Luna walked to the edge of an open window, determination clear in her blue eyes. The moon shone brightly, casting down the citizens of Ponyville. Tonight will be a great night. Not just for her, but for her children she loved dearly.

She closed her eyes and sighed. "Come little children, I'll take thee away, into a land of enchantment. Come little children, the times come to play, here in my garden of shadows."

The alicorn opened her wings wide and jumped out the window, only to fly upwards into the night sky. "Follow sweet children, I'll show thee the way. Through all the pain and the sorrows."

She flew over many hoof-built homes, but there laid one colt, who had nothing but a piece of cardboard. He laid on the ground sleeping, unaware as the princess of night casted a light down on him. Satisfied, the princess continued flying to her destination.

As she flew, she passed by a broken down home where a window was opened up. A small filly laid in a bed, sleeping soundly.

Sensing distress, Luna casted another light down on the foal and continued flying to her destination.

Seeing it right in front of her, the princess folded her wings, causing her gently fly to the ground, only to close her wings completely to her sides.

"Weep not for children, for life is this way. Murdering beauty and passions."

She casted another light to shine down in a bedroom, where three orphaned fillies slept peacefully on their beds. One by one, they each noticed the strange light and proceeded to investigate together.

"Hush now dear children, it must be this way."

The three of them looked around, utterly confused as they noticed the window of the orphanage was wide open. They suddenly all started float up to the window, where the moon greeted them more light, as if to embrace them.

"To weary of life and deceptions."

Smiling as she saw her children, Luna turned around.

"Rest now, my children. For soon we'll away, into the calm and the quiet."

With that, the alicorn spread her wings out and lifted off into the air.

The princess flew higher and higher and stopped in front of the moon, casting down many more lights on more foals who were her children.

Her children of the night.

More and more foals flew into the air, smiling in great joy as they followed their mother, who flew there waiting for all of them to come to her. She smiled at all of them.

Luna turned around, facing the moon as she flew towards it.

She turned her head around, to make sure they all were following her and her only.

They flew over clouds, miles above the hard ground. Two foals dunked through the soft clouds, comforting them for a second before the flew up once again. One foal, white with a pink and purple mane, flew in a circle above Luna, before the princess herself brought the filly closer to her.

"Come little children, I'll take thee away."

The princess of night nuzzled the joyful filly, before she was floated back to her foal companions, who each never wanted this adventure to end.

"Into a land of enchantment. Come little children, the times come to play, here in my garden of shadows."

Luna spun around, excited to be with all her children at once.

The princess flew closer to the moon, with fifteen more foals following close behind her, wishing this could last forever.
