AN: This is therapeutic for me and I will not be judged.
Forgiveness
It was late at night. Outside, a dramatic thunderstorm was pouring down. Indoors, a young man was ignoring the drama, in favour of sitting and watching TV.
The nineteen year old Dipper Pines was living alone in the Mystery Shack, looking after it for the summer while his two grunkles went on a much-needed bonding vacation. Soos and Wendy had both long since gone home for the day, and the adventurous teenager wasn't expecting anything in the way of company.
This was then ruined by knocking at the door.
Dipper rolled his eyes, and resolved to ignore it, not wanting to deal with the rain and wind outside. But the knocking had other ideas, and continued pounding at the door, getting steadily louder, until Dipper rolled his eyes and got up.
"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, I'M COMING!" He yelled, socks padding on the floor as he walked over to the source of the banging sound.
"What do you wan-"
His sentence stopped dead, as he saw his visitor.
It was a man, tall and handsome with golden blond hair. He was wearing a black top hat, and had a bowtie around his neck. Despite these fashion statements, the man himself looked tired and ragged, with multiple injuries on him, and clearly had been running for his life at some point. A fringe of his hair covered one eye, but the visible one had a look of defeat and pleading in it.
Despite never having seen the man before, Dipper knew exactly who it was. Bill Cipher had returned.
"Pine Treeā¦ I don't have anywhere else to go, I'm being hunted, you have to help me!" Bill begged, looking seconds away from collapse.
Dipper almost felt a swell of pity. He almost took compassion on the man in front of him, and let him indoors, giving him clean clothes, hot food, and a warm bed. This pity would have had the potential to grow in to forgiveness, followed by romance. The story almost went that way.
Then Dipper looked at the scars that were still on his arm from Bill stabbing forks in to him as a twelve year old, thought of the burns from electricity that had been on Ford after Weirdmageddon, and the constant nightmares that haunted them both to this very day. Thinking over all of this, Dipper reached his decision.
"Get fucked."
And he physically kicked Bill off of his porch, before slamming and locking the door.
"Pine Tree, wait-!"
"I WILL GET THE BROOM, SO HELP ME GOD."
AN: Ta da! Basically, how all those 'Dipper saves Bill and then romance followed by sexytimes occurs' fics would REALLY go. Nobody is obliged to forgive or help their abuser, especially in this case. Bill absolutely abused Dipper and Ford, we fucking saw him do it on screen. Repeatedly. Forgiveness is not something anybody should be working for there.
