Jason

Jason knocked on the Aphrodite cabin's door, the strong scent of Givenchy perfume hitting him as Piper swung open the door.

"Good morning, beautiful," he said as she beamed and threw herself into his arms.

"Morning, sparky." She gave him a kiss.

He grabbed her hand, pulling her away. "Take a walk with me." They made their way to the beach, making easy conversation.

"You know, I kind of miss being on the Argo II." Piper said.

"You miss almost dying every two seconds?"

"It was exciting, not knowing if we were gonna live through the day. What can I say, I love adventure, " They laughed.

"You're right, though. I miss the crew," Jason mused.

"And Coach Hedge with his baseball bat."

"And Leo's tofu tacos."

"And Camp Jupiter?" Piper looked down, kicking the sand. "You lived there basically your whole life, Jason."

"Hey." Jason squeezed her hand. "If you're suggesting that I'll regret not going back, I won't. I found a home here," He stopped and cupped her cheek. "I found you."

"Because Hera wiped your memories and gave me false ones."

"Don't do that, Pipes."

"It's just that sometimes, I can't help but think what would be different for us if none of that had happened."

"What I feel for you isn't based on some made up memories, Piper. Those don't matter because this."

He pulled her close. "This is real." He pulled her into a kiss and felt like he had been charged with a hundred lighting bolts. He pulled away and looked her in the eyes. "Don't ever doubt that I love you."

Piper looked like she was coming out of a daze. "I love you too, Jason."

Percy

"You sure this is gonna work, Clovis?"

"Huh?" He jumped up from his chair and went over to where Percy was lying on a bed in cabin 15. "Oh, sorry. Honestly, I have no clue Percy. I've never heard of anyone stopping demigod dreams from occurring."

"But there's a chance, right?"

"There's a chance. A small one."

"Alright, let's do it then." Clovis placed his hands on Percy's forehead.

Percy felt like he was falling into a deep slumber. A sense of peace washed over his body. I could feel like this forever, he thought. He felt like he was floating in a sea of darkness. It was strange, not quite like being underwater. It was as if time shifted around him, like he was nowhere and everywhere all at the same time. It was quiet, eerie almost. Suddenly, there was a shift.

A scene played out in front of him.

A white, searing hot pain nearly blinded him. His knees crumbled and his muscles strained. It felt like they were turning to liquid. He looked up, straining to see the battle that raged in front if him. The titan swatted the goddess, and she fell into the rocks. In this distance, the blond haired girl was lying still. She was hurt, and he had to get to her. He pushed back against the weight of the mass, but his arms buckled. He screamed as the sky collapsed and swallowed him whole.

He was on a deck. He met the boy's eyes, the impossible situation finally realized. He looked at his watch, then Percy's eyes, a silent message passing between them. No, he wanted to scream. He couldn't stop his feet as they launched him off the side of the ship, the ship blowing up with Beckendorf still on it.

His eyes opened to intense grey eyes staring back at his. "You drool in your sleep."

The scene shifted again. She layed on the canopy, injured.

"Where is it?" She whispered.

He took her hand and guided her to the small of his back. The part that kept him mortal, grounded. He shivered as he felt her electric touch.

The scene faded.

"The other side, Nico," he was saying. "Lead them there."

He looked down at his wise girl, squeezing her hand with his, knowing what had to happen.

"As long as we're together." Her voice cracked a little when she said that.

Gods, she had never looked so beautiful. At that moment he let go of the ledge, plunging into the darkness below.

Percy gasped as he shot up from the bed. He clutched the sheets, looking around frantically and trying to control his breathing. He placed his hand on his chest to assure that his heart was still there and beating.

"Percy," Clovis was saying. "Dude, you're fine. You're awake. What happened?"

Percy shook his head, still clutching his chest. "I gotta- I have to..."

Percy stumbled to the door, pushing it open and desparately trying to bring air into his lungs. He started towards the Poseidon cabin, barely registering Jason and Piper walking by hand in hand, greeting him.

"Hey Percy." Piper had a frown on her face, he thought. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Percy didn't acknowledge them, just kept stumbling toward the cabin. He reached the inside and slammed the door shut, sliding down onto it.

There was a knock at the door. "Percy, are you okay?" Jason's voice.

Percy shut his eyes tight, trying to get the images out of his head, the terrible flashbacks. He wished Annabeth was here. Gods, he needed her right now.

"Percy," Piper said. "Let us in, please."

Breathe. One more.

Percy pulled himself from the ground, still struggling. "I'm fine."

"Hey man." Jason said. "Would you open the door?"

Percy didn't know why he did it, but he opened the door.

"I don't know how to get out. I don't..-help me get out, please."

He fell into Piper's arms. He held tight to her, tears streaming.

"I can't get out, Piper"

"Look at me, Percy. You're here, you're alright" She pulled him away from her gently, searching his face. "What do you need?"

"I need Annabeth."

She cast a worried glance at Jason.

"She's always with you, Percy." Jason said, setting a hand on his shoulder. "Try thinking of a good memory of her."

Percy's eyes focused on him. "The Titan War."

"Uh, maybe a happier one."

Percy shook his head. "No, after the Titan War. Our first kiss, our first real one. At the bottom of the lake."

His breathing slowed. Blond curls flashed in his mind. An air bubble around the two of them. Her smile.

"That's good," Piper said. "Anything else?"

"Our first quest together." A hint of a smile played on Percy's lips. "Sharing Oreos in the back of that smelly truck."

Piper smiled. "You can tell me more on the way to dinner, alright?"

Percy took a shaky breath, nodding. He allowed Piper to guide him to the dining pavilion, glancing at Jason, his eyes holding a silent thank you.

Jason walked next to them. "You're gonna have to tell me me more of that story, bro."
