For the basis of the story it's AU. Just a magical couple. Regina has a past regarding a relationship where as Emma doesn't!
Feeling her back press against the kitchen counter after a brief hello at the door of the Mayor's house, Emma grins shyly as Regina rests her hands flat against the counter either side of the blonde, trapping her before kissing her in a deep yet soft kiss. Kissing back, the sheriff relaxes back against the marble top then let's out a contented sigh as the brunette pulls back so that both could receive air. Smiling happily at the younger woman, the mayor pecks her lips once before speaking. "I love how I can make you feel just by one kiss.."
Letting out a small giggle as their faces are inches apart, Emma confesses with a teasing smile. "Not just by a kiss but other things too..like a kiss on the cheek.."
Complying to the statement, Regina raises an eyebrow with a playful stare then leans forward to kiss the blondes cheek.
"...and a touch of your hand.."
Instinctively reaching up, the brunette cups the sheriff's cheek in a loving gesture with a beaming smile.
"..and you know, holding me tight.."
Moving her hand away, the mayor leans closer while taking hold of the blonde by her waist and automatically wrapping her arms securely around the younger woman in a tight manner.
Gazing lovingly into Regina's eyes, Emma admits what she has been feeling for some time. "You make me feel safe..and loved..."
Capturing the blondes lips in another quick kiss, the brunette chuckles. "You my dear have no idea how much I love you.."
Frowning slightly while wrinkling her nose, the sheriff questions. "Why? Why do I have no idea on how much you love me?"
"Because.." Biting her lip briefly, the mayor decides to be honest. "When..it's a first love..like with me and Daniel..it's..it's all new and great and I will always love him in my own way but when you find your true love, there is just no contest.."
Inhaling sharply, Emma grows silent for a moment before responding. "How..how do you that I love you more than you know? Because I know that I do but, you know I have had a lot of trust issues and this is all new to me..how do you know that to me, you are my true love and not just my first? How can I show you?"
Taking hold of the worried blondes face within both her hands, Regina pecks her nose in comfort. "I just do. I know you love me..I don't need reassurance Emma..please don't fret over it..right now all we need to know is that you're here, I'm here and we love each other. We make each other happy and we will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.."

1 year later...
Coming up to stand behind the blonde, Regina wraps her arms around the younger woman in a tight hold then rests her chin upon the sheriff's shoulder, observing her as Emma watches the people mingling within the mayor's house. Decorated with balloons and a mountain of presents, the blonde smiles upon the brunette's touch then covers the former queens hands with her own while they are clasped against her stomach. Pecking Emma's cheek, the mayor then gestures to what is in front of them before whispering. "Right there..is why I know that I am as much of your true love as you are mine.."
Grinning, the sheriff squeezes Regina's hands while they continue to watch a small girl, just about to turn 1 sat on the rug in the living room with a group of wooden blocks in front of her as she attempts to stack them with concentration, before clapping with a giggle when she gets one balanced.
