Chapter two

[Still Fakir, Ahiru]

Chapter Two, for those 2 or maybe 3 if I was lucky people who wanted it. :3

Disclaimer: No matter how much I wish these beautiful characters were mine, they are not. Neither is the story line. much to my disappointment. XC

The knight stood over the dying form of his best friend, a small little duckling. Tears streaming down his face. He had promised to keep her safe, protect her, and stay by her side, but in the end... she was the one to protect him.

Things shouldn't end like this. Things couldn't end like this. But how could he change it?

Suddenly a voice called out to him. The knight turned around to be confronted by a faerie-

Fakir scribbled out the last few words. Faerie? Oh for Pete's sake, a faerie was going to help Ahiru? God, could anything less likely happen? No. No, no this wouldn't do. But what could?

Fakir's hand shot off on its own, as if controlled by someone else. Scribbling down words almost too fast for a human eye to follow. Faki was just a passenger for this story.

Things shouldn't end like this. Things couldn't end like this. But how could he change it?

A weird music started to play, causing the knight to turn around. Gems for sale," A monotone, female voice called out. " You sir. Would you like to buy a gem?"

"Leave me be," the knight growled, " I would rather be alone."

The head that the voice belonged to tilted slightly in disbelief. "Is that really what you desire? From the look of things, you look like you want anything but to be alone."

"I would be perfectly fine all alone," the knight declared,"If my bestfriend got to live." He gestured to the small duck beside him to indicate who he meant.

"You care for that little duckling that much? Why?"

"I promised to stay by her side. I want to make good on that promise," the knight said firmly.

"Is that the only reason for you staying by her side? To protect? It looks to me like you want more than that."

"That may be what it looks like, but I am only her friend. But I will stay by her side by her side no matter what. Through thick and thin, and though the highs and lows," the knight declared.

The voice was right thought. There was another reason for him wanting her to stay alive. The knight care very deeply for the little duck. That was one of the reasons for making the promise in the first place.

The voice seemed to smile,"I see. Well in that case, will you stay with her if I grant her most desired wish?"

"Of course," the knight answered immediately.

"That could be anything,' The voice warned, "if her most desired wish is to be far away from you, that is what will happen."

The knight held up his chin bravely,"I understand."

Fakir put down his quill and held his hand. He had written so much, so fast, that his hand ached badly.

He looked at what he had written. That would be the ending, Fakir decided. Since the choice was up to the little duckling. Fakir couldn't write that.

He just stood up and hoped for the best. oh, he hoped, hoped, hoped, and hoped some more that Ahiru wish was to become human again. That was the only thing that could save her life.

He crossed his fingers that her most desired wish wasn't to eat a sandwich. Knowing her it might be.

Sorry, that was shorter than the first chapter. I hope it was enjoyed any way. I will try to post the next chapter faster as compensation. Seeing as much wasn't revealed in this chapter. XD.
