"Marinette, what are you doing?" Tikki asked as she hovered over the girl's shoulder. In front of her was a brown terracotta pot that had been painted with puppies and kittens and all sorts of insects, but especially ladybugs. Dirt scattered the balcony the two were on, though most of it was in the pot. Marinette also had a pack of seeds in her hand and she was making little holes in the dirt.

"I'm planting lavender," Marinette explained. "It's really good for sleep and relaxing, and with exams coming up in a couple of months, I'll need all the relaxing I can have!" she said with a giggle. Tikki plopped down in the pot after the seeds were planted, staring up at her charge with big puppy-dog eyes. Marinette laughed as she dusted off her hands, "It'll take a while for the plants to grow, Tikki!"

"I wouldn't have thought you were a gardener, Marinette!" Tikki said as the girl lifted the pot and started to head back down into her room.

Marinette set the pot on her desk near a window. "I'm not much of one, but sometimes it's fun," she explained. "Now, get up unless you want to be watered, too!"

It had been a month since Marinette planted her lavender flowers. The smell took over her room and everything in it, not that the girl minded. It was relaxing and soothing to walk in and smell the plants.

Tikki enjoyed the plants, too. She made it her personal mission to water them and trim away the dying buds. The kwami took great pride in the purple bush of flowers, honestly. Who knew that gardening would be so much fun!

Of course, Marinette thought it was cute. Her kwami was so delicate and careful with the plants, it was endearing. They'd both bonded over the flowers and Marinette had introduced the kwami to lavender tea, which apparently went well with cookies.

But, when she couldn't find the kwami one day, that sent a panic through her. Alya had just left, so Marinette was going to work on a new skirt design she'd doodled during class. When she couldn't find the kwami in her usual place behind her supplies case, she went on red-alert. "Tikki, where are you?" Marinette called.

She dropped to her knees and searched the totes and boxes stacked under her desk. She checked under her chaise and her bed, under and on her dresser, just everywhere! Tikki was nowhere to be found!

"Tikki!" Marinette yelled desperately. She spun around the room and glanced at every place the kwami could have disappeared. Where was she?! "Tikki, please be OK!" she cried, fear present in her concern for the kwami. She was so small, what if a bird had snatched her? What if someone had stolen her? What if Hawk Moth had captured her?! "Tikkiiiii!"

"Marinette, what's the matter?" Tikki's voice suddenly came through. She sounded sleepy, which caught the girl off guard. Marinette spun around to face her desk, where the kwami sat in the middle of the lavender, gently rubbing her tired eyes.

"There you are!" Marinette sighed and pulled herself to the desk. "I couldn't find you!" she giggled and scooped the kwami up into a hug.

Tikki giggled and yawned. "You worry too much, Marinette!"

"Well you'd worry too if you couldn't find me and didn't know where I could possibly be," Marinette defended. She set Tikki down on the desk and rubbed the top of her head affectionately. "Why were you even in there, anyway?" the girl had to ask.

"Well, it smelled really nice, and I was sleepy sooo…" Tikki drew out the last syllable, figuring it was self-explanatory.

Marinette snickered, "I think the lavender helps us sleep a little too well." The two laughed and worked on Marinette's design before deciding naps would be nice for the both of them.

I feel like Tikki would be very attracted to flowers, given that she is based on ladybugs.
