Burt and Carole are quietly watching some TV when they hear it. It's not noticeable at first but soon voices are raised to the point that the whole neighbourhood knows what's going on.
Kurt and Blaine are fighting.
Carole looks over at Burt strangely, not used to the noise, "It's not like them to fight..."
Which is true.
"All couples fight at some point, I guess," Burt says, though his voice lacks conviction. It really wasn't like them two to fight. Sure they bicker,
But fight and tell? No.
Kurt and Blaine have been together for 4 months now, and although it may be surprising that they've yet to get into a screaming match, (especially Kurt), it still shocks both Carole and but because they've seen them.
They've watched how fluid and loving they are as a couple. Always in tune with the other and never stepping out of line in fear of hurting or damaging their relationship.
They nurture it.
It's something you only see with seasoned couples, people who've been together for years.
But Kurt and Blaine were always the exception.
So of course Burt and Carole were quite concerned, when the raised voices continued to argue.
"What is with you today?" Blaine asks incredulously.
Kurt, who was currently sulking at the other side of his room, turns round, "What? I can't have a bad day every once in a while?"
"I didn't say that! All I asked for was a hug and you blew up in my face!"
"Well maybe I don't want a hug Blaine. Maybe I want to be left alone!" Kurt knew he was getting ridiculous, especially since his voice was reaching that screechy high pitched level.
But still.
It's the principle.
"Fine! If that's what you want, then I'll leave!" Blaine didn't want to go but Kurt was really pushing his limit today. As much as he wanted to say and resolve this, it was a matter of principle.
"Fine! Take what's yours, and GO!"
Kurt is now standing at his bedroom door, holding it open and gesturing for him to leave. Blaine looks at home one last time before he finally makes his way to the door.
Just as Kurt was about to satisfyingly smirk in victory, Blaine stops in front of him, bends slightly and grabs the backs of his thighs.
"Blaine wha-?"
All of a sudden Kurt is securely locked in a fireman's lift over Blaine's shoulder and is carefully being carried down the Hudmel family stairs.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm taking what's mine."
They pass the living room where Kurt's parents are watching the pair in amusement. "Burt. Carole," Blaine regards them calmly in passing, emitting a small wave and a polite smile.
He opens the front door, closing it behind him as he makes it onto the front porch, where he gracefully drops his boyfriend down.
His boyfriend, who currently has a a cute smile on his face, "You're an idiot."
Blaine just wraps his arms securely around his waist, as Kurt loops his own arms around Blaine's neck, and rolls his eyes fondly as he says, "You're an idiot."
"But I'm your idiot."
Fin.
