Scarlett scrambled back away from the body and transformed back, her body elongating and re positioning until she looked human again. it was obvious that she was hurt, covered in her own wounds. Chad hurried forward, taking off his jacket.

"Scarlett." He held the jacket out to her and she slowly slipped into it. He gently wrapped his arms around her and after a moment of hesitation, she held him tight. "Let's go. We need to make sure you're okay."

"I just wanna go home." She whispered into his ear. He nodded and lifted her up into his arms, carrying her bridal style towards the trees.

"Wait!" Rose called out. Chad paused and looked back. "You can't just leave."

"She can." Chad argued, "And she is." He turned and headed out, Audrey stopped to pick up Scarlett's clothes, then she and Jay followed. Chad carried Scarlett all the way to the car, only putting her down when he could do so in the back seat. Audrey came over and placed Scarlett's clothes in her lap.

"Go to the first aid tent, see if you can get some gauze and bandages." Chad looked to Audrey.

"How?"

"If anyone can charm them out of their stuff, it's you." Chad pointed out. Audrey nodded and ran off. "Jay, go get... see if you can find her something to eat that isn't just sugar." He requested. Jay hurried away to see if he could. Chad turned his attention to Scarlett.

"How do you know what to do?" She asked.

"I have no idea, I'm just guessing." He answered honestly. He took a look at her worst wound, a deep gash in her side. He took her shirt and pressed it to the wound, trying to stop the bleeding. Scarlett reached down, lifting his chin, he looked up as she leaned over, kissing him.

"I love you." She informed him after they broke the kiss.

"I love you too." He kissed her again, pulling the shirt away from the wound. Scarlett got out of the car to get her pants on and Audrey came running over with an armload of supplies. Jay returned soon after that with a burger. Scarlett eagerly took the burger, stripping off the bun and the veggies, simply devouring the patty.

"I'll... go get more of the patties." He wasn't sure if they'd let him do that but it sounded better than wasting more buns.

Chad carefully wrapped Scarlett's wounds, he wanted to be able to clean them properly but they didn't have what they needed for that. Jay came back with a plate full of hamburger patties and The other three sat back and watched as Scarlett scarfed down most of the patties. She finished up and closed her eyes.

"I'm ready to go home." She took her hoodie, sliding into it and zipping it up. she knew that later she might be bothered by the fact that she'd been sitting there topless for so long but in that moment, she couldn't be even a little bit bothered by it.

Jay took the keys and got into the front, Audrey got up front with him so that Chad and Scarlett could stay in the back together. Scarlett laid down with her head in Chad's lap and he slowly stroked her hair as Jay drove away from the fair and away from Countryside.

As they got further away from everything that had happened, Scarlett woke up a little more, got her energy back and she was feeling a bit better. They stopped off at a rest stop and snuck her into the bathroom so she could clean all the blood off of her and by the time they got back to Auradon, everyone was feeling a lot better, and Scarlett didn't look like she'd just been in a fight to the death. Jay pulled the car up in front of the building that Audrey and Scarlett lived in. They agreed to leave Scarlett's stuff inside until tomorrow.

"Home sweet home." Audrey looked up at the building, then to her best friend as the boys walked towards their own dorm buildings.

"It really is." Scarlett agreed.

A week later, everyone was getting back into school, break was over and classes were in full swing again, everyone was preparing for exams. The friends were all sitting together in the library, half studying, but mostly just talking and laughing. Ben was sitting cuddled up next to Mal, who was turned sideways with her feet propped into Evie's lap. Evie was reading over Doug's shoulder, mostly just distracting him. Jay and Audrey had actually wandered away from the group and were sitting together not even pretending to study. Carlos was tossing pieces of eraser at the pair while Jane tried to explain math to Chad. Scarlett was halfheartedly reading over her assignment, her foot slowly swinging back and forth. She glanced up to the windows, straightening.

"Scar?" Chad had been paying a lot of attention to her lately, still worried about her.

"It's nothing." She stood up and walked over. "I'm going to run to the bathroom." She kissed his cheek and walked towards the bathroom. She turned left instead of right, going out the front door of the library building.

"I know you're there." She called out into the dark. A moment later a wolf came out of the shadows, transforming back to human. "what do you what?" She asked.

"Scarlett, you know this isn't over." Rose informed her daughter. "You killed Ezekiel, you killed the Alpha, that makes you the Alpha."

"I don't care." Scarlett shook her head. "I don't want it, I'm not doing it. I am going to finish school and I am going to live the life I want."

"We need you."

"I need to worry about myself. Appoint someone else. I'm not going to do it."

"Scarlett, that's not how this works. There's a lot more going on than you know." Rose warned. "This is your destiny."

Scarlett quirked an eyebrow at her mother, reaching up, she unzipped her red hoodie. She tugged it off, balling it up.

"Destiny isn't real." She quoted, before tossing the hoodie at her mom, and going back inside to be with her friends.

A/N - Oh my gosh! You guys! It's finally done. I started this story three years ago. I started this story before the second movie came out... I think. And honestly, I still love it. Scarlett went from blonde to brunette, her grandmother went through a name change, So many things about this story changed since the start and I think it's better for that. I am going to be doing a second story in the series, I'm going to work on some of the stories I currently have going before I start the next one in this series but it will be coming. A huge thank you to everyone for reading, for putting up with me being the slowest writer in the history of fanfiction, any comments or reviews you have are greatly appreciated!
