degree. Instead he and odd cool liquid like feeling only a few seconds before a powerful discharge of electrical energy raced through Genesis's systems, electrocuting both her and Peter himself.

"AAAAHHHHH!" Peter shouted in pain as he collapsed to the ground while his body and suit were racked with thousands of bolts of electricity.

If Peter ever wanted to know what it'd be like to be stuck in one of Stark's suits while someone like Electro blasted him, this was it.

"Too reliant on your suit..."

Peter let out a pained cough as he struggled to move before he felt a kick to the chest. Thankfully Genesis took most of the impact but the feeling of heated metal slamming into his now burnt and overly sensitive skin hurt well enough. Thankfully the force of the kick wasn't enough to send Peter flying, just enough to cause him to roll over a little before he felt someone step on his shoulder and pin him down. With some effort Peter forced his head around as far as it could go to see the man standing on him was the unknown Colony Solider, his energy launcher aimed right at Peter's head.

'Well this isn't good' Peter thought as his spider-sense began to go off while the man's finger began to pull back on his launcher's trigger.

Peter wasn't sure what the man was about to shoot him with, but given it was at near point blank range, it wasn't an explosive, at least he hoped it wasn't. Though it wouldn't matter too much as the man's shots will break through the thin layer of armor that Genesis provided around Peter's head soon enough. And with Genesis still mostly offline because of the odd EMP round he was struck with, she won't be able to either re-enforce the area of impact or repair it before the soldier's shots broke through.

'So this is how it ends... killed by a Batman cosplaying lunatic' Peter thought with a sigh before he heard the Colony soldier give out a startled noise before he was blasted back by a ear ringing sonic scream.

"EEEEEEEEIIIIIII!"

Peter watched with surprise as Dinah was suddenly above him, blasting the drones hovering overhead with her sonic screams before she turned her attention to the Colony Soldiers around her. They weren't lucky enough to receive a ear shattering scream from the blonde beauty, instead Dinah unleashed a barrage of bone breaking punches, kicks, jabs, grapples and strikes that left Peter wincing in sympathy for every Colony Solider that fell. Within seconds the only ones left standing were Black Canary and the unknown Colony Soldier that the blonde heroine had blasted with her sonic scream.

"Your good" the man said as he glanced at his down companions.

"Taught by the best. Shame your pals here weren't" Dinah growled as she struggled to maintain her breathing.

Fighting numerous highly trained men and women in armor got tiring pretty quickly compared to facing down dozens of run of the mill thugs you can find all over Gotham.

"So I see..." the man said as he aimed his energy launcher at Dinah "But lets see you best this"

Dinah's body tensed as she prepared to move before a figure dropped behind the man and sent a powerful kick towards the back of his leg. The man fell to his knee and looked back over his shoulder in time to see Orphan send a fist right into his helmet covered face. Dinah quickly sprinted over and sent a kick into the man's chest, causing him to nearly fall backwards before a knee from Orphan sent him back and right into a heeled kick to the chin, courtesy of Black Canary.

"And I though getting shot with a EMP hurt" Peter muttered as he watched Black Canary and Orphan systematically beat the unknown Colony solider to the ground.

The man was able to block a few hits and even get a few of his own in, but when your fighting against two of some of the greatest hand to hand combatants in the world, it didn't amount to much.

"Spider-man!"

Peter turned away from perhaps one of the most brutal beatdowns he's ever seen to see a haphazard bridge made from Clayface appear with Batwoman, Batman, Batgirl, Red Robin, Spoiler, and Huntress on top of it.

"Hey guys, what took you so long?" Peter asked as Red Robin and Batgirl ran over and helped him up.

"What the hell hit you?" Batgirl asked with a frown as she saw most of Peter's armor seemed burnt, warped almost.

"What ever he was shooting me with" Peter nodded towards the Colony Solider just as Dinah sent a jab to his throat that caused him to let out a chocked gasp.

When his arm went up to grab his injured neck in response, Dinah grabbed his arm and with a yell, yanked him up and over her shoulder and slammed the man into the ground. The soldier made an attempt to get back up but Dinah lifted her leg into the air and brought her heel down on his head so hard that the armor cracked under the force of her blow.

"A bit excessive there, don't you think Black Canary?" Huntress said with a frown as she hopped of the clay bridge Clayface made along with Batman, Batwoman and Spoiler.

"Well considering he was about to blow my head clean off, I don't think so" Peter grumbled as both Red Robin and Batgirl struggled to hold him up while Genesis slowly brought more and more systems back online.

"Who is he?" Batwoman nodded towards the downed man.

"No idea" Peter shrugged "He wasn't very chatty"

"Can we trade Spider-man for him?" Huntress asked, causing Peter to gasp before he placed a hand over his heart.

"Straight through the heart..." Peter said with a shake of his head.

"She's called Huntress for a reason" Red Robin joked before his face fell while Peter's spider sense started to go off as the air was suddenly filled with the odd whine of some sort of engines.

"What's that?" Spoiler asked before she looked behind them and paled under her own mask "Oh..."

Batman and the rest turned to see jack along with sixteen Colony Soldiers standing on four hovering platforms with their flood lights centered on them. Next to Jack Peter saw a young man that seemed a few years older than Red Robin with a green army jacket over a black shirt with a yellow and black Batman symbol and equally green army like pants.

"Whose G.I. junior there?" Peter nodded towards the person next to Jack.

"Their tech guy" Tim whispered with a frown "He's... pretty good"

"Is that right?" Peter said as he glanced back at the Colony' tech specialist "Pfft, I bet I can make better stuff than him"

"Shut up" Batman growled as he stared at his uncle with narrowed, enraged eyes "It doesn't have to be this way Jack"

"Unfortunately Batman, it does" Jack said as he looked down at his nephew with cold narrowed eyes before he turned his attention to Batwoman "Kate it shouldn't be like this. You have to listen to me"

"Listen to you?!" Batwoman said with an incredulous expression "You just tried to kill the man we both modeled ourselves after just to make me compliant! You've spent your whole life lying to me!"

"Umm, does anyone get the feeling this should be something these two discuss privately instead of in front of us all?" Batgirl whispered towards Peter and Tim.

"Oh yeah" Peter said with a nod.

"With how this family is, we'd be ever so lucky" Tim said with a shake of his head while Jack continued to speak to them, or more specifically Kate.

"I told you a long time ago I would spend my life making sure what happened to us would never happen again" Jack said before he gestured around them "This is what I built. This is the machine by which that can happen. All I want for you to do is understand"

"I can't and wont be part of this" Kate snapped at her father before she pointed towards Peter "I'd rather sleep with him than join your insane crusade!"

"Well that's... that's pretty mean" Peter said with sagging shoulders "Like really mean"

"Batwoman, stop being mean to my Spider" Black Canary said with a scowl towards the red head.

"Your Spider?" Batgirl said with a snort "When did this happen?"

"When I saved him from having his head splattered across the floor a few minutes ago" Dinah said with a grin.

"And look amazing doing it" Peter said with a nod.

"Can you three shut up and focus on the hovering drones of death in front of us?!" Huntress snapped at the three with a growl.

"I'm getting tired of hearing his voice too" Jack sighed before he turned away from the group if heroes "Subdue them..."

"I don't think so" Tim said with a smirk as he brought up his gantlet and pressed a button on it that brought up a small projection of the typical Colony Soldier with several areas highlighted.

Suddenly the platforms began to spiral out of control as their pilots released the controls and gripped their heads, letting out muffled screams that others were expressing.

"Their helmets are static, volume on high. They're going deaf unless you shut down their weapons systems down now" Tim said as he saw some of the soldiers fall to their knees.

"When'd you do that?" Spoiler said as she glanced at Tim with surprise.

"When I was hacking into their main computer earlier" Tim said with a shrug "Thought it'd come in handy"

"Wouldn't have minded that kind of help a minute ago" Peter said in a dry tone as Batman dropped several smoke bombs and glanced at Clayface and nodded.

"Get us out of here Marko"

Not too far away, unseen by anyone short of Devine, Mephisto watched with a almost bored look on his face as the group of humans that Peter had aligned himself with quickly made their escape out of this 'Colony' facility. Things weren't progressing as far as he had hoped by this point, that insufferable wall crawler had yet to make any real moves against the soul he was owed.

"It's almost like he thinks that by still playing the hero, it'll absolve him of working with me" the lord of lies said with a snort of amusement as he watched Jack and his minion, Ulysses, step off one of the floating platforms after it safely touched down and the smoke from Batman's bombs cleared.

"Colonel, you realize what they'll do?" Ulysses said with a frown towards the man.

Jack sighed as he nodded "Yes, Batman now has the information he needs to shut us down. When the Security council finds out what we've been doing, we'll be dismantled. How long will it take us to recover?"

"The suits?" Ulysses said with a raised brow "A few hours. I need to wipe out the command slate that Red Robin installed. Granted I can have it out in a few minutes but I'm gonna need to make sure he can't get back in anytime soon"

"We don't have a few hours" Jack said with a frustrated sigh "Dammit! All these years and it just falls apart in my hands. batman, Kate, none of them understand what we've been facing. We've been fighting this war longer than any of them has! That self righteous little fu-"

"I can't tell if your insulting my Spider or your idiot of a nephew colonel" Mephisto chuckled as he circled Jack and watched him with narrowed eyes.

He saw potential in the man but he was still a tad bit too... full of hope.

"Ah, we can change that quick enough" Mephsito said with a thoughtful look on his face.

"Sir" Ulysses said as he approached the older man with a tablet in his hands "There's still a way to achieve the objective"

"What do you mean?" Jack said with a frown as he turned towards the teen.

A dark unsettling grin grew on the teen's face that immediately gained Mephisto's interest while it seemed to unnerve the Colonel. The demon lord quickly appeared beside the teen and and pressed a single finger towards the side of the teen's head and peered into his mind.

"Ooh, what do we have here?" he whispered with a growing grin as he 'saw' this hidden enemy that the colony had been facing... and what they were willing to do to stop them.

"Sir, I know when I presented the upgrades to my 'Bat-eyes' you rejected them on sight..." Ulysses said as he typed in a few commands on his tablet.

"I did" Jack said with a frown on his face before it turned into anger "You didn't!"

"I may have went ahead in built them anyway" Ulysses said with a sheepish grin that was anything but innocent as dozens of drones began to emerge and hover over the two men and the unseen demon.

Mephisto glanced up at the drones while Jack spoke, more to himself than anyone else present.

"We weren't able to narrow down the target list" Jack muttered as he stared up at the drones with growing dread.

"I believe the term is acceptable losses" Ulysses said with a smirk.

"Ooh I'm starting to like you Ulysses" Mephisto grinned at the teen before he turned his attention back towards Jack and sensed the man's spirit was beginning to tip into a much more... persuadable nature.

"Sire we're talking about a few hundred suspected terrorists against hundreds of thousands of lives" Ulysses said as he stared at the Colonel, his finger over the button that will enact their programming "Millions even. We can end the war tonight"

Jack said nothing as he continued to stare up at the hovering drones, his hands slowly tightening into fists.

"Do it..." Mephisto whispered into Jack's ear "Do it... save them... do it... save them all..."

Several moments of tense silence passed before Jack nodded and glanced at Ulysses "Do it"

"There we go!" Mephisto said with a clap of his hands while Ulysses issued the drones their orders.

Mephisto watched as Jack turned to leave before he stopped and stared at the unconscious form of the man that fought Peter before he was taken down by Black Canary and Orphan. Jack wandered over and kneeled down to examine him with a frown on his face.

"You shouldn't have taken on that Spider-man head on like that" Jack said with a shake of his head before he noticed something on the ground not too far from where said hero was lying earlier.

It was a piece of his armor no bigger than the side of a quarter... and it was still twitching.

Jack slowly stood up and approached the twitching piece of armor and stared down at it with a thoughtful look on his face while Ulysses quickly ran over and crouched down to examine it with his tablet still in his hands. Ulysses held the tablet over the piece of armor and ran a scanning program and waited for the results to appear.

What he saw didn't disappoint.

"Whoa..." the teen said with a whistle as he stared at the readings the armor piece was giving off, they were unlike anything the Colony was working with or even Batman and his people.

"What is it?" Jack asked and watched as Ulysses turned towards him with a wide grin.

"...A real game changer sir!"
