Disclaimer: Naruto don't belong to me
A/N: Sorry for the wait, I've been busy, and I wasn't sure how to write this without making it longer. Enjoy!
Sakura never found it hard sitting in a classroom filled with her best friends and classmates that she practically grew up with. Until now, English was a favorite, she still liked it, and she did look forward to it more than ever, but it was hard. Given that she was dating her teacher. They would exchange looks, he'd pass by and purposely brush her shoulder, she'd call on him and he'd lean in close to her. They were very careful though, sneaking around was both scary and thrilling.
Him sneaking notes for her in her book, her leaving some in his flies, she loved the little smile that came to face when she text him during class. It was a bit annoying when she embarrassed herself in front of him during classes but she lived until they were alone in his apartment and he'd tease her. They spent a lot of time in his apartment, while her parents were away or she'd lie and say she would be at her friends.
She couldn't be happier about their relationship, well except that it was a secret and she had to watch other girls throw themselves at him. Like their stupid school nurse, Karin, the redhead never misses a chance to flirt, even when he shot her down.
My Secret: You look cute today, I wish I got a morning kiss before we left this morning.
Sakura looked up from her phone at Sasuke sitting there going over papers as they took notes he just gave. She caught his eyes briefly but didn't miss the small smile he gave, biting her lips she glanced around before texting him back.
Cherry: Oh and you look cute yourself, my fault I ran late, then again you kept me up last night. So it's your fault.
He wasn't looking at her but typing a reply when she looked up. Since her parents left before her every morning she would run across the hall to his for a kiss before running away to meet with Naruto. Sometimes she'd leave right after her parents did just so she could spend a little more time with him. On evenings she would go straight to his, Ino always covered for her, or one of her other friends. Things were going smoother than she thought.
My Secret: Focus Miss Sakura, you didn't want to hang up either.
Sakura bit her lip to keep her from smiling before she could text him back the bell went off. She was the only one who wasn't finished, cursing under her breath she hurried up. Sasuke was about to go to her but he saw her friends lingering so he stayed put in his seat. "Hurry on to your next class girls." He said just so he can look at her.
"In a bit Mr. Uchiha." Ino giggles in a flirtatious way making Sakura roll her eyes at her friend, she finished and packed her stuff. Giving Sasuke one last look before they left.
"Tell me right now!" Ino jabbed a finger at her shoulder when they got to their next class. Kakashi was late as always so they had some time to talk. "Tell you what exactly?" Sakura asked nervously, she kind of knew what was coming, this was her best friend after all.
"Don't try that shit Kura." Tenten who sat in front of her turned around with a raised eyebrow.
"We all know something is up!" Ino poked Hinata making her turn to them shyly nodding. "You've been sending us 'cover for me' messages a lot lately, who is the man!?" Ino frown at when she was about to spill some bullshit, daring her to lie to them.
Defeated Sakura opened a little to them. "I have been talking to a guy." Before she could finish her three friends piped up.
"Guy, how long?"
"I knew it OMG who!"
"Bitch get that dick!" They looked at Ino making her laugh. "What, I am mad though, you've been keeping secrets."
"It only happened recently, you don't know him, he's an older college guy." She felt bad about lying to them, but she had to.
"Oh mymymy an older man huh."
"Please be careful with collage guys Sakura."
"Did you fuck yet?" They looked at Ino again, this time she just shrugged and wiggled her eyebrows.
"No Ino, not yet, I am being careful Hina." She smiled at the girl, Kakashi chooses that moment to walk in and greet them.
….
Sakura grew worried as her friends kept asking questions about her mystery man. Feeling stressed out she went straight to Sasuke's after school, he wasn't there as she turned around she saw him coming up with her dad. "Sakura what are you doing here?" Her father eyed her near Sasuke's apartment. "I was going to ask S… for my paperback, I wanted to make some changes, I asked but he forgot." She kept a straight face even though she was crumbling to pieces on the inside.
"Ah, right I'm sorry." Sasuke pulled his shoulder bag to the front looking through his flies.
"Sakura don't bother Sasuke like that." Her father shook his head at her.
"No problem. Here Sakura, return it tomorrow." Sasuke handed her a random paper, she took it quickly with a 'thanks' and ran off to her room.
That was a close one, today wasn't their day.
My Secret: close call, let's be careful next time Sakura, I miss you though
Cherry: Sorry, I will be next time, heads up my friends think I'm dating an older college guy now. What a day.
….
Sakura felt her heart leave her when Ino came over at hers unexpectedly, she didn't want the girls knowing Sasuke lived next door to her. Naruto hadn't said anything surprisingly, so she dragged Ino inside as soon as she saw the girl, her parents weren't home yet, she was going to go over to Sasuke's. "Why are you here pig."
"Wow, you bitch, I came to hang out, we hadn't done that since school opened, I want to talk about Sai and some gossip." Ino threw herself on Sakura's bed hugging her red pillow. "Anyway, I want to know more about the mystery guy." Ino turned on her side to face Sakura who sat at the foot of the bed.
"There's not much to tell." Sakura got up walking to the bathroom. "I need to pee." Closing the door behind her she washed her face and took a breath, she began conjuring a story in her head that will sound believable. Building confidence she looked at her reflection, she slapped her face softly getting ready to go outback. Then she heard her phone ring, realization hit her when she heard Ino asking if she should answer it.
"Ino! No!" She raced out the bathroom and jumped on her bed grabbing the phone but she knew it was too late by Ino's wide eyes. "I'll call you back." She heard the panic in Sasuke's voice when she hangs up and stared at her best friend.
"YOU! MR. UCHIHA OMG SAKURA!" Ino stood as well pointing at her.
"I know I know, you can't tell a soul. It just happened before we knew and things escalated and we couldn't stop and omg Ino please." Hearing a knock on her door she swore, getting up she shoved Ino down and ran to the door.
"Sasuke please go!" She shoved him but Ino stood behind her in even more shock. "Fuck fuck fuck," Sakura swore as Ino pointed at him, she saw Sasuke face go pale.
….
Sakura sat with Ino on her bed now, she promised Sasuke to fix things and she did, Ino would never do anything to hurt her. So after a shit load of explaining she got the girl to understand and keep quiet. "Damn Sakura, this is some deep shit you know."
"I know."
"If a word gets out Kay can get in trouble, like real legal trouble."
"We know that's why you cannot say anything, wait Kay?" Sakura looked at the blonde girl with a raised brow.
"Code name Kura duh, anyway, I wouldn't just promise me you'll be careful."
"I will."
Ino left her alone to talk to Sasuke over the phone who was still panicked. "We can't do this, it was Ino today, who tomorrow? You're parents, the principal? I don't know why I let this happen." Sakura bit back a cry as tears ran down her face. "I fucking know, we discussed this already, Ino wouldn't say anything, I am sorry I was a bit careless. It wouldn't happen again."
"You said nothing will happen in the first place Sakura." She heard the frustration in his voice, but she was just as frustrated. "I don't think we should continue this."
"You know what, if you're going to keep acting this way I don't think so either, I thought we were worth fighting for. But I was clearly wrong." With that she hung up, throwing her phone across the room she buried her head in her arms and cried.
…..
Sakura stayed at Ino's that weekend crying, he hadn't called her or text her since their phone call. When she came home on Sunday she heard from her mother that he moved out. Monday she came to see another teacher in English class, Jugo was their permanent teacher. Just like that as the weeks dragged on Sasuke had disappeared without a trace. With Ino being the only one knowing she never left her side, sleepovers, and all Ino stuck to her side.
My Secret: Can we meet at the café outside of town?
Sakura blinked twice at her phone not believing what she was seeing, glancing at Ino who was brushing her hair getting ready for bed.
Cheery: no, fuck off
My Secret: please Sakura we need to talk
Cheery: No we don't
My Secret: I'll wait in case you change your mind
As Ino slipped her eye mask on Sakura waited a bit before sneaking out, calling Naruto she convinced him to give her a ride. "I'll wait for you." Naruto parked the car, she was grateful for that, nodding she slipped out into the cold night going straight for the café he mentioned. They had come on dates here many times since no one that knew them came there much.
Spotting him she moved forward, all the courage she built to face him disappeared when she saw his face.
"You came." Sasuke stood as she slipped into her seat, sitting back down he smiled at her. "I'm happy to see you. You look beautiful."
"What do you want Sasuke?" She ignored his compliment and bit her lip to avoid crying.
"How have you been?" He asked her reaching for her hand but she pulled away. He sighed at this and leaned back into his seat.
"How the fuck do you think. Hm. You just left you didn't even bother with texting me or calling me you just left like that. What do you take me for." She lowered her voice not wanting to get attention but the anger and hurt were clear. Sasuke grabbed her hands in his tightly not allowing her to pull away this time.
"I am sorry, I thought what I was doing was best for us but I was wrong." He watched her carefully before continuing. "Please forgive me, I want to make it work this time. No more secrets, I'm getting another job soon, I live close by and we can gradually reveal our relationship. Graduation is close too."
"I don't know I can't let you hurt me again." Sakura bit her lip harder as a tear slipped down her cheek, Sasuke caught it and kissed her hands. "I wouldn't ever again. I am sorry." He leaned over the table to kiss her, when she kissed him back he felt relief. "Promise?"
"Promise." He sat back down rubbing her hand soothingly, she smiled at him and gingerly went to sit next to him so she could hug him.
Texting Naruto it was ok to go home, he left after she convinced him she was fine. They knew it'll still be a tough ride, but it was worth it, they were both willing to fight for what they had. "Shit." Sakura cursed after looking at her phone, lying in Sasuke's arms in his new apartment she sat up.
"What is it?" Sasuke groggily asked pulling her back in his arms. "Ino is going to kill me." She was about to sit up again but Sasuke pulled her back in kissing her. "Five more minutes."
