The Evil Inside
Author's note
Decided my new year's resolution was gonna be finishing this story, considering that I started it 2 years ago and it really shouldn't have taken me as long as it did but I've now written the last chapter. Also, in my last note, I said I wasn't going to say what was in the dream but I've decided that it will be mentioned in this chapter but anyway read on and enjoy.
Chapter 10: She?
Leo's POV
Mikey woke up with a sudden gasp; me, Raph and Donnie surrounded him. After Salvador calmed Mikey, he turned to us and introduced who he was, what he was and why he was there. We explained what had happened and he took us to the bright spirit plane, which I found out was the other side of that barrier. Currently, we were stood in one of the rooms to the castle the spirit lived in with Mikey on a small hospital bed that was quite low to the ground.
Mikey had been asleep for a few hours and in that time he had been bandaged up by doctors and nurses. We were told that these bandages would also be there when we returned just like his wounds would be too. Mikey had a bandage on his leg where a rather large gash was whereas the other smaller cuts were cleaned and left to heal. He had a bandage around his left ankle as it turned that he had sprained it however, the doctors said it would heal quite quickly. The three slash marks on his right cheek were originally bandaged but then were stitched and left uncovered. We were assured that there would be no infections from any of the cut however the three gashes would scar.
As Mikey sat up, he hissed in pain from his ankle and drew the hurt leg up to his chest. He glanced around us with curious light blue eyes.
"What happened?" He asked and we all looked at each other.
"You don't remember?" Donnie answered turning his head back to Mikey as our little brother shuffled slightly on the spot.
"No, only bits of it." He began. "The last thing I remember was when the mist came again."
"Well …" I started. "After the mist, you emerged as your wolf spirit but your fur was blackened."
"You didn't seem to recognise us through, Mikey." Rach cut in. "You started growling at us although it was clear that you were definitely after Demon."
"Did I … hurt you guys?" Mikey asked nervously, his fingers intertwining with each other and head lowered.
"You almost did, once." Donnie replied hesitantly and Mikey's head shot up. "But Salvador already explained that you had lost yourself and didn't know if we were a threat or not."
"Salvador? Who's Salvador?" Mikey said, confusion evident on his face.
"Salvador's the spirit that guided you back to yourself, he's the one who took us here." I answered.
"Guided … I was so lost. Everything was so blurred and unclear and I-I-" Mikey had broken down completely but as we tried to help him he only shouted in pain when we touched him. He fell to the floor from the bed onto his heads and knees, his whole body was shaking and his form started glitching back into his chi spirit.
Suddenly we were pushed aside by Salvador as he ran in. He put one hand over the other and outstretched his arms so that his palms were facing Michelangelo. A golden ray of light bled from his hands and showered Mikey, slowing the glitching until it remained as his usual form.
Mikey panted before sitting back against the side of his bed.
"Spirit?" Mikey began through ragged breaths. "What's wrong with my soul?"
"You see Michelangelo, Demon twisted your mind into believing that you were like it." Salvador replied. "This, in turn, caused your soul to become unsure of itself and so, believing Demon, you allowed yourself to let go. Your light aura turned dark and you became lost. I was able to bring you back but only enough so that you can learn to control it. Unfortunately, because you had killed in that form that meant that there was no way to lighten your soul. This is why in your vision, your brothers told me about, one of the orbs was cracked. Sadly, that was your soul you saw Michelangelo. However, you can control it if you don't let it consume you." Salvador added after seeing the distraught look on Mikey's face.
"What - what happened to Demon?" Mikey asked, having now completely calmed down.
"You killed it, Mikey." I answered and for a second Mikey looked horrified before a glint shone in his eyes and darkness began to emanate from him.
"Mikey?" Raph said, reaching an arm out only for Salvador to pull it back.
"Now Michelangelo, I want you to focus on the things in your life that make it brighter." Salvador began. "Really grasp onto them and calm yourself."
Slowly the darkness faded away and Mikey was left with a brighter aura. "See." The spirit said. "I told you that you could control it and you just did."
"Mr Salvador, sir?" A guard spoke from the doorway. "The general wants to see you."

Salvador's POV
"My son." Father began. "I am proud of you. I am glad that you decided to help those terrapins because who knows what would've become of the young one's soul."
"Thank you, Father." I bowed. "Your approval means a lot to me."
"Now son, I am not only your father but also your general and the council had a meeting and I convinced them to allow you to join. Your actions have earnt you your place on the council." My father announced as a smile lit up on my face at the thought of finally joining our great leaders.
"Thank you, Father – I mean general!" I exclaimed as I saluted.
"It was my pleasure, my soldier. However, there is one other thing I wanted to speak to you about." I nodded as he put an arm over my shoulders and we walked down the corridor. "There is no doubt you saw the fate of the turtles and what will happen to them next after you guided the little one's soul. Am I right?"
"Yes, Father." I replied.
"Now, you know that there is no way we can help at any time. This is not a spiritual matter and we have no business getting involved." He explained and I sighed.
"I know Father, I understand that I am not to intervene as it does not involve us."

Mikey's POV
I fiddled with the bandage on my leg as me and my brothers sat in, to me, an uncomfortable silence. However, I looked up to see them all staring at me and anger shot through me.
"What?!" I practically shouted, feeling that sense of darkness returning again. "Why are you staring at me?!"
Seeing them all flinch, even Raph, from my tone of voice, I realised my mistake and quickly calmed myself. "Sorry dudes." I apologised. "Just well – you know. It's been a long week."
"Yeah, we know." Donnie agreed as they sighed and nodded.
"Hey, Mike?" I turned my head to Raph. "Could you tell us about that dream Demon mentioned."
I didn't answer.
"Come on Mike, you can tell us anything." Donnie stated, concern clear on his features.
Quickly a frown fell on my face and I looked down at my lap. "No. I don't wanna talk about it."
"Why not?" Leo asked.
"Because." I answered simply.
"Because of what, Mikey?! What was so god damn scary about that dream?!" Raph growled back causing me to look up and glare.
"Because it wasn't a dream, Raph! It was a vision of something that will happen to us in the future!" I shouted as I clenched my fists.
"But, what did you see?" Leo asked me and I felt my frustration rise.
"Nothing!" I answered. "I honestly saw nothing. All I could hear were voices and that was it."
Well, what did they say?" Donnie said and I didn't answer again. Can't they see that I don't want to tell them in case it's not true?
"Mikey! Just tell us!" Raph demanded and I reluctantly told them. I repeated every simple word said.
"I know she's good though." I stated but Leo just looked sceptical.
Just then Salvador entered with Sensei and the Daimyo.
"Sensei!" I shouted as I limped over to hug him. I clenched onto his robe and we hugged before he pulled back.
"Are you ready to go, my sons?" He asked and we all nodded, thanking Salvador and saying goodbye to him and the Daimyo as a portal was opened.
Donnie passed me my crutch and I smiled in gratitude as we walked through the portal and into our lair. We all stood in silence for a minute before Donnie gasped in exasperation.
"What?" Leo asked as we turned to look at Don.
"All of our stuff is at the farmhouse and so's the shell razor!" We all groaned.
"It is alright, my son. We will think about that tomorrow. For now, I think we should all just relax." Sensei said with a fond smile on his face. "If you need me I'll be in the dojo, I never did finish cleaning the weapons before I left."
We stood there for a few minutes after Sensei had left before I broke the silence.
"So, uh … you dudes wanna play a video game?" I asked. "I did leave them all here when we left."
"Hell yeah!"
"Of course!"
"I get to pick!"
Quickly we all raced to the TV, fighting over which game to play before finally settling on one. We spent the whole night playing before collapsing asleep on the couch at 5 am.

Join me, I can help you.
Maybe we should
How do you know she's good?
She will help us with our powers, all we've gotta do is help her first.
This decision is tearing us apart.
What about your dark aura?
I know by now when I'm using it or not.
I woke up with a gasp, not that dream again.
