Chapter Nine: Worthless

Daniel knew he should have stayed quiet but he couldn't.

He's faced his face share of bullies and he's learned what happened when they continued to get their way without facing any consequences or repercussions for their actions.

That's why he knew he had to step in once Ali threatened Freddy. He couldn't just stand back and let it continue on when he could stop it.

"I'm his soulmate." Daniel blurted out.

The hallway went quiet.

Everyone went quiet even the teachers socializing between their classes. No one knew what to say as Daniel LaRusso's words rang through the hallway fully.

"What. Did. You. Just. Say. LaRusso."

"He said nothing Ali. It's been a long day let's all just—"

"Shut the fuck up!" Ali shrieks as she successfully cut Freddy off. The once sweet looking girl looked livid as she focused all her attention on Daniel LaRusso. "Now repeat what you just said to me."

"I'm his soulmate. I'm Johnny Lawrence's soulmate."

"So are you going to talk to him or just mope around?" Jimmy asked as he leaned against the locker beside Johnny's open one.

"I liked you better when you didn't talk a lot." Johnny muttered as he slid in the correct books before taking out his and Dutch's chemistry textbooks.

"Shut up Johnny beside we all know he does has point." Bobby added.

Johnny glanced towards his two more quieter friends before sharing a look with Dutch. The two dirty blondes nodded how closely Bobby was lingering behind Jimmy also as if he was protecting the man's behind.

"I don't care if—"

"Shut the fuck up!"

The group fell quiet just as Johnny's sentenced stooped as the familiar shriek of Ali Mills filled the hallway.

"God does that bitch ever shut the fuck up." Dutch complained loudly.

"I don't know nor do I care but let's go see what or who pissed her off yet again." Tommy added.

"Or we can go to class like we're suppose too." Jimmy muttered quietly knowing the others wouldn't listen to him even if he spoke loud.

"Let's just go see and then we'll head to class." Johnny stayed firmly.

Daniel waited for Ali to say something, well anything but the girl simply looked at him.

"I know that you might—"

"Mhmm. I would have thought that you would've been at least an threat but your not."

"What?"

Ali smirked as she moved closer until she was practically whispering in Daniel's ear. Her eyes focused on Freddy as he was pinned by the cruel stare in her eyes.

"Listen yo and listen up good faggot. Johnny might be your soulmate but are you really his. I mean I've been here first day one and you haven't. I've been Johnny first everything and you know what they say about your first." Ali finished with a proud look on her face as she stated to walk away.

"Johnny!"

Daniel felt his like vomiting because Ali was right. His was soulmate but that was it. He's wasn't there when Johnny had his first kiss, or his first real date or even his first time.

Ali was and that's something he could never get back.

"Daniel—"

Johnny didn't bother listening to the muttering about the scene Ali was making because he knew it all to well already. The girl had probably stopped the first person she believed to be his soulmate and started to harass them.

"God I hope she's making a fool out of herself. I need a good laugh after that class."

"Shut up Dutch."

"Uhh Johnny why is Ali whispering into Daniel's ear like that."

"What!" Johnny snapped his head towards Ali who was staring at Freddy instead of focusing on anything else around as she whispered into Daniel's ear. Johnny watched as the girl slowly pulled away from Daniel with a cruel smile before spotting him.

"Johnny!"

Johnny ignored the girl as he moved until he was close enough to Daniel without touching him.

"Daniel—"

Daniel snapped out his mind as Johnny's voice rang in his eardrums. Without thinking Daniel took a step backwards away from Johnny until he was pressed against Freddy.

"Daniel what—"

"Don't ever talk to me again, Lawrence. Come on Freddy we have to get to class." Daniel felt his heart clench at the shocked look before it turned defeated onto Johnny's face but he made no move to correct his words.

Since Johnny broke their connection Daniel told himself that he would win Johnny back. He would fix his soulmate bond so it never leave his heart aching again but he couldn't.

Not when he couldn't even be part of the key moments in Johnny's life.

Ali already took those spots from him and he refused to place second.
