A/N: It has been far too long since I last updated this story. And with the passing of Stan Lee, I owe it to all Marvel fans out there who have been reading this to keep it going as best I can.
So without any more delays, Along Came a Spider is officially back on active status!

The heroes had cross the city limits when Stark's voice came over their comm units; 'What's the plan guys?'
"We got three targets, best chance we have at taking them down and keeping the civilians safe is to split up." said Steve from within the chopper. "Stark, Kara and I can handle Bane. Clint, you and Natasha go after Deadshot and try to keep the police from taking any more hits."
"That leaves pyro-boy to me and Pete." said Matt, flashing his mentor a thumbs up. "We gotta be careful, if Slade's calling the shots he could be watching us from anywhere."
'We'll keep a lookout from our end.' Hank spoke over the line, 'We'll update you when anything becomes available. Good luck out there team.'
It took a few minutes before they reached the drop off point. The heroes disembarking with the DEO agents and heading to their waiting opponents.

Firefly sent another jet of flames from his weapon at a parked car, the white sedan exploding when the intense heat melted through the metal and lit up the gas-tank. The madman laughing loudly when flaming debris flew everywhere and people ran screaming.
"Haa, I love the smell of fresh napalm in the afternoon." the pyromaniac chuckled as he flew to another end of the park-
A pair of feet coming down and slamming into his back, sending him pitching to the ground where he flipped over at the last minute to stay in the air. His one exposed eye narrowing when he saw Spyderman land on the ground below him.
"Well, well. Looks like spider-freak's come for another roasting." Firefly goaded, bringing up his flamethrower.
Matt stood up and crossed his arms, "The only one getting roasted today is you. And to be sure of that, an old friend came around to lend a hand."
The villain couldn't comment when he heard what sounded like swinging. Spinning in the air, a red and blue blur slammed him in the chest and send him crashing to the ground.
Peter flipped from the webline he had swung in on and landed beside Matt, "Cool suit. I take it you save a fortune in heating during the winter, right?"
"What the hell?!" Firefly said in bewilderment as he looked between the heroes. "There are TWO of you?!"
Matt clapped his hands, "Congrats Garfield, you know how to count. Allow me to introduce my friend and mentor; the original Spiderman."
"Why thank you, Spyderman, It's nice to get a good introduction every so often." Peter said with a short bow to his young friend.
"Of course, Spiderman. It just wouldn't be proper without at least telling folks where I learned the business from." replied the younger hero.
"Why, Spyderman I am flattered." Peter added, continuing their back and forth.
"Just giving credit where credit is due. You are the Spider-MAN!"
"ENOUGH!" Firefly roared, launching into the air, "It don't matter if there is one Spiderman, two or even a dozen! I'LL BURN ALL OF YOU TO DUST!"
Matt and Peter crouched and prepared to fight, "I think we made him a bit hot-under the collar, wouldn't you agree?" the veteran hero quipped.
"Yeah, someone really needs to chill out." the second generation Spiderman added as the villain roared and blasted toward them.

Several blocks away, Bane stomped his way down the long street toward National City General Hospital. The venom enhanced villain cracking his large knuckles loudly in preparation for the fight that would surely be coming his way.
He wasn't quite sold on Slade's plans for the spider, but after seeing the hero in action Bane couldn't help but want to test his strength against him. Getting paid for breaking him just made the assignment that more satisfying.
"Stop!" A feminine voice called out.
Bane paused and looked over his shoulder to see Supergirl hovering above the street several meters behind him.
"Ah, Supergirl." the mountain of muscle rumbled with his Spanish-accent as he turned to face her. "Where is your little spider friend? Too afraid to face me himself?"
"He's busy, so I thought I'd deal with you myself." Kara stated as her feet touched the ground and prepared herself.
Bane chuckled, "You are strong, but are you stronger than me, Niñita?"
The blonde heroine smirked, "Why don't you find out?"
The villain charged forward, the ground shaking with each thunderous step as he closed the gap between him and Kara. Just as he raised a fist to slam down on to her smaller form, something large an circular slammed into the side of his face, sending him staggering to the side.
Shaking off the hit, Bane turned to see the object that hit him was a large red, white and blue shield that was caught by a man in an outfit just as color themed. "Sorry to say, but the lady won't be having all the fun." he said in a calm, strong tone.
"Another new face." Bane said standing to his full height, "Another body to break." He had barely finished speaking when a pair of blue beams struck him in the back and sent him skidding across the street and into the side of a building.
"Jeez, what does this guy use for a workout regiment? P9,000,000X?" quipped Tony as he landed between Steve and Kara.
Pulling himself up, Bane looked at the three heroes and started chuckling, "Three against one...that's good." he slammed his fist over the large switch at the center of the harness on his chest, venom began pumping through the hoses connected throughout his body and into his system. The villain growled as his muscle mass expanded, green veins spreading along his flesh as he grew larger and stronger.
Tony and Steve both couldn't help but compare him to the Hulk.
"Ahhhhhhh..." Bane breathed out as the venom settled and he towered over them, "You will need all the help you can get."

Deadshot looked through the scope of his rifle, taking stock of the remaining police officers on the street below as they tried to regroup.
It would be so easy to take them all out with one shot, from where he was he could pull it off. But it wasn't about killing cops, it was about collecting his payment for the spider. And if there was one thing the assassin was good at, it was hitting his mark.
Seeing another officer stick his head out of cover, he locked the crosshairs of his weapon over them and brought his finger to the trigger-
The rifle jerked left suddenly, nearly being taken from his hands from an unknown impact. Bringing his weapon up, Deadshot found and arrow piercing through the firing chamber. Making it effectively useless.
"Kinda cheating if you just use a gun." the assassin looked to the other side of the rooftop and saw a man in dark clothes wielding a bow standing there with another arrow knocked and ready. "Then again, not everyone is gifted."
Deadshot tossed his damaged rifle aside and faced the archer, "And you got a lot of balls interfering with my contract." he replied, raising his arms where his gauntlet barrels were aimed straight ahead. "Don't matter, you won't be a problem much longer."
Clint smirked, "I wouldn't bet on that."
Movement behind him had the precision hitman spinning around only to get a heel kick to the face. Staggering back, he narrowly missed a knife swing as the red-headed woman that had snuck up on him stood at the ready.
Gun-gauntlet aimed in either direction, Deadshot stood in a loose triangle with the two other master assassins. All of them waiting for the other to make the first move.

Firefly bellowed a laundry list of expletives as he burned another layer of webbing from his suit. One spider-hero was annoying, having two of them constantly gunking up his jetpack and flamethrower was rage inducing.
The two spidermen had kept the pyro-maniac sealed off in the very center of the park, whenever he would try and move farther out or away one or the other would cut him off and herd him back to the center, affectively cutting him off from civilians and from escaping.
Matt lept and twisted in the air, avoiding another jet of flame that scorched the grass where he had been standing. A pair of weblines shot forward and attached to the villain, keeping him in place and allowing Peter to come in and latch onto his back.
"Hey! Get off!" Firefly shouted, shaking back and forth to dislodge the older hero.
"Sorry, but this is a no-fly-zone." Peter quipped back, ripping off a panel on the man's jetpack and tearing out several wires.
The thrusters on the jetpack sputtered before shutting down. The veteran Spiderman jumped off, allowing Matt to pull hard on the weblines and send the pyro-maniac crashing to the ground. Damaging the already crippled equipment and grounding him.
Staggering to his feet, Firefly looked over his shoulder at his wrecked jetpack before centering a heated glare on the two heroes. "I ain't done, freaks." he hissed, pulling out several incinerator grenades that he threw at the duo.
Matt and Peter fired weblines, grabbing the explosives and catapulting them into the air where they detonated safely. The arsonist brought his flame thrower to bare only for webbing from the older hero to clog the barrel, a second later the younger Spiderman delivered a hard double-heel kick to his midsection and sent him skidding across the dirt.
"It's over, Lynns." said Matt as he and his mentor came up on either side of Firefly. The younger hero grabbing him by the front of his armor and bringing him up to eye-level. "Where's your boss?"
The arsonist chuckled, "Don't worry, spider-freak. Slade wants ya, he'll find ya."
Narrowing his eyes, Matt tossed the villain to the ground before webbing him there. "Chief, Firefly's down at our location." he said through his earpiece.
'Copy, sending a capture team now.' replied Hank.
"How are the others holding up?" asked Peter through his own earpiece.

Arrows and bullets flew through the air from different directions, Natasha and Clint moved with precision that proved their skillsets as they avoided the rounds fired from Deadshot's wrist-guns. Both assassins learned quickly that the man wasn't a novice, his shots were sniper-level precise, some even ricocheting off walls and narrowly getting them in their flanks.
Clint rolled behind an AC unit on the rooftop, his metal cover being peppered with rounds as he drew another arrow from his quiver and fired it at the hitman.
Deadshot ducked left to avoid the projectile, getting behind his own cover when Natasha fired her own guns at him. Taking a deep breath, he reloaded his weapons and aimed at the wall in front of him, the scope over his eye marking the trajectory of the rounds before he fired several times.
The bullets hit the surface and rebounded off. Both SHIELD agents were forced into cover as the rounds flew around them. Clint tapped the controls on his bow, causing his quiver to cycle through arrow heads and secure the one he needed on the next arrow he drew and knocked.
Looking toward Natasha they shared a knowing look before they went in different directions. The archer kept his bow at the ready, being sure to avoid stray rounds as he closed in on Deadshot's location.
Deadshot stood up, searching for the two assassins just when he saw something move in his peripheral. Spinning on his heel, he managed to block a wide kick from Natasha. The Black Widow began delivering a series of punches and kicks, forcing the hitman on the defensive.
Clint came up and took aim, watching his partner keep Deadshot distracted and waiting for the right moment.
Ducking under a wide punch Natasha sent a solid kick to the mercenary's stomach. Sending a quick look at the archer before covering her eyes.
Hawkeye fired the arrow, sending it into the wall beside him, drawing Deadshot's gaze for just a moment before it exploded with a blast of sound and light. The hitman cried out in surprise and pain as he was blinded by the flashbang in arrow form.
Disoriented, he didn't see the Black Widow come up from behind, taking him off his feet and driving her fist into his neck where her hidden shock-gauntlet activated. The hitman shuttered before going still, knocked out.
"This is Romanoff, target is down." Natasha said into her earpiece while Clint releaved Deadshot of his weapons.
'Capture team enroute, good work you two.' Alex's voice came over the line. 'Both web-heads took down Firefly, all that's left is Bane.'

Kara brought her arms up, blocking the massive fist that came down, forcing her to one knee and cracking the pavement under her.
Gnashing her teeth, the heroine pushed back with all her strength and sending Bane back several steps, right into Steve who delivered a hard punch to the side of the larger man's face.
Bane cracked his neck and charged the super soldier, bringing his fist back and delivering a hard punch that was blocked by the man's red, white and blue shield. The near invincible metal withstood the impact, but the one behind it was sent skidding across the asphalt.
A pair of blue beams shot down from the sky, hitting the venom-infused villain in the back. Forcing him to turn around and bring up his arms to protect his head as Tony flew down raining repulsor blasts down on him.
Growling, Bane bent down and ripped up a chunk of the street and hurled it at the billionaire who blasted it to pieces. In retaliation, several compartments opened up along Tony's armor, each one producing a series of small missiles that all locked onto the large target in his sights.
The salvo was released on silent command, the small projectiles screaming on their path before hitting Bane with a series of explosions that rocked the small city block.
Touching down in street level, Tony looked on as the dust settled before Bane stepped out into the open with only a few burns and scrapes.
"Is that the best you can do, Metal Man?" the former luchador called out.
"Not even close, Tiny." the billionaire replied, the arc reactor in the center of his chest glowing brightly before a massive blast of energy shot forward. The large villain didn't have a chance to prepare himself as he was struck with the full force of Iron Man's unibeam, being sent flying down the street, through several vehicles and crashing hard against the side of a dump truck.
Kara came and landed next to Tony as his suit finished powering down. "What was that?" she asked, surprised at the power that had been released in one attack.
"Unibeam. By rerouting most of my suits power to the arc reactor, I can fire a blast that could level most buildings. Though I held back just a bit so that Mr. Universe down there didn't get fried too bad." answered the veteran hero.
"I don't think you used enough." stated Steve, pointing toward Bane where the man was pulling himself out of the truck he had been blown into.
The villain growled as he slammed his fist over the switch on his harness, injecting more venom into his veins and making him stronger.
"Force isn't going to work, we need to bring him down unconventionally." the super soldier said as they prepared for another round.
"I'm open for suggestions." Tony added while powering up his suit's weapons.
Kara focused on their opponent, her vision enhancing as she looked him over for a weakness. Her blue eyes locking onto the tubes filled with venom and mentally kicked herself for not thinking of it sooner. "The harness, his venom supply. If we cut it it'll weaken him." she said to the other two heroes.
"Miss. Zor-El is right, sir." Jarvis said in Tony's ear, his HUD marking the harness and tubes strapped to Bane. "Cutting off Bane's venom supply will make him vulnerable. But I would advise not getting too close."
The villain roared and ran toward the trio, the ground shaking with the impact of his footsteps as he closed the distance.
Kara shot forward, delivering a thunderous uppercut that snapped Bane's head back and stopping his charge mid-stride. Steve capitalized by throwing his shield at the villain, missing his head and instead slicing through one of the tubes over his left shoulder. The glowing green substance within spraying from the damaged hose.
"What? NO!" Bane bellowed in alarm when he saw what had happened.
"What's the matter? Forget to get a prescription refill?" Tony quipped as he fired a precise repulsor beam that burned through another hose. The loss of venom having already having an affect as his muscle mass began to shrink.
With the villain now vulnerable, Kara zoomed in and started landing hard left and right hooks that hit home. The problem was that Bane still had plenty of venom in his system, this being proven as he grabbed one of her fists in his larger one and slammed her into the street behind him.
Tony came in next, latching onto the man's back and started dismantling his harness.
Bane struggled, reaching over his shoulder and grabbing the armored avenger by the head and yank him off. "I'll crush you like tin can!" the villain roared as he wrapped his massive arms around Tony and started to squeeze.
Armor creaking from the pressure being applied, Tony was quick to think of a plan and executed it. "Flares!"
A pair of panels opened up on the suits legs, sending out a volley of bright flashes that blinded Bane, forcing him to release the billionaire and cover his eyes. Tony gathered energy to his fist and slammed it hard into the villain's face, Steve appearing out of nowhere and smashing his shield against the back of his head and sending him face-down to the asphalt.
Bane attempted to get up, but the strain from the fight coupled with the venom no longer being pumped through him only granted a second or two before he collapsed again. The two veteran heroes forced his arms behind his back while Kara came over with a street lamp she had pulled out, using her strength to bend the metal around his wrists and binding them.
"We got Bane." Kara said into her earpiece.
'Copy that, Supergirl.' Hank responded as several black SUVs pulled up and DEO agents stepped out to secure the area. A dozen of them loading Bane into the back of a large armored truck.
"Guess we missed one hell of a party." said Matt as he and Peter dropped down with the others while Clint and Natasha arrived in an SUV with the agents. "What happened to the suit, Stark?" the young hero asked while motioning to the dents on the man's armor.
"Tiny over there thought I needed a hug." Tony replied, "But I told him I'm already spoken for."
Kara looked around them and took notice of all the people that were now out, phones in hand as they cheered for the group of heroes that had protected them. "Don't look now, but you guys are probably going to be very popular."
The Avengers took notice of the crowds as well, "It's not new to us, Supergirl. But its worth it if it meant protecting them." said Steve as he and the others waved.

In his hide out, Slade slammed his fist on the table where he had been watching the video feeds. Bane, Firefly and Deadshot were supposed to be more than a match for the two heroes, but he didn't anticipate the arrival of several others to even the score. And now with the three of them captured, he couldn't continue with his original plan.
Sitting back in a chair, Slade began to think over his next move. "You're full of surprises, aren't you?" he said to the screen that showed Spyderman, Supergirl and the other heroes together. "Let's see how long that holds out when we meet again."

At the DEO, the heroes all gathered together in the op center where Hank was debriefing them.
"Excellent work out there, all of you. You saved a lot of live today." said the Director as he addressed the older heroes. "On behalf of National City, and the DEO, I just wanted to say thank you for all your help."
"It's all part of the job, Director." said Steve, shaking the man's hand. "We were happy to help."
Alex walked up to the table, "Those three are being shipped back to Gotham as we speak. Commissioner Gordon of the GCPD sends his regards and his thanks."
"Any information on Deathstroke?" asked Matt.
Hank shook his head, "None of the three you caught were talking, safe to say none of them were expecting additional heroes to be in the city. Slade's most likely gone to ground for the same reason. But we'll have to keep a sharp eye out incase he shows his face."
"We'll be ready for him when he does." said Kara.
"And you can count on us to lend a hand if you need it." said Peter, "Stark said he's already in the process of forging a bridge between our dimensions."
"Already done, Pete." said Tony as he came into the op center with a grin. "I had Jarvis keeping tabs on our location since we arrived here and transmitting the signals back to our dimension. Banner just sent a message through the link saying he's got a lock." the billionaire produced a sphere-shaped device the size of a baseball with several glowing components along the outside. "One flip of the switch, and we're back home before dinner. Bridging a gap between worlds in the process."
"It would also give us a chance to make contact with another world and offer a chance for trading between the two." offered Hank.
"We'll talk with Fury when we get back, pretty sure he would be open to the idea." said Natasha.
Matt and Kara shared a look, "I was hoping to show Kara around my old home, guess this all works out well." said the spider-hero.
"Well it's ready whenever we are. Just need a safe space to activate the bridge." said Tony, Alex motioned for him to follow as she led him to a spare training room that could be used as a staging area.
The blonde Kryptonian turned to her mate and squeezed his hand with her own. Even after all the fighting they had done that day, she was beyond excited to see the world Matt had come from. And from the feelings she was getting through their bond and the smile on his face the feeling was mutual.
Peter watched the exchange and smiled as well, he had a feeling MJ and Aunt May would love to meet Kara. Along with everyone else who had considered the young hero as family.
He just hoped their world was ready of a heroine from not only another dimension, but from another planet as well...

A/N: Three villains down, but Slade's still in the wind. Until then, however, Kara's about to make her debut in the Marvel-verse. Let's just hope the villains there are ready for the young Kryptonian when she comes to town.
I'll try to update soon, stay tuned folks!
