A/N: Part of the Spectrum of Colours verse - a rewrite for the Digimon Cyber Sleuth game. Written for the Mega Prompts Challenge, word prompts #12 - adhesive, and for the Becoming the Tamer King Challenge, Steamy Jungle task.

Spectrum of Colours
side-story

Yellow Glow

For some reason, they attract him.

Usually, he is just floating in space, in black and white and grey. He knows what to stay away from, what to try and get towards. Grey is neutral: neither here nor there, the backdrop.

These two are yellow and it's been far too long since he's seen other colours in the spectrum.

And yellow is brighter than white. He realises this when it draws him in so much more easily. And it is warmer too, more lasting. Like a small candle flame, although it burns his fingers after a bit and he has to draw away.

When he does, they're gone and everything is just black and white and grey again, and he is sad. The burning lingers but not long enough, and too quickly he forgets the exact shade of yellow it was but he remembers yellow and he's sure if he sees that splash of colour again he'll remember them.

And then, one day that feels an eternity later, he does. It is different. He knows it's different but he can't quite put his finger on the change - nor does he want to in case it disappears again - but it's the same colour, the same light, the same soul, nonetheless.

Post A/N: Yuugo's POV for a rewrite (of sorts) of Cyber Sleuth - once I manage to pierce the original story together.

The change to singular at the end is not a mistake BTW, even if Yuugo hasn't yet picked it up.
