A request from guestsurprise. Enjoy!
The Grant Mansion was having its first family campfire cookout. Ben Tennyson watched Salwa putting some wood in the fire.
"Nice night, huh?" said Ben, making small talk.
"Yeah, it is." Salwa said, smiling.
Ben curved a smile. "Hope you're not freaked out by the woods, huh?"
Salwa scoffed. "Oh, please. I'm not scared of anything."
But Ben wanted to prove her wrong. Everyone is afraid of something.
"What about...spiders?" said Ben.
"Nope."
"Snakes?"
"Nope."
When Salwa turned her back to get more firewood, Ben activated the Omnitrix and became Ghostfreak. He phased through the ground and popped up in front of Salwa.
"Woooooooo!" Ghostfreak did in his best ghostly voice.
Salwa didn't even flinch. "Really?"
"Aw, come on! I even scared myself a bit!" Ben said, touching the Omnitrix symbol and becoming human again.
"Give me a break, you can't scare me because I'm not afraid of anything!"
"Except her family being harmed." Rachel said as she walked by, carrying a plate of hot dogs.
Salwa face flickered from fearless to mortified.
"Losing your family?" Ben said. "That's what's your scared of?"
"NO! N-No, I'm not!" Salwa said, walking away very fast.
But Ben wasn't giving up. Now he was determined.
With another press of his Omnitrix, he became XLR8 and chased after her.
Reacting fast, Salwa tried to fly away, but XLR8 was too fast. He pinned her down to the ground.
"Get off of me!" Salwa said.
Ben could see a bit of tears forming in her eyes. "Salwa, being afraid is nothing to be ashamed of." he said softly.
Salwa looked away.
"I understand your fear. Having the people you love hurt before your eyes, I feel that fear every day.
The girl turned to him. "You, you do?"
Ben nodded. "Yes, being a hero, a lot of dangerous people always try to hurt me by hurting people close to me, and the very thought of that terrifies me. When you think about it, we're alike.
Salwa's eyes widened. Never did she think that she would have anything in common with anyone. Especially Ben Tennyson, a person she's always admired.
"But if you're strong and have strong people by your side, you realize you have nothing to feat at all." Ben smiled, becoming human again. "Now, how about we get a smile on that face?" He began tickling Salwa's stomach.
"AAH! AHAHAHAHAHAHA! BEHEHEHEHEHEN! HEHEHEHE! THAT TICKLES!" Salwa cried out, squirming to get away.
"Cootchie, cootchie, coo!" Ben said, tickling away.
Salwa managed to get off and tickle Ben back. Before you know it, a complete tickle fight broke out between them.
Rachel and the other aliens laughed seeing the two kids at play.
Finally, both were exhausted and decided to stop.
"Thanks for cheering me up, Ben." said Salwa.
"No problem," said Ben. "After all, we're all family here."
Salwa hugged Ben, she just wanted to hug him.
A bit surprised, but Ben smiled and hugged her back.
