"See you guys in a few days!" Ruby waved, as she, Yang and Zwei disappeared from view on the Bullhead. Crue, Weiss and Blake stood on the platform, waving goodbye until they found a socially acceptable time to stop.

"So…" Crue began, once their arms had begun to tire. "What's Team Cowboy gonna do til they get back?"

Blake sighed. "We are not calling ourselves that." Crue stuck his tongue out at his fellow Faunus, while Weiss sideled away.

"So, this is probably a bad time to mention that I got us cowboy hats." The Heiress poked the tips of her fingers together, smiling sheepishly.

Crue's face split into a wide smile, while Blake looked betrayed at the only other mature member of her team. "They match your colours." She produced two hats from behind her back, one a deep navy and the other a dark purple.

Crue instantly grabbed his, setting it on his head and feeling his ears pop through. "Oh, did they have options for Faunus?" He twisted his head back and forth, feeling the air tickling his ears.

"No, unfortunately." Weiss frowned lightly. "I had to cut the holes in them myself. I hope they fit." She looked to Blake hopefully, the Faunus holding her hat by the brim and staring at it with a growing sense of dread.

She made the mistake of looking up and meeting the Heiress' sparkling eyes. With a heavy sigh, she set the hat on her head, with a very blunt: "Yeehaw."

Weiss clapped her hands together lightly with a laugh. "Perfect!" She exclaimed, before whipping out a bright white hat and smacking it on her head. "After researching cowboys, I found out that their outfits would be quite suitable to the Atlesian climate."

Crue sniggered at 'researching cowboys', wondering if Remnant had any kind of 'Spaghetti Western' movies that were set in Vacuo. Weiss went on about how a poncho, boots, hat and scarf would all be quite suitable attire for her homeland.

Crue half paid attention, wondering what they would do for the weekend, when the answer seemingly appeared before them.

"Ah! Newcomers!" A green blur stopped in front of them. "Welcome to Beacon! I am Doctor Oobleck, I do hope you enjoy your stay." The lanky Professor nodded to them, taking a sip from his thermos.

The trio made eye-contact, unsure of whether or not the professor was messing with them or not. Crue decided to test it out.

He cleared his throat slightly and stepped forward. "Well howdy there, Mistah Oobleck." There was a sound akin to that of a cat dying, as Weiss and Blake held in their laughter.

"Sure is mighty kind of ya to greet us like this." The Faunus tipped his hat towards the Doctor, who grew a slight smirk.

"A pleasure that I'm sure every other Professor here at the wonderful college." His voice began to waver.

"Well, Ah'll be happy to meet them, as will mah associates." He gestured to the two shaking girls behind him, trying as hard as they could not to laugh. They managed to nod to the Doctor, Weiss curtsying lightly.

"And Ah hear you've got a proper firecracker of a woman working this here rodeo." He leaned his chin on his hand, eyeing Oobleck. "Ya think she'd let me try her on for size?" Oobleck let out a noise like a stuffed elephant, and Crue knew he had won.

"Gotcha."

Oobleck let out a loud laugh, which gave Weiss and Blake the release they so desperately needed, taking in gulps of air through the laughs. "You did get me indeed." Oobleck nodded, wiping a tear from his eye.

"But it is nice to see Vacuan culture spreading throughout the youth." The Professor smiled warmly, before thinking of something. "In fact, I may have some Vacuan Films in my study."

"Tell me," He turned to the trio. "Do you think that young students would like to participate in a movie night?"

Crue, Blake and Weiss turned to look at each other. None of their 'young' lives would be relatable to that of an average student.

Weiss grew up in a mansion, with butlers and servants to perform her every whim. Blake was an ex-terrorist, and Crue wasn't even from this world.

"Sure." The three said as one.

"Excellent." Professor Oobleck smiled, before dashing away, presumably to set up the 'movie night' he was speaking of.

"Well that was a thing." Blake stated, while side-eyeing Crue. "How were you able to do such a good accent."

Crue smirked and inclined his head slightly. "Now, a cowpoke gotta keep some secrets." The other two left it at that, deciding to head to one of the many training halls and do some sparring.

Crue thought back to the orphanage he lived in as a child, where they had a rather scarce selection of movies. Almost all of them were old westerns in black and white. As a child he almost forgot colour TV existed until he saw one while walking in town.

"Anything in particular you would like to work on?" Weiss asked, referring to the training regimine they had created a month ago, and Crue had been working on ever since. The Faunus nodded, recalling what he learnt on his expedition with CRDL.

"I want to try something with my Semblance, but it'll require a lot of concentration." The Faunus chewed his lower lip lightly, while Weiss and Blake shared a look behind the boy and nodded in sync.

"We'll get Ren." Blake said, taking a detour to their dorms so she could grab the resident ninja. The other resident ninja.

"What is it you'll be trying?" Weiss asked, her face kept pleasantly cool thanks to the hat blocking the sun.

"You know the way my Semblance doesn't let me stick to walls, it more lets me change my centre of gravity." Crue waited for Weiss to nod. "Well, I was using it a while ago on the thing with CRDL, and I was able to make the ceiling the centre without actually touching it."

Weiss let a look of intrigue appear on her face, and leaned into Crue to hear a bit more. "And because of how gravity works, which we know, thankfully." The Faunus was glad that Gravity Dust existed, the name alone showed that Remnant at least knew about that particular force of nature.

"I wondered that if I made my centre something smaller than me, instead of me going to it…"

"It would come to you." Weiss finished, her eyes wide with realisation and interest. "Crue, that's ingenious!" Her voice contained what Crue could only describe as, respect.

"Oh." He blinked, his own voice somewhat surprised. "I thought you'd be, I don't know, surprised I could think of that."

Weiss' expression, which had originally been curiosity, morphed into a slight frown. "Crue, I think you're remarkably intelligent. I thought you knew that."

The Faunus came to a full stop, his whole body freezing at her words. Weiss stopped as well, looking to Crue with concern.

The Faunus slowly raised his hand and let it rest against his heart. "Holy shit, I think that's the first time I've felt genuine happiness in a while."

"Good lord." Weiss' eyes were wide, taking in the rather worrying sentiment her friend just expressed. The Heiress' hesitated for the briefest moment, before stepping closer and wrapping her arms around Crue.

The Faunus stiffened, before acting on instinct and returning the hug. "Crue, sometimes the things you say genuinely worry me. But," She looked up, her pale blue eyes filled with determination. "We care about you."

Crue was at a loss for words, his own world of self-hatred and doubt being blown away by the Heiress. His mouth opened and closed uselessly.

"Thank you." He finally managed, his tongue feeling ridiculously dry. Weiss looked up and smiled.

"Not a problem." She released Crue, and continued to the training hall. The Faunus followed after her, with a quick rub of his eyes on his sleeve.

It had been a long while since any form of liquid had shown itself around his eyes. Crue shook his head as he walked, certain that the emotions he felt were his own, and not some shoddy work of the Author's.

Weiss and Crue entered the training room, pleased to find it empty. "Now, what do you wish to test your Semblance with first?" The heiress' asked. Crue instinctively raised Setanta, only to have it gently lowered by Weiss.

"Maybe we try with something that isn't sharp and deadly first? Hm?" Weiss smirked, as Crue sheepishly lowered the dangerous weapon. The two checked the various supply closets, looking for objects that hopefully wouldn't give Crue too much of a headache if this thing went wrong.

At the end, they had a small selection of objects laid out before them on a training mat. "So, we'll start from smallest and work our way up." Crue pointed at the tiny golf ball they found in a corner.

"I'll get the first aid kit ready." Weiss smirked, stepping away from the training mat to observe Crue in action.

The Faunus took a few steps back, and stared at the pure white ball laying on the blue mat. "Ok, so, whenever I try to walk on a wall, I think of standing on it." He imagined himself standing on the tiny ball.

It wiggled, which as far as Crue was concerned was progress. "But not enough. Maybe if I…" Instead of imagining standing on it, he imagined the ball floating towards hi- "Ow."

Crue's head was tilted at an angle, the ball having struck him in the nose and knocked his head back. "Are you alright?" Weiss called from the bleachers, her Scroll in hand.

"Yeah I'm fi-" He noticed the Scroll. "Are you recording this!?" He asked indignantly.

"Yes." Weiss responded. "For, research purposes." She couldn't quite meet Crue's eyes. The Faunus squinted, not believing it for a second.

Regardless, he turned around to focus on the golf ball. "Ok so, float towards me." He ducked in time for the ball to go flying over his head, only for it to slow down and bounce against his back.

"Makes sense." He picked up the ball, and thought of something. He imagined it floating towards him once more, but held onto it tightly as it struggled to get to his centre. He gave it a small flick, and it began circling around him.

"I'm a planet." He laughed. He heard a snigger, and looked over to see Weiss holding her Scroll while covering her mouth.

He gave a dead look to the camera, and caught the golf ball in its orbit. He held it up to his eye and examined it. "How do I stop it going so fast." He threw it away, and immediately focused on it. The ball instantly skyrocketed back to him, as Crue tried to slow it down.

To his credit, the ball did manage to slow down a small bit, before clocking him in the nose. "Well, that's gonna take some practice." Crue said, his voice somewhat nasally.

"Maybe you should move onto something larger." Weiss said, stepping closer and pocketing her Scroll. "I'm assuming you mostly want to be able to do this with Setanta?" She waited for Crue to nod.

"Well then," She examined the objects with a critical eye. "Try the baton." The object was a fair bit larger than the golf ball. Crue nodded, examining the object as he imagined it coming towards him.

It began to waver and rise, as Crue tried his best to focus completely on it. It picked up in speed, right as the door to the training room opened.

"FUCGHG!" Crue clutched his groin, falling to his knees as there was a hiss of pain from one of the newcomers.

"Did I come at a bad time." Ren asked, Blake sniggering beside him at the incident.

"No." He groaned out, while slowly rising. "Been a while since that has happened to me." He stared at the two ninjas as they made their way over to him.

"Tell me you didn't record that one." His eyes wandered over to Weiss, who looked disappointed that she was unable to capture the moment. He frowned as the heiress realised she was caught out. She took a step to the side as Ren approached the Faunus.

"I was told you need help with concentration." He placed his hands together in a stance that reminded Crue of the creepy saint statue at the end of the street he grew up on. The ninja's eyes briefly lingered on the hats they all wore, but after a lifetime with Nora, he decided not to question it.

"Yeah, I need to focus completely on an object and make it come to me." Crue said shortly.

Pink eyes blinked once, before he nodded. "Very well." He looked around seeing the various items and blue mats. "Have a seat." The ninja got into a cross legged position and pat the ground next to him.

Crue matched him in posture, sitting across from him. "Now, you have to clear your mind, and focus on what you want to, come towards you." Ren didn't question it, but he was certainly going to have questions after.

"We'll leave you be." Came Weiss' voice, as she and Blake exited the room. Crue took a deep breath, before deciding on which he wanted to concentrate on most.

"Dumbbell. Dumbbell. Dumbbell." His ears twitched as he heard the door close. "Oh Weiss must have closed the door. Dumbbell. Dumbell. Dumbbell."

"Um." The door opened back up again, and Blake poked her head in. "Crue. You didn't happen to think about Weiss at all, did you?"

"Uh," The Faunus blinked in confusion. "For like, a second. Why?"

"Cause she's pinned to the wall." The words caused the two males to quickly rise and run to the door. The moment Crue stepped outside he was knocked to the ground by the white body of Weiss slamming into him.

The two groaned on the ground, as Blake laughed and Ren hid a small chuckle. "Well, apparently your theory works a little too well." Weiss complained, sitting up and resting on Crue's chest.

"Yeah, at least I know it can work on people now." He laughed half-heartedly, before his voice cut out completely.

Weiss looked down to see Crue wearing a rather dangerous smirk. One that betrayed an idea that would end poorly for someone he wasn't fond of. She recognised it. "You've thought of a prank, haven't you?"

The Faunus nodded happily, and began to concentrate.

...

"...and I want you to go meet Solaris-" Cinder Fall stumbled to the side, the tea she had been sipping spilling over her dress, leaving the room in dead silence.

Emerald, Mercury and Neo all stared at her in confusion. Cinder herself looked down at the stain in complete bewilderment. "What on Remnant-" She was jerked to the side once more, stumbling over her heels as she fell to the ground on her rear.

"What is happening!?" She exclaimed, standing up once more as the others looked at each other for an answer. Neither Emerald nor Neo were using their Semblances, not that they would dare against Cinder.

"Who is-" Just as she had managed to get to her feet, they were swept out from under her and left her face first against the ground.

Mercury held his breath, trying not to laugh. "I'll, uh, I'll get right on that mission you gave me." He said quickly, sidling around the quickly warming ground to get to the door. "I'll make sure she has a nice time."

The door closed, and the three women could hear metallic footsteps booking it down the hall, once fading they could assume he broke into laughter. Cinder looked up from the ground, her raven hair messy and her amber eyes glowing with anger. "Somehow-"

She jerked again, and felt herself being pressed against the wall, the sensation not unlike laying down on a bed. She seethed as she stuck to the wall.

"Somehow, this is Cullen's fault."

Got on a roll, decided I would write as much as I could before I end up back in college. The cowboy hats... Yeah I don't know why I put them in there. But it was fun. And they'll probably come back at some point.

So, Crue tests something with his Semblance, a certain someone is moving closer to Beacon, and Oobleck likes old western movies. Hope this was a good chapter, sorry for the shortness and the odd jokes but, I think Crue made some progress.

Anyway. I hope you enjoyed, if you did let me know, and as always

Until Next Time
