Doing Good

Summary: Leonard and Sara have a run in with their future selves.

Disclaimer: I do not own DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

The fall air was brisk, and the trees lining the sidewalk were nearly bare of any leaves. Sara observed the houses on either side of the street, as she and Leonard walked by.

"This neighborhood looks like something on the front of a greeting card," Sara said.

"Which is exactly why the police won't think to look down this street for the thieves of some explosives," Leonard said.

Sara rolled her eyes, "So you've said, but what if the police's thinking has changed from 2016 to 2023?"

Leonard smirked, Central City's police has always had a problem catching me."

"Says the man that's been in and out of prison his whole life," Sara quipped.

Leonard glared at her playfully, "Watch it, Lance."

Sara shoved him on the shoulder, "I could take you, Snart."

Leonard smiled at the flash of silver on her left hand, before replying, "I know."

Sara caught Leonard smiling at her engagement ring and took his hand in hers. She was about to stand on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek when the sound of screeching tires reached her ears. She glanced behind her, "Shit, undercovers."

Leonard scanned the area around them, "Clump of bushes to our left."

Sara nodded, and they cut through someone's yard to the managed to hide themselves inside the bushes, with the leaves covering most of their bodies.

"Well, this is cozy," Sara muttered, moving around to get comfortable.

"Quiet!" Leonard whispered, peering at the road.

Sara turned away from him, rolling her eyes. She watched a little girl a couple of houses down on her swing set.

The little girl's curly, blonde hair kept blowing in her face. She couldn't have been more than five or six. Sara smiled, as the child's laughter carried to her and Leonard's hiding spot. It reminded her of how much she used to love swinging.

A man with an almost shaved head came into view. He was wearing black jeans and a black leather jacket. He was holding a baby in a green onesie, blocking the view of the man's face. Sara didn't knew to see the man's face to know who it was though.

Behind her Leonard was still watching the street for police cars. "Okay, I think they're gone. We can keep moving in a few minutes," he said.

"Len..." Sara whispered, still staring at the little family.

"What is it?" Leonard asked, pivoting to face Sara.

Sara gasped, as another child ran into view. Sara guessed that he was about three. She wasn't close enough to make out any of his features except for the straight brown hair covering his head.

"Sara?" Leonard asked, concern seeping into his voice.

"It's us," Sara managed to say, as the older version of herself walked into view.

"What?" Leonard demanded, scooching forward.

"There," Sara said, pointing at the older versions of themselves and their future children. Leonard's eyes followed where Sara was pointing, and his whole face softened.

"We have kids," he whispered.

Sara nodded, dumbly beside him.

"And they don't look scared of me," Leonard whispered.

Sara smiled at him, "Of course not. You'll be a great dad."

Leonard kissed her cheek, "And you'll be a wonderful mom."

The pair turned their attention back to their future selves forward and children.

"We do good," Leonard muttered.

"Yeah, we do," Sara said, laying her head on his shoulder.

AN: I've seen a lot of fics where Sara and Len see their future selves before they get together, and I wanted to write one where they see their future selves when they already had an established relationship. Thanks for reading!
