A/N: Random oneshot idea I got while watching my Pap and Great-Uncle cracking crabs. I couldn't resist.
It was possibly one of the longest running jokes Camp Half-Blood had. If you asked the Stoll brothers what had given them the idea, they would simply shrug and say, "Dad must have blessed us!" Percy was less thrilled.
It was a beautiful warm evening, a week or two after Percy hazard gotten back from the Labyrinth. He was sitting alone at his table as Tyson was busy forging weapons. The wind spirits had decided to serve talapia (a fish) and Connor and Travis had been staring blatantly at Percy all dinner. Percy was about to ask what they were staring at, when Travis stood up, pointed at Percy's plate, and yelled three words that would go down in demigod history.
"Percy's a cannibal!"
The entire pavilion looked at Percy, then looked at the Hermes table. Percy was spluttering confusedly. "W-what?!"
Connor stood up next to his brother. "Percy, a son of Poseidon, is eating fish! That makes him a cannibal!"
Annabeth stood up. "Just because Percy's dad is Poseidon doesn't make him a fish. Therefore, he is not a cannibal." She glanced at Percy, trying not to laugh. "There's nothing wrong with calling him one though."
Percy immediately started protesting, but he was known as a cannibal for years.
-I can't help myself-
A few years later, the seven members of the giant quests, Reyna, Nico, Will Solace, Grover, and Coach Hedge were meeting for lunch in New Rome. Unfortunately, just as they were being offered fish, the Stoll brothers walked by and yelled, "Percy's a cannibal!" Sending Annabeth, Nico, and Will into peals of laughter. The Romans and the newer Greeks looked confused, but Percy just yelled back, "I don't eat fish anymore!" And started grumbling under his breath.
Nico breathlessly turned to Percy. "Y-you mean you don't eat fish anymore?"
Percy scowled and slumped in his seat. "Well, I hadn't thought about it until Travis pointed it out, but I guess it is kinda cannibalism. Plus, you try eating something that talks to you." This sent Annabeth, Nico, and Conner over the edge, and the Romans finally demanded the story.
Needless to say, Percy was a very unhappy camper.
A/N: Heads up, I changed my name! It used to be DragonQueen3721, but now it's CloakedDragonWing3721! If you want my explanation, see City Musings.
