They were finally there, on the surface, after many different timeliness, some of which had been quite destructive. All of them stood watching the sun from there spot on the mountain.

Then, there was just Frisk and Toriel. Both seeming a little nervous.

"So, Frisk, you cam from this world right?" she asked to which Frisk simply nodded, "so you must have a place to return to right? What will you do now?"

Frisk looked down at there feet before sighing, "I guess... I have to return home, my mom probably misses me..." she didn't sound so sure but looked up at Toriel, "I will miss you."

Toriel smiled sweetly, "I will miss you too, my child, we will be seeing each other around, okay?"

Frisk smiled and nodded before watching as Toriel left, looking out at the sun they knew they had to leave soon, but they really didn't want to. Looking down at the ground once more they took a deep breath, they couldn't do anything, they had to face the real world. They were about to leave when someone behind them spoke.

"You are acting unusual," it was Sans, hands in his pocket as usual.

"Should you not be keeping an eye on Pap?" they asked with a smile.

Sans smiled back, "Undyne will keep him under control... and Alphys can control Undyne, don't worry."

Frisk laughed, "I am sure they will be fine."

"Yeah, so, Toriel says you are heading back home? Asgard said to tell you that this weekend we meet near here for your first meeting as ambassador," he explained.

Frisk nodded.

"So... is this what you wanted? To break the barrier and save everyone?"

Frisk looked at the sun and nodded, "I am sorry Sans... I know I hurt you in some of the timelines, I know the timelines themselves hurt you the most," they shrugged, "but I am a bit stubborn when I set an objective," they admitted.

"Yeah, I noticed, well... if you don't reset again for no good reason, you can consider yourself forgiven," he said, "would you like me to walk you to your home?"

Frisk hesitated, before finally nodding, they were uneasy about returning, but perhaps having the pun loving skeleton by there side would make them feel better.

And so Frisk led the way down the mountain towards the familiar town, towards the familiar street with the familiar house, Sans all the way talked about how well he reckoned Pappyrus would do on the surface, how he hopes Grillby's would re-open on the surface and then some bad puns that always got Frisk giggling.

Sans stood silently behind Frisk who stared at his old home, breathing slowly, taking deep breaths, preparing themselves for the worst.

"Are you okay kiddo?"

Frisk nodded, "you should probably go... I would offer you a drink but... mom... she..."

"Don't worry kiddo," Sans grinned, "I gotta go check on Pap any ways, you take care, see you this weekend, don't forget!" he said waving goodbye and heading in the opposite direction to where he should be going.

Frisk took one finally deep breath before walking over to the door and ringing the doorbell. Sans, out of sight, watched as a frightened looking woman opened the door, letting out a loud scream before grabbing her child and pulling them inside.

Sans supposed the woman was Frisk's mother and that she was relieved to see her child back safe and sound. Sans memorized the address, promising to come back and check on the kid soon, "I know I didn't take the best care of you back in the underground," he admitted, "but after you have done for us... I can't afford not to care, so I guess I gotta make up for it all now."

The weekend arrived, Sans despite his promise to protect the human had not checked up on them since dropping them of originally. But he had insisting on coming to the meeting despite his assistance not really adding anything. Everyone was there, Asgard, Toriel, Undyne, Alphys, Papyrus and him... he smiled looking at the group looking towards the path, his smile faltered just a tiny bit as he finally spot Frisk.

They walked over slowly, eyes on the ground, they had a small bandage wrapped around their head just like when they first arrived. They also seemed to be limping slightly. They had a small rucksack on there back that seemed to be weighing them down.

Sans didn't even stand simply appeared behind Frisk, "hiya," he greeted making the kid jump, "need a hand? Cause I got two of them," he joked not waiting for a reply before grabbing the bag, it was admittedly heavier than it looked, it was probably Frisk's school books.

Frisk smiled up at him as a thank you.

Sans grabbed Frisk and suddenly they stood with everyone else, Asgore only grinned, "finally we are all present, the first meeting may begin!" he announced proudly.

Sans made sure to sit down next to Frisk, Papyrus on his other side. On Frisk's other side was Toriel and next to her was Asgore looking just a little nervous, then there was Undyne and Alphys was between Papyrus and Undyne, clearly only having eyes for Undyne though. And maybe a couple of glances towards the human.

Sans wondered if anyone else had noticed there struggle, Toriel and Papyrus definitely hadn't otherwise they would have surely made it known, Undyne probably would as well. Asgore didn't know the human too well and there by was less likely to notice, Alphys might have but was probably to busy paying attention to Undyne.

So only Sans had noticed, probably for the best. Frisk looked at Asgore waiting for him to explain exactly what the meeting was going to cover.

"Well... at this moment we haven't really gone far from our home... we still are not sure how the humans will react, some of the older ones who still believe in monsters seem okay with us... surprisingly," Asgore looked thoughtful, "the younger generations seem not to know of our existence."

"The war is taught about at school," Frisk spoke up, "but lots of people thing it was just myth."

"I see... and how is the war spoken of?" Undyne asks.

"Well.. we are taught that it was a misunderstanding and that those involved regretted the decision but were not brave enough to undo what had been done... of course, I had a quite nice teacher that year."

Asgore crossed his arms, "it sounds like this will be a bit of a hit or miss thing... some will accept us and other may not, but I guess we can't just sit and wait forever... Frisk, how do you suggest we begin out integration into the human society?"

Frisk sighed thinking profoundly, "I suppose perhaps by talking to someone important like the mayor of a town... that would be a good start, I can show you the town hall... maybe only a few monsters should come though, Asgore, Toriel and-"

"Me," Sand stood up.

Undyne looked about to complain but Sans wasn't taking no for an answer, he had already stood holding onto Frisk's rucksack, "after all, I can almost pass as a human myself, not to mention I can get us out of there quicker if the need comes."

Toriel who was happy to have a friend come along nodded in agreement, "then we should be on our way, lead the way my child," she smiled lovingly at Frisk who nodded.

Once at the town hall, there was a bit of fear and the mayor didn't seem keen on the meeting, but he still went thought with it, Toriel and Asgore being them didn't take long to calm him down, soon the mayor reached the agreement that he would speak to the government for them if they stayed put for the time being while they figured things out.

Frisk never actually spoke a word, just sat there and listened, Sans sat there, didn't bother listening, occasionally made a pun that had Toriel giggling.

After the meeting Asgore began to walk back towards the mountain followed by Toriel, once they reached the end of town Firsk stopped.

"What is wrong my child?" Toriel asked, "oh... I guess you have to go home now?"

Frisk nodded, reaching out for there rucksack Sans just shook his head, "I'll walk you back Kiddo, I'll catch up to you guys soon," he said walking of, remembering where the house was.

Frisk sighed but following, waving goodbye to the two monsters in charge.

"So..." Sans began, he needed to questions the kid, "how are things going for you? Back at school and what not?"

Frisk nodded and gave a thumbs up.

Sans smiled, "you seem to have hurt you head...?"

Frisk sighed and shrugged, "I fell."

"I see, well, be more careful kay? You can't load up here like you did back down there," he pointed out.

Frisk nodded.

Sans was silent for a moment before stopping, Frisk stopped as well looking at him, tilting his head.

"Frisk... you sure you just fell?"

Frisk looked away before nodding, not looking Sans in the eyes. The skeleton frowned for only a second before his constant grin returned, "if you say so," he spoke, but both him and Frisk knew he knew Frisk was not telling the full truth, "does your mom know where you went?"

Frisk shook his head.

"Wont she eventually become suspicious?"

Frisk smiled before shaking his head, it was a sad smile.

Sans couldn't hide his frown when he realized they stood in front of the childs home, "I guess this is it till next week... sure you can't hang out some time before? I'll buy you some fries at Grillby's," he offered hopefully.

Frisk shook there head, "sorry," they apologized taking there bag from Sans before pulling some keys out and heading to open the door, he hesitated looking back at Sans who waved.

Frisk frowned opening the door only slightly as he slipped inside waving, not letting Sans see the inside of the house. Sans grin once more vanished, something was not right.

He stood there for a moment hesitating before pulling up his hood and taking a short cut back to where his friends were waiting, arriving just as Asgore and Toriel did. They looked surprised but did not questions the skeleton.

A couple of days had past and Sans was sitting in Grillby's drinking some ketchup and eating some fries as he complained to his friend about how he didn't know what to do, "it's just that... I know something isn't quite right with them... but I don't know what and I know they wont tell me... not that I can blame them," he sighed throwing his head onto his arms.

Grillby frowned, he was not used to seeing Sans like this, he had seen Sans in many different moods, but Sans never cared enough about anything to be frustrated over it, "Sans, may I ask who they are?" he hesitated.

Sans frowned, "the human, Frisk... you remember I bought him here for food once?"

Gillby nodded, "the saviour, I imagined it was them..." he looked away, "Sans, the human is stronger than any of us monsters, I do believe they can protect themselves..."

Sans shook his head, "nah, they are strong, you are right... but they refuse to use that strength, they refuse to ask for help... the day someone refuses to accept there mercy no matter what... I don't think they will be able to fight."

Grillby nodded, "I see your point, then I guess they are lucky to have you to watch over them... I am sure they will tell you when the time is right?" Grillby frowned, he honestly had no understanding of the young human.

Sans shook his head, handing Grillby some gold, "I will probably be back this evening, but I need to check on something."

"I will save you some ketchup," Grillby promised cleaning the counter as Sans left.

Sans took a short cut right in front of the house he knew the human lived in. He hesitated before pulling a key chain out from his pocket. It was a small heart and had been on Frisk's bag, he had been sneaky grabbing it on purpose so as to have an excuse to come here. He walked up the path and rang the doorbell.

The humans had been informed of the monsters presence in the town so hopefully Frisk's mom wouldn't be too shocked to see a skeleton at her doorstep... then again, maybe he should have just let himself in with magic, although that would be quite rude.

The door opened, a skinny woman of around twenty something years opening the door, she looked tired and well, sickly, now that Sans got a close look at her. She was clearly Firsk's mom, matching brown hair and eyes.

"Hiya," he greeted, "you must be Frisk's mom."

The woman nodded, not seeming to see Sans clearly, not even noticing his clear lack of humanity, "are you one of his classmates?" she asked.

Sans laughed, "no, I just came to bring him something he dropped last time I saw him," he explained pulling out a keyring ready to hand it over to the woman.

Said woman simply opened the door wide, "their upstairs?" she said simply walking over to an old scrappy sofa and sitting down, watching and old tv.

Sans frowned up closed the door behind him walking up the stairs slowly, he would have wondered which door it was but there were no doors, instead there was three rooms none of which had a door, one was an adults room, a bathroom and at the very end what Sans knew must be Frisk's room.

He peeked inside and saw a room in desperate need of a paint job, a couple of broken toys were neatly piled up in a corner, a sleeping back in another corner and a window sill that Firsk was using as a desk to do his homework at. Said window was actually broken and lacked curtains. The house did not seem to be so bad from the outside, but it explained why Frisk didn't want him to see inside.

Frisk hadn't noticed the skeleton at the entrance to his room, too busy scribbling things into his notebook, "kiddo," Sans finally spoke making Frisk jump back, staring at Sans not seeming to quite believe he was there, finally he raised his hand slowly waving, still confused.

Sans pulled out the keyring from his pocket, "you um... it seems it got caught up with my hoodie when I was carrying your bag, thought I ought to return it to you," he shrugged, "sorry about that."

Frisk nodded heading over and taking it, "thanks," he said quickly attaching it once more to his bag, looking at it with a knowing expression, not seeing any possible way the scenario Sans had described could happen.

"Soooo..." Sans began, "nice place you got here," he spoke trying not to sound too sarcastic.

Frisk shrugged, looking a bit awkward, "I like it..." he finally said.

"Oh um sure kiddo... if you say so..." he looked away, "you know, Frisk, you are the saviour of monster kind," he pointed out, remembering how Grillby had referred to the human, "you don't have to live like this... Toriel would happily take you in... or even come live with us, Papyrus would love it... or anywhere really... I just don't think..."

"No!" Frisk shouted, "I don't want to-"

"Frisk!" it was the woman from before, they could hear steps approaching.

"Y-You have to leave," Frisk said.

Sans hesitated before his eyes glowed and he vanished, not far, just the room nearby from where which he could watch without being seen.

"Frisk," the woman entered the room, "why were you shouting?" she shouted.

Frisk looked down at their feet, "s-sorry... I-I just... I had a nap... and... nightmare..." they whispered.

The woman crossed her arms, "about what, darling?" there was so much sarcasm in her voice.

Frisk took a step back, "about how I shouldn't have run away," Frisk replied.

Sans was not more interested, he knew Frisk had not been where he should have been, but not that he had ended up there by running away specifically, or was that just what he told his mom?

"Good, and I hope you have many more nightmares about it... you should have never of done that!" she scolded.

Frisk nodded, whipping tears from there eyes, "I know... I'm really sorry, I wont ever do it again."

The woman nodded, "good, now get on with your chores," she ordered heading back down stairs. Frisk ran after her.

"Mom, wait!" they shouted and what happened next left Sans shocked.

Frisk was on the floor, one hand on there cheek which has gone red, "mom..."

"What is it, Frisk?" she asked crossing her arms, not caring that she had just HIT her CHILD.

Sans took a deep breath to hold back from killing the woman at that very moment, his eye was glowing threatening blue, thankfully neither of them noticed him.

"You haven't taken your medicine," they said sternly standing up tall, arms crossed.

The woman frowned, "so what?"

"Mom, this is important, you promised me you would take it from now on!" Frisk shouted.

And Sans was surprised, the child barely shouted and if he did it would never be a while sentence. The woman on the other hand just rolled her eyes, "Frisk, I don't need it."

"You do, mom, it is important," they begged, "please..." he looked up at her, "and I will go find some more flowers for outside."

Finally the woman gave in, "fine, I am going to take it now," she said, wondering of towards the bathroom in which Sans was currently hiding, he quickly transported into the adults room, closer to Frisk than he would like but Frisk was watching there mom, making sure they took some pills before heading downstairs to do what Sans imagined was there chores.

Sans had seen enough, he was gone in a flash, landing in his new room on the bed, he sighed, "what are you doing to yourself kiddo?" he asked, closing his eyes.

A couple of days later it was the next meeting and Frisk left their bag at their house this time, they was surprised to see Sand waiting for them when they exited the house, he waved.

"Hey Kiddo, though I'd walk you over," he was grinning, like always.

Frisk smiled walking over and they began to walk.

"Sorry about last time, I did not meant to get you in trouble," he apologized.

Frisk waved it of with his hand.

Sans waited for a moment before stopping, his eyes were black, "I saw what she did to you."

Frisk's eyes widened, "don't tell anybody please!" they said grabbing onto Sans as his eyes returned to normal.

Sans crossed his arms, "I haven't done so yet... but Frisk..."

"It's not her fault," Frisk defended there mom, "she doesn't... she's ill, ever since dad died... she had been like this, but she loves me... I need to protect her because if I don't, nobody else will."

Sand let his grin vanish and he knelt down, giving the kid the most serious expression he had probably ever given anyone, "you can't stay with her," he said grabbing Frisk's hand so they wouldn't run of, "I don't care, if she knows what she is doing or not... YOU, Frisk, cannot stay with her."

Frisk shook their head, "I must."

"You will not," his grip tightened, "I won't let you, and as soon as I tell the others, neither will they... honestly, I don't want the other to know, Undyne would be furious, Toriel hear broken, Papyrus in tears and although I do not know Alphys or Asgore as well they probably wouldn't be happy... but if you refuse to cooperate, I will."

Frisk was breathing quickly, he tried to pull away from Sans but the skeleton didn't allow it, "Sans... please."

"We'll find help for you mom... but right now I am more worried about you, Frisk... that house is no place for ANY child... less one as innocent as yourself," Sans said finally letting Frisk go.

Frisk took a few steps back but didn't run, he knew that although Sans would not run after him, he wouldn't have any trouble keeping up. Finally the kid nodded, "you promise my mom will be okay without me? That someone will take care of her?"

Sans nodded, "I promise, and I will personally see to it."

"You hate making promises," Frisk smiled.

Sans smiled back his usual grin returning, "well, you really didn't leave me with any option now did you? Now come on, the others will be worried about us."

Frisk nodded taking Sans hand as he transported them straight to the location.

Frisk was a bit absent during this meeting, he caught the basics but was otherwise distracted by the thoughts of what now?

After the meeting Frisk looked at Sans, who spoke up, "Toriel... I need a word with you," he said.

Toriel smiled, "what is it Sans?"

Sand stood up, "alone please... you can come Frist," he said and they nodded and followed.

Once it was just Tori, Sand and Frisk the wise leader lost her smile, "is it serious?"

"Yeah, kinda," Sand looked at Frisk trying to find the right way to say it, "it's about Frisk's mom, she is... kinda ill, I want Frisk to stay with me for a while, but they want to take care of there mom, I just don't think it is the best idea, I feel Frisk needs to rest after the whole saving all monsters stuff," he shrugged.

Toriel nodded, "I understand, so you want to know what to do about her mom?"

Sans nodded.

"Well... I could take care of her?" she suggested, "I am very good at taking care of people who are ill, my healing is top notch after all," she said with a smile.

Frisk smiled but shook their head, "she isn't that kinda ill..."

"Oh," Toriel understood, "don't worry Frisk, I am good with hat kind of ill too, although I can't heal it quite the same way," she giggled.

Frisk smiled, knowing Toriel would take much better care of their mom than even they could.

"Then it is settled," Sans declared, "Frisk you go back with Pap, I will show Toriel where you mom is, you don't need anything from your house do you?"

"My school bag," they said.

"I'll get it while there then, no worried," Sand reassured.

That night Frisk was asleep in Sans bed, Sand was sleeping on the couch and Papyrus was in his room. At around three in the morning Frisk was woken up by the sound of sirens followed by banging on the door.

Frisk hesitated only a second before running down the stairs, Sans stood in front of the open door, "how can I help you officer?" he asked.

"You are all under arrest," the man said.

"For what if I may ask?" Sans asked.

Frisk ran over, Papyrus behind him.

"Arrest?" Papyrus frowned.

"Murder," the police officer said.

"Of whom?" Papyrus crossed his arms, "none of us would do that."

"Eight human children."

Papyrus went pail, "what?"

"The first was called Chara, the last was called Frisk, am I mistaken?"

"Very," Frisk spoke approaching, "Chara fell down a long time ago, she died but she was not killed, they could not give her what she needed to survive, the barrier made sure of that. They tried to take her body to the surface for a proper burial but... some people didn't appreciate it."

The officer didn't seem impressed by Frisk speaking up.

"As for Frisk, well that is me, and I am very much alive," they crossed there arms, "you cannot accuse monsters of simply being the killers of your missing children, it is not their fault that children fall down there on occasions. And even if all eight children were murdered, you cannot blame that on every monsters just like that."

"Child... listen... you are not the Frisk we are looking for."

"What?" Frisk crossed their arms, "I am the last human child to visit the underground and the eight soul to fall down there..."

"Your... the mom of the child, talked to us, she says that you had returned... but you were not him, you are a monster."

"You're wrong, I AM Frisk... I am human."

The man did something that scared Frisk, he pulled out a gun and pointed it straight at the child, suddenly their soul appeared in front of them to protect them. Sans stood in front of them within seconds but the officer was already putting the gun away.

"What was that thing that appeared? Humans don't have magic, proof of what you are."

"What? That wasn't magic! It was my sould... we all have one... some merely do not know how to use it," Frisk explained, "we have never needed too after all, but it is not a bad thing, it is not an inhuman thing."

"Tell it to the judge," the man said, reaching out he grabbed Sand who pulled away, looking at Frisk.

Frisk looked frightened, "what, you are simply arresting all monsters?"

"For the time being, yes, we will make a decision later on, but first we must protect civilians."

Frisk looked at his hands, "okay... as long as they will hear us out if we cooperate?"

Sans looked hesitant but he stood up straight shrugging.

The officer nodded, leading the three into a police car. Once in, Frisk showed the two skeleton how to use a seatbelt. It was only a short drive before they were in a cell. Looking around there were monsters everywhere, some looked calm, others looked scared, there was a bit of everything.

"I don't like this..." Papyrus said.

Frisk looked over to the cell in front, Alphys looked back, tears in her eyes, Mettaton attempting to comfort her.

"Where is Undyne?" Papyrus asked.

Alphys looked down, "she was very angry, she put up a fight... they have locked up somewhere different, isolation they called it..."

"She will be fine," Frisk comforted, "that is just a cell where you do not have to see others.. they probably thought she was dangerous... she is a little bit after all," Frisk joked.

Alphys laughed, "yeah... I know she is strong."

Frisk yawned, Sans picked them up placing them on the bed, "go to sleep kiddo... we will wake you if anything happens... it is going to be a long night."

Frisk frowned, closing their eyes they fell asleep.

The next morning they were the first to awaken, looking around they spotted Sand fast asleep in a corner cuddled up to Papyrus. Moving towards the bars they spot Alphys asleep on the bed, most monsters were sleeping, Mettaton smiled, she didn't need to sleep and was clearly hesitant about switching of even if it would save battery.

Frisk pointed at his chest, Mettaton looked down at her own chest, seeing her battery, she nodded, finally taking a rest, knowing Frisk would be sure to wake her if needed.

Frisk sat legs folded, after a couple of hours some guard showed up with breakfast for everyone. Frisk looked up catching eye contact with one of them. Eyes expressionless.

The guard flinched before slipping the tray of food though a small whole at the bottom of the bars, Frisk did not move to grab it, just continued with their stare, judging the people who locked them and their friend away without a reason.

Soon the officers were gone and Frisk stood, knocking on the cell wall, it wasn't too loud, but nobody was sleeping that soundly, soon everyone was awake and eating.

Papyrus complained about the lack of spaghetti for breakfast. Sans didn't care too much grabbing his share he looked at Frisk, "you need to eat Kiddo."

Frisk shook their head.

"That wasn't a suggestion," Sans said, eyes black as he handed them a piece of toast.

Frisk looked straight at Sans, not scared, but they were tired and in no mood to argue, so they reached up and grabbed the toast, slowly nibbling on it. Sans sat next to Frisk making sure they ate the whole thing.

"You are stubborn kiddo," Sans pointed out, "I guess it has done us all some good in the past but..."

"Not so sure about that... depends on how stupid the humans 'judging' us, is."

Sans could not help but laugh, "I guess I deserve to know the feeling, being judge by a total idiot."

Frisk rolled their eyes before hugging Sans, "I am a bit scared..."

"I know... everyone is, but it will be okay," he whispered, his grin never faltering.

"I hope so."

A couple of hours later the guard came back, they opened the cell, "you, human look alike, we are taking you to be questioned."

Sans stood in front of Frisk, "the human goes nowhere without me," Sans spoke harshly, about to use magic before Frisk pushed him out the way.

They looked at him and shook their head before going over to the guard who led them away, locking the cell behind them.

Sans eyes glowed blue and he looked extremely dangerous, it was scary because he could kill them all if he truly wanted to, but he let Frisk be in charge. And instead just sat there with Papyrus who still wasn't sure what to make of the situation.

Frisk was sat down in an uncomfortable chair in front of a desk. A person sat on the other side a laptop on the table, "Frisk?"

Frisk nodded.

"That is who you claim you are?"

"Who I am."

The person snickered, "sure thing, so what kind of monster are you?"

"Human, the worse kind at times."

"Don't act smart, everything you say will be held against you after all, and clear hatred towards humans is a bad start."

Frisk glared, "I haven't done anything, nor have any of the people you lock away in those cells, they should be treated like this! It's wrong..."

"I am afraid you are not the judge of that," they said, typing away on the computer, "how old are you?"

"Ten."

"Gender?"

Frisk didn't reply.

"Family?"

"My mom."

"Human?"

"Of course."

They snickered, "tell me, you say no humans were killed by the monsters?"

"I said Chara and I were not," Frisk corrected.

"So there have been humans killed by the monsters."

Frisk bit their lip, "I do not know for sure... probably, but they are a whole society down there, if one human who fell down really was killed by a random monster who maybe had a grudge against the people who forced them underground, is that really an excuse to lock them all away?"

"So do monsters generally hold grudged against humans?"

"Sometimes, but they do not tend to act on said grudge, I made it through safe, and it's not like humans don't do the same."

"Child, you will stop yourself from answering more than the question."

Frisk glared.

"Now, tell me, what powers do each monster have?"

"They do not all have powers..." Frisk lied.

"I can imagine, now tell me."

"Well... Undyne the fish lady, she fights with a spear and is a good swimmer... Alphys, the yellow scientist, I don't think she had powers, Tori uses fire and love, Asgard fights with a weapon like Undyne... the tall skeleton can control bones and the small one's eyes glows."

"The robot?"

"Mettaton? Her power is being fabulous," Frisk laughed before they were glared at.

"The other smaller monsters?"

"All sorts, mostly predictable though, Syren can sing you to sleep, Woshua will clean you... there really is little mystery."

"Are there any monsters that you would say do consider to be in here locked away?"

"Maybe Flowey before Asriel was awoken but he ain't with us."

"Where is he?"

"We left him behind, he couldn't come, he is GROUNDED," they then burst into laughter.

The person questioning just sighed, "take them back to there cell, they are little help..."

Soon Frisk was back in the cell with Papyrus and Sans.

"How'd it go kid?"

"Fine, I may have made them a bit angry though."

"How come human?" Papyrus asked.

Frisk just laughed, "I was a bit PUNNY."

Papyrus face palmed while Sans laughed.

"You are a bad influence to them Sans."

"Do not worry Papyrus, I won't make it a habit, I just really felt like annoying them a bit."

The days passed and there was no change. Except, monsters were losing hope.

"This is bad," Frisk said to Sans who nodded in agreement.

"Can I break us all out now?"

Frisk glared and shook their head, "it would only get us into more trouble in the long run if we desire to integrate into human society."

"Why don't they integrate into our society?" Sans crossed his arms.

"Sans..." you frowned, "although I do not believe this should be a valid reason, I could kill you all."

Sans, usual grin didn't even falter but his eyes widened, "y-yeah, good point."

"Sorry... I hate that fact, why are humans so powerful, Sans?"

Sans tilted his head, "we have explained this before kiddo, determination, remember?"

"Yeah but... why don't monsters have it?"

"Well... I dunno, it has always just been that way..."

"It isn't fair."

"Hey, life ain't fair."

Then an officer approached there cell, "Frisk."

"Yeah?"

"Come with me please," he opened the cell door.

Frisk frowned, "may I ask what for?"

"We are going to test if you truly are a human, if this is the case we are more likely to believe what you say."

Frisk nodded and left the cell.

Sans looked scared, "kid, Frisk, if you feel threatened, call, okay..."

Frisk smiled reassuringly, following the guard.

An hour or so went by, Sans was playing a game of imaginary chess with Papyrus who despite not knowing the first rule to chess had just won for the seventh time in a row.

"The Great and Powerful Papyrus had won once again! You do not a stand chance brother, you should just give in to my greatness!"

Sans chuckled, "I gave in ages ago Paps, I just really wanted to see your greatness once more."

Papyrus's eyes lit up, "if that is the case, we must play again! I would not want you to go with-"

Suddenly a scream could be heard, echoing of the walls.

"Frisk!" Sans ran to the bars seeing the guard were just as shocked as he was.

Then a man ran in holding a small bundle in his arms, Sans would recognize Frisk anywere.

"Call an ambulance," the man said, "it is an emergency."

Sans's eye glowed blue, "what did you do to them?!" he shouted louder than he thought possible.

The man turned to see Sans, fear filled his being, "there going to be fine, t-they reacted badly to something and... it was an accident, they will be sent to a hospital!"

Sans grabbed the bars and looked ready to break them, "if anything happens to them-!"

He calmed down when Papyrus grabbed hold of him pulling him into a hug, although he did not take his eyes of the guard holding Frisk, sirens were heard, soon a bed was pulled in and Frist was taken away on it. Sans got a glance at Frisk's face, he saw there eyes closed tightly in pain, a fast breathing and tears running down there cheek.

Less than a couple of hours later all the monsters were released, "Frisk... he was a human and thereby we suppose he told the truth... we apologize for the inconveni-" Sans grabbed the guard by the neck.

"Where are they?" he demanded.

"The child? He is in a hospital just a few streets away from here-" before he could even finish Sans was gone, Papyrus caught the guard before he fell to the floor.

"Sorry about that..." he said, "my brother is veeeeery worried about the human, they are very good friends," he explained.

The guard looked up at Papyrus with fear, "t-thanks... i-t's f-fine..."

Another guard walked over, "and rightly so, locked up for no reason, having your child injured and not even knowing why or how... god if I were in his position heads would be rolling."

Papyrus laughs, "that is what Sans said last time someone tried to hurt the human... he is maybe a bit too protective now that I think about it, Frisk hates it when he does things like this, they are a pacifist you see."

"Yeah, I noticed, good on him, hopefully people will stop being such idiots and accept that not everything is a declaration of war."

Sans was two streets away, he looked around spotting the hospital and then he was inside it at the desk, "Frisk," he said to the secretary who looked up with a jump.

"How did you-" she shook her head, "second floor, room five," she replied, she had been told to be expecting some... unusual guests for this particular patient.

Sans was gone standing in front of the door, he had chosen not to go straight in in case he scared the kid, he knocked on the door listening for a reply.

"Hello?"

Sans sighed with relief opening the door and entering. Flisk smiled and sat up, he was wearing a hospital gown and was in a hospital bed.

"What happened? What did they to you?" he asked rushing to grab Frisk's hand, his eyes glowed, "I swear they will have a bad time for this-"

"Sans," Frisk stopped him in his tracks, "nothing," they replied, "they did nothing."

"What?"

Frisk blushed and leaned against pillow, they pulled their arm out from under the blanket, it was bandaged up, "I-I k-kinda broke my arm," they explained.

"How?" Sans frowned.

"Well... all they were doing was a quick blood test but... I don't like needles so I kinda panicked and fell of the table."

Sand sighed with relief before grinning, "so you rattled your bones a bit there?"

Frisk burst into laughter.

"Hey, that wasn't that good, in fact is was kinda bare bone," Frisk continued to laugh, "okay, the second was a little humerus, though."

Frisk couldn't stop laughing, that was when Papyrus entered, "brother, what have you done to the human?"

"Oh, nothing much I was just being a little punny."

Papyrus turned, "no, I am not staying here any longer."

"Are come on Pap, that one was a real rib tickler!"

Papyrus sighed, "Saaaaans..."

"Okay, okay, I'll stop, besides if I don't stop, I think the human may hurt themselves from so much laughing, in fact," his grin widened, "I can feel it in my bones!"

Frisk grabbed their pillow holding it against their head to stop themselves from laughing so loudly. Papyrus just sighed sitting down next to Frisk's bed, "sooooo, what happened?" he asked and then looked to Sand, "and please no puns."

Sans laughed and explained, only sneaking a couple of puns into the explanation.

"So Pap, how are the other monsters doing?"

"Oh yes, well, Toriel is waiting downstairs, she wants to see her child but only one of us could come and she let me come first, the rest have returned to there homes for rest..."

"I see... I guess I ought to go downstairs and let Tori come up then," he asked.

Papyrus hesitated before shaking his head, "you stay here, I will go, I only needed to be sure they were okay, I think you need to be here more than I do, although," he looked at Frisk, "if he tells you one more pun I am throwing him out the window."

Frisk giggled and gave a thumbs up.

It wasn't long after Papyrus had left that Toriel came up, "you okay my child?"

Frisk gave a thumbs up as she sat on the other side of the bed.

"I am sorry," she said, "your mom called the police... she doesn't like us monsters," she said with a sad expression, "she says we corrupted you."

Frisk shook their head, "she is not well..."

Toriel nodded, "she in a special hospital now, the officers say you can stay with us though."

Frisk smiled and nodded, grabbing Sans hand.

"You would prefer to stay with the skeleton brothers?" she asks.

Sans chuckled, "you sure you don't wanna go with Tori? She is more of a mother figure than I am," he said but seeing Frisk's expression just chucked some more, "but I guess life with me and Pap will be way more fun, hu?"

Tori sighed, "just be sure not too do anything dangerous, and that they eat a healthy varied diet, oh and don't forget to do your homework! Talking of which you probably have some catching up to do."

Frisk threw their face into their pillow making both monsters laugh.

Soon the monsters were fully integrated, although they all seemed to live rather close by.

Alphys and Undyne lives together above Alphy's new lab, he specialized on robotics and made a small fortune from it.

Toriel started a school the garden of which were taken care of by Asgore, who never did convince Toriel to forgive him completely, but they at least could be in the same room together for a limited time.

A lot of monsters had got some new cool jobs, Muffet had opened up a bakery which she though for due to healthy and safety issued with all the spiders but eventually was allowed so long as she put a sign outside explaining that spiders helped in the making of the bakes goods, Grillby had opened his new bar although mainly only monsters went their.

Papyrus, Sand and Frisk lived in a house extremely similar to their old one in Snowdin except for a couple of extra rooms. Papyrus worked as a kids animator, not that they needed the money, Mettaton was a world famous pop start and was constantly sending Frisk and Alphys money. She would send money at least ten times a month with a letter explaining it was for their birthday. Even though Frisk told her when their birthday was she just pretended to have forgotten.

Frisk had a couple of bullying troubles at school at the beginning that Sans was quick to fix. Papyrus struggled but eventually got a driving license. And Sans learnt to cook for the human's sake.

All was good. There was peace once more and Frisk finally had a true family and home.
