One of Hermione's favourite things to do after the floors were mopped and dry, was to put on socks and slide around. She thought that it was the best part of having hardwood floors.

She had just mopped the floors of her and Viktor's new home. They had just moved in after getting married and she wanted to do something nice. The fact that she could slide around in her socks was just a bonus.

She pulled on her socks, the fuzzy kind that were especially slippery, grinning like mad. She hadn't slid across a floor in far too long. Her last apartment had been carpeted which didn't leave much space for sliding.

She took a running start, and slid from one end of the hall to the other. She turned around the living room and collided with Viktor as he came in.

"Vhat are you doing loff?" he asked her.

"Sorry Viktor," she said. She was having trouble keeping herself from giggling like a school girl. She had been having so much fun, and it was strange that he didn't understand. "It's something that I used to do as a girl. I'd slide around clean floors in my socks. It's actually fun."

Viktor pulled his shoes off.

"What are you doing?"

"You said it vas fun. I should like to try." He pushed off the wall, and slid a few feet before stumbling and nearly falling over. "I thought you said this vas fun."

She laughed. "It is. It might take you a bit to get used to it, though," she said between giggles. She slid around him. "But I think this is more fun."

Viktor grabbed his new wife. He pulled her in and kissed her thoroughly. "Vhat vere you saying?"

She pulled away, a sly smile on her face. "I'll race you around the house. Winner gets to pick what we have for dinner."

They both took off, sliding as fast as they could. Viktor was taller which gave him an edge. But Hermione had the better socks, and the experience. She won.

Viktor pulled her in for another kiss. "Vell loff, looks like you get to choose dinner. But I think I get desert."
