Author's Note & Disclaimer - This is a one-shot. But, if you guys like I might expand it and write more chapters. Some parts of this are taken from the book. I just wanted to expand the epilogue a bit more. In no way do I own the incredible and enthralling Splintered Series. All rights go to A.G. Howard.

Impulse: a Splintered Fanfiction one-shot

I am sixteen once more.

Morpheus placed the ruby, red crown upon my head.

My age-old skin smoothens out, my grey, bridled hair now curly and wild.

"I will leave you to grieve." Morpheus mutters.

I reach my palm out to his bejeweled markings upon his face, "Wonderland needs a King." Is all I can answer, Wonderland has waited enough for their Queen.

I tip my head back and without any more determination my lips meet his. I could feel Morpheus his arms needing no order to slide their way around my waist. Bringing me closer. He waited long enough, and I've waited long enough.

Soon I would see the child within Ivory's vision, the child I painted in Hart's lair in AnyElsewhere. The child that was my son and Morpheus'. The dream-child that would lead Wonderland in a new direction.

We marry, surrounded by a plethora of creatures: some clothed, others naked, all more bestial than humanoid. They are our subjects, and my heart brims with affection – for their weirdness, for their madness, for their loyalty.

Both of us wear red; rings of both gold and silver are placed upon our fingers. When the moment comes, I proudly state, "I do." He lifts my hand and presses soft lips to the scars that mar my palm. "I always knew you would" he teases.

Then he smiles, his jewels glistening gold and bright matching the gold band that now adorned his finger. "What now?" I hear my King ask.

A mad smile glistens. "I can think of a few things." I return.

"Now what could that possibly mean, I wonder." My King smirks, and follows.

I could hear his steps behind me, and I close my eyes.

For I know that the man behind me would forever be mine.
