Flower gleam and glow
Astrid's fingers intertwine with Hiccup's begging him for a response. The recently stabbed twenty year old does nothing.
Let your power shine
"Hiccup! Please! You have to wake up! Please!" Astrid begs letting her head drop next to his. "Please wake up!"
Heal what has been hurt
Hiccup coughs once, and Astrid looks up hopefully, but his green eyes do not open. "You we're my new dream." He mutters voice so soft Astrid almost doesn't catch it.
Bring back what once was mine
"And you were mine." Astrid says choking back a sob.
Heal what has been heard.
Astrid's heart is aching, her vision blurring with tears. Hiccup goes limp in her arms and the Hofferson cant breathe, let alone bother to glance up at the battle going on around them.
She loved him.
Loved.
Hiccup is gone.
Change the fates design
Astrid grips his lax hand in her own, tears slipping onto him, and falling freely. She cant be strong anymore.
Make the clock reverse
Memories play through her head. She's fifteen and throwing her axe watching as Hiccup stands there awkwardly saddle in hand looking as if he just got caught murdering someone.
She's on Toothless's back for the first time, feeling freedom like none other.
They're in the cove and Astrid has just kissed him, her cheeks flushed slightly.
Her heart stopping as she she's Stoick kneeling in the ground, next to Toothless. Ash of the Red Death settling around them.
Sixteen and hugging Hiccup during the Snoggletog Toothless left. Promising silently everything will be okay.
Nineteen and has just collapsed in his arms from Odin's scourge.
Wrapping her arms around him after rescuing him from the dragon fights relived he's okay.
"Bring back what once was mine." She murmurs softly. Astrid's tears run dry and she brushes Hiccup's hair from his eyes. "What once was mine."
A/N: Well, that was sad...
