Emma helped with the dinner dishes like she did every Thursday night at 108 Mifflin St. It was the least she could do after Regina prepared such a delicious meal. But this time, she wasn't doing it with the spirit that characterized her; she did her task quietly without looking at Regina who was watching her from the island. She didn't wanted to look at her, because to do so surely make her cry.
She remembered how a few minutes ago after everyone finished eating, Regina shared the news with Henry and her, that Robin has proposed and she had said yes. Poor Henry almost bursted with emotion. Though he didn't like Robin much, he wanted his mother to be happy.
Emma nearly choked on her wine, causing Regina to rush to her side with a glass of water to stop the cough. Just remembering that moment brought a tear to slowly fall down her cheek.
Regina noticed from the table how Emma tensed her body; slowly she stood and approached her.
"Emma, has something happened?"
"Nothing, it's nothing", replied the blonde without facing the look of Regina, "I'm a little tired; I think it's time to go to sleep".
Regina didn't say anything; she knew something was wrong of course. Knowing the blonde well, she didn't want to push, so she just accompanied her to the door.
"Good night Regina, thanks for the food, it was delicious", Emma said without facing her.
"You're welcome, Emma, I'm glad you liked it", Regina said with a smile. She loved cooking for Emma, because at least in one way, she could make her happy, "Until tomorrow then, see you at the meeting"
"Right... see you tomorrow", as she said this, she passed the garden of the house and headed for the street without looking back.
Emma hadn't arrived by car, so she walked back home. It gave her more time to think; Are you jealous, Emma? Regina is only your friend, nothing more. Yes, she's the mother of your child, but just that ... Yes, you'll give your life to make her happy, well, practically you gave it when you became Dark one, but it was the right thing to do ... It can't be!, you're in love with Regina!... and she's going to get married with the forest hobo!
Thinking only made matters worse, sadness washing over her. She had so much to think about, too many decisions to make. When she got home, Emma quickly said greeted her parents, went upstairs, jumped into bed and cried herself to sleep.
