"You are more resilient than expected." The Serval said as he stepped away from Adrian and sheathed his sword once again.

Adrian growled as he tried to push himself off the floor. The Serval was blindingly fast, his sword strikes were precise and sliced Adrian's armaments to pieces as if he was cutting through warm butter. Seriously, why was the Serval so good? How could he be losing so bad to someone who wasn't even a G.E.O.?

"I get that… a lot." Adrian grunted as he got to his feet. His healing hadn't slowed down thankfully but he was losing a lot of blood in this fight and not producing enough of it to compensate right now.

"Fast healing. Makes for dangerous fighters." The Serval said as he approached Adrian again. The fox quickly back stepped to gain distance but the feline was instantly upon him and delivered three consecutive slashes across his chest and stomach. "But only for a short while. Can't heal forever." He said as he sheathed the sword again.

Adrian was confused, what the hell was wrong with this guy? If Adrian got back up the Serval would attack until he was knocked to the ground again but every time he'd sheath the sword. Why wasn't he attacking while Adrian was down? It would make sense if the Serval wanted to stunt his healing. And his fighting style, wasn't there a sword style revolving around quick draw techniques? Iai or something? And what was with that speed? No, not just his speed, during their brief exchanges Adrian had managed to strike him a few times but it didn't look like he'd taken any damage. He had some kind of healing factor, obvious by a cut he'd placed on the bastards cheek early on in the fight that had healed by now but it wasn't anywhere near Adrian's level.

"Getting up is unwise." The Serval said as he turned back to Adrian who was preparing to get back up.

"Yeah? That so?" Adrian growled as he managed to get on his paws and knees. "Are you just going to wait till I get back up or are you going to finish me?" he said as he turned to the Serval.

"To follow the path of the warrior is to eventually fall face first on that same path. To be a warrior means that the more you travel down the path the more enemies you will find blocking it. To cut them down and progress is the way of the warrior. When you yourself are finally cut down it is only when you are on your feet and to fall forward with honor. To die on your knees or to be stabbed in the back is a most shameful way to die but even more shameful to the one whom delivers the death blow." The Serval said.

"I'll keep that in mind, after I've kicked your ass!" Adrian said as he fired off more bone shards and darted to the right.

The Serval instantly cut the shards down and followed the young fox's movements, he had already been shown that he was outclassed yet he kept fighting. Reckless youth seemed to be popular these days. As soon as the fox was in striking range he unsheathed his sword once again and struck him with four more strikes. As he began to sheath his sword he realized the strikes seemed dull but by the time he realized this he was too late, the fox had grabbed him from behind and was keeping his limbs restricted with armament tails.

"Tricky boy." The Serval said as he lowered his head, quickly bringing it back up to bash the fox's nose.

Adrian was momentarily dazed by the head-butt and unfortunately that was all his opponent had needed to break free and to strike him down with his sword again. But instead of cutting through like the other attacks Adrian had prepared a special surprise. He noted the Serval's shock as his katana became stuck in armament armour, glad he'd finally unnerved the bastard somewhat. But he wasn't going to waste the opportunity, grabbing the Serval's sword arm Adrian formed armament armour around his fist creating a gauntlet and began to repeatedly punch the Serval as hard as he could. The Serval was twisting his body and pulling back as much as he could, taking some of the force out of the punches but he was still taking damage regardless. If this wasn't going to work he was going to have to get tricky. Adrian feinted a punch and when the Serval went to twist his body he struck his left knee with a solid low kick instead. The Serval growled in pain as he finally became annoyed, he started to strike Adrian's armor in quick succession, eventually breaking off enough that he was able to easily free his sword before Adrian could react. Adrian tried to keep his grip but he was forced to let go and retreat as the Serval brought the blade down, nearly severing Adrian's paw.

'Ok he's faster than Ogre, stronger than dad and far more skilled than Shao Long. Do I have any options or hopes of winning here?' Adrian wondered as they each created distance from the other. It was starting to look a lot like the situation with Feral, he didn't have enough information on what this guy could do and he was guessing he probably still had more tricks up his sleeve.

Before Adrian could think of anymore tactics several canisters bounced across the floor on either side of him and quickly filled the room with smoke, as this happened someone grabbed the back of Adrian's shirt and pulled hard, dragging him out of the room.

By the time the smoke had cleared Adrian was gone. The Serval let out a tired breath as he once again sat down in his seat on the opposite side of the room. His orders were to capture, deter or eliminate on contact, not to pursue.

"Get the fuck off!" Adrian growled as he struggled against whoever had grabbed him, he finally managed to spin around and shove off the offending mammals arm.

"You're welcome by the way."

Adrian's vision went red as he glared hard at his supposed 'savior', fucking John. "I didn't ask for your fucking help! I was doing-"

"Oh do NOT even start that bullshit!" John snapped as he grabbed the front of Adrian's shirt and forced the fox muzzle to muzzle. "You weren't doing anywhere close to fine, you didn't have him where you wanted him, you were losing miserably! Motherfucker tore off chunks of your armor off with his bare paws, any longer and it would've been your still beating heart being torn out. Think you can save your girlfriend while your hearts regenerating? Or if it even could?"

Adrian shoved the offending cats paw and let out a low growl. As much as he fucking hated John he hated even more that the cat was right, he'd been that close to losing and probably dying. "Fuck you." John was right but he was never going to admit it.

"Yeah, yeah." John grumbled as he pressed his ear piece. "Hey, I found Snowfur's brat, we're heading your way, our estimate is five minutes."

"Who says I'm going with you?"

"Look at yourself, you're fucked up. You need energy boosters or your healing will go to shit. Either suck it up or I'm breaking your legs and dragging you, your choice."

Adrian wanted to argue, he really didn't want to listen to fucking John of all people but he really didn't have the luxury right now. Finding Casey was more important right now and he doubted he'd be able to do it messed up as he was.

"Done now? Good, lets move" John said as he led the way.

"Wait... Wait... NOW!" Zack shouted as he set off the charges. The sound of explosions and at least a dozen screams followed along with a brief shock wave. The makeshift bombs had done their job beautifully. Everyone quickly filed out of the office and done the hall, trying their hardest to avoid looking directly at the piles of gore and mangled bodies that resulted from the surprise explosives. Zack stopped at the corner and held his paw up for everyone to stay put. He pulled a small mirror out of his pocket and positioned it so he could look down the hall. The mirror was instantly shot out of Zack's paw and he cursed as more bullets followed.

"Shit fall back!" He ordered as they all retreated back to the office.

"Shit, I thought there was only a small squad!" Amanda said as she helped Cory and Max barricade the door.

"They probably had more waiting around the corner in case there was a trap." Max growled.

Shadow and Thomas were at the computers again and typing furiously. "Fuck!" Shadow screamed as he slammed his fists against the table. "They fucked with the surveillance, that's how they hid the second squad!"

"I thought you were the only one who had that kind of access" Zack pointed out.

"I WAS, but apparently my privileges have been revoked!" Shadow growled back as he tried to find a solution.

"Fuck I'm locked out too! I'm going to take a wild guess that Anna's access privileges are in the same boat." Thomas announced

"What!? Why the fuck are we being locked out now!?" Anna demanded.

"Alistair is probably monitoring the network right now, our traffic probably looked suspicious, either he's figured out we're trying to fuck him over or he thinks we're being held hostage" Thomas answered.

"Is there anything we can do? Do you have anything else we can use?" Rogue asked as he searched around the office.

"No, I have some electronics and such but nothing that we could use like the makeshift bombs." Thomas answered as he growled before something hit him. "Wait! I have an idea! You have Snowfur's contact info right?"

"Yeah, how's that going to help us right now?" Zack answered.

"He's on the upper floors, which means he'll be able to locate Alistair's computer, if he or his partner can locate the computer we can probably hack into it and lift the lock down!" Thomas answered as he and Shadow shared excited grins.

"Ok, there's one problem with that." Casey spoke up. "Uncle Jack and Auntie Sherry know shit all about hacking, they've got the basic understanding of computer usage."

"That won't be a problem." Shadow said as he pulled out a USB drive and connected it to the computer. "I keep a bunch of programs on this, including my own personal hacking software. I just need to tweek it, send it to Snowfur and all he'll need to do is hook up his phone to the computer, the program will automatically run. If this work the lock down will lift in fifteen minutes!"

"Yes! You fucking genius fox, I love you!" Anna shouted as she grabbed him and spun him around for a kiss."

"That's great but in the meantime we still need to hold off the guards that are inbound" Spottigans pointed out.

"Alright, we know the drill." Zack said as he pulled out his gun and checked his magazine, the other mercenaries following suit. "Grab the desk and anything else we aren't using to barricade the door, we'll use it for cover. If they break in or destroy the door we'll return fire. The entry is narrow enough that they'll only be able to fit a few in at a time."

Everyone followed Zack's instructions, with some mild protest from Thomas and Shadow as the cat and fox respectively tried saving the computers and some of the contents of the desk before letting them take it. They still needed to get the program running. they took Zack's phone in the meantime so they'd be able to send the file to Jack.

As they prepared a mild shock wave shook the door and the contents barricading it causing everyone to turn their attention. Another, more powerful shock wave followed a few moments later.

"The fuck?" Zack asked as he eyed the door. His ears twitched and his eyes widened. "EVERYONE DOWN!" Zack shouted as he grabbed Casey and threw her over the desk just as the barricade was blown apart.

"Now!" Sherry hissed as she and Jack burst from the broom closet, catching Steven off guard by the sudden appearance of the duo. Before he could react Jack threw one of Sherry's improv Molotov's, exploding in the wolf's face. As Steven screamed Sherry slid between his feet, quickly jumping onto Stevens back. As he thrashed, trying to shake Sherry and the flames off she wrapped a wire around Stevens neck and instantly dropped all of her weight.

Steven choked and thrashed around as he tried to grip the wire digging into his fur and flesh. Sherry wasn't giving him the chance too, along with her weight she had firmly planted her feet into his lower back giving her some added leverage.

Now that Steven was both blinded and preoccupied Jack created bone armament claws. As Jack rushed the wolf Sherry jumped off of his back just before Steven was impaled into the wall. Steven gasped and choked as he weakly tried to grip Jacks arm, but the cat merely responded by digging the claws in deeper before ripping them out.

Steven was steady for a moment before he slumped against the wall and slid to the ground. He let out a weak laugh. "This... won't keep me...down... I heal too.

"It'll keep you down for long enough." Jack responded as he grabbed Stevens wrists and shackled him with a pair of electric cuffs.

"Finish me then." Steven said.

"No."

"I'll come for you... again. No prison... can hold me." Steven growled.

"You think so? Iron-lock would beg to disagree." Jack said, referring to the main G.E.O. prison facility.

"You think they could hold me!?" Steven roared which caused the electric cuffs to hit him with a powerful shock. "I'll kill you Jack. I'll fucking kill you!" Steven growled, trying to shake off the electric surges that followed.

"Because of Jessica, right?" Jack asked. "You still think I was responsible for that?"

"Ogre came for you and killed her instead. I'm just finishing the job that should've happened."

Jack stared at Sherry and she nodded. She pulled out a carrot pen, that she'd borrowed from Judy. "You're aware Alistair order her to be killed right? You've been working with him for years, you obviously had to have figured that out by now." Jack stated.

"Fuck off." Steven growled. "You expect me to believe that shit? Why would he have any interest in killing a fucking kid?"

"He admitted it just before we saw you. You weren't listening in at all?" Jack asked.

This seemed to catch Steven off guard. No he hadn't been listening to the conversation. But in his mind there was no way, absolutely no reason that his boss, his savior would have had any part to play in Jessica's death.

Seeing the conflict in the wolf's eyes Sherry pressed the play button on the pen. "Tipping off the G.E.O.s to find you living with that senile old coot! The scapegoats necessary to pay Ogre to kill that little bitch that was keeping you from your greatness-" She stopped the recording there as she saw the horror in Stevens eyes.

"I'm sorry, Steven." Jack said as he gestured for Sherry to follow, leaving the shattered wolf where he sat.

"Think this is a good idea? just leaving him there?" Sherry asked.

"I doubt he's going anywhere, not after that." Jack answered. He found no joy in breaking this bit of news to Steven, surprised that the wolf hadn't discovered this bit of info sooner. Jack already figured that the whole thing had been twisted in Steven's mind and Alistair had taken advantage of it, making himself look as a savior, had he planned to use Steven from the beginning? Since the time Jessica died?

Considering how far ahead Alistair had thought into his plans he figured it was very likely.

"So what's the plan now?" Sherry asked.

"We find Alistair and detain him. If we have to fight we'll fight." Jack answered as they continued to march. They paused as Jack's phone went off. He shared a confused look with Sherry, they shouldn't be receiving calls, they specified in the meeting that they'd be sending encrypted texts. Even more suspicious the caller was Zack. Not knowing what to do Jack hesitated before answering the call.

"Zack? Wha-"

"No time for that!" Someone shouted from the other end, definitely not Zack. Even more concerning was the sounds of gunfire and screaming in the background

"Listen, this is Thomas, I'm one of the workers here. We're held up in my office in the underground labs. Shit has hit the fan. We have Casey and we're with Zack.

"Wait, what?! How did you-"

"No time to explain! Look the whole place is in lock down, we're sending you a program that can hack into Alistair's main computer. The one in his office. You just need to connect your phone and the program will automatically start up. Once the lock down is lifted we can get everyone out of here!"

"How can I trust you, where's Zack?" Jack demanded.

"What part of no time- AGH fucking shit!" Thomas yelled. "Look we're under heavy fire right now! I need to send this to you now before my computer gets caught in the crossfire."

Jack shared an uneasy look with Sherry. "What do you think?"

"I don't think they'd be faking it but just in case get Zack on the phone."

"I want Zack on the phone." Jack said.

"Did you Not just hear me-"

"I heard you but I don't trust you."

"FUCK fine!" Thomas shouted. they waited several long seconds before the heard a weak "ello?"

"Zack? Are you ok? What's going on?" Jack demanded.

The bunny let out a weak chuckle. "We're a little... fucked right now. I'm a bit rough but... I'll manage." He paused so let out a very nasty, wet sounding cough, as if he was coughing up blood.

"Zack are you ok?"

"Jack not the... time. We're fucked here. Take the damn file. End the... lock down so we... can get Casey out."

"Ok believe me now!?" Thomas said, apparently having taken the phone back.

"Yeah.. for now. Send us the file." Jack said.

"Already on it, remember. Alistair's office, main computer, hook up your phone. That's it, got it?"

"Yeah got it." Jack said just as the call ended. He almost thought maybe the call had been cut short because the phone had been destroyed or shit had gotten worse but then he saw that he'd received a file attachment a few seconds later.

"Think we can trust this? Jack asked as he turned to Sherry.

"I think we're going to need all the help we can get."

Casey couldn't focus, her ears were ringing, her head hurt, her vision was blurred. What the fuck had happened? She remembered her dad had thrown her over the desk and suddenly there had been a deafening explosion. She struggled to straighten herself but was forced back to the ground vaguely aware that someone was screaming something at her.

Finally she was able to focus enough to see that Anna was the one holding her down, her hearing slowly returned and was aware of gunfire. she looked around to see the officers and mercenaries taking whatever cover they could as they returned fire and armament shards. She saw Leaf and Rogue crowded around someone, trying to apply first aid from the looks of it.

"It's fine... stop fussing." Casey's heart stopped as she finally saw who the injured animal was.

"DAD!" She screamed as she scrambled from Anna's hold and pushed past the two canines. Her father was a horrid mess, his shirt had been ripped open showing the splintered wood sticking out of his chest and stomach, he was soaked in his own blood he looked weak and sickly pale.

"Hey baby bunny." Zack said weakly.

"Dad... no, no, no, no, no! Casey breathed as she fought back tears. She didn't know what to do but she had to do something!

Zack smiled as he grabbed the back of Casey's head and lightly bumped foreheads with her. "It's ok sweetie, it's ok."

"NO! This isn't ok! You're.. you!" Casey stammered as the words died in her throat.

Her father was going to die, they couldn't treat this here.

"I know Casey." Zack said as he shakily pulled out his smokes, lighting one with some difficulty, although he suddenly began hacking and coughing, extinguishing the cigarette with his own blood.

Zack knew he was going to die. There was no healing this, his organs had been pierced, the amount of blood meant an artery had been hit, he was pretty sure some of the wood had hit his heart. The only reason he hadn't bled to death yet was because they hadn't removed the shrapnel.

"Baby... baby bunny, listen." Zack whispered, just enough for Casey to hear. he tightened the grip he had on his daughters head. "Drink my blood."

"What!? No! I'm not-"

"Listen dammit!" Zack growled as he forced Casey to make eye contact. "I'm dying but I'm not letting it go to waste...I couldn't get you outta here... so I'm doing the next best thing... giving you a fighting chance. You hear me?"

Casey started crying, this wasn't ok none of this was right. Even still she nodded. Satisfied Zack released his grip and pulled his daughter in for a hug. "I'm sorry. You know that... right? I wanted to be there... I wanted to be in your life... I wanted to make things right with your mom."

Casey nodded as she cried into her fathers shoulder. Satisfied that he'd said all he could Zack closed his eyes and leaned his head against his daughter. There were worst ways to die.

Casey felt it, the moment her father stopped breathing, the moment his body went limp. Fuck, FUCK! This wasn't fair, she'd been angry at him for so long, she'd wanted him to be there for her. But now she'd never get that, her father was gone. They'd never have another chance to talk, to make amends to do anything!

She ground her teeth as the rage filled her, she felt her teeth changing into fangs. Without wasting another second she bite into her fathers neck with a sickening crunch. Blood exploded into her mouth and she drank it without a second thought.

Her father had given her his final gift. And she wasn't going to waste it.
