Epilogue
Chapter 24- 30 days
Five years later…
Author's POV:
'Silvia enterprises' has come to be one of the biggest and finest tech companies in the world, its products had done miracles in every field, whether it was business, or transport, or space, or education, infact anything one could think of. It had brought huge changes and taken the world to new heights and dimensions.
Presently the CEO of this epic tech giant was busy working on just another of his great inventions when his robotic assistant 'Robocom', interrupted him.
"Goku, sir, you are getting a call from Illiya's HOD." She said.
"Oh boy! What did this girl do now!" he exclaimed worriedly before he asked Robocom to turn on the call, and once she did that,
"Goku, Illiya has very badly beaten her classmate, Joseph. I want you to come here as soon as possible." the HOD laid out in a monotonous tone.
"Oh." Goku acknowledged,
"Okay sir, I would be reaching there in few minutes." He said, Robocom took the cue and turned off the call.
"I don't know what to do with this girl!" he exclaimed with irritation, and then left for Illiya's college in his flying space car, one of the products of Silvia Enterprises itself, there was no need of any driver for it, it was based on artificial intelligence and could drive on its own.
With its speed it just took him two minutes to reach the place.
Once into the HOD's room, the head drowned both Goku and Illiya in a one hour long lecture, stating how notorious Illiya was, and how the college was so fed of her doings.
"Am sorry Mr. Tracy, I will make sure she doesn't repeat it." Goku said.
"Better she doesn't." he exclaimed in a strict voice.
So with that Goku and Illiya left.
In the car, they both were silent for a while, Goku out of his anger at Illiya, while Illiya was feeling guilty. Sensing that Goku wasn't going to say anything soon, she decided to break the tense air between them by apologizing,
"Goku I am sorry." She said in a timid voice, excepting his wrath to break upon her anytime and that's what happened next,
"Illiya, it's the hundredth time I am getting your complaint that you have beaten the daylights out of some boy!" he shouted,
"But Goku, that moron had been after me since last one month, I told him to get lost but he won't give up on wooing me, it was getting on my nerves and so I served him right." She said with a huff.
"Yeah right," Goku rolled his eyes,
"Now listen kiddo, even you will fall in love with someone one day, and then you would realize how it is. Thus, you shouldn't be harsh if someone has feelings for you, just try to make them understand that you aren't interested in having anything with them, and it can be done calmly also." He said.
Illiya just made a face at that.
Goku raised an eyebrow at her,
"Okay, okay, I will try." She said,
Still his eyebrow was raised,
"Fine, I promise I won't do it again." She said with a sigh.
"That's my good kiddo." Goku smiled.
"Wanna grab some ice-cream!" he proposed as the car was passing by their favorite ice cream parlor.
"Yup!" Illiya hugged him happily. He laughed as he shuffled her hair playfully.
After having their favorite scoops they were finally off to home. Their once little house has now changed into a grand Bungalow.
Rin answered the door.
"Hey guys!" she greeted,
"Hey princess!" Goku greeted back, as they both hugged each other.
Illiya straightaway ran to her room, ready to resume her video game, 'The Conquerors'.
"Her energy never fades out." Rin amused.
"Yeah, today she again had beaten up some poor guy, the Hod had called me to account for the same." He told as he made his way to drawing room and draped himself down on the sofa. Rin took a seat beside him, cuddling into his embrace.
"Really? Well, I am sure he must have been trying to woo her." Rin laughed.
"Correct." Goku chuckled.
"Don't you think our Illiya just has too many guys after her." Rin amused.
"Well, instead of her pretty face they should focus on how dangerous she can be when she doesn't like it." Goku said and they both broke into laughter.
…
In the evening Goku sat on the projection attached to the window of his room. Infact in the last few years, sitting there and keep looking outside had become one of his favorite things to do in his free time. And what he saw infront of his eyes was not the spectacle of the garden outside but flash backs of his and Silvia's memories.
Five years had passed and he had tried a lot to find her but couldn't. They could never track her energy signal. Goku always used to wonder, as she promised whether she was ever going to come back or not.
Suddenly he felt a gust of wind at his shoulders, as if someone was there, he turned around but there was nothing, only the curtain of the window opposite to the one he was sitting on, was flapping to and forth. But then his eyes fell on the small stuff toy that was put at the corner of the window frame. It was Silvia's teddy bear!
His heart stopped.
How did that come there! He wondered.
Shakily he got up from his place and went to the other window, he picked the teddy up, eyeing it for a while before he dashed out of the window into the open air and flew away. His heart was suddenly yelling to him to go the lake and so he did it, as he reached there, he found a figure standing by the lake looking over it. Those Golden curls, that plain white shirt and black skirt…it was her!
As usual, as if feeling him around her, she turned her head upwards, and their eyes locked.
Oh, how much he has missed this happening between them!
Instantly he landed down.
Goku's POV:
It was too unbelievable and overwhelming that after so many years, when every hope of seeing her again had almost died in me, here she was, right infront of me, just at an arm's length away.
It seemed like a dream, too good to be true. For a moment we both just kept staring at each other, saying nothing, then,
"Hey!" she greeted with a smile.
And that did it! I reached out and engulfed her in my arms, hugging me back she buried her face in my chest.
"Silvia! You! Where were you since so many years! I thought you won't ever come back!" I exclaimed, a flood of emotions exploding through my heart.
"I promised I will come back." She said, pulling away a bit.
"And am sorry it took me so long, but I have had the time I needed. And now I feel really good, that's why I thought to come and meet you." She stated.
"Well, it's nice you made this decision, I can't tell how glad I am to see you!" Í exclaimed with joy.
She beamed at me.
"So, Goku, how is it going between you and Rin? She must be your wife now!" She exclaimed happily.
"No, we never married." I told her.
"What? Why!" she asked in bewilderment.
"Because on the night of our engagement…" I began,
Flashback
The night of Goku's and Rin's engagement
It was a huge hall, decorated so beautifully, filled with people, I and Rin stood on the podium, opposite to each other, I was just about to put the ring on her finger when she drew her hand back.
"Rin what happened?" I asked.
"Goku, do you think I am a fool. Do you think I won't ever understand it! When you told you loved me, I was on seventh sky, but gradually I began to see the lie in it. When you are with me, and when you are with Silvia, I can see the difference clearly. She was the one who was able to bring you out of the depression of your parents when no one else could, not even I could. When it was revealed she was a league to the initiator, we all had lost faith in her but you still had so much faith in her that you took the risk of letting her hurt you to death! Do you think I can't see it in your eyes when you look at her, you never have looked at me like that! It's not me whom you love but it's her!
You are doing this all for my happiness, isn't it! But you know what, no matter how much you try you won't ever be able to give me the happiness you want because for me it will always remain a pretense, the genuine love that originates from the depth of one's heart will always remain for her, and pretense can never match the actual genuine emotions.
After Lancer's attack when I had almost escaped death, I realized what our friendship meant to me, I accepted it then, that if you didn't love me romantically, it was fine, I have our friendship, which is so special! Goku, I am so lucky I have a friend like you, who is ready to sacrifice even his own feelings for me! But you do not need to do it, if you would marry me, you aren't going to do something great but you are just betraying me, and yourself! I thought may be at this point you would say the truth but when you didn't then I had to do it." she sobbed out.
Seeing her breaking like that I broke down too, I couldn't hold it any longer, all the guilt that had been simmering inside me since so long came out at once!
She was right, I was actually betraying her and myself! My heart lied with Silvia and I indeed felt, that no matter how hard I tried, I would never be able to love anyone else, the way I loved her.
"Rin am sorry! I wanted to give you all the happiness you deserve, I wanted to give you my true love, but I don't think I would ever be able to forget Silvia, I just can't help loving her! am sorry!" I cried.
Taking me into her arms,
"Stop it silly! There is no need to be sorry for feeling some emotions you don't have your control on. You don't need to forget her or anything, as I said, even I want you to go with the one you love, with the one with whom your happiness lies, as in your happiness lies my happiness!" she said.
"Oh Rin!" I exclaimed as I buried my face in the crook of her neck.
Everyone else was shocked but at the same time moved by the exchange that took place between me and Rin. And then the engagement was called off.
Flashback ends.
"And so, even today, we are just friends, the best of friends!" I finished.
Silvia kept gawking at me before yelling,
"Goku no! how could you! At that point you may have felt differently, but I am sure after your marriage, slowly you too would have developed real feelings for her. Why don't you understand Rin is the girl who deserves…."
But before she could complete I silenced her by putting my finger on her lips.
"Sssshh…even you deserve me. Silvia again and again, for Rin's sake, stop trying to kill your feelings for me. I too for her happiness, was doing the mistake of trying to sacrifice my feelings for you. But it's a foolish thing, that for someone else's happiness you try doing something which you won't ever be able to do, and thus ultimately you will get yourself and that person stuck in a situation which would be a never ending cycle of pain and grief.
Even Rin wants us two to be together. Infact, everyone does.
When I was a kid, and you suddenly disappeared from my life, I couldn't ever forget you. Then after so many years if I ever fell for a girl, it was Saber, which ultimately we came to know was none other but you only. And again after these five years, I say, my heart beats only for you. So, no matter how much time passes Silvia, and whether I get to be with you or not, I have always loved you and will love you forever. No one can take your place in my heart…." I wanted to say even more but Silvia cut me off by pressing her lips against mine.
Sparks ran through my entire body, and instantly engulfing her in my arms I began kissing her back. Finally, when we pulled apart we both had tears in our eyes.
"Am sorry Goku, I am so foolish, for Rin's sake I was just pushing myself and you towards doing things which would have caused unhappiness to all three of us. I realize my mistake now, and just want to say that even I love you so much, and from henceforth I won't ever leave you my love!" she exclaimed.
I couldn't express how happy I was hearing this from her! Picking her up I swirled her around, she laughed with joy, and then we both hugged, so comfortable to lie like that in each other's embrace for entire of our lives.
….
Few days later
Goku's POV:
St Paul's cathedral looked magnificent than ever, the walls and roofs decorated in, green and purple, my and Silvia's favorite colors. And there surrounded in the middle of the cheers of family and friends, were I and Silvia. In the lovely flowery white gown, she looked like an angel, a goddess from the heavens!
Silvia's POV:
I had never imagined this day coming in my life, but here I was, dressed in a beautiful white gown, and standing beside me was him, the love of my life, the boy of my dreams! When he naturally was so handsome that it could make any girl swoon, then now dressed in the white suit, he looked like an angel, a god from the heavens!
The priest began the ceremony, and after he had declared us husband and wife, the crowd cheered in happiness.
I and Goku were ecstatic! We couldn't stop smiling and looking into each other's eyes. It was the most beautiful moment of my life and I felt like suddenly I had become the luckiest girl to walk the earth.
"Congratulations!" Fujimura yelled as she engulfed both of us in a bone crushing hug.
"Thank you Fuji but please don't suffocate us to death.." Goku managed to say.
Everyone laughed.
As she released us, Sakura came and gave us a hug,
"I am so happy for you two, you make such a lovely couple!" she exclaimed.
"Yeah!" Rin exclaimed happily.
And Archer, well, he was just being Archer… I chuckled to myself.
Illiya, and Shirou cheered and clapped for us with others.
It was all so perfect!
One year later
Author's POV:
Many things had changed in this one year,
Let's start with Shirou, well, he had feelings for Silvia since the time he had first laid his eyes on her, when she had saved him from Lancer. But he never let his feelings got revealed because Silvia loved Goku irrevocably and thus he knew that her happiness lied with him only. On his part, Shirou thought he won't ever be able to move on from her, but finally a girl named, Amilia eves, came into his life. Amilia was a dentist by profession, and the first time when he met her, it was in her clinic itself, Shirou had got a tooth problem and had gone to visit her. Later, they coincidently met at a party, and that was the start of a friendship between them which kept on becoming stronger and stronger with time, and eventually they realized they had fallen in love with each other. And now within a few months they were going to get married.
Then, talking of Sakura, music had always been her passion, owing to which she joined a music arts academy where she got acquainted with James woods, her music instructor. They both were smitten by each other from the very first sight. Gradually their friendship flourished into love. And presently they were happily married, and worked as music instructors in the same academy.
Coming to Archer, our 'see if I care for anything' guy, did care for someone, and that someone was 'Rin'. Yes, he had feelings for her since he had known her, but as it was that she loved Goku, Archer was never able to open his heart to her. Though as the fate had it, when Goku and Rin's marriage couldn't happen, because of her discovering his feelings for Silvia, now Goku was married to Silvia, and all possibilities of him and Rin being together as soulmates were ruled out forever. Rin was left to bear a strong heart and be satisfied and happy in what she had of Goku, and that was his friendship which she considered as her most precious possession. Rin was very happy for Goku and Silvia, she knew Goku's happiness was in being with her, and that they both were made for each other. As for her, she had made up her mind to remain single for entire of her life, as it was that Goku was her first and last love. But Archer had other plans, he could not see a girl as wonderful as Rin, spending her life without a partner, she deserved to be cherished and loved. He realized that it was his chance, and he finally revealed his feelings to her. Rin was shocked by his confession, then it clicked her as to why Archer had always hated Goku with a passion, because he was jealous of him!
Anyways after discovering Archer's feelings, Rin kindly and politely asked him to try to move on from her, as her heart belonged to only one person, and that was Goku.
Archer was disappointed by this, but then he made the decision of making Rin fall in love with him no matter what, he was going to get her at any cost!
As days passed, Archer's attempts to woo Rin became so obvious and open that others too came to know of his feelings. Now though Archer was a rude, arrogant git who didn't get along with people, everyone knew that deep inside he was a very kind and good person. Seeing his dedication and love for Rin, everyone, even Goku, who personally didn't like Archer that much, too wanted them both to be together. Also, just because she couldn't have him, Goku didn't want his best friend to stay single forever, she obviously deserved a great life, and a wonderful partner.
So, gradually everyone got involved in helping Archer win Rin's heart. Though they didn't have much luck so far. Rin was just too stubborn. But they too had decided to make her move on. And who knew, may be some day they were going to succeed at it.
Okay, this was what, going on in Rin and Archer's life.
About Illiya, well, after kicking the butt of almost every other guy who was intent on wooing her, she finally had come across one, who had an ego and attitude as big as her. Christopher Ray was a very handsome youth, with jet black hair, brilliant blue eyes and a smile that made every girl's heart flutter. He was a new admission to the school and in a very short time, owing to his superb sport skills, he had made his place into the school's soccer team as its captain. Unlike other boys, he never seemed interested in Illiya, infact they both were sworn enemies. And unfortunately being in the same class, nor a single day passed when they didn't bicker over one thing or the other, to the extent that if they didn't had anything, they would find something to bicker upon. Yet there were days when, if one of them was absent, the other missed them as hell, now why it was so, they both didn't have any idea. Though their elders knew what was going on. From the way Christopher and Illiya couldn't live a day without complaining about the other being a jerk, and stating how much they despised each other, it was clear what they both were headed for. Obsessive hatred for someone was just another form of deep love, and it was just that they were too young to realize it. Anyways, they were going to realize it one day.
Finally coming to our lovely couple, Goku and Silvia, well, Silvia too had joined Goku's company and worked with him as his partner. Silvia was so overwhelmed when she came to know that he had named it after her. Being equally genius as him, now they both benefitted the world with their marvelous and amazing inventions. And whenever they got some free time they would go for adventures, or do some training, or go to martial arts tournaments. In short, they were living the life of their dreams!
Now what was going on with them currently, let's find out from them itself.
Goku's POV:
We couldn't believe that already a year had passed, it still seemed like yesterday when we two got married.
Anyways it was our first anniversary, and the entire day we were out celebrating at our all time favorite place, Paris! The beautiful memory, when years ago we both had come here for the first time on my birthday, came flooding back to my mind. Seeing Silvia a bit lost I knew she too was remembering the same. It had been a bliss for us then, and so it was now.
As the night came, we decided to head to another of our equally favorite place, the lake.
We kept sitting by it, saying nothing and just enjoying the soothing surrounding, the wind played with our hair, the calm, clear water, shone like some crystal under the beautiful light of the moon.
Suddenly Silvia lifted her head from my shoulder, and took out something from her pocket,
"That's so lovely!" I exclaimed in awe, looking at the cute little guitar shaped show piece, with 'Goku and Silvia' engraved on it.
"Happy anniversary love." She smiled at me.
"Oh my cute little muffin!" I exclaimed,
She giggled at my habit of calling her cute funny names,
"Thank you so much, it's such a beautiful present!" I beamed at her, she sighed happily and leaned into me.
"Didn't you get me anything?" she asked.
"Um, am sorry Silvia, but I was so busy in my work, I literally didn't get any time to go buy you a present." I replied with guilt in my voice.
"Hey it's okay teddy bear, no apology required. I only asked because the way you keep buying me presents so randomly even when there is no occasion, it's just a bit odd that you didn't get me one on our anniversary, and so it isn't like I am upset or anything, besides, I have you, I don't wish for anything else, you are my most precious gift from the heavens!" Silvia laid out looking deep into my eyes.
My heart surged at her words as I scooped her in my arms,
"Likewise, you are my most precious gift!" I exclaimed before kissing her forehead.
Cuddled into each other we both sat there for a little while more, I wanted the moment to froze in time but then we had to head back, as we were yet left to share the celebration of the happy occasion with others, and we knew they would be waiting for us.
So once we reached home and opened the door, the dark room got flooded with light, it was so beautifully decorated, and there in the center was a huge cake with 'Happy anniversary Goku and Silvia' written over it. Everyone stood around the table, yelling, Surprise!
We both laughed and joined them. Lots and lots of Hugs, thanks, laughs and well wishes were exchanged before I and Silvia cut the cake. The celebrations went on for another one hour before everyone decided to retire to bed.
We both were climbing the stairs to our room when I caught Silvia's hand making her stop.
"What?" she asked.
"Do you want to watch a movie with me?" I asked her.
"Now? No Goku, we had a big day, and now I am tired, I just wanna go and sleep." Silvia said.
"Please Silvia? Still one hour is left before it's twelve, and thus our anniversary isn't over yet, so you can't deny me anything I want." I pouted.
She rolled her eyes,
"Okay fine, you are so adorable that I would have given in even if it wasn't our anniversary." she chuckled before ruffling my hair lovingly.
"I love you!" I exclaimed happily as I dragged her to the drawing room.
"Make yourself comfortable!" I said excitedly as Silvia took her place on the sofa, and I beside her.
"What movie is it, that you are so excited about?" she asked curiously.
"You will know." I smiled at her as I switched on the video on the player.
As it began to unfold Silvia's eyes widened in surprise,
"These, these are our videos, our memories!" she exclaimed with awe,
"Yeah, happy anniversary love!" I said to her.
She turned to me, her eyes brimming with tears,
"Goku! I knew it, I knew it! as I said at the lake, it isn't possible that you won't get me anything on such a special day as our anniversary!" she exclaimed.
"Ofcourse, surprise!" I laid out in a sing sang voice, she flung herself in my arms,
"This is so beautiful! A video of all the wonderful times we had together, this is the best present I could ever get!" she laid out happily,
"I am glad you like it." I exclaimed.
"I love it!" she exclaimed.
As the video played on, she would laugh on the funny incidents that happened, while get emotional over the heart touching and sweet ones, it seemed as if she was living those moments again through the video, she was just too adorable.
"Goku," she suddenly spoke in a soft voice,
"Yeah," I answered, stroking her silky blonde hair.
"Remember the time, during the Grail war.." she began,
I looked at her bewildered, as in the midst of watching memories of all our good times, how did something like the Grail war came up in her mind, I wondered, but yet nodded at her.
"Those thirty days were though one of the worst days of my life, but at the same time those were the days when I learned the most valuable things like friendship, sacrifice and love. Living with you people I got to know what it's like to have friends and family, who love you to death, I learnt to laugh again, infact in those thirty days I got back whatever Kotomine had taken away from me. Not to mention you played the main part in making it happen. Though those were dark times, the hardships just made us grow closer as we all stood by each other fighting against them." She said,
I sighed,
"Indeed, we all learned the most valuable lessons of life in those thirty days. They were a huge turning point in the life of us all." I said thoughtfully, agreeing with her.
"And most importantly through whatever happened, I got you, and that's the best thing that ever happened to me." she said interlinking her soft fingers with mine and burying her head deeper into my jacket.
I smiled as I kissed her forehead, she once again got lost in the lovely video of our memories getting played infront of her. As the video reached it's end, her eyes drifted close, a wide cute smile adored her lovely face, and she instantly fell asleep.
"Sleep well, my lovely angel." I whispered, before I too drifted off to sleep, my head falling over hers.
….
Author's POV:
Goku had forgot to close the player and had fallen asleep. As he and Silvia lay over the sofa cuddled, and dreaming about each other, the ended video had come to halt, displaying a picture of them, in which they were at some beach, Goku had his arms circled around Silvia's waist, as he was hugging her from behind, they both looked so happy in just being with each other.
At the bottom corner of the pic, it was written in bold letters,
Life couldn't be any happier!
