-*much love*-
They fought. Of course they did; they always did. But it was different this time. Haruhi had stormed out of the house and wasn't to be seen since.
Kyoya stared out of the window at the driveway silently praying to see her car pulling in. He couldn't even remember what started the fight, but he sure as hell was sure it wasn't worth this.
Not this panic, not this worry. Because as much as he hated her stubborn attitude, he loved her sweet smile. As much as he couldn't stand her fiery words, he longed for her sweet voice. As much as he loathed her independence, he lived for her, his Haruhi.
And he wanted her back, dammit.
He had made his nest on the seat by the windsill, under the premise of working on paperwork for his job, but in actuality, it was just to save face for all the servants at his house. But really, that was pointless because they all knew, as well as him, that he had gotten nothing done. His evening was spent between being lost in thought and gazing out the window.
Kyoya glanced at his phone for what must have been the hundredth time. He didn't want to be the one to crack and call, but God, did he want to. His hand picked up the phone and instinctively checked for missed calls or messages.
None.
"Screw it," he muttered before pressing the first speed dial and holding it up to his ear. The call rang for three times before cutting to voicemail. He snapped the phone shut and threw it onto the couch across the room where it bounced and fell on the floor with a loud thud. She had sent him to voicemail.
He ran his fingers through his hair before letting out a hushed scream into his palm. That….woman…had the audacity to send him to voicemail! When he called first! That sent a whole new wave of anger through him, temporarily removing the worry, but within another ten minutes, he was back to staring out the window, praying to see her car.
Eventually, the business man fell asleep, his head against the cold window, his mouth hanging slightly open and his paperwork splayed across his lap and the floor. Haruhi came home around midnight, after spending some time walking it off and then at Mitsukuni's house. She walked into their shared bedroom and seeing her husband asleep at the window, she smiled.
Haruhi walked to Kyoya and brushed her hand through his hair, kissing his temple. Kyoya stirred and Haruhi simply said, "Come to bed."
Kyoya opened his eyes and looked up at Haruhi. After a few swear words, he complied and stumbled to his side of the bed. He crawled under the covers and was soon fast asleep. Haruhi changed into her pajamas and crawled in beside him. In less than a minute, she felt Kyoya's arms snake around her and pull her close.
"I love you."
