Long time no see. I'm sorry for not updating after a really long time. I already had written 75% of the chapter but then suffered a major case of writer's block and didn't know how what stuff to add.

Flashback

"You are doing well Hinata-chan." Uchiha Jun looked at the Hyuga heiress with pride. "Remember to not let the fire burn your lungs. That is the trick of mastering the fire jutsu."

"Hai sensei!" The Hyuga heiress nodded with passion. It has been two weeks since the Uchiha took Hinata under his wing and she was making excellent progress. First, she was able to learn how to control her Byakugan. The day she showed the Hyuga head her fully controlled Byakugan, he just smiled at her sadly and kept walking...

Different from the Uchiha, who was really happy about it and even gave her a gift for her accomplishment.

"I already told you to not call me that."

"S-s-s-sorry Jun-san. I am still not used to call you by your first name."

"Don't worry sunshine." He patted her in the head, comforting her. "We have met only five times. You still have to get used to it."

"Hai."

"Now let's go again through the fire jutsu. Remember to be careful not to burn yourself."

"Captain." An Anbu with a catlike mask arrived, interrupting the training session. "You called for me?"

"Yes I did. Hinata come here."

"Who is he?" The Hyuga heiress was curious to know who was that Anbu with the catlike mask who had arrived to training ground 66.

"This is my Anbu friend. He will be helping with your training when I am unavailable because of a mission."

"Nice to meet you Anbu-kun." She bowed.

"Nice to meet you too Hina-chan. Captain has told me a lot about you. He says you have a lot of potential as a shinobi."

The 8-years-old eyes sparked with hope. At that moment she knew that even though her life was difficult, she could find a safe haven with Jun and his Anbu friend.

Present time

Team 7 minus Uchiha Sasuke were currently enjoying a bowl of ramen at Ichiraku's. As usual, Naruto was yamering down his tenth bowl of ramen and Sakura was scolding him for it. Kakashi would usually smile fondly at the sight which reminded him of his old team but this time he just sat there contemplating the current predicament of Uchiha Sasuke.

'He must've seen something during the Hyuga siblings fight. That is the only way to explain his current curiosity. I need to look more into it.'

"Did you hear about the news of what happened yesterday at Konoha hospital?" Sakura said, interrupting Kakashi from his inner thoughts.

"Hai. Who could do something like that?" The jinchuriki added.

"I think it was Sabaku no Gaara." The pink haired teammate revealed. "I heard they found traces of sand everywhere. What do you think sensei?"

"I would not be surprised if it was him." Kakashi said, answering the question. "Sabaku no Gaara is a force to be reckoned with. Be careful when you are out there and try being as far away as possible from him."

"I agree with sensei… Changing topics." Sakura continued. "Have you guys noticed Sasuke-kun's weird behavior?"

"That Teme has always been like that Sakura-chan."

"I feel this time is different. I think it's related to what happened to Hinata during the fight with Hyuga Neji."

"Why do you say that Sakura-chan?" Naruto asked, interested in the topic.

"I watched Sasuke-kun while the match between the Hyugas. I think he saw something..." Sakura shook her head. "Or maybe I'm crazy for thinking he made a weird expression during the fight."

"Don't concern yourselves with that." Kakashi. "He was probably upset with what happened with Hinata-chan." Sakura is right. There was something different about his expression and I'm pretty sure it has to do with Hinata's new abilities. What could she be hiding?. "You should go home. It's getting late."

Kakashi paid for the meal and sent them home. Afterwards, he went to their usual training grounds looking for Sasuke. When the copy nin arrived, he saw the Uchiha survivor training.

"Yo!"

"What are you doing here?" Sasuke asked while hitting trees.

"Looking for you. We need to talk."

The Uchiha survivor stopped his training and looked at his sensei to the eyes. "What about?"

"Something is bothering you and I believe it has to do with the former Hyuga heiress. Am I wrong? "

"I don't know what are you talking about."

"It bothers you that she was mistreated by her own father" The copy nin looked closely at Sasuke's reaction, wanting to read his emotions. "You are mad that her own father treated her that way."

Sasuke stop what he was doing and gave his attention to his sensei. "Shut up."

"You still can't believe that fact." Kakashi continued. "After all, her family is supposed to be with her."

"I'm warning you Hatake."

"Her own father disowned her and treated her like trash. She is bound to end up murdering the entire cl-" Before the copy nin could finish his sentence, Sasuke had already activated his Sharingan and launched himself with a murderous intent and Kakashi stopped him with his hand before Sasuke could hit him.

"It's not that." Sasuke said after composing himself. "It's just that… I don't know."

"You saw something. Am I wrong?"

"Yes. But I am not sure. I barely saw a glimpse."

"What did you see?"

"Her eyes. I saw they were crimson red just before her father struck her, just like the Sharingan. And her fighting style, it was similar to father's cousin Jun."

"You should let this go Sasuke. I think you saw that because your mind still hopes that someone survived that night."

"I am not imagining it."

"Sasuke…"

"I have to confirm this sensei. No matter what it takes." Afterwards, he left the training grounds, leaving the copy nin alone with his thoughts.

'That is ridiculous. Fighting style like Jun's. The only possible way for someone to that style is if she were…'

Suddenly, he remembered a conversation he had with Uchiha Jun several years ago during his anbu years.

'Wait. That's impossible…'
