"Stick to the list."
Izumo smiled slightly and took the slip of paper she handed him. "Of course, dear."
She glared at his tone, but he simply held up his hands in what he hoped was a placating gesture. He could never quite be sure with her.
She gave him a sharp nod and walked away, leaving him with the basket; he started after her, slightly bemused, but too used to her abrupt behavior to really be bothered. Shrugging to himself, he simply took hold of the basket and started searching for the items on the list.
It didn't take him long to retrieve everything on the list – there were only two of them after all. But… it was actually a lot more than two of them. What with both of the clans…
He shook his head; they needed to be more self sufficient anyway.
Still…
In the end, his basket was full to the brim with enough food to last at least 3 days. He sighed to himself. They really needed to talk about boundaries with the others.
"None of that is on the list."
"Ah!" he startled, turning around. "Seri-chan, I know… That's not on the list either."
His tone was carefully blank, mostly because he knew it was pointless to start this conversation.
"Anko is implied. We always get it; it doesn't need to be on the list."
His eyebrow twitched. "Ah… but… do we need that much?"
She had an entire basket-full of anko. An entire basket-full. It would probably last her three days. He honestly felt a little sick just thinking about it.
"Yes."
"…"
"…"
"Let's check out."
She nodded curtly. "Let's."
