Sonic walked down the bare halls of the college, only a few were still in the school and wandering about. Summer break was beginning after all. Walking past the medal hall he merely glanced at the always polished trophies and medals. Reflection only a sliver before he faced back to his destination. His room. Of course he knew most of his students were already gone for the summer.

Although there was one student he knew for sure was still sitting in his classroom, drawing or maybe even sleeping. Of course he was right because upon entrance he saw Shadow. Not a class pet or anything, only a sort of close friend.

Sonic gently closed the door behind him as not to wake Shadow. He would have asked him what he was still doing at school when summer had already started but he knew exactly why. Shadow lived with him after all. He was practically an orphan. Although he was fifteen when his family died from a traumatic event that was probably slapped into the history books. Sonic had been close friends with Shadow's father, a nice man. Honest and a bit weird, but a good person nonetheless. The same went for Shadow's mother... and his sister. The professor knew Shadow blamed himself.

And as depressing as all that is, Sonic still managed to feel something much more than empathy for the other. The age difference was about nine years, but hell Shadow was in fact of age, well above actually. Sonic was allowed to be happy with whomever he pleased. That is if Shadow felt the same. He looked down at Shadow, running his fingers through his frizzy red streaked hair. It looked like he was still in his edgy phase, but Sonic had no right to judge seeing as his hair was dyed in a prime sharp blue.

He looked down at Shadow a minute, blushing because he thought about how peaceful he looked.

"You have no idea what you've done to me." He sighed before leaning down, tempted to kiss his slightly open mouth then quickly rejecting the idea in favour of his end of year desk work.

Little did he know, Shadow had been awake the whole time and was now blushing like mad.
