A/N: Written for the WIXOSS Flash Bingo, #032 - Wakaba.
Looking for the Easy Win
It's safest to look for the easy way. Or so she thinks.
Aoba disagrees. The easy way is also an easy way to lose.
But why? Wakaba doesn't really get it. If she gets in over her head, of course she'll lose, but if she avoids situations like that, if she finds people that surely she can win against...
Aoba disagrees. That's why she's likely to lose.
Wakaba doesn't get why. Is it overconfidence? It's lack of confidence that makes her seek out the new, the apparently weak, to begin with. Is it because she doesn't try as hard? Of course she does. Every Selector has a wish worth fighting for and she's fighting for her own.
But Aoba winds up being right in the end and Wakaba loses her first match and she still has no idea why.
Until she finds out the truth - and it only becomes more important to find an opponent she can win against, and Aoba says she still hasn't understood at all.
