answers to reviewers questions or statements:

Jason Chandler: No, but it can be if you want.

Starlord Master: Because that's his name?

Harbinger of Kaos: No, but we'll see why Carol's codename is Warbird soon enough.

Unknownguy78: Well I can safely say that when Peter collects all the stones, he's not going to use them for something so selfless as 'ridding the universes of evil' or making a 'paradise' for those that live in it. Hell, he's not even collecting them now because he thinks they can change things, his scientific curiosity has been piqued and he's determined to understand these stones. But in regards to the JL trying to stop him, yes, and quite a few others too.

lilblazemoi0127: Well with everything closed down, I ain't got much else to do for the time being. Appreciate the concern though.

Mashot Tito: There have been Parademons that've stood out from the rest in being smarter than their fellow foot soldiers and there are strains that Darkseid has had Desaad create in attempt to make more powerful variants over the years if that's what you mean. But to answer your question of their being more advance versions in this story, than yes, there will be.

Djberneman: Peter's unaware that there's even a stone inside it. At the moment, he thinks the cube is just some sort of teleportation device.

CRUDEN: Could be seen that way.

GhostNova1: No.

christian a lebron: In a way I suppose he is.

Thanos69: Not sure why he, a God like being from another world with no sense of morality at all would care but okay.

Hivedragon: It's a mixture of the two. En Sabah Nur already has his Four Horsemen created.

ZaydenStormVoid: Gamora is still imprisoned on Apokolips so she won't be taking any of the stones anytime soon and she's not a herald to Galactus either. If she was, her fight back on the Agooma would've gone much differently.

DeimosVulcan12: Dina would prefer Peter sleep with one of his own Furies than her at the moment but like Peter said, he's loyal and he's not going to risk jeopardizing his marriage by sleeping around. Darkseid made it very clear what'll happen if Peter screws this up. The Stones will play a part in Peter becoming a 'True Son of Darkseid'. We technically already have the heroine and villainesses in the forms of Psylocke, Warbird, Faora and Diana, but if you mean will there be more additions, than yes. We'll see what Carol is wearing next chapter. Metron will appear again but he wont be meeting with Peter anymore, their last interaction was that, there last.

Guest: He's slowly gaining the powers of the Infinity Stones, I think that'll be more than enough at the moment.

Disclaimer: I don't own any Marvel or DC characters seen, mentioned or used.

Peter never really understood what the big deal was about the 'Old Gods' as the beings that came before the 'New Gods'.

Sure a lot of them were more powerful than most New Gods, at least the ones from New Genesis barring a select few, and were actively worshiped and arguably more numerous, but Peter personally thought they were nothing more than a bunch of fossils that hadn't realized that their primitive and barbaric era was over. Case and point, this Old God, Mictlāntēuctli, seemed to be under the illusion that his chance to return to his former glory was on the horizon and was using the near Mind Stone like gem that Peter came here to do it.

'And I'm sure his chance to do so will happen... just, he's going to need something else to do it with' Peter thought as he ducked under a claw like swipe from Mictlāntēuctli, his fingers leaving deep cuts in the wall behind Peter as he sent a Venom blast surging fist right into the mummy like God's core, causing a small shockwave to erupt and shake the room while the Old God stumbled back with a pained hiss.

Blood began to drop from Mictlāntēuctli's mouth as he snarled at Peter before he rushed towards the New God with a roar, his eyes glowing with rage. Peter quickly backed away as he fired off several concentrated Venom blasts at the Old God's face, briefly blinding it before he leaped over it's head and watched it sail underneath him. Peter landed in a crouch while Mictlāntēuctli slid to a stop before turning back towards Peter and staring at him with blood filled eyes.

"I shall enjoy ripping your flesh from your bones and feasting upon them!" he hissed darkly as he summoned flames to his hands.

"Ooooh sounds like a vacation to Granny Goodness's orphanage" Peter remarked with a scoff as he raised an arm and fired off several more Venom blasts "Don't threaten me with a good time or I just might blush"

"BURN!" Mictlāntēuctli roared at Peter as he unleashed a wave of fire towards the New God.

"I think I'll evade" Peter said as he leaped out of the way of the fire and shot a web line out and used it to swing around the torrent of flames and slam his feet into Mictlāntēuctli, sending the Old God flying across the room before slamming into the wall with enough force to crack the surface.

Mictlāntēuctli let out a pained groan as he slid to the floor before Peter suddenly slammed into him, sending him deeper into the crater his body made. Peter stared down at the Old God with narrowed lenses as he seized the entity by the throat with one hand and proceeded to use his other, crackling with his Venom Blasts, and began to send it right into the Old God's face, repeatedly.

"You know..." Peter said in between his fist slamming into Mictlāntēuctli's face, sending ripples through the air along with blood and bits of the God's skin flying, some of which hit Peter's mask "All I wanted- KOOOM!- Was the stone- KOOOM!- Could've just handed it over- KOOOM!- But than you had to be stubborn!"

Mictlāntēuctli made some sort of sound in protest before Peter's next punch nearly severed his jaw from his head and causing the elaborate headgear he had on to fall off, exposing a balding, rotted head. Peter made a sound of disgust as he pulled his fist back to deliver the final blow before Mictlāntēuctli's hand suddenly shot up and grabbed the approaching fist, stopping it cold.

"Yessss" Mictlāntēuctli hissed with a dark laugh as he gazed into Peter's eyes with glowing eyes of rage "Prove to me why you'll be worthy to consume!"

With a roar, Mictlāntēuctli pushed Peter's fist back before he suddenly shot forward and slammed into the New God, causing them to roll across the floor until the ancient God was back on his feet and was holding Peter by the throat, his feet dangling just a few inches off the ground. Mictlāntēuctli hissed at Peter before he lifted him into the air and slammed him into the ground, creating a series of cracks and small fissures in the floor before he was brought back up to Mictlāntēuctli's grinning face.

"UGH, you smell worse than Filiden after dinner" Peter gagged at the stench of Mictlāntēuctli made before he lifted an arm and poked the space on Mictlāntēuctli's face where a nose should be "Also, I already have a god like being that wants to eat me so you'll have to get in line"

Mictlāntēuctli growled at this before he pulled a fist back and sent it right into Peter's face, nearly shattering the New God's jaw and sending him flying clear across the chamber until he came to a painful stop against the far wall. The force of the impact seemed to shake the whole temple and caused a few stones from the ceiling to dislodge and fall down to the floor before shattering. Peter rubbed his jaw with a grunt, the punches he was getting from Mictlāntēuctli weren't the worse he's ever gotten, his wife hits him harder than that, but they had more force than a God of Mictlāntēuctli's current state should have.

True he doesn't know just how powerful this decrypt Deity was at his peek, but it couldn't have been that much more than what he is currently.

'And even if he was, I refuse to lose to some half forgotten God on some backwater planet in some back end Galaxy that's weeks away from being slowly devoured!' Peter thought venomously as he pushed himself back up and glared at Mictlāntēuctli's approaching form.

"You have been most amusing little God" Mictlāntēuctli hissed as he came to a stop over Peter and glared down at the New God with hunger, fire, drool and blood dripping from his mouth "But I will not be denied what is mine!"

Peter hummed at this before he started to snicker, causing the Old God before him to frown in confusion.

"What do you find amusing?" he asked with narrowed eyes.

"Oh nothing" Peter said as he struggled to hold back his laughter "Just that you've been so focused on me, you didn't see that I had one of my servants take your stone"

Mictlāntēuctli blinked at this before he turned back to his alter only to see his stone was still there, resting. Mictlāntēuctli growled in annoyance as he turned back towards Peter only to gape when he saw the New God was gone!

"W-What?" Mictlāntēuctli sounded in confusion as he searched the chamber for signs of the New God "Where are you?!"

"Wow, I can't believe you actually fell for that" Peter's voice echoed around him "I wasn't even trying!"

"YOU DARE MOCK ME?!" Mictlāntēuctli roared as fire began to build in his hands and his eyes darted from one shadowed corner of the room to the other "FACE ME YOU COWARD!"

"Oh I'm the coward am I?" Peter said with obvious amusement "This coming from some decrypted old God hiding in some backend temple in the middle of nowhere, scavenging off long dead souls just to stay alive... like a parasite?"

"I will rend your flesh from your body!" Mictlāntēuctli growled as he sent several fireballs towards several shadowed areas of the chamber while he slowly retreated back towards his alter.

As Mictlāntēuctli continued to rant and rave about what he was going to do when he got his hands on Peter, said New God was silently watching from beside the alter that housed the stone he came here for in the first place. At this range, the sensors in Peter's armor detected something odd about the stone, it wasn't giving off psionic energy like the mind stone did, and yet the energy signature was roughly the same. It was like comparing the sky and the ocean, yes both were blue, depending on the planet of course, but had vastly different qualities to them to make them separate.

'I cannot wait to pick you apart' Peter thought with glee before he felt his sixth sense flare and turned to see Mictlāntēuctli stare right at him and growl.

"There you are!" he yelled as he took a deep inhale before exhaling a torrent of fire towards the New God.

Peter quickly shot a web line towards the ceiling and used it to pull himself over the roaring flames before shooting another line and used it to swing around Mictlāntēuctli. The Old God tried to follow but Peter shot a Venom Blast at his eyes, causing him to raise an arm to block the attack. Seeing the Old God Distracted, Peter shot another web line, this one aimed at Mictlāntēuctli's raised arm and used it to pull himself towards the old God. Mictlāntēuctli let out a growl as he was pulled forward a few feet before Peter's feet slammed into his head, snapping his head to the side with a loud 'crack' before Peter grabbed him by the head and continued to punch him square in the face.

Flesh and bone quickly gave under Peter's strikes and Mictlāntēuctli's face slowly began to break and split, drenching Peter's fists in blood as the Old God tried to reach up and grab Peter. Seeing this, Peter had his suit's waldoes emerge and stabbed two of them into Mictlāntēuctli's wrists, causing the Old God to howl in both pain and anger while the remaining two spider like limbs stabbed at Mictlāntēuctli's knees. The roar Mictlāntēuctli made, even with his shattered jaw and half crushed face was almost enough to make Peter let go as they fell towards the ground.

"Would you just shut the hell up already!?" Peter yelled as he slammed his fist into Mictlāntēuctli's bloodied face again "Honestly, you sound like a Parademon being humped by a Buuden after it's been drugged with hormone enhancers!"

Whatever response Mictlāntēuctli had was cut off as Peter raised both his hands, glowing with crimson lightning, before slamming them down on to Mictlāntēuctli's head, creating a small shower of blood and bone as the Old God's face was more or less shattered, barely kept together by the ragged, half rotten skin clinging to his face. Seeing the Old God as it was now, Peter couldn't help but pity the poor thing, a once powerful god, maybe, reduced to a literal pile of rotten flesh and broken bones. Seeing that Mictlāntēuctli wasn't going to be getting up any time soon, if ever, Peter slowly retracted his waldoes back into his suit and stood up, brushing some of the Old God's blood off.

"Well Mictlāntēuctli, much as I'd love to continue our little dramatic battle, I've got things to do, people's deaths to plan, a wife to keep happy, you know, the usual stuff" Peter said as he turned towards the stone on the alter and slowly approached it.

He kept his eyes out for any more possible bobby traps before he reasoned that Mictlāntēuctli likely never planned to be beaten and thus never bothered to create some sort of last line of defense to protect his precocious life line. Peter wasn't sure if that was arrogance on Mictlāntēuctli's part or simply the Old God being incapable of considering such a thing with his old addled mind.

'It's probably both' Peter thought as he had his suit scan the stone one last time to make sure there was no more surprises before nodding in approval and reached for the glowing gem "Now let's get you out of h-"

Peter's hand stopped inches away from the stone as he felt his sixth sense flare, causing him to frown as he turned back towards Mictlāntēuctli only to see the Old God was still where he left him "If your not setting it off, than wh-"

Suddenly a golden colored circle appeared around Peter, causing his eyes to widen as he made to grab his cube and use it to teleport himself out of the trap before his entire body was engulfed in a burning light of energy. It wasn't the most agonizing thing he's ever experienced, being tossed into a Fire Pit when he was only ten was still ranked as number one, but being burned by this unknown energy was definitely in his top ten as of now. through his blurred vison he could see that his suit was struggling to block and analyze the energy but Peter knew what it was the moment his body was hit by it.

Magic.

'I fucking hate magic' Peter thought as the light finally died down and he collapsed to his knees with a pained groan. His body was shaking and his armor made it feel like he was trapped in an oven.

Peter had just about regained his bearings and was starting to stand up when he suddenly could hear someone approaching, humming some sort of tune. Peter turned towards the entrance he came in through earlier and saw a man appear, blonde hair and dressed in some kind of white shirt, black pants and shoes with a brown coat covering most of his body.

"Who the hell are you?" Peter demanded as the man stopped briefly at Mictlāntēuctli's body and clicked his tongue.

"Well shit, there goes that idea..." he muttered with a sigh before he turned towards Peter and narrowed his eyes at him "Hmm... you might work"

"I asked you a questioned human!" Peter snapped as he finally made his way back to his feet and took a step towards the unknown man before white hot pain raced through his body and dropped him to his knees "GAH! Son of a bitch!"

"Yeah, you won't be moving anytime soon so long as you mean to deal me harm in some way" the man said with a smirk as he stepped away from Mictlāntēuctli and approached Peter "Sorry mate, but after seeing you rip old Mictlāntēuctli there a new one, I couldn't take the risk of you turning to me next. I'm in a bit of a pickle and Mictlāntēuctli was supposed to help out with that, but... well I don't think he'll be helping even himself any time soon"

"He go in my way" Peter hissed as he glared up at the man with narrowed lenses "And if you don't drop whatever spell you placed on me now, you'll find out just how creative I can get when I get my hands on you!"

The man quirked his head to the side in amusement as he scanned Peter's form, his eyes resting on the Omega symbol on his chest the longest, before he chuckled "I have an doubt about that if that little chest piece of yours is anything to go by. How is the old rock face?"

Peter made to lunge at the man before his body seemed to suddenly give out and he found himself lying face first on the ground, his body felt like Kalibak was using it as a doormat almost.

"A simple fine would've sufficed" the man said as he stepped over Peter and approached the alter, stopping for a second to study the stone with a thoughtful look on his face "So these things really are real... even for a guy like me this seems unreal"

"I-I-It's... m-mine" Peter hissed as he turned his head best he could and glared up at the human, his body shaking in both rage and pain, though mostly the former.

"And the fact you or your daddy want it terrifies the hell out of me. And I've met the likes of Lucifer" the man said with a shake of his head as he reached out to grab the stone before it suddenly rose from the alter and floated towards the man's outstretched palm before coming to a stop a few inches over his palm.

Peter tried to move but whatever sort of curse the human put on him was pinning him to the floor with sheer unimaginable pain. He tried to power through it, to use it to fuel his anger and push himself into grabbing the man and ripping him apart but all he managed to do was move an inch before the man turned towards him an smirked.

"I'll be in Los Angeles when your ready to talk mate" the man said with a smirk as he flipped the stone over his hands as if it were a quarter before it vanished in a small white light "See you there. If you get out of here I mean!"

And in a golden yellow flash, he was gone, leaving Peter lying among the ruins of the temple with only a half dead god for company.

"Now that... was amusing..." Mictlāntēuctli choked out with a pained laugh as blood continued to pour from his eyes and mouth and the life slowly drained from his body.

"T-T-That..." Peter growled with fury as crimson red arcs of bioelectricity danced across his body in a violent flurry as he felt the pain fade away and slowly climbed to his knees, his hands tightening into fists "F-F-Filthy... damned... HUMAN!"

With a yell of sheer rage, Peter raised both fists into the air and slammed them into the ground, creating a massive tremor as he expelled a vast amount of his Venom Blasts in the form of a powerful crimson explosion that echoed for miles around and brought the centuries old temple crashing down around himself and Mictlāntēuctli...

...

The Kent Farm was perhaps the closet thing that Diana has ever encountered that could rival Themyscira in it's sheer tranquility.

Open skies with breath taking views of the night sky, remote and devoid of any city air pollution, and most of all... safe. And the caretakers, Johnathan and Martha Kent were the epitome of humanity as far as she was concerned, peaceful, compassionate, and often the sort of people that give Diana hope for the world. When Diana and Clark were still dating, and eventually engaged, she often spoke with Clark about owning a small little farmstead like his parents did, somewhere remote and peaceful to raise their family. It was to be the perfect ending for the both of them, a dream they both longed to embrace...

'A dream that will never come about' Diana thought sadly as she stood on the porch of the Kent's home with a cup of hot chocolate in her hands while she stared at the setting sun.

Diana and Clark had arrived a little over an hour ago and after a tearful reunion with Johnathan and Martha, Diana was introduced to this 'mystery person' Clark wanted her to meet... his long lost cousin from Krypton, Kara.

"Uh Diana?"

'Speak of the Devil' former Amazon Princess thought as she turned to see a young girl, barely sixteen years old, standing in the doorway of the Kent household. She gave the young Kryptonian a comforting smile "Yes Kara?"

"Dinner's almost ready" Kara said as she stepped out and on to the porch and spared a brief glance back over her shoulder with a playful scowl on her face "Assuming Kal doesn't keep 'sampling' it all"

"I'm certain the warning Martha gave him will prevent that from happening" Diana said with a chuckle as she took a sip of her drink, savoring the warmth of the liquid.

She never thought she'd miss something so basic as hot chocolate until she was handed her first mug only a few minutes prior. The smell alone was almost enough to bring the woman to tears.

"I'll believe it when I see it" Kara said with a eye roll as she turned towards the setting sun.

"Agreed" Diana said with a nod as the two settled into a comfortable silence.

So far, Kara's company had been pleasant, or at least as pleasant as a rebellious teenager's could be with super powers. She reminded Diana of Donna in a lot of ways, when she was younger and trying to prove herself Diana's equal in everyone's eyes. She asked if the two had ever met and based on the look Kara sported when she asked, Diana assumed the meeting was less than ideal.

'Perhaps I can change that before I leave' Diana thought as she noticed a small dot on the horizon, one of her Parademon guards based on the speed.

"Still can't believe it" Kara said, her eyes following the same figure as Diana's.

"Believe what?" Diana asked even though she knew what the young girl was referring to.

"You, being married to Darkseid" Kara said with a shiver.

"One of his sons" Diana corrected.

"What's the difference?" Kara asked as she glanced at Diana with a frown.

"One's admittedly more pleasing to look at" Diana said with a dry grin.

"Well that's comforting" Kara said in a sarcastic tone.

"On Apokolips, I've learned to take what I can get" Diana said as she downed the last of her drink before turning to re-enter the house "Enough talk about such unpleasant things, tell me, how are you adapting to Earth?"

"Well enough I guess" Kara answered with a shrug as she followed Diana inside "Far as societies that are thousands of years more primitive than mine was, it's not the worst to be dropped on. Least you guys have a good shoes"

"I'm happy to know my world's style of clothing meets you approval" Diana grinned as she and Kara entered the dining room to see Martha and Johnathan sitting down already while Clark, with the help of his super speed, was setting the table.

"Clark, I could've set the table myself" Martha said with a unhappy look on her face "I'm old, not helpless"

"Sorry ma" Clark said as he paused briefly to plant a small kiss on his adoptive mother's head "But as the young strong son it's kind of mandated that I do these kinds of things"

"Not in my household!" Martha scoffed while Johnathan chuckled as he took a sip of his glass of water.

"I don't mind..." the elderly man said before he noticed Diana and Kara and winked at them "You can see where Clark gets his stubbornness from"

Diana laughed at this before she saw Clark shoot a look at Kara, causing her to frown in confusion before she noticed the blonde was opening her mouth to say something before it snapped closed.

"Yeah..." the young Kryptonian said in a low voice as she glared daggers at her cousin "Runs in the family"

The look on Clark's face was almost smoldering as Kara went and sat down next to Martha.

'I guess she's not quite used to Clark's adoptive family' Diana thought as she took her own seat at the table.

"So Diana, how have things been for you?" Martha asked as Clark set the last of the food on the table and took his own seat beside Diana.

"Not too bad, all things considered" Diana answered truthfully.

"Are they treating you right?" Johnathan asked with a frown on his face "Your uh... your husband?"

"Pa..." Clark said with a sigh.

"He is" Diana said with a small nod before she smirked a little "When I'm not busy saving him from some mess he got himself into"

"Ah, a troublemaker" Johnathan said said with a snort.

"He's also been helpful in helping me... accumulate to life on Apokolips" Diana revealed.

"What is it like there?" Kara asked with a curious look on her face "Is it as bad as they say it is?"

"Kara, I didn't bring Diana over so you can play twenty questions with her" Clark shot his cousin a disproving scowl.

"What, I'm just curious is all" Kara said with an eye roll "I mean, how many people can say they've spent a year on Apokolips and left without a scratch on them?"

'None' Diana thought silently to herself as Kara and Clark seemed to be on the verge of a argument before Martha loudly cleared her throat and shut both of them down with a single pointed look on her face.

"Kara, Clark, I don't think Diana isn't exactly eager to watch you two bicker all night like cats and dogs. If I have to ask you two to behave again, your both going to your rooms for the night, understood?" the woman said in a tone that brokered no argument.

"Yes ma'am/Yes ma" Clark and Kara muttered as they seemed to shrink in on themselves.

Diana couldn't help but chuckle at this, it was always amusing to see a sweet woman like Martha more or less scold a man as powerful as Clark into submission. Super strength, flight and heat vision seemed to pale in comparison to the unknown power that almost all mothers seem to have over their children. The rest of the meal went by more smoothly with Martha and Johnathan helping Diana catch up on their daily lives in Smallville. Martha's book club had started on a new novel, Johnathan was thinking of expanding the house another room and Kara was going to be attending high school soon.

"I still don't know why I have to attend school" Kara said as she poked her food around her plate with a look of disinterest "All of the carp they teach there I learned back in Kandor when I was only five. Earth's 'college level' academics are practically Krypton's equivalent to elementary school!"

"True but you also need to be around people your own age" Clark said with a flat look "And I mean biologically, not chronologically. Trust me, you'll be thankful to have peers your own age that you can relate to"

"Oh yeah, suuuure" Kara said with an eye roll "I'm sure my homeroom will bee filled with people that know what it's like to lose your whole world and everything you ever knew"

"You'd be surprised" Diana said with her eyes narrowing slightly.

Kara turned her attention towards Diana and scoffed "Oh, you saying that I'm gonna meet another alien girl from a doomed planet during study hall?"

Diana shook her head at this while Clark shot her a warning glare "While it's true that many will not be able to relate to you in that you literally lost your world, a number of people have had their entire 'worlds' taken or destroyed by forces either outside of their control or because of a mistake they may have made"

"In Smallville, I doubt it" Kara said with a frown as she returned her attention back to her food and kept pushing it around.

"Sweetie is something wrong?" Martha asked as she placed a comforting hand on the young girl's shoulder "You haven't touched a thing since we started"

"Sorry Mrs. Kent, but I've kind of lost my appetite" Kara said with a sigh.

"Oh, why's that honey?" Martha asked with a concerned look on her face.

Kara's response was to point at the window with her fork and a scowl on her face "Because of ugly there and I'm pretty sure it's not the food he's drooling over"

Diana, Clark and the Kents all turned to see one of Diana's Parademons standing at the window, watching them while drool leaked from his mouth. The Parademon licked his maw before he let out a sort of bark before two wings emerged from his back and he quickly shot off into the air.

"Hmm... you think I should've left something for them?" Martha asked with some worry in her tone while her husband gave her a dry look.

"Honey, I don't think your famous casserole is gonna win those boys over anytime soon"

...

And done.

Next chapter, The City of Angels, Demons and everything in between.
