Hey, everyone. WaterDragonMaverick here with my next chapter of "Go Go RWBY Rangers". In the last chapter, we got to meet a few new characters, got some weaponry upgrades for the heroes, and Jaune unlocked his Power Ranger ability. But after seeing Jaune do that, Salem and her forces decide to go with a new approach that involves Adam Taurus. Just what will happen to our heroes? Find out in this new installment, "Beauties and The Beast".

You may have taken the lead, but I'll even the score!

In Salem's castle, the cursed witch slowly made her way to one of the many rooms in her citadel. Approaching one of the doors, she heard the sounds flames roaring and grunts of effort as her subordinates trained themselves. Soon, she made her way to another door and opened it to see Adam Taurus training his swordsmanship. Salem watched as the Bull Faunus cut down Gremlin after Gremlin that attacked him, blocking their attacks with his blade before unleashing powerful slashes that trailed with absorbed energy from the attacks he stopped. As he cut down the final Gremlin in the room, Salem slowly applauded the Faunus' skill. "Very good, Adam Taurus," the witch said like a mother praising a child.

"Why is it that you needed to break me out of prison like that? With the power Cinder gave me, all I needed was a weapon and I would have escaped myself," Adam said as he stared down Salem.

"It should be stated that I was the one that gave Cinder her own powers," Salem told Adam. "The ones she had when first meeting you, at least."

"That still doesn't answer my question," Adam retorted.

"I had Hazel break you out because I know you have a score to settle with the Rangers and can still fight," Salem answered.

"Believe me, I do," Adam said as he remembered his losses against the Power Rangers, losing the White Fang's loyalty, and blamed it all on Blake Belladonna. "If you want me to deal with the Power Rangers, I will. They will die by my blade. Especially those traitors to the Faunus," he stated as he mentioned Blake, Sun, and Ilia.

"Don't fret," Salem told Adam. "We'll send you into the field when the time is right. And from what I've been seeing, that will be soon," the witch said ominously.

After yet another week of school work after stopping the last monster attack, the Power Rangers were excited to do something fun for the weekend with their friends. "Oh, this is going to be great," Jaune said as he opened up a backpack. "It's been a while since I went camping. Me and my sisters loved it."

"It'll be great to see everything nature has to offer," Pyrrha remarked with a smile.

"Let's just hope that your magnet powers don't affect our compass," Nora said with a laugh. Pyrrha nervously chuckled in response.

"Okay, let's see here. Tents, sleeping bags, marshmallows, spare clothes, Zwei... Anything else I should bring," Ruby asked as she went over the supplies and dog in front of her.

"Bring with you where," Penny asked as she walked into view with Pietro joining her.

"Hi, Penny. We're going camping this weekend," Ruby explained as Zwei went over to meet the scientist in the robotic chair. "We'll be spending time in the forest's campgrounds. Watching the stars, roasting marshmallows, enjoying nature. It's all great!"

"Unless it rains," Weiss says.

"It won't," Ren explained. "This weekend is supposed to have clear and warm weather."

"It'll be great to get out of the city for a while. Besides, if monsters attack while we're out, we can just teleport there," Ruby said.

"Camping sounds really enjoyable," Penny said with a smile. "Can I go with them, Father?"

"I don't see why not, Penny," Pietro replied with a smile as he scratched Zwei's ears.

"Thank you," the robot girl said as she hugged Pietro. "This is going to be sensational!"

"Well, you'll probably want to help us pack up," Yang said as she noticed Ruby putting a whole cookie jar into her backpack. "We're heading out when we have everything."

"It's best to pack the essentials," Jaune stated as he made sure to add a canteen into his bag. "But you'll never know what you'll run into when out in nature, so make sure to pack some things you think can help."

Soon, everyone had what they wanted to bring and were ready to head off. "Alright! Rangers, let's go camping," Ruby declared as she and Zwei lead the way outside with Penny happily following her best friend.

Back at Salem's castle, the witch had her subordinates meeting up together in order to make their next move. "The Power Rangers have gone to the Emerald Forest," Salem told everyone. "The best plan of attack would be to separate them from each other and send in a pair of monsters to destroy them."

"You said that I would be able to get my revenge," Adam exclaimed as he slammed a fist on the table.

"And you will," Salem said as she had a Gremlin bring a lion mask with extra details to her. "I will give you the power to do so if you choose to wear this mask," she told the Bull Faunus.

Without a moment's hesitation, Adam put the mask on his scarred face and Salem's hand began to glow a dark crimson color as energy swirled around the Faunus. The other subordinates watched as Adam's body changed into that of a bipedal manticore. While he was the same height, he now had a horned lion's head with his 'SDC' brand still over his eye, a pair of wings on his back that looked like they could let him fly briefly, and a scorpion-like tail that could detach into a sword and sheath. Inspecting his new form, Adam grinned evilly. "Oh, I'll enjoy the power this gives me," the monster said as he could tell what abilities he had with his new form.

"And you'll need some help with holding back the other Rangers," Salem added as she had a second Gremlin bring several snakes to her. Raising her hand once more, black energy enveloped the serpents and the Gremlin released its hold on them as everyone watched the new monster form. The snakes fused together until they formed a monster that stood at 6'3" with a very menacing appearance. While the normal head of the monster resembled a snake's own head with a cobra-themed helmet, there were many more on its body in the form of armor. Two snake heads formed shoulders before turning into arms with snake heads for gauntlet designs while the legs of the monster had snake heads for boots and greaves, giving the monster a total of nine heads. The chest of the monster also had a red cobra-like design over the black scales of its entire body. "King Hydra. Please provide some assistance to your partner and handle the Power Rangers you come across."

"Yessss, my queen," King Hydra hissed as he bowed before Salem loyally.

"Leave the Black Power Ranger and her closest friends to me," Adam growled at the snake monster.

"Assss you wisssshhh," King Hydra agreed. "I will handle the resssst."

"Good," Adam said as he and King Hydra soon had portals appear under their feet. "I'm coming for you, my darling," the beast said evilly as he referred to Blake.

"Well, that guy is creepy," Mercury remarked on Adam as the two monsters left. "Not as bad as him, though," he added as he gestured to Tyrian, who only shrugged with a chuckle of amusement.

"The rest of you return to your assignments," Salem said to everyone before speaking to Watts privately. "It appears that the work on everything is proceeding faster than expected. You may be able to use some of your other projects to combat the Rangers should they continue their victories."

"It would definitely be a pleasure to show what I'm capable of to Ozpin's technological supporters," Watts remarked. "General Ironwood and that fat imbecile have been a thorn in my side for years. Especially with that idiot's project becoming a Power Ranger itself."

"You'll have your chance later, Doctor Watts," Salem told the scientist. "For now, continue with your work. It may prove useful against the Rangers at a later time."

The Power Rangers all made it to their campsite in the Emerald Forest, seeing that some of the other students from Beacon and some locals were also enjoying the nice weather and camping themselves. "Ah... Smell that fresh air," Jaune said as he put his bag down and took a deep breath. "There's just something about camping that's so relaxing. It almost makes me want to sing a song."

"Don't even," Sun warned as he dropped his own bag. "I came out here to enjoy a nap in a hammock. Not to hear you sing the Camp Camp Theme Song Song," the Monkey Faunus remarked as he started unpacking his bag and helped the girls out with their own supplies.

While everyone was setting up camp, Penny was amazed at the sights around her. The clear skies, the singing birds, the freshwater stream nearby, the green trees, and even some butterflies that circled around Azalea Calla Holstein, who was camping with her friends just nearby. "Ruby, you were right. This is wonderful," Penny told the Red Ranger, who threw a stick for Zwei to fetch.

"I know. It's really nice," she said before opening her backpack and grabbing a cookie from the jar she packed. "This weekend will be a good one."

"Well, help us out then. Can't enjoy it if we don't have a tent set up," Yang said as everyone watched Weiss struggling to do just that. Soon, the others began to work on their campsite and everything was set up within an hour. "Well, that's that," Yang said as she dusted off her hands.

"Nice work, everyone," Ruby said as she looked at their campsite. "Now we can relax and enjoy ourselves," she stated before throwing another stick for Zwei to fetch.

As the Rangers began to relax, they had no immediate clue that they were being watched from a distance. "There they are," Adam Taurus said to King Hydra. The serpent monster placed a small snake on Adam's shoulder, which allowed him to give the manticore his own abilities of stealth and hide from Penny's sensors.

"How will we deal with them," King Hydra questioned. "Her Graccce told us to ssseparate them," the monster hissed.

"I'll take the Black Ranger," Adam said as he glared at Blake, who was reading a book while Yang and Sun were playing games on their Scrolls next to her. "You can take care of the rest. But if possible, I'd like to also take out the White Ranger for what her family's company did to me."

"Very well," King Hydra said before he extended a pair of blades from the snake gauntlets he wore. "We ssshall take them away from each other," the serpentine creature said as he also pulled out a bag of Black Beads and offered a few to Adam.

"You'll pay for betraying me," Adam growled as he continued to look in Blake's direction before taking flight to a different direction.

The Power Rangers were enjoying their afternoon peacefully with their own things. Ren was fishing at the river with Nora joining him, Jaune and Pyrrha were gathering firewood for the night, Blake started to read another book while Sun napped in his hammock, Oscar and Weiss were enjoying the fresh air, Yang and Ruby played games on their Scrolls, and Penny was looking around the campsite studying the various insects. But as Penny was smiling while watching a beetle crawl up a tree, she suddenly stood up and her smile faded. "Gremlins are nearby," she told the others just before their Scrolls received an alert.

"You're right," Oscar said as he and Weiss checked the latter's Scroll. "They're all around the place."

"We'll need to split up to take care of them all," Ruby told the others. Everyone agreed and separated to handle whatever Gremlins they could with whoever they were paired up with. Ruby went with Penny and Oscar, Weiss went with Jaune and Pyrrha, Ren and Nora teamed up together, Sun and Yang went on their own way, but Blake went on her own with the reasoning that she could sneak past whatever came her way before transforming.

Ruby, Penny, and Oscar soon found the first group after a few minutes of traveling through the woods, making their way to a clearing that was a short distance from the campsite. "There they are," Oscar said as a group of ten Gremlins spotted the Rangers. "Let's take care of them," the boy said as he pulled out his weapon and Morpher, the Clockwork Cane.

"Okay," Penny said with a smile and a salute as she instantly morphed into her Cyber Ranger form.

Soon after she did, Ruby and Oscar changed into their own Ranger forms and joined the battle. Ruby stayed at a distance and used her Wolf Rose Blaster to strike at the Gremlins from a distance while Oscar swung the Clockwork Cane like a baseball bat. The Emerald Ranger was able to knock the Gremlins aside into Ruby's shots or even smash them to pieces on his own. As the two did that, Penny used her Cyber Blades to slash or shoot at the Gremlins close to her before all of them were destroyed. "That's the last of them," Ruby said as she landed a headshot on the final Gremlin. "Guys, how are you doing," she asked as she contacted the other Rangers.

"Doing fine," Jaune said as he answered the call while blocking a Gremlin's attack with his shield, then slashing them in half with his sword. "Pyrrha and Weiss are doing well, so they don't even need my new Aura Amp power," he said as the two girls stabbed their targets in the chest and watched them shatter against some trees in the forest.

"We're good, too," Sun said as he and Yang took out five Gremlins each in a grotto.

"Same here," Ren answered as he and Nora took out their own enemies as they fought in a hillside area.

"How about you, Blake," Ruby asked as she tried to get the Black Ranger on the line. "Blake?"

"She must be in an area of the forest with poor reception," Penny guessed. "If I was back at the lab, I would be able to boost the signal."

"We'll just have to let her do her own thing," Nora said.

The others agreed that Blake could handle herself, but Yang still thought that something was wrong with the situation. "Why have all these Gremlins out in all these different areas," the Gold Ranger questioned.

"I don't know," Sun remarked. "But you're right. This seemed too easy."

"I'm going to go find Blake," Yang said as she summoned her Hunter Cycle to search the Emerald Forest easier. "The monsters she went after were up the river, so I'll go that way. You regroup with the others, Sun."

"Got it," the monkey-tailed Yellow Ranger said as he went to help their friends. With Sun jumping through the trees to make his way back, Yang sped off through the forest on her bike.

The Power Rangers all soon gathered at their campsite while in Ranger form to discuss what happened. "Why would those Gremlins show up in all those places? It doesn't make sense," Weiss remarked.

"Neither does Blake not answering us," Sun added.

"Something doesn't seem right," Jaune muttered to himself.

As everyone wondered what was going on, Ren sensed something approaching them. "Everybody down," the Green Ranger exclaimed before something attacked. With quick reflexes, Ren was able to use the blades of his weapon to decapitate a large black snake that shot out from underground. "Be careful," he warned as he aimed his guns at something approaching from the forest.

"That was one big snake," Nora remarked as she watched the serpent Ren killed evaporate into black smoke.

"Not as big as that one," Ruby said as she watched King Hydra step into view.

The serpentine monstrosity looked at the Power Rangers with intrigue on its face, or what they thought looked like it on a snake. "I mussst hand it to you, Rangersss," King Hydra hissed. "I did not believe you could ssslay my firssst attack."

"So, you're the one that sent out the Gremlins? Why," Pyrrha questioned as she raised her spear and shield. "Why put them all over the place if you were just going to attack us here?"

"I don't have to sssay why," the monster said with his verbal tic. "Jussst know that I can take care of who isss here now."

Hearing the monster's words, Ozpin pondered what he meant before speaking to Oscar in his head. "This was a trap. He wanted to separate a few of us immediately," Ozpin told the boy.

"Blake," Oscar said as he realized what Ozpin and King Hydra meant.

"What did you do with her," Ren questioned as he held his weapons steady.

"Oh, I haven't done anything to her," King Hydra stated. "It'sss what my ssspiteful partner wantsss."

"Partner," Sun repeated as a question as he tried to think of who would want to get Blake away from the others. But hearing the word 'spiteful', the Yellow Ranger immediately realized there was one person that would go after Blake. "ADAM!"

"That freak from the White Fang," Nora asked as she remembered the Bull Faunus that attacked them and broke Yang's arm once.

"Adam Taurus did manage to escape custody when Hazel Rainart was on the attack," Penny stated.

Realizing that Hazel broke out Adam to help Salem, the Rangers were ready to head off to help Blake before King Hydra fired a stream of black sludge from his hands. "I apologize, but your fight isss with me," the snake hissed. "Your friend hasss other problemsss at the moment."

After reaching the location where Gremlins were detected, Blake was surprised to see that nothing was there. As she searched the area, the Black Ranger soon noticed broken shards of black glass that Gremlins turned into when destroyed. Before she could question it, her instincts told her to get out of the way of something. Jumping back, she watched as a small tree in front of her was cut into pieces and a manticore-like monster slowly walked toward her. Seeing the mark over its eye, she immediately knew who it was. "Adam!?"

"Hello, my darling," Adam greeted Blake with a sinister voice. "It's finally nice to have time to ourselves. Do you like my new look?"

"You became a monster!? Why," Blake exclaimed as she looked at the manticore-like beast in front of her.

"To deal with you and your friends once and for all. I've waited so long for you to be away from them," Adam stated as he held his scorpion tail sword in his hands. Tightening his grip on the blade, he swung the sword with a quickdraw motion and released a wave of energy that tore apart several trees near Blake just as she jumped out of the way. "This new form gives me more power than I had when I met that woman, Cinder," he stated as he swung the blade more to try cutting away at Blake while she was unmorphed.

The Black Ranger continued to dodge Adam's attacks with her Shadow Clone power until she had enough room to get her Morphing Scroll out. As she pulled out the device, she noted that there was barely any signal to call the others. "I'm too far out in the woods. He must have known," Blake said to herself as she looked at Adam rushing toward her. Avoiding another one of his attacks, she got behind Adam and kicked him away to have room to transform. "Hunter Aura! Ranger Form! Power Up!"

After morphing, Blake blocked one of Adam's attacks with her own swords, but she could feel the power he had behind his blade. She watched as sparks came off both of their weapons and Adam began to push her back slowly, as if he was only toying with her at the moment. "Do you see what happens when you abandon me, Blake," Adam asked evilly as he stared down the Black Ranger. "When I defeat you, I'll take my time hunting down each of your friends and killing them in front of you," he said with an evil smirk on his face.

Scared of Adam's power and threat, Blake used her power to escape and started to run off, following the river upstream. Adam growled as he started to chase after Blake, ready to make her suffer at his hands. "Move on and forget everything, Adam," Blake said to him as she dodged or deflected more of his sword swings. "I don't want anything to do with your life."

"Just forget our memories together? I let you go once already, Blake," Adam told her as he tightened his grip on the sword and released an energy wave that Blake avoided with a clone throwing her to safety. "I'm never making that mistake again." The two began to clash weapons once again, but Blake continued to use her clones to escape and used her weapon's kusarigama form to pull herself toward the larger trees, leaping from them like a ninja. "Can you do anything besides run!?"

Blake only focused on escaping the manticore beast and ignored his words, throwing her kusarigama toward the next tree. However, Adam countered by firing a stinger made of energy from his sword, causing it to hit the weapon and prevent it from grappling its target. Adam went in for a downward slash, but Blake managed to avoid it by twisting her body in the air, then fired some potshots at the monster as she ran. If she wasn't morphed into Ranger form, she thought she would have only lost a coat she would have worn. Running up a few trees, Blake managed to get up to a cliff near a waterfall located in the area.

Soon, Adam reached her and the two were standing in front of the waterfall with their weapons ready for battle. Clashing with each other again, Blake used her clones to avoid Adam's sword swings before using the bladed sheath of her sword to grab Adam's sword and disarm him. Adam growled at how Blake was able to trick him, then spat fireballs at her thanks to the powers from his monster form. Avoiding the flames, Blake continued to fight Adam with more clones to dodge kicks or fireballs before he grabbed at her wrists. "I wouldn't have been doing this if you just behaved back then," Adam shouted before grabbing at his tail-sword's handle. With a swift motion, he threw aside Blake's sheath before smashing the pommel of his sword into Blake's head and knocking her down. "But you're selfish," Adam shouted as he jumped up to slash at Blake, who dodged the attack after her ears stopped ringing. She tried to block Adam's sword swings more, but the force of them pushed her back and she rolled on the ground. "You're a coward!"

"You're delusional," Blake said bitterly as she tried picking herself up and glared at Adam from under her helmet. Adam scowled as he marched up to Blake and prepared an energy slash to end Blake, but she blocked with her sword and sacrificed it to defend herself. The black blade shattered in half and was lying on the ground away from Blake and Adam.

With Blake defenseless and unmorphed from the sheer force behind the energy slash he used, Adam simply looked at Blake as she avoided eye contact with him. "People hurt me long before we met. All sorts of people in all sorts of ways," Adam stated as he gestured to his branded eye. "But no one hurt me quite like you. You didn't leave scars. You just left me alone." As Adam spoke to Blake, she heard something approaching them thanks to her cat ears, but Adam was unaware of it. "So, tell me, Blake. How does it feel to be alone," he asked her before gripping his sword again. With a roar, Adam stabbed Blake in the same area he did last time, but Blake's body soon vanished to reveal she escaped by a clone substitute.

"I'm not alone," Blake stated as she picked up the bladed sheath of her weapon. As Adam glared at her with anger, he soon heard the roaring engine of a motorcycle above him. Looking up, he saw somebody drive a motorcycle off the cliff above them and jump off the vehicle with a stylish flip. Adam's eyes widened in surprise just before the bike crashed into him, knocking the air out of his lungs and forcing him to the ground. The bike continued tumbling forward and soon splashed down into the river below the cliff.

As the figure made a perfect three-point landing next to Blake, Adam looked up and saw it was the Gold Ranger. "You," he growled at the sight of Yang Xiao Long, but was silenced with a projectile blast from her Dragon Gauntlets that he had to block.

"Yang," Blake said as she saw the Gold Ranger, but she grabbed her sides in pain since Adam's last attack was stronger than she thought.

"It's okay. Catch your breath for a second," Yang told her friend. "I can hold him off."

"She's right, Blake. It's okay," Adam said as he prepared his sword. "We have... unfinished business."

Back at the main campsite, the other Rangers were defending themselves against King Hydra. But it was much more of a challenge for them because of his various abilities. "Isss that the bessst you can do," the snake monster questioned as he split his body apart into multiple serpents to dodge a barrage of ranged attacks. Reforming, he fired black sludge at the Rangers, which exploded after splashing onto the ground. While Ren was distracted by the cloud of dust kicked up from the attack, King Hydra created a large black snake of energy to slam into the Green Ranger and knock him aside.

"Ren," exclaimed Nora before she went to attack the serpentine beast, slamming her weapon into the construct's head and causing it to vanish before she tried swinging the weapon into King Hydra. However, the monster grabbed the weapon and shot more sludge at Nora to counter. "Aaaargh!" The Pink Ranger screamed as the liquid landed on her uniform and immediately exploded, sending her flying away.

After Nora was dealt with, Ruby and Penny tried to attack the enemy with their blasters, only to miss when King Hydra separated into a swarm of snakes once again. "We need to keep him in one place," Ruby shouted to the others.

"There has to be a way to deal with this snake," Oscar said as he tried to attack King Hydra as he reformed, but wasn't doing much damage to the monster. Soon, Sun joined in and the two attempted to strike at the serpent's face, only for the monster to shed its skin as a decoy similar to Blake's shadow clones. "That's just disgusting," Oscar remarked.

"Agreed," replied Ozpin in Oscar's mind just before King Hydra knocked the boys away with new snake constructs used as whips. "This enemy is a formidable one. I wonder if he has the same weaknesses as a normal snake?"

As Ozpin was pondering the potential flaws of King Hydra, Jaune and Weiss were discussing their own plan of attack while Pyrrha kept the monster distracted with Ruby and Penny. "If it's a snake, wouldn't he cold-blooded," Jaune questioned.

"That's a possibility," Weiss answered. "I'll need a boost."

Nodding at the White Ranger, Jaune used his power to increase the abilities she had. Soon, she glowed with a white and blue aura before a glyph appeared in front of her. "What'ssss thisss," King Hydra hissed questionably as he spied the spinning glyph. Suddenly, a gust of freezing wind blasted toward the monster and he recoiled in pain as frost formed on his scales. "Ssssso cold," King Hydra said as felt more ice and frost forming on his body. "Mussst. Shed. Ssskin."

"Get him before he has the chance," Jaune shouted to the others as he and Weiss drew their swords, charging at the monster. Reaching King Hydra, Jaune and Weiss were able to slash at the snake a few times before they backed away and let the others attack with their ranged weapons. King Hydra let out cries of pain as he was blasted and flew backward with the frost beginning to melt off of him. "Let's end this before he gets back up," Jaune called out as Team JNPR regrouped and formed the Paladin Claymore.

At the same time, Oscar squeezed the handle of his cane and the gears inside began to spin. As they did, the weapon began to glow with a gold and emerald shine while Ozpin took control to aid in the finishing attack. "Magical Break," Oscar said with his voice and Ozpin's merged together before thrusting the cane forward like a pool cue. When the Emerald Ranger did that, a large orb of magical energy released from the tip and broke into a dozen smaller orbs that bounced around until they collided with King Hydra at the same time Team JNPR's Paladin Claymore slashed the monster, causing it to explode.

After slaying the monster, the Rangers regrouped and started to talk. "Have any of you been able to call Blake or Yang," Sun questioned. "Adam's out there after her," he reminded everyone of the Black Ranger's situation.

"I'll try boosting the communication range of our Scrolls with some of my systems," Penny said as she began to fiddle with the Scroll implanted into her arm. "If I can successfully do so, we'll be able to get a message out to the girls."

"I just hope they're alright," Ruby says to herself as she was worried for her friend and sister.

At the same time the Rangers were battling King Hydra, Blake was watching Yang and Adam stare each other down at the waterfall. The two prepared themselves and waited for the other to make a move first. As they did, Adam's body briefly gave off a red glow while he slowly walked to a new position. When he did, he rushed toward Yang and she dodged his first two sword swings. But Adam used his powers as a monster to create tangible afterimages that attacked Yang, forcing her to block the strikes with her Dragon Gauntlets. With the copies disappearing after their strikes, Adam swung his sword to push the defending Gold Ranger back. Yang responded to the initial assault by preparing her weapon to fight and deflected Adam's sword when he threw it at her. Adam watched the blade get punched away and put into the ground, so he rushed at her and kicked the girl before retrieving his main weapon. "Take this," Adam exclaimed as he slashed at Yang three times, only for her to block each attack.

After Yang was able to defend herself, she ran toward Adam to retaliate against the manticore beast. Getting close enough that she could hit him, she dodged two of his sword swings before punching at the monster, who started blocking a punch with his sword before Yang slammed her fist into his gut. With the first strike in, she followed through with a flurry of punches that went into an uppercut before she kicked him to the ground. When Adam landed back on the ground, he rushed toward Yang, only for her to catch his sword arm and hold it back while she wailed on his exposed body before striking him in the head with a hard punch. As Adam stood standing from it, Yang went to attack again by unleashing a flurry of punches, only for Adam to block each one with his sword and glow with each blocked hit. Thinking of another tactic, Yang used the recoil of her Dragon Gauntlets to send her flying for a kick that Adam blocked, only for Yang to spin around and slam her other foot into Adam's face.

With the monster pushed back, Yang threw several punches in front of her and sent blasts of energy from her gauntlets. However, Adam blocked each projectile with his sword and created a new set of afterimages as he ran around the Gold Ranger. Confused by where he was among the circling copies, Yang soon saw the monster leaping in the air and drive his sword into the ground to unleash an energy wave that she had to block. "It looks like his main power is similar to yours," Blake said as she watched Yang skid to her side. "He can block attacks and absorb energy from them, storing up until he's ready to attack."

"So, he gets to dish out damage without actually feeling it," Yang said as she heard Blake's explanation. "That's just cheap," she said with an annoyed sigh. "Perfect for a little wimp that had to use a robot and a monster transformation to fight us." Yang went back into battle by propelling herself forward with her Dragon Gauntlets, countering Adam's attempt to slash her by using the weapon's recoil to maneuver through the air and land another spinning kick to his head. As she landed, Adam tried to cut her down, only for her to use her weapon's recoil to push her away from his attack range. Charging into battle again, Yang jumped into the air and used her gauntlets to redirect herself to avoid a fireball attack from Adam, then smash her fist into his head again. Following through with some kicks to his chest, she was ready to slam her fist into his face before he blocked her attack and pushed her backward.

"Yang," Blake exclaimed as she watched her friend get close to the edge of the cliff they were on. Yang was able to stay on and the two girls looked at each other in concern. Adam saw the body language between the two and was pissed that Blake showed more worry over the Gold Ranger than she ever did to him in their past. Growling as he channeled his stored energy, he was ready to unleash a devastating energy wave from his sword at Yang. "YANG," Blake shouted as she watched Yang get blasted by a red wave of energy. When the dust cleared, Blake and Adam saw that Yang was unharmed and the only damage dealt was a large scratch on her Dragon Gauntlet and a growing crack in her visor. However, the force of the attack nearly made her fall off the cliff's edge.

Looking at Adam with an annoyed expression on her face, Yang spoke to the monster. "Leave. Us. Alone. This is your last chance," Yang told him.

Adam glared at the two girls as they looked ready to fight if he did anything. However, he noticed that Yang's left hand was trembling and realized that she was still afraid of him after the time he broke her arm. The monster smirked evilly as he spoke to the Gold Ranger with a small chuckle. "Do you really believe that? Or are you just trying to scare me away so you won't die trying to protect her," Adam said to intimidate Yang, who responded by going into a defensive stance with a growl and her hand still trembling.

Before either fighter could do something, Blake walked up to Yang and held her shaking hand. "She's not trying to protect me, Adam," Blake stated. "And I'm not protecting her either," she added as she looked at Yang, who smiled under her helmet. "We're teammates. We're friends. But even more than that, we're protecting each other."

The girls glared at Adam, who dismissed their unity against him. "You knew you couldn't win with the other Power Rangers back when I was still a normal Faunus," the manticore beast said. "What makes you so sure you can win now?"

"Well for one, my dad could beat you up without any weapons," Yang retorted, irritating Adam.

"And I don't have a choice," Blake said. "I have people who actually care about me! And I'm never leaving them," Blake stated. "So, I'm not dying now. That's a promise!"

Yang smiled at how Blake was standing against Adam, but he only gazed at them before speaking. "You know, she made a promise to me once," he stated looking at Yang. "That she'd always be at my side. And look at how well she's kept it."

"Did she make that promise to you? Or the person you were pretending to be," Yang responded by questioning Adam, making it clear she wasn't going to let him play mind games with either of them.

Adam glared at the Gold Ranger before turning his attention back to Blake. "So, I just wasn't that good enough for you?"

"You know it was so much more than that," Blake replied, remembering all the times Adam was a manipulative jerk and all the innocent lives he was willing to snuff out to spite humanity.

"I know you've made your choice, Blake. And I've made mine," Adam said to her as he put his hands back on his tail sword. In response, Yang got into a fighting stance while Blake grabbed her Scroll and morphed back into Ranger Form. Unfortunately, her weaponry was still broken from her earlier fight with Adam and her main blade was broken on the ground while she held the cleaver-like sheath. The girls stared down a glaring Adam before they rushed forward to fight once more. Using their superior agility, Blake and Yang delivered back and forth strikes while dodging Adam's slashes and fireballs. Soon, Blake used her clones to avoid Adam's attacks and kicked him back toward Yang for her to punch the monster in the back.

"Keep it up," Yang called out to her partner as they saw Adam recover from the attack. Blake eventually got near the handle of her broken sword and grabbed it to throw like a kusarigama at Adam, but the monster deflected it and Yang gasped. Going for the weapon herself, she took hold of it and swung Blake around as she held onto the weapon's ribbon. Using the momentum of the motion, Blake went in for a strike that Adam had to block with his sword. After a clash that kept Blake in the air for a moment, the two Faunus were pushed back from each other due to the sheer power. While Adam was able to use his monster form's wings to help adjust himself in the air, Blake was sent into the cliff of the waterfall and it caused her morph to fail again. "BLAKE," Yang cried out as she saw her friend trying to stay on the cliff's rocky platforms instead of falling into the water below. Before she could help her, she heard Adam preparing his sword.

The manticore beast smirked as he stared down the Gold Ranger with his sword filled with the energy from the attack he blocked seconds ago. "Moment of truth, Yang," Adam said as he held his sword in a quickdraw stance. "Do you think you're faster than you were the last time?" As she heard his words, she began to tremble once again as she remembered the first time they clashed and he ended up causing her arm to break. Adam noticed Yang's reaction to his words and was surprised before giving a small chuckle. "Me neither," he said before he rushed at her. Swinging his sword and forcing her to dodge, Adam was able to deliver a few spinning kicks to Yang while also hitting her with the sheath of his weapon. "That armor is bound to be breaking with the damage I've been dealing," he stated to Yang. She panted heavily as she was getting exhausted from the fight, but she was more focused on the cliff as she saw Blake climbing back up. "Hit me already," Adam exclaimed as he tried to attack Yang again, but she only kept dodging his sword swings. "WHAT DOES SHE EVEN SEE IN YOU," he shouted as he got angrier about the Gold Ranger's relationship with Blake, throwing his sword at Yang like a buzzsaw she had to block and left her open to an overhead strike when he caught the blade. As Yang was knocked down, she watched Blake climbing the waterfall cliff to get into the right position while going unnoticed by Adam. "YOU'RE JUST A COWARD LIKE HER," Adam angrily exclaimed as red and black sparks erupted off his body and he unleashed an energy wave at Yang.

Seeing the attack coming her way, Yang had a determined and angry look under her cracking helmet before she blocked the attack and took more damage while a dust cloud was kicked up around her. With Yang's vision obscured by his last attack, Adam went for a final overhead strike to kill the Gold Ranger. As the dust began to clear, the manticore growled while catching his breath. But, his look of anger soon changed to one of surprise when he noticed the Ranger's helmet was broken apart and her head was uncovered while she held his blade in her right hand. "Gotcha," Yang said as she looked at Adam with red eyes and her blonde hair burning like a golden flame. Immediately when she said that, she pulled back her left arm and cocked her Dragon Gauntlet, letting Adam know he was screwed. "SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR RIBS," Yang shouted as she delivered a gut punch that was so strong that it not only knocked Adam a good distance away, but it tore up solid rock while he was skidding on the ground. Adam groaned in pain before growling in anger as he reached for his sword, only to notice it wasn't with him. "I may not be faster, but I'm stronger and smarter," she stated as she held onto Adam's sword. "You won't be needing this anymore."

"No," Adam cried out as he watched Yang throw his sword off the bridge and into the water. Running to try grabbing it, he was soon sucker-punched by Blake when she delivered an uppercut while making her final climb back up. As he recoiled from the punch, he stumbled on Blake's broken weapon and the two noticed it. The two rushed for the handle of the broken blade to continue fighting, which Yang noticed and she ran toward Adam again to help Blake. As the three made their runs, Blake was the first to grab her broken weapon while Yang took the other end of the sword in her hand to use as a knife. Running through Adam at the same time, the girls impaled the extremist-turned-monster through his chest with the blades covered in blood. "Oh...," Adam said as he looked at the blades in his twitching body. Yang and Blake pulled their weapons out and watched him stagger forward. "I'm... not done... yet," Adam said as his appearance fluctuated between his normal and monster forms before falling off the cliff. As he hit the cliffside with a sickening 'crunch' and fell into the water, his body began to spark with as much red and black energy as it could muster as he drifted down the river.

As Adam Taurus finally died, Blake fell to her knees and began sobbing. Yang saw this and immediately dropped the broken blade she held, focusing more on comforting her friend after the man who manipulated her was killed by their hands in self-defense. Yang hugged Blake tightly as the Cat Faunus sobbed and returned the hug. "I... I am not going to break my promise," she said tearfully, talking about how she wouldn't leave the Power Rangers like she did back in the White Fang.

"I know you won't," Yang replied as the two continued their embrace. Their moment was soon interrupted when Yang's Morphing Scroll signaled that she was getting a call. "Hello," she answered as she put her Scroll on speaker.

"Yang! Are you and Blake alright," said Ruby as she sounded worried.

"Ruby, we're okay," Yang told her sister. "We're still alive."

"What happened," asked Weiss as the other Rangers gathered around Penny, who was able to boost the signal of her Morphing Scroll's communications to reach Blake and Yang.

"Did that Adam creep show up," Sun questioned, hoping the girls weren't injured too badly.

"Don't worry," Yang told everyone. "We did what we had to do."

"At least he's going back to jail," Pyrrha remarked.

When the White Ranger said that, Ruby heard Yang wince. "What happened," Ruby asked, knowing her sister wasn't saying something.

Before Yang or Blake could say anything, Ozpin took over Oscar's body to speak with the Rangers. "In my past lives, I've had to do many things that I only did because there was no other option. Some of them I regret immensely, but others were completely necessary and justified," Ozpin explained. "I'm sure that this was one of them."

Everyone agreed that they shouldn't pry into what happened at the moment just before two geysers of energy erupted in the forest. The first was the typical black sludge that grew the defeated monsters to giant size, but the second was the red and black energy from Adam's manticore form. The Rangers saw that King Hydra reformed into a giant, but the new manticore-like beast confused everyone but Blake and Yang. "Is that Adam," Jaune exclaimed as he freaked out at the immense size of the monster, which was nearly twice the height as King Hydra's new form.

"But we killed him! How did he get that big when he fell into the river," Blake questioned as she looked out at the forest and saw Adam's monster form a good distance down the river. She also noticed that he was roaring and growling like a feral beast instead of ranting about his revival or desire for attacking her. "Something's not right."

"Whoa, back up a second. You killed him," Nora asked. "He didn't explode like a regular monster and get destroyed?"

"We'll talk about it later," Ren stated. "We need to stop them now."

"We'll need Burning Gold for defeating Adam Taurus," Penny stated as she contacted her father and General Ironwood. "Father, General, please help us."

"It's okay, Penny. We can see what's happening and we're activating Burning Gold now," Pietro said as he got Maria's help with accessing the strongest Megazord. After the keys were used and the train systems in town stopped, the Supreme Dragonzord flew into the air and headed for the Rangers' location. "Yang, you're the Gold Ranger now, so you'll be piloting it," Pietro said to Yang.

"On it," Yang said as she took Blake with her into the Supreme Dragonzord. "Time to make sure he stays down," she told the Black Ranger as the Zord transformed into the Solar Dragoon Megazord.

"Let's go with the White Mage for the other guy," Ruby said as she, Jaune, Nora, and Ren prepared themselves for battle with their Atlas Zords and Carbuncle. Combining together, Team RNJR was prepared to fight King Hydra once again. "White Mage Megazord, Combat Ready!"

Adam started the battle as he swung his sword at the larger Megazord, only for it to block the attack and counter with some strong punches to his stomach and face. The manticore beast launched a storm of fireballs at the Dragoon, but Yang and Blake were able to block it by using the wings of the Megazord as a shield. "Sun Striker," Yang called out as the gauntlets of the Megazord began to shine brightly. Punching away at Adam, the manticore monster roared in pain as he was hit. Soon, he attempted to attack by flying above the Rangers and went for a sword strike. "I don't think so," Yang exclaimed as she blocked the attack and was able to kick him away.

At the same time, the White Mage Megazord was battling King Hydra and was having trouble with the monster's abilities allowing him to avoid their strikes like when he was normal-sized. "You musssst be quicker than that," the serpent monster hissed before striking the Megazord in the back.

"He's right," Ren stated. "He's too fast."

"How about we slow him down instead, Ruby," Jaune said.

The Red Ranger nodded and concentrated on her connection with Carbuncle and the White Mage Megazord. Her visor and the eyes of the Megazord began to shine a bright silver color before she turned to face King Hydra. "Argent Flash," Ruby called out. The flash of silver light was able to stun both King Hydra and Adam for some time, allowing the Rangers to beat the monsters down. "They're nearly done for, guys! Yang, let's finish this together," Ruby said.

"You got it, sis," Yang replied. "Time to end Adam for good, Blake." The Black Ranger took a deep breath and nodded as she was ready to defeat the ghost of her past once again. "Let's do this," Yang shouted as the Solar Dragoon Megazord got into the right position. "Supreme Shining Sunlight!"

"Silver Salvation!"

The two Megazords used their attacks at the same time with the White Mage hitting both monsters with the light copy of Carbuncle in order to keep them stunned. After both were dazed, the White Mage jumped into the air and spun around before striking the duplicate Carbuncle with a final kick. As they did, the laser blast from Yang's Megazord enveloped the orb of silver light and the two attacks combined into a shining blast of silver and gold. The combination hit both monsters and they let out cries of pain before they petrified, turning to ash in the wind when they stopped moving. Most of the Rangers cheered at their victory, but Yang and Blake were quiet for the moment and only made sure the other was okay after everything that happened.

"I'll never leave you," Blake said to Yang, talking about her promise during the battle with Adam.

After the battle was over and the Zords went back, the Rangers were exhausted after the day they had and wanted rest. Ruby knew Blake and Yang wanted the most after who they battled, so she was ready to snack away while reading comics and petting Zwei. However, Penny had different plans as she dragged Ruby out of her tent and to a field near the campground. "Aw, Penny! Today was brutal and we need rest. Not all of us can recharge as quickly as you," Ruby told her robotic friend while she still had a cookie in her hands.

"I want you to meet my new friends, Ruby," Penny happily told her.

"Out here? But the campsite is where everyone is lying around like a bunch of slugs," Ruby told Penny before she went silent again. But only for a brief moment. "ESCAPE!" Shouting that out, Ruby threw her cookie into Penny's face as a distraction and ran as fast as she could toward the campsite. However, she soon saw that she wasn't moving at all.

"I predicted a 93% probability you would attempt that," Penny stated as she held onto Ruby's hood, keeping her in the field while removing Ruby's cookie off her face.

"Okay, fine," Ruby said as she stopped running. "Blake and Yang need the most rest after today because of Adam being a monster and actually growing to massive size by his own power after he died if what Ozpin told us was true."

"Affirmative," Penny said as she agreed.

"So, where are these mysterious friends of yours? Azalea and the others are back at the campsite. I'm sure you would get along with her and Sunset," Ruby said as she questioned about Penny's new friends and thought Penny could get along with some of her non-Ranger classmates.

Penny simply smiled and gestured around the field as she answered Ruby. "They are all around us, Ruby!" Ruby was confused by what Penny meant as she only saw fireflies floating above and around them. "Let me show you," Penny said before her eyes began to glow and she let out a series of beeps in Morse Code. The fireflies responded back and surprised Ruby enough that her jaw dropped from the way the insects were communicating with Penny. "They're very happy to meet you," Penny told her best friend.

"Holy Cats! You speak firefly," Ruby said in excitement at how Penny was able to 'talk' with the bioluminescent insects.

"Of course! I've been learning how to communicate with animals as well as various human languages," Penny stated. "My cricket is pretty good, too," she added just before she rubbed one leg against the other and made cricket sounds.

Ruby and Penny enjoyed the rest of the night playing around and watching the fireflies. As they did, Yang and Blake soon arrived at the field because they noticed Ruby wasn't in her tent. "Yang. Blake," Ruby said as she noticed her sister and friend. "I thought you were resting after..."

"We did what we had to do. Otherwise, he would have gone after you next," Yang told her sister. "I couldn't let that happen to you, Blake, or any of the others."

"He's gone now. He'll never hurt anybody else," Blake said before giving a sigh of relief. "It's such a weight off my soul," she remarked with a relaxed smile.

Yang smiled as she saw Blake looking happier than she had been before, lying back to look at the fireflies with Ruby and Penny. "We're still not out of this yet," Yang said. "We've still got plenty of fights in the future."

Ruby had a determined look on her face as she looked at the starry sky and insects. "We'll be ready," she said in a serious voice before remembering something. "Hey, where's my cookie?"

As Ruby asked this, Blake and Yang watched as a firefly was carrying it away while flashing in Morse Code that Penny translated. "He said to bring macaroons next time," the chipper robot girl said while Ruby silently and comically mourned her cookie.

And with this chapter of RWBY Rangers done, we got one of my favorite Volume 6 moments done. Blake and Yang VS Adam! This was really fun to do, but I was a bit lazy with the emotional tension between Yang and Adam. Although, you have to admit that even if she wasn't traumatized like in canon, going against a monster version of the guy that seriously hurt you when you had superpowers would freak you out. Especially when he had a menacing appearance and stronger abilities. Luckily, they were able to handle him for good and we can get to other enemies now.

I wanted to add the ending scene with the RWBY Chibi Firefly skit because it made sense with the camping episode and it actually is meant to show I'm going to focus on Ruby and Penny for the next few chapters. You'll see what I mean by that when I can get to writing the chapters/episodes. I'll at least say that Penny's focus will be a two-parter with some very interesting moments given things that happened in canon. You'll just have to see how I use it in this fic.

I'm also glad to have finished this chapter by my 25th birthday. I'll try getting more RWBY Rangers and Sideline done when I can. Until then, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you when I post some more. WaterDragonMaverick, signing out!
