100 Prompts: Lost and Found

Smol [EreMika]

More drabbles. Sorry guys, I've been busy, so it's been so hard to try to write longer stories. I've only been able to do my 100 themes stuff. Check my bio for updates though!

Eren looked around frantically. With every second that passed, he started shoving past the trees and shrubbery even faster and harder. His breathing became faster, and he grew angrier by the second.

"Mikasa!" his voice rang out in alarm. The firewood on his back began weighing him down, so he unstrapped the backpack and dropped it. He scowled. Even if he got in trouble for not coming home with enough wood in time, he knew she was more important. "Mikasa!" he yelled again.

A branch hit him in the face and he cursed. How annoying. If it wasn't for her, he wouldn't be in this position.

He couldn't lose her, he just brought her home the other day! And his mother would kill him for losing the girl in the forest so carelessly. He called out to her again and hoped he would hear her voice respond to his desperate calls. He already missed her soft, angelic voice.

Wait, no, that's not why he needed to find her. He was going to get in trouble if he didn't, that's all. It's not like he really cared for her wellbeing. She could make it home eventually if she really wanted to. Right?

Out of nowhere, a tree root tripped the boy, sending him flat on his face.

Now, Eren was not a very patient person. And this really was not helping his case. He wanted to scream.

"Where could she be?!" he asked nobody in particular.

He thought about what would happen if he really lost her for good. He remained on the floor and sulked.

She was so cute and sweet and innocent. In the week and a half that she had been living with his family they had already grown close enough for Eren to consider the little girl one of his best friends, next to Armin of course. Not to mention she was very pretty! What if he wanted to marry her? Well he couldn't now, seeing as she was missing in the damn forest.

"Eren?" he suddenly heard her small voice behind him. He turned around a little too quickly and his hand shot up to ease the sudden pain in his neck. She saw the fresh cut on his face from the branch, and the mud that decorated his clothes.

Eren stood up quickly and quickly scanned her form, to make sure she was okay. She seemed perfectly fine. Relieved at first, he couldn't help but feel annoyed. Did she have any idea what stress he just went through?

"Where's your wood?" she asked innocently. Eren suddenly remembered he indeed felt much lighter from the lack of firewood on his back. Oh yeah.

He frowned and pushed past her angrily.
