The Fates had decreed it as always. They were the supreme controllers of life and death. Nothing can stand above them -let it be a god or goddess, a titan or titaness. The whole world will bow at them, the masters and charioteers of time and change. They make judgments and decide punishments. And now, they sputter what they do best.
A curse.
"The Sun and Moon are inevitable lovers." Clotho announced, her voice ancient and powerful, loud and clear. Nothing can stop her. In her hands were two familiar orbs glowing and pacifying the world. The Titan of the Sun, Helios, and his sister, the Titaness of the Moon, Selene, kneels before them. Weak and powerless. Only watching what their sins had procreated.
The globes alleviated towards the next Moirai, Lachesis.
"But because of your insolence, Helios..." Lachesis spat and glared with her eyes of taunting and trickery, chivalry at its finest, towards the embodiment of the Sun. She caught the satellites and spun them around the atmosphere. She willed it at her behest, the glorious Moon always first, running. The righteous Sun, chasing.
"The Sun will forever be seeking its partner in the endless sky." The last Fate, Atropos declared. The lovers stared as their symbols of power were thrown in the cosmos and the curse reverberated. The illuminating spheres danced in the sky but never did the Sun hit the Moon nor did the Moon grasp the Sun.
Helios expressed defiance and hurt as the Fates cursed him and his sister. Selene fled away, her memories of them destructing into mist. The Fates' divine magic wasn't to be underestimated. The effects worked as soon as possible. And Helios, bearer of his sin, weighed the pain more than his victim.

Every time Helios came to see her counterpart, she would eventually turn back and cry. Selene didn't know why Helios's presence pains her a lot. But she couldn't stand him anymore, and accepting without reason created more cracks on her facade. Helios learned to respect that eventually, after many approaches and broken hearts. He ran through the sky, longing for the moon but not even a hair of her would slid by his finger.
One day, he saw Leto giving birth to the twins of Zeus, their forms unlike of any other heavenly bodies.
They were great gods destined for greatness. Helios knew by the way their aura brought prophetic wisdom and ephemeral strength. They will be famous and worshiped, feared and offered. Ah, he knew...the way the divine boy plays and chases innocently for his mysterious sister. They were the next Sun and Moon. The succeeding Golden King of the Day and Silver Queen of the Night.
Helios also knew that the blessing of being lovers and the curse of being together will inevitably befall on them.
And it was his own fault.
