Hey guys, so this is a story idea I had and I decided to give it a try. Hopefully you guys like it! It will be an AU starting from 4x2 and on. Lots of Braille! Connor x Jude, Mariana and Matt!

Disclaimer: I do not own The Fosters or any of the characters.

Some of the dialogue from this chapter was taken from the show.

Callie walked out of Jude's room and slowly made her way to hers. She was tired; her mind was going a million miles a minute, the events of the previous day finally catching up to her. She wanted to lie down; she needed to sometime to think. Her mind went to Brandon, and just how close she had come to losing him the day before. The substitute teacher had a gun, what would have happened if he hit Brandon? She took a deep breath and shook her head, Brandon was fine, she needed to stop worrying about him. Or thinking about him for that matter.

It was only when she was a few steps away from her room that she realized something was terribly wrong. Someone was sobbing in Mariana's room, Nick. Callie felt her own eyes fill with tears, why was he sobbing? Did he hurt Mariana? She felt her heart drop, her blood running cold at the thought that her sister was hurt, but her question was quickly answered when Mariana's voice joined his sobs. Her voice was low and soothing, but Callie could tell that Mariana was scared to death.

"It's not too late. Okay? I promise. We can still be together. Please just don't hurt yourself." She heard Mariana say. Carefully and as quietly as she could she tried to look inside the room. She silently thanked the heavens for mirrors, she was able to see Mariana trough the reflection. She was only able to see her back, but it was enough to know that her sister was physically okay. Nick was standing in front of her, the gun pointed at his head, his eyes red and puffy. The creaking of the stairs told her someone was coming, and she quietly but quickly made her way out of the bathroom, almost bumping into Mat.

"Mat don't go in there. Go get Stef. Go get Stef!" she pleaded in a hushed whisper, grabbing his arm and pushing him way from the room. Callie watched him go down the stairs. Relief flooded through her, Stef was coming. It would be over soon. Everything was going to be alright. She ran inside again, quietly listening to the conversation.

"Well I burned the down the warehouse, so they're gonna send me to jail anyway"

"No, your dad's not going to let that happen."

"He doesn't care about me!" he was getting angry, he started to move the gun away from his head ad was waving it. Callie needed to get out of there, Stef was already on her way and there wasn't enough space in the bathroom for the both of them. She started to move, but in her distraction she knocked down a bottle. She watched it fall in slow motion, and it felt like it took hours for the bottle to fall when in reality it had only been a second. The bottle fell with a loud thud and she closed her eyes, more tears running down her cheeks. She hoped that he hadn't heard, but she knew better.

"What was that?" he heard him ask in panic. She was frozen in her spot, her own fear not letting her move. Where was Stef? Mat had gone downstairs; she should be here by now. She heard Mariana trying to make and excuse, but was failing miserably. She heard his footsteps getting closer to the bathroom and Mariana's voice pleading with him to let it go. She must have grabbed his arm, because Nick was asking her to let go. Callie's heart was beating faster by the second. She turned around, if he was going to drag her into the room or kill her she wanted to look him in the eyes.

"I said LET GO Mariana" Nick's yell was followed by a yelp from Mariana and the squeaky sound of bedsprings. He ran in the bathroom, his eyes no longer held the hurt look from before. They were dark; his features had turned into a scowl. Callie was shaking; a mixture of rage and fear, her breathing was becoming more erratic. She hardly registered as Nick walked past her and closed the bathroom door, locking it behind him as he grabbed her arm and dragged her to the room. He threw her on the bed, where she joined a shaking Mariana. She was sitting in a fetal position, her arms wrapped around her knees as she cried softly. Callie quickly wrapped her arms around her sister, shooting daggers at Nicks head with her eyes. He was closing all the doors in the room and locking them, making sure no one could get in without him noticing.

"Now, tell me. Did you tell anyone I was here?" he asked looking straight at Callie. She remained silent as she stared into his eyes. "ANSWER ME" he pointed the gun at her head and Mariana cried harder.

"No, I didn't" she lied. "I tried to leave to tell someone, but I knocked down the bottle." she tried to make her voice as steady as possible, but even then it was shaky. She knew that she'd be lying to herself if she said she wasn't afraid. He looked at her, studying her face, trying to decide if he wanted to believe her or not. His face hardened and jerked his hand slightly, the gun still aiming at her.

"I don't believe you! Who did you tell, huh? Come on tell me, or Mariana pays the price." He said, aiming the gun straight at Mariana.

"Nick, she's not lying. Please believe her; you don't want to do this. You don't want to hurt me. You don't want to hurt us" Mariana pleaded, her voice shaking with fear.

"And how would you know what I want?" his voice was so full of venom that it made both girls wince. This was worse than anything she had ever experienced, and she could only hope for it to end soon without anyone getting hurt. Still she had a sinking feeling at the pit of her stomach from the moment she dropped the bottle, the feeling that something bad was about to happen.

"Nick, please..." Mariana tried but he cut her off.

"Stop it. STOP IT. Stop pretending to care, you don't care about me. You only care about Mat and your stupid family. As a matter of fact, why don't we separate you and your sis, huh? After all, she has her own bed" Callie hugged Mariana tighter, there was no way in hell that she would let her go and she was determined to show that. "Didn't you hear me? I said go to your bed!" but Callie didn't move. He charged at them and Mariana yelled as Nick ripped Callie away from her.

"No! Callie! Nick please!"

"SHUT UP! I think I need to remind you that I'm the one with the gun, which means that YOU will do as I say" just then the door knob rattled loudly and it was followed by Stef's commanding voice.

"Nick you have five seconds to drop the gun before I walk in. Please Nick don't make me do something I don't want to" he only scoffed and started to wave the gun around, altering between pointing it at Callie or Mariana.

"Oh yeah? You walk in here and I'll shoot. The question is who will it be?" his voice sounded convincing, but his eyes told another story. He was scared, just like Callie and Mariana were. He had gone too far and they all knew it, there was no coming back from this. Mariana was till curled up in her bed, tears running down her cheeks as she choked back on her sobs, her body shaking. Callie was standing by her bed, crying silently as she tried to send Mariana reassuring looks. The lock on the door turned and Stef walked in, her own gun in her hands as she pointed it at Nick. Callie answered Stef's silent question with a nod, Yes, we're okay. But the feeling at the pit of her stomach wasn't going away; as a matter of fact it got worse.

Suddenly a lot of things happened at once. Nick yelled moving his gun back and forth from Mariana and Callie. Stef charged at Nick, her gun pointed at his leg as she pulled the trigger. Mariana screamed as Nick dropped to the floor, yelling in pain. He dropped the gun and for the second time in Callie's life, she saw everything happening in slow motion. Nick's hands landed on his injured leg as he screamed in pain. The gun hit the ground, and a long bang echoed across the room for a second time as the gun went off. Callie ducked, covering her body with her arms as the window behind her shattered. She saw Stef dragging a cuffed Nick out of the room, handing him to another police officer. When had they gotten here? She saw the rest of the family running into the room, Jude immediately at her side. He hugged her and Callie wiped the tears from his eyes.

"Hey budy, I'm okay. I'm okay, I promise." She reassured him. He helped her stand and then went to Mariana. She was being engulfed in a hug from the moms and Jesus and Callie couldn't help but feel the déjà vu from the scene in front of her. Jude had joined them now, though there was still a spot left by Mariana's side. She looked at Mat who was standing by the now unlocked bathroom door. He shook his head, understanding that this was a family moment and Callie thanked him. He would get his chance to hug Mariana as soon as the family was done. She made her way to her sister's bed but stopped midway, a small pain was forming in the side of her stomach and Callie moved her hands to inspect it. Her hands trembled as she touched the maroon fabric of her sweater only to find it wet with a sticky substance. The pain was intensifying by the second and she clutched her side accidently letting out a small groan of pain. Stef raised her eyes to look at her and her eyes widened, as her face filled with worry once again. Callie moved her trembling hands from her side and examined them, her eyes filling with tears as she realized they were tainted in blood. Her blood.

"Callie, Sweetheart, is everything okay?" Stef asked but her voice sounded far away. Callie lifted her eyes from her hands to her family. Stef was now standing by the foot of Mariana's bed, walking closer to Callie. Lena and Mariana were holding onto each other tightly, their eyes full of tears. They both had such an immense amount of hurt in their eyes. The kind of hurt that she saw when Stef was in the hospital before the wedding. When Brandon got beat up. The day they lost Frankie. She couldn't bear to look at them and see all the hurt in their eyes. Especially because she knew it was because of her. She wasn't worth all that pain. Her eyes shifted to Jude. It seemed like Jesus was holding him in place as he struggled against him. His face was full of panic. He was yelling but Callie couldn't hear him. It was her fault he was in pain. She lied to him, she promised him she was okay and now she was standing in front of him, her own blood in her hands. Then it was Jesus, they weren't very close but the way he was looking at her formed a lump in her throat. Even Mat had a few tears running down his face as he typed something on his phone. Maybe he was sending Brandon a text. Brandon. She wished he was there; she wanted to see him one last time. Too bad that message was useless, Brandon wouldn't see that text until it was too late. Her surroundings were becoming blurry and she took an involuntary step back. Suddenly her legs gave out and Stef caught her before she could hit the ground. The last thing Callie heard was the sound of Jude's voice yelling her name before her vision went black.

SO guyssss, let me know what you think! Should I continue? Is there something I should fix? Let me know in the reviews!
