He walked through the corpses as he swung his sword around and ended the breath of another; he roared.
He roared with all the pain he carried with him and he roared with the power of Aslan.
I'm an angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun.
An angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun.
"Edmund!" There she was, struggling against the men that held her from him. With a dark smile, he moved slowly toward them. The men holding her shook in their boots as she stood tall and brave, waiting.
Get out your guns, battles begun,
are you a saint, or a sinner?
If loves a fight, then I shall die,
with my heart on a trigger.
"You should really let her go." He said with a grimace as one unsheathed his sword. He ducked and laughed at the inexperience of the overconfident man. He wildly swung his sword and Edmund continuously danced out of the way. "Really, this will end very badly if you don't retreat."
They say before you start a war,
you better know what you're fighting for.
"What can one man do?" The man crowed and Edmund could only gesture to the fallen bodies that he left in his quake.
Well baby, you are all that I adore,
if love is what you need,
a soldier I will be!
The man gave no change as he charged. Edmund parried and thrus; hitting bone. Another soldier ran in and one followed after.
I'm an angel with a shotgun,
Fighting 'til the war's won,
I don't care if heaven won't take me back.
Edmund ran toward the men, quicker than the Narnians have ever seen. If he was not their King, they would have retreated. He continuously parried, thrust and blocked. His enemies fell before they could cause much damage. His enemies' blade would nick and blood would rise, but Edmund did not care.
I'll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe.
Don't you know you're everything I have?
"Edmund, you can never lose sight of your duty because of this woman… You know that right?" Peter says as they wait for the carriages to arrive.
Laughing out a response, Edmund retorts, "No woman will ever make me lose sight."
And I wanna live, not just survive tonight.
The man turned around and faced Edmund a bit unsure than before. His eyes widened and Edmund didn't even have to look behind him. "Really darling? I'm here to rescue you and you rescued yourself?"
"I got my hands free of the bags." She gestured to her now free hands which had vapors rising from them. He sighed in defeat. "What? You think you should have all the fun?" She defended herself and walked away from the men that were left frozen.
The man they were ignoring before had retreated and the couple did not give chase.
"There's still quite a few." She murmured.
"They are mine and if you would like, we can argue when we get home." He responded with a smirk. She rolled her eyes in response.
"Men…" She scoffed. She settled on a bench and watched her husband attempt to be merciful.
