Okay, I wanna clarify some things before all of this gets started. This is my first TWD fanfiction, so I'm really excited!

Secondly, Clem IS older, she is about to turn 19 (obviously, as I'm not gonna ship an 11 year old with a 27 year old :p ) Luke may be a bit younger, I'm not sure yet.

Also, yes, Lee is alive in this fanfiction. Originally, he wasn't, but I asked some friends and they all voted for him to be alive. In this, he was never bit.

I'm really pumped for this story, I have many plans for this. Please enjoy, and leave reviews about what you think of it! Constructive criticism is always welcomed!

Clementine's POV.

I sat on a fallen tree, my bottoms getting wet by it. It has been raining a lot, and been getting cold, too. Lee was by my side, putting an arm around me.

Christa's attitude wasn't helping either, but I couldn't blame her.

I sighed and looked up at her, she was sitting some distance away from me and Lee. "Christa, talk to me."

She stayed quiet for a bit, then she sighed. She got up with a stick and started to poke the fire. "This will never work." I looked towards the side, feeling guilty.

"Look at this, it's pathetic. The wood's too wet to burn." She continued to poke the fire, as I looked at the ground.

"There's more smoke than flame. At this rate, we'll be eating this for breakfast." I thought of something to say, it wasn't often she spoke to me.

"Relax, Christa. We'll get it to light up some more." Lee reassured Christa, or tried to.

"I can look for more things to burn.." I said, a bit upset. Christa sighed, "You should be doing this, not me. Tending a fire so you can cook and stay warm. It's something you have to be able to do, Clementine. Otherwise..." I knew she was right, but her tone made me feel like everything I did was wrong.

I looked down at the ground once more, feeling defeated. "You will be turning what, eighteen soon? I will not always be the one tending the fire for you, or Lee." Christa commented.

I looked up at her. "We can't build a big fire at night, it attracts too much attention. It's too dangerous when we're here by ourselves." Lee was about to say something, but decided against it once Christa opened her mouth once again.

"We need to eat, don't we? We can't survive without food." She was right, and I looked down once again. Lee hugged me tighter, and whispered to me. "Don't feel upset, sweet pea. But she's right. We'll talk about it later, okay?" I nodded slowly.

After a quiet pause, "..I-I'm freezing." I said, holding onto Lee. He looked at me upset.

"You think this is bad, wait 'til we get up to Wellington, then talk to me about cold. If we make it." Christa replied, sounding harsh. "We still have a couple of hard months ahead of us," She said, getting up and facing the woods, her back facing us. "This rain will turn to sleet, then ice, then snow. It won't be easy." She faced us again and crouched, tending the fire once more.

Lee got up and was collecting some twigs that seemed dry enough. I looked away from him and at Christa. "Is it safe there?"

"Safer than here because of the cold. Or, so they say. We just need to keep moving north." She said, now poking the fire.

"Definitely. But we bet our asses we will find warmer clothes for that." Lee said, putting the twigs he found in the fire. It made it light up a bit more, but it still wasn't enough.

I stayed quiet while they tend to the fire. Christa then suddenly got up. "I'm gonna go look for more wood. Keep the fire lit." She started to walk away, and Lee spoke up, loud enough for her to hear, "Be careful!" Christa turned a bit and nodded, and disappearing from our eyes.

"Look for something else to burn, honey. We don't want Christa more upset than she already is." Lee told me, crouching next to a rock and looking around.

I nodded, and stood up. I grabbed my very small backpack and unzipped it. Where's the lighter? I shuffled through some things. I pulled out Duck's drawing of Kenny, Katjaa and himself. I let myself stare at it for a couple of seconds before putting it in my back pocket. I wish they were all here. I shook my head, and pulled out a picture of Lee. I smiled at it. When the world wasn't as shitty.

"Whatcha looking at?" Lee said from behind me. I showed him the picture and he smiled widely. "Damn. Look at that young face." We both giggled, and I placed it in my pocket along with Duck's drawing.

I saw the lighter and pulled it out. It had a butterfly stamp on it. I zipped the small bag and put it where it originally was. I got up and walked towards the campfire. I pulled out the lighter and Lee handed me a small paper. I gave him a smile and lit up the paper, I then later placed it under the wood at the fire. It immediately started to light up.

"Better, but still not enough. The flames are too low." I said, looking at the pathetic campfire. "I'm working on it, Clem." Lee said to me, as he was picking up a small twig.

I walked around and saw a license plate. "This won't burn." I said to myself. I then heard Lee pick up something and place it in the fire, I smiled as the fire lit up more.

I was about to say something, but I then heard shouting. "L-Lee?" I stood up, and Lee placed a finger on his lips, telling me to be quiet. Lee started to walk towards the woods, his gun pulled out. With shaky hands, I did the same.

"Don't fucking lie to us!" We heard a voice shout. "Who do you think you're foolin'?"

"Give us the truth and you don't get hurt." Lee and I spotted Christa surrounded by men. Shit, bandits! "You fuckin' with me? Where's the rest of your group?!" One of the guys demanded.

"I-I'm by myself!" Christa replied to them, clearly scared. "Bullshit!" "She's lyin'!" "Cut the shit, lady." One of them pointed his gun at her.

"Clem, we need to distract them!" Lee whispered and aimed his gun at the one pointing the gun at Christa.

"It-It's just me.." Chris said, her arms up and looking down. "Come on guys, she's not sayin'!" "You expect us to believe you're out here all alone?!"

I immediately aimed at the one holding the gun, and fired. It hit him in the skull, and the body fell limp on the floor. "CHRISTA, RUN!" I yelled out. "Shit!" Lee said, and held my hand. "Stay close, Clementine!"

"Hey!" We heard, and Christa cry out. Lee and I ran away from them, hoping Christa would get out of there.

"Get the fuck over here, NOW!" I heard one of the bandits shout, but Lee and I hid. "MotherFUCKER!" As we were gonna make a run for it, he spotted us. "Get the fuck over here!"

I slide down before he could grab me, and I didn't see Lee. I ran away, keeping an eye out for Lee. I almost ran onto a walker, but I dodged them on time. My lungs felt like they were burning, my heart was beating fast. Where is Lee?!

The zombie that I had dodged stood in the middle of the bandit and I, but he killed it. It gave me time to break some wood from a tree. As he ran towards me, I stabbed him with the wood in the shoulder. Blood came pouring out, I felt like puking. This isn't the time, Clementine! I started to run away from him, seeing Lee a bit further up. "Jesus! Are you fucking kidding me!" I heard the man say, but I kept running. I reached a place where there was a river, and the man lunged at me. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" I screamed, and Lee got on top of the bandit.

Lee punched the guy multiple times, but the bandit took force and knocked him out. "LEE! NO!" I yelled, but the bandit got a hold on me, and I tried to get free. "Quit squirming, you little bitch!" I immediately did the only thing that came to mind, and started to chew on his finger until blood came out. I took this as the chance to leave and I ran towards an opened tree, but before I could try anything he catched my leg. "Get outta there!" I kicked it multiple times but with no bail. He pulled me out and I held onto a tree. "Are you fucking kidding me!" He was too strong, and made me pull away. I whimpered loudly. What do I do?!

"Girly, you are on my last fucking nerve!" The bandit said as he was on top of me, holding onto my hands as I tried to fight him. He was too busy trying to fight me, when I noticed a walker right behind him. I widened my eyes and gathered all my strength to push him off of me, and onto the walker. He cursed loudly and as I was looking at the scene, a walker grabbed onto my arm. I started to panic and pulled. The walker's arm ripped from its body.

LEE! I suddenly remembered and ran towards the river where he was unconscious. I saw a walker get close to him, but I quickly pushed it off of him. There's nothing I can do, nothing but die. But I can't do that, I can't give up, not now! I held onto Lee, as if he could protect me. I backed away as the walkers drew closer. "Lee.." I whimpered. I then realized that I had backed up a lot, and soon enough Lee and I met the freezing water. I was still holding onto Lee.

Unconscious.. I gasped for air as we met the surface, but we were moving too fast. I blacked out.

I opened my eyes slowly, then I began coughing. I got up with the strength I had left, but I noticed Lee wasn't beside me. I hugged myself. It was freezing out here..

I saw a figure on the other side, laying down next to the river. Lee! I immediately thought and ran towards him.

As I approached him, I was right. It was Lee. I shook him up, checked his pulse and noticed he was alive. It took a few minutes, but I got him to get his eyes opened.

"C-Clem..?" He weakly asked. I immediately hugged him. "Oh, thank God you're okay, Lee.." He coughed and tried to hug me back, but he was too weak.

"Don't worry, sweet pea. I'm okay, I'm okay.." He let out a grunt when he got up, with my help of course.

"We need to get out of here, it's not safe." I said to him, he nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Okay." I lead him towards a broken , wooden staircase.

"Come here, Lee. I'll give you a lift." I said, already in position. "No, Clem, you don't have to do th-" "I'm not asking you, Lee. Come on." Lee sighed but he knew he couldn't win this. He placed his foot on my hand, and I quickly lift him up. "Okay, your turn." He said and offered his hand, I took it and jumped up.

Once we were both there, we saw a dead walker with what seemed to be a pole with a sign, impaled in its skull.

The smell was horrible, but we had to suck it up. "Come on." I said, and took Lee's hand. He nodded. "You're being really brave, Clem." I smiled at him. "I'm proud of you." We continued walking into the forest, in silence. It was for the best, we didn't want to get attacked any longer.

As we continued to walk, we came to an abrupt stop. I stepped up, and suddenly a dog was there. I gasped. A dog? In the middle of a forest? In this kind of world?! I approached it, and Lee placed a hand on my shoulder.

I looked at the dog, who was staring back at us. "So, uh. Where are your owners? They around?" I asked. I knew the dog wouldn't say anything, but it was worth the try. "If they are, I hope they are nice." Lee pet the dog carefully, trying not to scare it away. The dog let out a whine, and started to walk towards a direction.

"What's he doing?" I asked Lee, who looked just as confused as me. The dog started to bark and it ran off somewhere. "Hey, what'd you find boy? Where are you going? Wait up!" I said, almost shouting. I grabbed Lee's hand again, and started walking towards the dog with Lee. "Let's be careful." He said, and I nodded. "Okay, Lee."

We walked a bit, before we reached a small camp. "Looks pretty run over, but you never know." I said.

"I'll look for some food. Stay in sight, sweet pea." I couldn't help but giggle at the nickname, but I nodded at him.

It's been a while, and everything was searched. "There's nothing here." Lee said, and sat on the ground, feeling defeated. "I haven't checked the trash.. there's still hope. You sit tight." Lee let out a sigh. "Okay."

I walked towards the trash, and rolled my sleeves up. Ugh… I guess I have no choice. After a few moments of shuffling the trash, my eyes couldn't believe it.

"Lee! Lee! I found something! Oh my God!" I grabbed it and ran towards Lee, showing him the can of food. He gave me a high five, and used the knife he found on a zombie to open it.

"Please don't be bad.." I whispered, hoping Lee wouldn't have heard that. I heard him chuckle. Welp..

He opened it and I let out a relieved sigh. We started eating, and I felt a pang of pity towards the dog, who was staring at us. "You hungry?" I asked him, suddenly his ears perked up. "Clem, I don't think it's a good idea." I heard Lee say. "It's okay, Lee. He's just as hungry as we are, if not more." Lee let out a sigh, and I started giving the dog some of the food. I noticed it was taking too much. "Hey, you're almost done with it!" I snatched it away, and the dog growled at me. Oh, shit. It lunged at me and I yelled as it bit my arm. "LEE!" I couldn't see what happened next, but the dog wasn't no longer on top of me.

"L-Lee?" "Oh my God, Clementine! Are you okay? Shit! Your arm! Fuck!" I heard whining and I got up. I saw the dog stuck in something. It had impaled his body.

I got out the knife I had, and ended its suffering. Poor guy..

I covered my wound with my sleeve, and I winced. "We have to go, your arm isn't looking good." Lee said, and went back for a second. He picked out the can of food we opened.

We ate it while we left the place.

I had started to walk more slowly. "Do you want me to carry you, sweet pea?" I shook my head. "No, you're still weak. Let's just.. let's just rest. That seems like a good place." I pointed towards a huge boulder and I sat against it. Lee did as well. I could feel him staring at my injured arm, but there was nothing I could do about it.

I'm losing too much blood. I heard myself say, internally. I know.

"You sprained your ankle." I randomly said to Lee, who just slowly nodded. "Yeah, I did. Don't worry."

Lee placed his arm around me. I guess I can't complain. I have Lee. I have Lee..

My eyes were starting to shut and I was about to sleep, but groans and moans filled my ears. I saw walkers. Shit, walkers!

"Clem, Clementine! Get up!" Lee got up and pulled me with my good hand. We started to walk away, but my vision wasn't good and I was feeling dizzy.

"Agh, shit!" I heard Lee say, I turned a bit to see what had happened and saw a walker. It got on top of me and I tried to get him off of me with all my strength. I started to give up, but suddenly my face got covered in muck. The walker's head had been cut off.

"I'm out! Grab her, I'll take big guy over here! And let's go!" I heard someone say, but I couldn't focus my eyes. I felt myself being carried. "Come on kid, we gotta get!" I heard someone else say.

I heard grunting, which I recognized to be Lee's.

My vision was still blurry, but I could see some things. I saw walkers, lots of them. I saw Lee being carried by an old looking man. I kept whimpering as someone carried me.

Eventually, they stopped running. "I think… I think we're safe." The old looking man said. He had short, gray hair. Green clothing and a black beard, sort of like Lee's. Speaking of him, the man placed him down. Lee was panting, even if he hadn't been running. He let out a cry as he touched his ankle.

"Yeah, yeah we're good." The man carrying me said. I couldn't quite look up, as it was a pain in the ass.

"Hey, you alright?" The guy seemed to ask me, and the old looking dude crouched next to Lee. "I...I think so." I muttered. "Come on, we gotta get going." Lee got up with the guy's help and we continued walking. "What are you two doing out here?" The old man asked. "Where are uh.. other people you guys with?" The guy carrying me now said. "There's no way you two made it this far by yourselves."

"I don't want them thinkin' we're doin' anythin' but tryin' to help you." The old man said. "It was just a friend, her and I. We got attacked." Lee answered, not wanting Clementine to be in any more pain. "Hmm… these people mention what they were after?" The guy helping Lee asked. What's with the questions?

"They probably wanted food. Our supplies. Not that we had any." Lee answered once again. "They attacked you for nothing, basically? Damn, that's low." The guy carrying me say, and Lee nodded.

"They didn't mention any names, right….? They weren't searching for anybody?" He asked. "No." Lee simply said. After a moment of silence, the same guy spoke again. "Well, I'm Luke, and this's Pete."

"Hey there." Pete greeted both of us. "I'm Lee, and this is-" "I'm Clementine." I spoke up.

"It's nice to meet you, both, Lee and Clementine. For now, we're gonna take y'all back to our group, okay?" I nodded and so did Lee. "We got a doctor with us and you guys look like you could use som- OH SHIT!" He instantly dropped me and I felt my arm hit the floor. "Aaargh!" I cried out in pain. "Clementine!" Lee hurried to my side and I winced in pain, my wound bleeding.

"What? What is it?" Pete asked, worried. "She's… she's been bit, man! FUCK! Fuck, fuck, fuck fuck! What are we gonna do here?!" I cried out in pain once again when Lee held my arm. "She wasn't bit! It was a dog that did it!" "Lee, it hurts!" I said, holding onto his shirt with my good hand.

"I didn't see any dog back there, Lee." Pete said, his hands on his hips. "Come on! We just saw those with those lurkers back there!"

"It was before all of them showed up, we found a dog and when it got hungry, it digged it's teeth in Clem's arm! It was NOT a walker!" Lee tried to convince them, holding onto me for dear life.

"Just look at it! It's not from a walker!" I said, trying to defend myself. Luke instantly began to laugh, his nervousness showing. "Yeah, and have you sink your teeth into Pete's neck? No way."

"Watch how you talk to her! Look, if you don't believe us then fine, we are not your business anymore, we can take it from here!" Lee said, hugging me tight. I began crying, I didn't know what was going to happen. Will we die? I hope not.

Pete stared at me for a couple of seconds and I stared back. "Hmm.. all right. Let's look at it."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Watch yourself." Luke said, earning a glare from Lee and I. He turned to me. "Hey, don't look at me like that! You're the one that's bit here, okay?" "I said, watch how you talk to her, unless you want your fucking face smashed in!"

I sniffed, "Lee, please…" He instantly stopped and payed attention to me and Pete. The older man grabbed my arm, and pulled up the sleeve. "See?" I said. "Is it, uh.. is it like she says?" Luke asked, worried.

"Hmm.. well, could be a dog. Hard to say." He took a second before speaking again. "So, where'd this "dog" go?"

Lee closed his eyes for a second. "I did the first thing that came to mind. Kick the dog out of Clementine. I didn't mean to… I didn't mean to push him towards the things sticking out.." He sighed and I could only look at him with sympathy in my eyes. "It's okay, Lee.. it wasn't your fault. I had to… I had to kill it afterwards. To end it's suffering."

Luke then reacted. "What? Really? A dog comes and bites you and you just kill it?" Lee has had it with Luke. "Well, what do you expect? The dog bit Clementine, and she put it out of its misery! It's not like she let it there to suffer, so you shut your fucking lips!" Lee shouted and I winced at them arguing.

"What would you have done?" Pete then asked Luke. "I-I don't know! You don't… you don't kill dogs." "We didn't have a choice." Lee said, glaring at Luke.

Pete then went back to looking at the injury and at me. "Clementine?" He said, like my father would say when I did something wrong. But this time, I was being honest. "Yes…" "You tellin' us the truth? Look me in the eyes when you answer me."

"Yes." I said, sternly, looking at him. "Hmph. Alright. That's good enough for me." He said, getting up.

"Well, what else was she going to say?" Luke asked Pete. "I got a good Bullshit detector, Luke. That's why you can never beat me at poker." The old man said. "Pfft. You don't always beat me at.. All right, how can you be so sure?"

"Well, I'm sure I ain't willin' to leave a little girl in the woods to die when we have a doctor with us that can make a call. We can have Carlos take a look at it first, also Lee. He needs help with his ankle." I glared at them a bit.

"I-I'm almost nineteen… I'm pretty sure I'm not a 'little girl'." Pete laughed a little, "You sure do look younger than that. But either way that's still pretty young, and I ain't lettin' you stay here with that injury."

Luke glared down at me. "Nick ain't gonna like this, not after what happened to-" He was cut off by Pete. Lee helped me up. "You don't have to remind me of that, boy." "Right. Sorry, sir."

I let out a groan of pain as Lee helped me up. "Shh, it's alright sweet pea. We're getting help, okay?" I nodded.

"Come on." Pete started walking, so we followed. I walked slowly, my vision once again feeling blurry.

They all stopped. "Clem?" Lee asked. "Clementine, are you feeling all right?" Pete asked. "I'm fine… just… tired." I said. "I'll carry you." Lee said, walking closer to me. I shook my head. "Your….ankle…"

Lee looked worried. "Well, you better be fine, cause I ain't carrying you with that bite on your arm." Luke harshly said.

"Don't worry about….." I felt my head spinning, and soon enough I hit the floor, not before hearing curse words and my name. "Ah, shit!" "CLEMENTINE!"
