During this scene in the third movie I was like "What are you doing, Po? You could Skadoosh her by accident!" And so this little one shot was born xD

xxxx

"This isn't going to work!"

Po just didn't understand. What he was doing now...it just wasn't going to work against the infamous Master of Pain—Kai. He hadn't seen what she had. He didn't know the kind of horrors that the powerful yak could thrust upon the vulnerable panda village.

"It has to," Po countered.

Tigress just didn't understand. It had to work, or else the entire panda village was going to pay for his mistakes. He'd trusted his father—his panda father—to teach him how to do Chi, and now he'd discovered that Li had been lying to him the entire time. Rediscovering how to be a panda—rolling down hills, sleeping in late, eating to his fullest potential—it had all been a distraction. A distraction from the truth that his father had no idea how to do Chi in the first place, instead wanting to try and stop him from doing his job—to stop him from facing a blade-swinging maniac.

He was the Dragon Warrior. Facing maniacs was his job, and he was determined to take Kai down!

"You're not thinking straight," Tigress pushed.

He never thought straight during times like these, especially when he'd just found out that his father hadn't been telling the truth. She could see in his expression that he was more focused on the fact that Li had been lying, not even trying to come up with a reasonable plan against a nearly unstoppable enemy that was on his way. Po would always jump straight into action, never really thinking about the consequences of his actions.

"I am!" the panda continued, taking a step forward.

"You're not," Tigress shot back, sending a kick to his leg.

"I am," Po responded more firmly.

"No," Tigress repeated with just as much force.

"Yes I am!"

"No. I've seen Kai—I've seen what he can do," Tigress explained. Po hadn't seen how the Beast of Vengeance had taken Mantis and Crane's Chi, turning them into fearful and hideous 'Jombies' as he and Monkey had named the horrid jade warriors. He hadn't seen how Kai had taken everyone's Chi—Shifu's Chi, how she had to pitifully hide behind a rock and watch it all happen. She had been utterly helpless.

"But he hasn't seen what I can do," Po stated with determination.

And with that, the Dragon Warrior spun her around and extended a finger outwards to show her that yes, he was thinking clearly and that yes, he had a plan that would work and send Kai back to the Spirit Realm.

The Wuxi Finger Hold was his best move, after all.

In a blink, there was a bright and golden flash as he pressed his finger down onto her paw without really meaning to. He just wanted to demonstrate his plan and prove to her that no matter what, it was going to work.

Po stared in shock and confusion at the empty space before him.

"Tigress?"
