Academy City. The centre of science and technology. A landlocked sovereign city-state whose territory consists of a walled enclave within the Tokyo Metropolitan Employment Area. Home to 2.3 million residents, most of whom were students that held the fabled title of Espers. Espers are ability users who, through taking part in the Power Curriculum Program, gained vast amounts of power to influence the world around them. They spanned from the very minute; being able to manipulate household objects with their mind, to the practicality almighty. Having control over every known vector in existence.

Few held the title of Level 5, the highest ranking the city can give an esper, having only produced 7 individuals that fall into this tier. Whole the rest occupied levels 0 to 4. 0 being the almost powerless ones.

One such 0 was a highschool boy named Kamijou Touma. An all around normal student you could find anywhere. The only thing seemingly off about this boy would be his unrelenting misfortune, stemming from the power in his right hand. Which not only negates the power of any esper or magician that comes into contact with it, but it also removes any good luck he may have, leaving him with an aptitude to get into horrendously unlucky situations.

Not too long ago he was involved in such a situation, where this highschool boy fought off the world's forces for a single smile of Magic God Othinus. A goddess who had brought him nothing but pain through her creative torture of putting him through thousands, if not millions of worlds brought about to break his mind. Facing eternal hells over and over again. With the last being a world contrasting the rest, different from the bleak and depressing creations that came before.

A world devoid of broken hearts, senseless death, pain and shattered dreams. A world that held its entire existence, upon the sacrifice of one boy. Should he throw away this smiling and perfect world he'd be embracing his selfish desire to return home, and subsequently stealing the happiness of every single one of the 7 billion people in that heavenly place.

To leave it would mean killing himself, as to rid the world of the only evil left in it. Yet, as he was about to do so, a certain someone showed him how to embrace this selfish wish of his, how to accept that maybe just this once, his happiness can come before anyone else's.

With that, he set off to defeat the God. Succeeding not by his actions, but by the change of heart in the lonely blonde girl. Who herself wanted to use this godly power of hers to return to her own home.

And after returning to his world, one where the very goddess who gave up her dream for his own was treated as a menace, a threat to its happiness and livelihood, he stood to protect her. He faced the world that seeked to crush this lonely girl under its unforgiving presence.

After a grueling battle across the snowy lands of Denmark, he had defeated his previous allies and successfully stripped away the Magic God's power. Turning her into a 15cm shell of her former self, forced to continue to live on under the care of her Warden and only Understander. Kamijou Touma.

Now having been a few months since that incident, with the dust settled and everything returning to what it once was. Kamijou Touma faced a new dilemma. Not one of worldly disaster, but a more personal one. He was troubled with the feelings of guilt and responsibility his actions against his allies drew. He believed that even if he begged and groveled on his knees no apology would suffice for what he had put them through in Denmark. Not to mention the fact he had stolen their world of happiness from them, an act which will forever be etched into his selfish being.

"Gahhhh what can I do!? I'm not asking for forgiveness, I just need to atone for what I've done. I have no clue how to go about apologising to the whole world! Ahh! What can this unlucky Kamijou do!?" With a rattled mind the boy paced around his dorm room. Constantly clutching at his head in a frantic manner.

"Human, can you stop that insufferable pacing, my head is starting to hurt watching you dig a hole in the ground with your feet." Proclaimed the fairy-like goddess as she poked her head out of her makeshift home. A flimsy cardboard box sat atop a shelf. It was far from perfect to be housing one of the strongest beings in existence. But her protests to get a more secure residence, one that would actually protect her from the four-legged demon that haunted her throughout the day, went unanswered.

"What's wrong Touma? If you're worried about something, sit down and let us know." Chimed in the silver-haired nun named Index. She was worried for the boy. He never discloses his problems to her, fearing he'd trouble her too greatly, something which never served to stop her from worrying even more. "Making something to eat might cheer you up! Food usually makes me happier."

"Thanks Index." Touma smiled, happy to see her cheerful as ever. "Well...I was just thinking how I should go about apologising for the mess I made. I didn't mean to burden anyone, including you." He said as he sat down next to her. "I know it's been awhile since it happened and I'm sure some of them don't think much of it, but I still want to make up for the whole debacle." With a tired sigh he leaned his head back, exasperated with the thoughts swimming around his head.

"You don't need to worry so much Touma. I'm sure they've already moved on. Once you explained the greater picture to me I understood and accepted it. I'm sure it's the same with everyone else."

"It's not like you have anything of value to offer them as compensation. And because of your financial situation I'm certain money is out of the question too." Othinus continued, knowing full well how little money the boy had at his disposal. Her cardboard domain being proof of his finances.

The mere mention of money nearly made the boy cry. Feeling for the wallet in his pocket that felt lighter than a feather already. Was his monetary trouble so apparent?

"Well there has to be something I can do. I'm still opposed to just leaving things as they are. Hopefully I can think of something." With a disheartened groan he let his body lay loose on the bed.

As the day progressed he had thrown the thought on the back burner, having decided to think of what to make for dinner instead. After doing so, with everyone finishing their plate of food (bottle cap of food for the 15cm tall goddess), the day crawled to an end. Having tucked Index into bed per her request, he carried the blonde Magic God and her cardboard home to the bathroom, fearing they'd have a repeat of last night when the calico cat jumped up to the shelf and terrorised the poor girl. He laid her down on the washer, taking his place within the bathtub he called a bed.

Touma stared towards the ceiling, his mind slowly creeping back into a restless state. "I need to think of something, this whole situation doesn't sit well with me." His face contorted on a simple scowl, turning his body in the metal confine he made his bed.

"Othinus was right, I have nothing of value to offer. It's not like they'd accept such a half-assed apology. I might as well offer myself at this point!" Once more he madly grasped at his scalp in an effort to widdle some kind of result out of his empty head.

Just then, an idea popped inside the boy's head. "Wait a minute, could that work? Could I give them my services as compensation? I'm sure they have something they could use help with, and depending on who I'm helping I might as well be a manservant or slave, ehhhh now I'm not so sure about this… No no, this can work! It has to! This Kamijou-san doesn't give up so easily!"

"YEAH THIS KAMIJOU ISN'T A QUIT- '' As he jumped at the opportunity to enact his idea, it didn't occur to him that a sudden jolt would result in his head hitting the faucet above. The resulting cursing at his misfortune woke the tiny goddess that slept in his 'bedroom'.

"H-Human do you have any idea what time it is? Don't you have anything better to do then shout at this ungodly hour?" Groggily added Othinus as she walked out of her house wearing a little night cap along with a very small black shirt that went down to her knees. Courtesy of some sacrificed Barbie dolls.

"Ow ow ow ow… Sorry Othinus, but I finally thought of an idea on how to apologise properly." He said in a low whisper. "Come with me real quick and you'll see the genius of this Kamijou." The grin on his face and the slowly swelling lump on his forehead didn't do this genius justice, nonetheless Othinus stepped up onto his outstretched hand and climbed his shoulder. Leaving the bathroom he made sure to be as quiet as he could, waking the monster sleeping in his bed would no doubt result in another head injury tonight. As he took a seat on the ground at the table, with a notepad and pen in hand, he began to write.

"So, what's this big idea that you have genius?" Sceptically asked Othinus as she looked at Touma while he continued to write something on the paper.

"As you've stated, I don't have anything of value to give to the people I had wronged, I don't have the money or the resources necessary to grant them anything like that. Plus, simply giving them stuff wouldn't be the most effective way to soothe this problem. So I thought, since I have nothing to offer, why not offer myself instead! Look at this!" He raised his written work to the little goddess, letting her read what he had done.

The Touma Kamijou Ticket.

This Ticket hereby grants its receiver written consent to utilise the services of one Kamijou Touma as they see fit for a single specific task of their choosing. I will not have the ability to refuse said task, unless it violates the next three clauses:

The task brings harm to Kamijou Touma and goes against his natural human rights as a living being. (Which includes being used for any acts of warfare, infiltration and exfiltration, reconnaissance, engagement and so forth. ) Or it violates any law within the receiver's and my own country.

If the task harms others and brings any significant or minor destruction to any material and intellectual property they, or others may own.

Lastly, if the task is out of my ability to handle and perform. I will try my best, but if the task exceeds what I am able to do or doesn't fall into my skill set, I could be inclined to refuse.

Take this ticket as a show of apology for my actions during the hassle in Denmark. Whatever you ask of me to do, I'll do my best to fulfill this Ticket.

Yours truly,

Kamijou Touma.

Othinus had to read it twice to make sure what she was reading wasn't some kind of joke, her human was really going to offer himself up to be a lap dog for his allies. He was prepared to be a gopher for other people, and from how this was worded, he wouldn't stray from being their slave or manservant as well. Even as Touma Kamijou's Understander, she was rightfully perplexed by this action. She felt a bit insulted that he would even think of himself as nothing more than a servant for others. If anything, those people and mainly his vast amount of girls chasing after him, should feel lucky and honoured to have something like this done for them by this boy. He was far too good for that, and it was sad that he didn't realise it.

She wasn't showing it but it angered her to no end. Especially because her human would be handed off to those floozies.

"So after all that thinking this is what you came up with? But I don't understand why you're doing this in the first place, I was the one who started that whole situation, I was the one who made your friends into your enemies. I was the reason why you fought against the whole world, I was the reason why you went through so many hells. This shouldn't be your responsibility, I should be th-" A single finger silenced the blonde, Kamijou having some inclination that her raising volume would wake the sleeping Index.

"Othinus, I know you're angry. I know you're eternally sorry for what you've done, but you're not the one to bear all that responsibility." Started Touma with a calm voice. "We were both responsible for this, I was the one who told you that'd I fight the entire world for you and I did. It was my choice to make them my enemies, I was fine with that. And because of that I'll be the one to pay the price. Whatever it may be I need to make this right." He finished with a spark of unyielding confidence in his eyes.

Othinus would never admit to him outright, but the look in his eyes not only rid her of anger, but it filled her with a strong yearning sensation deep within her chest that only fueled her wish to once more return to her full size.

"Oh." His sudden voice shook her out of the fantasies invading her mind. "I forgot to say. This one's for you." He said while handing the first ever Ticket to the little goddess on his shoulder.

Her single green eye widened, completely surprised by this turn of events. The slight blush on her cheeks growing a darker crimson.

"B-But why give me one? Wasn't this for the people who you fought for me?" With the ticket in hand Othinus asked her human warden.

"Why not?" He said simply. "If anyone should get one, surely my Understander should be the first one right? I have you the most trouble of all. So Othi-chan, if there's anything you want this Kamijou to do, don't hesitate to ask." With a single finger he gently rubbed the blonde girl's head, not doing much to lessen the blush on her face.

She couldn't help but be stunned by this whole situation. Still, she felt truly grateful for his undying compassion. Unknown to him, this one motion of kindness made her feel even stronger for him. Even with her size she truly wished to protect this boy with all she had. She wanted nothing more but to keep his sincere smile and shining light burning forever.

As she held the handwritten Ticket to her chest, she already thought of a plan on how to use it. "If I want to make full use of this, I'm going to have to talk to 'them' again. I know I'm the last person they want to talk to, much less offer assistance to, but who knows when I'll get an opportunity like this again" With a hopeful feeling spreading throughout her body, she muzzled herself against the boy's neck, looking forward to the future this little gesture could offer.

"Very well human, I'll take this. Though we should probably head back to bed, I'm sure you don't want the nun to wake up and reenact her vicious attack from a few days ago." With that, the two headed back into the bathroom. Othinus went back inside her cardboard box and Touma laid down in the surprisingly comfortable bathtub. This time, with a determined mind.

"Hopefully I can make enough copies of the ticket. Might need to borrow Aogami's printer. No, I can't let him find out, I wouldn't hear the end of it. I do still have everyone's number and email address, so I could send it digitally. Alright! This will be easy! This is a foolproof idea. What could possibly go wrong?" He laid his head down on his pillow and soon fell asleep. Not knowing that his words set up a bomb waiting to blow up in his face.

If only he knew of the many desires those tickets would reveal for his many admirers. If only he knew of the misfortune to come.

Rest now Kamijou Touma. Because your days of peace are soon to come to an end.

Thanks for reading and be sure to stick around for the next Remastered chapter!
