Chapter 7: Edward
Bella looks at Elizabeth Masen and knows her time was short. Soon the light would be too much for her to resist and she would want to walk into the light to be with her little girl Jemmalie. Who would be without a parent at the moment even though she was sure her grandparents and Edward's parents would be looking after her.
"It is time?" Bella asks Elizabeth who was near her
"Yes. MY son needs you now. You will be using most of your power staying in corporal form with him to you get back", Elizabeth tell her
"I know. He won't let me out of his sight. Where is he?" Bella asks nervously
"Rio. I'll take you too him", Elizabeth says holding out her hand
Bella takes and them soon disappear from La Push and appear in a dirty hotel.
"He is here?" Bella asks worriedly at all the grim and filth that was everywhere
"Yes he is. He wasn't taken leaving you well. He believes in punishing himself", Elizabeth tells her
"How do I tell him about me?" Bella asks her would-have-been mother-in-law
"You will have to break it ALL to them gently. But give my son these days with you as you make your way back to La Push", Elizabeth begs her
"I will", Bella vows
"Give him these last few days knowing you loved him and don't blame him", Elizabeth begs Bella
"I will do my best to comfort him and show him I still and always will love him before I go into the light. He WILL know I love him and never blame him this I swear", Bella promises
"Thank you. I am honoured to have a daughter in law like you", Elizabeth replies
"I can never be his wife Ma'am. I'm dead", Bella states
"I am sure you can have Billy Black do a ceremony. What greatest gift can you give him then him knowing he married you before you left this world", Elizabeth replies
"We will see. Thank you ma'am", Bella says nodding her head in respect
"No. Thank you", Elizabeth replies smiling before disappearing
Bella takes unnecessary breath. She knew this was going to be a tough few days to stay corporal for more then a few hours. But Edward needed this and so did she so she could move on.
She walks to the door of the room she could sense Edward in. She makes herself Corporal. And places her hand on the doorknob and knocks with the other.
She gets no reply. She sighs and opens the door. The room was dark and dingy. And was not a type of place a human would want to stay.
She looks around to see a figure huddled in the corner.
"Go away", the figure mumbles
"Oh my Edward what have you down to yourself", Bella breaths kneeling down to him
His eyes snap to hers. His shock was plausible. He was looking at her in disbelief.
"Bella?" he whispers
"Hey my love. Long time no see", Bella replies smiling gently
"You can't be here. Your just a figment of my imagination. Your not here. Your in Forks safe and happy…", Edward rambles
Bella couldn't believe he was this bad. When he said she was safe in Forks how could she ever tell him she was dead and buried. How blood didn't pump through her veins and her heart didn't beat anymore.
She knew that all the Cullen's didn't notice her heart not beating because they were too wrapped up with what was happening and too happy to see her and know of their Grandchildren, or Nieces or Nephews.
She just hoped they wouldn't notice till the last possible moment.
Edward was still rambling on about how he left her to keep her safe. And how much he loved her and wanted her to be really here.
Bella decided she needed to stop this. And only one way came too mind. She leans over and kissing his lips gently.
Edward freezes for a minute before he starts kissing her back with passion. She allows how much she loved him and misses him to go into her kiss. She wanted him to know everything she felt.
Then she breaks the kiss and leans her head on his looking deep into his black eyes. How long had it been since he hunted?
"Hello my love. Do you believe I'm real now?" she asks softly
"Bella. My Bella", Edward says pulling her into another kiss
Bella responds and kisses him back. She felt all his pain, loneliness, guilt and absolute heartbreak. Tears fall down Bella's face as she feels his emotions. Oh how it was going to hurt to tell him the truth and then to let him go.
Edward pulls away looking into Bella's eyes. He gently wipes a tear from them.
"Why are you here?" Edward asks softly
"I came to find you silly", Bella replies smiling softly
"How did you?" Edward asks
"I have my sources", Bella replies smiling secretly
"Oh Bella I'm so sorry for what I did…", Edward starts
"Edward you are always forgive. Completely and truly forgiven. You were from the moment you did what you did", Bella replies showing in her eyes all the forgiveness she had for him in her eyes
Edward looks at her eyes and sees it all. He wished he could cry. The love of his life was here and she had forgiven him. He could detect no lie in her.
"When was to last time you hunted my love?" Bella asks stroking Edward's face
Edward's black eyes widen. He was putting her in danger!
"I haven't hunted in weeks. I am putting you in danger!" Edward says backing away
"You can't put me in danger my love", Bella replies truthfully, "But you DO need to hunt before we head home"
"Home?" Edward asks confused
"Home to where our family waits", Bella tells him honestly
Bella knew her home really wasn't Forks or La Push anymore. She had a spot in Heaven waiting for her.
"Where can you go to hunt?" she asks changing subject
"There is a forest not far. But I'll need a car. And you'll need to come with me. I don't want to be away from you long", Edward tells her
"Then lets go my love", Bella replies holding out her hand
Edward takes it and leads her out of the dingy hotel room. He gets a car and starts to drive them out of the city.
"Bella what have you been doing the last few months?" Edward asks
"I have been bringing your family back together", Bella replies honesty
"How?" Edward asks
Bella tells him pieces of the truth and having to lie a bit. But she ended up telling him all the family where waiting for them in La Push.
"La Push?" Edward asks growling as he pulls over near a forest
"They are friends Edward they have helped me through difficult times", Bella tells him
"What difficult times?" Edward asks now worried
Bella sighs she was going to have to tell him about his children.
"Edward do you remember my birthday? When we both lost our virginities?" Bella asks softly
"Yes. Why…", Edward starts
"Two days after you left I found myself pregnant", Bella informs him
Edward becomes as still as a Statue.
"You have two little boys and two little girls waiting for you at home. They are all excited too meet you. They don't blame you for leaving my love. They just what their Daddy home for Christmas and I really want to deliver this gift too them", Bella tells him
"How?" Edward stutters out after a time
"Vampire Girls can't get pregnant because their bodies can't change. But male vampires who sleep with female humans can. As of course human females bodies can change. They grow fast. I was only pregnant for around a month", Bella informs him
"I need to breath and think", Edward replies dashing out
Leaving Bella alone in the car. She sighs she knew this would be a big shock for Edward. But she wanted him to digest the fact he was a father before they got to Forks. He needed to know before he travelled to Forks unlike the rest of the family.
Bella goes semi-corporal as she wanted to save her cosmic energy. She looks out the windows. It was so beautiful here. Oh how she wished she got to see more of the world. But she would never change having her babies or her life. She would ALWAYS pick them.
It was 2 hours later when she senses Edward near. She quickly goes fully Corporal again. She had a book she had been pretending to read.
He gets in the car his eyes were the beautiful golden colour she loved so much.
"I am so sorry I left you love it was just so much to take in. I'm…", Edward starts
"Edward your forgiven. Always I know it is a shock. It was to me when I found out!" Bella replies smiling at him
"How can you forgive me?" Edward asks puzzled
"Easy because we're soulmates. I could never stay angry at you", Bella replies honestly
"Bella I love you more then life its self would you marry me?" Edward asks pulling out a ring
Bella gasps. She didn't expect him to do this.
"Where did you get this?" Bella asks softly
"I have had it on me since your 18th Birthday", Edward replies
Bella didn't know what to do. Could she marry him and then tell him she was already dead? Or could she give him and her family a day they could remember who she was with a smile on her face. That sounded the better of the two scenarios.
Edward took her silence for rejection.
"I am sorry it was…", Edward starts
"Yes Edward I will marry you", Bella replies, "On one condition"
"What is that my love?" Edward asks looking at her with hope in his eyes
"We get married on Boxing Day", Bella replies, "I don't want another day to go by not married to you"
"Agreed. But Alice will throw a fit", Edward smirks
"She can all she likes but this is our decision", Bella replies
"May I put the ring on you?" he asks
"You may", Bella replies holding out her hand
The ring fit on her perfectly like it was made for her. Oh how Bella wished she would be able to wear this forever. But she knew it was only coming to be for a short time.
Bella kisses him to get rid of the thoughts she would have to leave him and their children soon. Even now the bright light she always saw was getting brighter and brighter and it was calling to her. Like it was home.
It was getting harder for her to stay. Her unfinished business was nearly complete here. So she would have to make the most of the last few days she had left with her family. The first and last Christmas she would have with her babies. The wedding she would only celebrate briefly. But she wanted to pass on being Mrs Edward Masen-Cullen. She just hoped he would understood when the time came to tell him she was dead. And not take it too badly.
But she knew that was only a small hope.
"Lets go home", Edward says simply putting the car in gear
"Lets. The kids what to meet you. I told them all about you", Bella tells him
"Tell me about them please"
