Chapter 23: Possibility

The sound of Caroline ripping their bathroom door open alerted Klaus that something was wrong. She had been having torturous dreams about Mikael, but this was the first time they had made her physically sick. After following her into the bathroom, he made her a class of water just like he did when she suffered from morning sickness, and settled down on the marble floor next to her. Carefully, he rubbed her back as she sat up and leaned against his chest. He could feel the sweat that covered her skin, as it had soaked through her thin nightgown. If he could take her nightmares from her he would. The nights she woke him up from her screams, he would try to enter her dreams, but he couldn't. Her mind was too strong, or perhaps the nightmares were too powerful. Either way, the only thing he could do was soothe her was to hold her through the terrors.

"Are you alright love?" He asked, after a few moments of just holding her. She nodded gently, as he helped her take a few sips of her water. "Do you want to tell me what the dream was about?"

"No."

It was the same answer he had gotten for the past week. Whatever dreams she had been receiving had been shaking her to her core. He could tell by the way she shut him down with one single word; something she never did to him. Caroline told him everything, but from the volume of her screams and the lack of sleep, she was getting told him she was suffering mentally. Physical pain he could fix, but some emotional pain there was only so much he could do. Right now, she was shutting him out when it came to the dreams, and for now, that would be how it would be.

"What are you doing today?" Nik questioned, trying to change the subject, but not ending their conversation. He needed he to talk, because talking kept from keeping the nightmares taking over her life.

Caroline sighed, as she got up from the ground. "Showering," she answered as she stretched her arms. "Then I am taking Peter to see Bonnie," she added. "You?"

"I think showering," he began with a smirk on his face as he stood up. "Then, I'll think I catch up with some painting and meetings while you're out," he added. Caroline however, hadn't even listened to what he said after shower. As she had already stripped out her nightgown, and started the shower. The look she was giving him was telling him that he certainly was going to have a good start to his morning.

Klaus's eyes studied the canvas in front of him. Usually, he preferred landscapes and abstract figures, but recently he had plenty of beautiful inspiration. Taking his wooden paintbrush, he dipped it into the deep blue paint, before beginning to the paint the image he knew by heart. The shape of his child's big blue eyes was beginning to form on the canvas, and Klaus couldn't help but smile. His boy was growing bigger and bigger every day, and it was if every time he blinked his son's life was flying by. As much as possible, Klaus tried to commit the memories of Peter's days as a baby to the canvas, as he felt like photographs did not just capture the innocence of those precious times. He loved Peter with every fiber of his body, and it was bitter-sweet thinking all the firsts he watch Peter experience, would be the only firsts as a parent he would have. One child was more than he ever imagined, or thought possible, but as someone who loved his siblings very much, Klaus worried if being an only child would be too lonely for his son.

"Niklaus," Elijah spoke as he walked into the art studio. "I have some news, from Stefan he and Rebekah found something in Mystic Falls," he stated.

Klaus put down his paint brush on the edge of the aisle, before taking the rag on the edge and wiping his hand. A week after he had returned from his honeymoon, Klaus had sent Stefan and Rebekah back to Mystic Falls. Although Damon had brought to light that fact that Liz Forbes had been murder, Klaus didn't trust him entirely. Luckily, Caroline had not questioned when they had told her Stefan was just missing Damon was the reason behind the trip.

"What is it?" He asked as he stood up from his stool and faced his brother.

Elijah placed one hand in his pants pocket, "They've been questioning people to see if they've seen someone matching Mikael's description. Some human must be on vervain because they got a hit. Mikael stole their car, about a week ago," Elijah informed.

Klaus groaned as he ran his hand through his hair. "He could be anywhere then. For all, we know he could already be in New Orleans," Klaus stated. "I have a meeting with the witches this afternoon, are you coming with me?"

Elijah nodded, "I know better than to leave you alone with them."

"Now brother, I signed your treaties," he paused and smirked. "But, I am allowed to at least mess with their minds, if I can't hurt them for irritating me so much."

"Has having a child not calm you any?" Elijah asked.

The hybrid cupped his chin for a moment. "I haven't killed anyone since Lockwood, so I would say, yes," he paused. "If the witches cannot help us, we will have to get Bonnie. You did never tell me why I should not be asking her for help?

Elijah smiled and took a step closer to his brother. "I believe you would not be the right Mikaelson to ask," he said as he crossed his arms.

Klaus raised an eyebrow. "Kol?" He asked with a knowing voice. "Has something happened between the two of them?"

"They kissed after the wedding," Elijah said. "That's why he's been brooding around, apparently he doesn't have the guts to call her."

Klaus laughed. All the years of Kol claiming to be a womanizer, he couldn't even pick up the phone to call Bonnie. "Well, he might have to get over that. Caroline and Bonnie are friends, after all, the witch is going to come back over here sooner or later."

"Probably sooner," Elijah remarked. "With Mikael, we will need her help."

He nodded. "Let's figure out how he came back, then let's figure out how to kill him, so that Kol can court the witch," Klaus smirked. "Who would have known that you would be the single one out of us, Elijah."

Elijah looked at his brother. "Clean up, I'll go call the witches," he said before walking briskly out of the room.

Klaus shook his head and began covering the containers of paint that he was using. When he had brought Caroline home, he had never thought she would have managed to not change him, but his family for the better. Everyone seemed more willingly to commit to others, and he for once was not questioning his sibling's choices of partners. For years he had worried that no one would be worth of Rebekah. Elijah, on the other hand, was never fully trusting of any of the women he laid eyes on and had spent most of his life determine to reunite his family. Kol was always the wild child, now it seemed that perhaps Bonnie Bennet would tame him. While, his sister had finally found someone that he wasn't going to kill, yet. All of these changes in his family's personal life was all because of Caroline. As she had shown him, and perhaps the rest of them, they were capable of loving others.

Three very dark, very obvious, plus signs stared at her from the small digital screen on the sticks. Caroline Forbes couldn't believe her eyes, there was no way she could be pregnant again. Between the combination of her husband's questionable fertility, breastfeeding, and the fact that she had a baby just three months ago, the idea of her being pregnant should be ludicrous. Yet, she stood in the small bathroom in Bonnie's dorm, with three positive pregnancy tests in her hand. Although Klaus had thought she got sick from her dreams this morning, the way she felt was all too familiar. The way her stomach had twisted and turned, felt exactly the way it had her few first months of her pregnancy. On the way to Bonnie's she had picked up the test, but she hadn't expected them to be positive. Not knowing what to do, she placed caps on the sticks and walked into Bonnie's room. Peter rested in his baby carry, his large bag next to it. Unzipping the top of the bag, Caroline tossed the tests into the pile of clean diapers and other baby necessities, before settling on the floor next to Peter. He was the sweetest surprise she had ever gotten, but even the most experienced mothers would struggle with two babies so close in age. With Peter alone, Caroline was struggling. She couldn't remember the last time she had a decent sleep or went a day without getting baby drool or spit up on her clothes. As she looked around Bonnie's small dorm room, it reminded her of the small one she had lived in the year before. Now, as she looked at Peter, she realized how fast her world had changed. In all of a year, her life had come to revolve around two people. Now, it seemed her world would soon revolve around three.

"Caroline, why are you on the floor?" Bonnie asked as she walked into her dorm room.

Caroline's eyes darted to her friend, and she managed a small smile. "Just hanging out with my little man," Caroline said, let tickling the bottom of Peter's foot covered in a green sock. Bonnie had asked Caroline to drop by, as the Witch had said she had some news to tell her. "So, what did you have to tell me?"

Bonnie put her book bag down next to the ground before walking by Caroline and sitting down on her twin bed. "Come on, Peter's snoozing you can sit on the bed," Bonnie instructed, patting the silky gray bedspread. The blonde sighed, as she got up on her feet, and sat down. "Now, tell me what's wrong," Bonnie said, with a knowing eye.

Caroline loved the fact that Bonnie had stayed in New Orleans, even though she had certain feelings that certain annoying Original may have something to do with it. Right now, she had wished that Bonnie, someone since she had known since she was a toddler, wasn't in town. At least over the phone, she could have avoided the piercing look Bonnie was giving her. "Bonnie," Caroline began. "I need you to do something for me."

Bonnie titled her head. "What is it?"

"Oh," Caroline gasped, as she felt her stomach knots. "I am just going to say it," she paused. "I am pregnant!" Caroline announced, as a feeling of excitement emerged within side her. When she had first suspected that she was pregnant, she had been unsure. Peter had been a surprise, a great one, but she wasn't sure if she was ready for another surprise. Now, as she admitted it out loud, she realized she was ready. She wanted this baby just as much as she had wanted Peter.

Bonnie sat there shocked for a few moments. "Again?" Bonnie questioned. "But Peter is only three months old! Did you not learn anything in sex ed, Care?"

Caroline rolled her eyes. "Does anybody learn anything in sex ed in Mystic Falls?" She joked.

"I am being serious here, Caroline," Bonnie started, what would probably be a long spill. "You just had one baby, a very cute, very powerful baby. On top of that your still having nightmares about Mikael, and the last time you were pregnant may I remind you that it wrecked your body."

Being pregnant with Peter had been rough, but it was worth it. "I know, all of that is true. I just need my best friend to be excited for me because I am oddly enough not freaking out about this right now, despite there are three positive pregnancy tests in my diaper bag!"

"Three?"

Caroline shrugged, "I have three more new ones, but I figured you be more accurate."

"Caroline," Bonnie shook her head. "The 99.9% tests aren't accurate enough for you?" She asked.

If Caroline had learned anything with Peter, is that nothing was ever simple as taking one of three tests. "No," Caroline replied. "Can you just check me, I trust you especially considering the fact the baby isn't normal."

Bonnie stood up, and walked over her desk and pulled out the crystal she used when Caroline was pregnant. "You know the drill," Bonnie sighed, as Caroline laid down on the bed and pulled up the white blouse she was wearing to reveal her stomach. Bonnie let the crystal hover over Caroline's stomach, chanting something in Latin.

"So?" Caroline asked as Bonnie stopped the spell, and pull the crystal over her head.

Bonnie smiled, "You pregnant!" She said with some excitement, as she sat on the edge of the bed.

Now, Caroline could tell something was wrong with Bonnie. "Bon? Is there something wrong?" Caroline asked as she sat up, her hand instantly going to her stomach.

Bonnie looked at her and took a deep breath. "Caroline, I had a vision of more markings being added to the cave," she admitted.

"Oh," Caroline said looking over at Peter. The markings had been harmless to Peter, but they had also prophesied the ending of her first pregnancy. She wondered if these new ones would be as harmless as the ones about Peter. "That's the news you wanted to tell me?"

"Yeah, I was going to tell Kol, but I've been trying to avoid him since the wedding, and since they are about you I figured, I just tell you," Bonnie explained.

Caroline nodded. For once she was the first one told about the markings, especially when they were in a way about her. "Wait," Caroline began as Bonnie's words ran through her head one more time. "Why are you avoiding Kol?"

"I kissed him after the wedding."

"What?!" Caroline exclaimed as she stood up. "You kissed Kol, how did I miss that?" She asked, her voice catching Peter off guard. Without a second thought, Caroline was squatted down next to the baby carrier, and scooping the whimpering baby boy into her arms. "Sorry," she whispered to Peter, for startling him, then looking at Bonnie. "Exactly when did you kiss my brother-in-law?"

"Probably by the time you were off conceiving baby number 2," Bonnie replied, with a raised eye. "May I ask if you even thought about a little thing called a cond-

"Don't change the subject!" Caroline interrupted, as she bounced Peter in her arms. "I was on the pill, but it obviously doesn't work with Mr. Magical-Fertility," she added, quickly. "Now, back to you and Kol swapping spit."

Bonnie sighed. "I was tipsy, he was tipsy, we were in a car headed back to the Abattoir, and it just kind of happened, and then I ran to my old room, and locked the door."

Caroline smiled. She always had a feeling all that time Bonnie spent with Kol had lead to a little infatuation on Kol's part, but Caroline hadn't know Bonnie perhaps felt the same. Although Bonnie had feelings for Jeremy for the longest time, Caroline knew Bonnie needed someone with less angst ruled personality and a more carefree one, to balance out her strait and narrow way of life. "So, you and Kol?"

"Okay this has gotten way off subject, Care," Bonnie said as she stood from her bed. "You are pregnant again and once again the creepy markings are showing up. Shouldn't you be more concerned about that?"

Caroline shrugged, as she placed a kiss on Peter's head. "I've been watching baby cartoons most days and changing poopy diapers, I need to live vigorously through someone's love life," she paused. "I will tell Nik about the markings, after I tell him I am pregnant, again," Caroline stated.

Bonne smiled at her. "Good luck."

Caroline hugged Bonnie and they exchanged their goodbyes. As she gathered up Peter and her belongings, Caroline knew she was going to need all the luck she could get. The fact that Klaus was her husband, didn't exempt her from his mood swings. She was nervous about he would take her being pregnant again, but Caroline knew for one thing, and that she was ready for another baby.

Klaus reached over the bar top and took a bottle of bourbon and a glass. Without so much as a second thought, he poured the glass full, before taking a sip. Currently, he had closed down Rousseau's for a meeting between Marcel, the Deveraux, Jackson, and Haley. Even though he and Elijah had originally planned a meeting just with the witches, Klaus had decided to get everything done in one meeting. The time of having multiple meetings and threatening people individually to do as they were told was coming to an end. Now, he had a Queen and an heir to get home to, and the threats could be consolidated. Maybe when Peter was older, he would go back to his days of hunting and threaten one person at a time, but for now, he felt like one of his siblings could take up the act.

"Hayley," Elijah began as he looked at the female wolf. Klaus could tell by the way his brother was eyeing the girl, that he found her attractive. The hybrid himself, however, thought the exact opposite. Elijah though had always been the one for brunettes, while he was captivated by one beautiful blonde. "Was with Tyler before his death, she has information that can be of use," Elijah explained to the others who stood in a circle in front of Klaus and Elijah who sat on the bar stools.

"So, she was shacking with the enemy?" Marcel asked as he crossed his arms. It was clear to Klaus, that Marcel did not seem fond of the girl, but Marcel hated any werewolves in general.

"We were dating," Hayley responded glaring at him. "I would say we were on the way to ending things, I stayed around to try to prevent the other wolves from getting killed," she added quickly, looking at Jackson.

During his time alive, Klaus had become good at reading people. To him, it was obvious that there was some underlying attraction between the alpha wolf and she wolf that had been with his former Hybrid. "The one wolf that came to harm Caroline, others were willing," Jackson paused and looked at Klaus. "Hayley convinced Tyler to only use the blood for one turn, apparently there was enough for three or four."

There weren't many times he was sloppy with his life, but leaving his blood in Mystic Falls was one of them. "How nice," Klaus sighed, "However, that has nothing to do with Mikael. Sophie and Jane-Anne, have you figured out how a witch could resurrect him?"

The sisters exchanged glances in between each other. "We would need Davina's help, she's the strongest out of us," Jane-Anne said, sending a glare Marcel's way.

Klaus wondered how a simple girl had been the cause of a war, but she had. Even after he had taken over, Davina was still a sore topic to the New Orleans community. The girl never listened to her coven, and lived in Marcel's house, causing problems within the witches and vampires. In other words, Klaus hoped she lived a very short mortal life. "Marcel, please tell your housemate to help out."

"Why can't you just use Bonnie?" Marcel questioned.

Klaus rolled his eyes before taking a sip of his drink. "Bonnie will assist, but I prefer to have all the witches under my protection do what I ask them. Or does Davina need to be reminded that she is just a mere girl compared to me?" He threatened.

Marcel shook his head, "I'll get her to help." Klaus smirked as he took another sip of his scotch. If he wasn't careful, he would finish the whole bottle in mere minuets. Despite his tolerance for alcohol being very high, Caroline wasn't fond of him drinking heavily than being around Peter. Motherhood had brought out all her worries, and in a way it had brought out his too.

"In that case, Hayley is there anything you can tell us about your interactions with Mikael?" Elijah questioned.

The female wolf nodded. "He's bloodthirsty, more than a newborn vampire, and he's obsessed with your child," she said looking at Klaus. "When Tyler told him about the baby, Mikael became determined to use it for something. He's the one that suggested Tyler trying to use the blood to complete the transition to hybrids."

Klaus tilted his head, remembering the day Caroline was attacked. It had been the day he proposed to her, and the Hybrid had been killed. "It worked, but did Tyler ever find out if it did?"

Hayley looked at Jackson, and he nodded at her. "No, that's why he came to Caroline's house. He wanted to get the baby and bring it to Mikael. He, Mikael, he killed the witch the resurrected him, and a few of the wolves."

"Oh great," Sophie muttered looking at the wolves. "Another witch killer, just what the world needs," she added, her tone filled with sarcasm to hide her worry.

"Why would Mikael want to create more Hybrids?" Elijah questioned, looking at Klaus. "It doesn't make sense."

Klaus shook his head and finished his drink, slamming the glass down on the bar behind him. "Yes, it does," he began as he poured himself another drink. "He used the notion of the idea to entice Tyler to try to get Peter, it didn't matter if the theory turned out, he just wants my son."

Mikael had haunted his family for a thousand years, and Klaus knew that Mikael targeted the weakest links. Finn had been the sibling most likely to be used by Mikael, and for centuries Klaus had left his brother daggered. Soon, his father narrowed in on the others, and before he knew Klaus was the only one not daggered. Now, his father was going after Peter. A small, innocent, three-month-old baby who was just learning to lift his head up on his own. It was downright despicable, but Klaus knew Mikael just wanted to use Peter to torture him, and he wasn't going to let that happen.

"He'll go after others," Elijah spoke breaking the silence that had fallen on the room. "Our father has never liked wolves, he'll kill your kind if they get in your way," he said looking at Jackson and Hayley. "He feeds off of vampires usually, Marcel," Elijah noted as he turned his direction the vampire. "They need to be on vervain immediately, and we need a location spell on Mikael was done, now."

The witches looked at Klaus. "Are you two wasting my time?" He asked. "Do what you're told," he instructed before taking another sip of his scotch.

All his family had hoped for was to live without fearing their father. For the past few years they had done so, but now as they finally had found the peace he had been resurrected. Klaus didn't know how, but he was going to be sure this time would be the last time. And if he could, he would be sure that his mother on the Other Side could never bother them again. The Hybrid would not spend the next thousand years running, he was over it. He had settled down and had his own family, and he would not let his son be subjected to the life he had lived for so long. No, this would be the last Mikael or Esther crossed him.

Caroline settled herself in her bed, pulling the duvet over her lap as she rested against her pillows. The soft sound of Peter sleeping away in the nearby bassinet, eased her nerves as she waited for Klaus to come to bed. This pregnancy was going to be a little easier to break to Klaus then the last. At least this time she wouldn't sound like a crazed person as he knew it was now possible. That little piece of knowledge didn't make telling him easier, she thought about telling him a cute way, but Klaus wasn't one for beating around the bush. One thing she knew about her husband, the term still fresh in her mind, was that he liked being told things straight. Even though he was a thousand years old, he was not a patient man. So, she was just going to say it, that she was pregnant again, and that they were going to have two babies roughly a year apart. The fact that she was pregnant again excited her, as she honestly thought Peter was it. After all, her darling boy wasn't even supposed to exist, and in a way Caroline kind of assumed Peter was it. Of course, she went on birth control the day before her honeymoon, and looking back she probably should have planned better. Or maybe, even with a newborn and being recently married, she wanted another child.

"Love, you didn't have to wait up for me," Klaus said as he stepped out of the bathroom, fresh from a shower. Gray sweatpants hung low on his hips, his chest bare, as he walked across the room to the bassinet where Peter lay.

"Well," Caroline said, as she looked at him as he reached down to give Peter a kiss. "There's something I need to tell you."

"Yes?" He questioned, as he turned to look at her. "Is something wrong?"

Caroline nervously twisted her wedding ring, a nervous habit that she had recently acquired. "I don't know how to say this," she struggled.

Klaus raised his eyebrow as he stalked over, and sat on the edge of the bed next to her. "Don't tell me you're already asking for a divorce?" He joked as he took her hand.

Caroline let out a nervous laugh. She knew going into their marriage divorce would never be an option. Once one was given the Mikaelson name, it was one that would never be taken away. "No," Caroline said. "I went to see Bonnie today."

Klaus nodded his head, she had told him that she was going to see the witch and that she had taken Peter with her. "Oh, are you about to tell me about Bonnie's and Kol's kiss?"

"How did you find out?" She asked, being caught off guard.

"Elijah," He answered with a smile. "If you are asking me to help play cupid, I rather not. Bonnie is one of the few witches that like this family, and I don't exactly condone Kol doing anything to mess that relationship up."

She wanted to point out the only reason Bonnie liked their family was because they had been friends for years. If it was for her, Caroline knew Bonnie would not even be in New Orleans. "Besides that point," Caroline said nerves running through her. "I went to see Bonnie today because I needed to talk to her."

"About?"

Caroline took and deep breath and looked at him. His eyes were wide in curiosity, and little concerned. The man in front of her had given her one child already and had become the best father she had ever known. Not only did Nik love their child, he loved her and all her flaws. She knew the nerves she had were good ones, because even as unexpected as her news was, deep down Caroline knew Klaus would be okay with it.

"Peter is going to have a sibling in about nine months," Caroline admitted.

Those perfect lips of his turned up into a smile, as his blue eyes grew wide. "You're pregnant?" He asked as if he didn't believe it, but Caroline could see that he was already searching for the heartbeat.

"Yeah," Caroline replied, shyly. "I guess we had a little too much fun on our honeymoon," she smiled.

Suddenly Nik pulled her against her and his lips were on hers. "Another baby," he whispered, as he pulled away from his eyes drifting to her flat stomach. She could tell he was excited, although he wasn't jumping for joy. No, Klaus was always reserved about his excitement, even when it came to their family. "I can't believe it," he smiled as he kissed her again.

Caroline could tell the blush forming on her cheeks, "Nik," she murmured against his lips. "Are you," she was struggling with words. "Okay with this?" Caroline asked. They had never discussed having another baby, although they never really discussed having Peter either. The only thing they had ever discussed was the fact that they would not have any children, but that had been proven false.

"I believe a year ago, you were telling me that you were pregnant with Peter," he paused as to let her head rest on his chest. "I'll admit then, I didn't understand what to feel because it wasn't supposed to be possible. But now that's Peter here, you being pregnant again is a good thing," he said, as he kissed her forehead.

A good thing, being pregnant was a good thing. It was something that she had struggled with when she was pregnant with Peter, now though it seems right. Peter deserved a sibling, and she wanted another child. Even though this baby wasn't planned, she knew just like Peter this baby would bring happiness into this family. If she hadn't gotten pregnant, Peter would not have a sibling, she would not have another child. In a few years, Caroline knew she would start asking herself why they didn't try. Now, they didn't even have to try, as it happened. In a little over a year, her life had changed so much. When she first came to New Orleans, she was a single college student ready to experience life outside of Mystic Falls. Now, she was a wife and a mother to one, with another on the way. The past year had flashed before her eyes, and it didn't scare her. For at the tender age nineteen, soon to be twenty, she was at peace with her life.

Unable to sleep, Klaus slipped out of the bed leaving the sleeping Caroline undisturbed. With so many thoughts running through his mind, he needed some air. He slipped one of his henleys's on that laid on the dresser next to Peter's bassinet. His eyes drifted over to the sleeping baby, and his son must have sensed his movement, as Klaus was greeted with big blue eyes looking at him. Grabbing a soft white baby blanket, he went over to the bassinet and scooped Peter into his arms holding him against his chest. Carefully he draped the blanket over the baby's back and headed out of the room. Soon, he found himself on the balcony overlooking the city, the same way he had when he found out Caroline was pregnant with the baby in his arms.

"A year and two weeks ago, I stood here after your mother told me she was pregnant with you," Klaus murmured looking at the drowsy Peter in his arms. The baby stared at him with nothing but adoration and love, something Klaus had never known were possible until he had his son.

"I know your mother probably wants to tell you," he paused, as he looked out to the kingdom he had promised Peter. "Or maybe she already has, but you are going to have a sibling," he admitted.

Peter let out a gurgle, as his little hand reached up to lay flat of Klaus's chests. Klaus smiled at his son, Peter was still too young to know what was going on. The idea of a sibling was something the child couldn't comprehend, but Klaus felt still he had to tell his son.

"You know, I come from a large family," he stopped as he heard Peter let out a large sigh. "There was six of us, Finn, Elijah, myself, Kol, Rebekah, Henrick. We lost two, for so many different reasons," he said, remembering the painful deaths of both of his siblings. "But I promise you, Peter, you'll never have to experience that pain," he promised before kissing his son on the forehead.

When Caroline had told him she was pregnant again, he had been overjoyed. The thought of having another child oddly made sense to him. He didn't know if this child would be their last child, but if it wasn't, Klaus would be fine with it. Despite all the griping and hatred, he directed towards his own siblings, Klaus knew he truly couldn't imagine a life without them. The thought of Peter being an only child never felt right to Klaus, but now the baby boy in his arms would have his own brother or sister. Peter would have a person to hate, love, cherish, protect, annoy, and at the end of the day that person would still care for him. Klaus was grateful his son would experience having a sibling, but as a father he was fearful. Mikael already wanted to hurt the child in his arms, the child that was safely in Caroline's womb would be no different.
